I'll keep this simple

I am having a hard moment with my partner and possibly on the tip of a breakup from my married partner and god forbid we get divorced . We have only been married 5 months

I'm currently in the process of buying a a buy to let property, which is solely under my name, also no financial input from her.

We have no joint assets or kids

Will my buy to let property be at risk to her if anything was to happen. Can the other half claim anything?

Any advice would be really useful

Many Thanks in advance for your time

I don't think she'd have a claim to the actual property, but I'd be worried that she could be entitled to some of the 'income' from the letting out of the property, should you divorce.
I would get some advice from a solicitor before you go ahead!

The basic principle of divorce is a 50:50 split of all assets regardless of whose name they are in.
This is adjusted for the length of the marriage/children/initial assets/earning potential etc - so basically yes it may be at risk, but so would any cash you would use as a deposit.
