Is this really stupid?

I'm just about to serve papers to my EA OH who I suspect has traits of a personality disorder. He's aware and in agreement about the divorce and we are working towards getting the house ready to market but I hate living with somebody so dysfunctional. This weekend he got drunk, lied about it and let the dc down - again. OH not going to move out and I do not have grounds for eviction.

I have seen a house that I want to buy. It is at the bottom end of what my settlement is likely to be. It was rented out and tge owner may be amenable to me renting it for six months with a view to buy. But then OH has a nice peaceful house where he can have his mates back for poker nights, generally slob out... Why will he then bother getting it nice or trying to sell it?

It is a bad idea, isn't it?

Actively try sell your house and stay until it sold.
That is my current plan just now too.
Have your rented place lined up to start gradually moving to a week before house sale.

Put OH in spare room in meantime.

There is no spare room. Am worried dream home will sell, but more worried I will have buried him under the patio in the meantime.
