Im a bit gutted because I am about to file for divorve after almost 25 years.
STBX - yes he has always worked but he only has a crap pension ( which I set up for him 10 years ago ! )
Ive paid into my pension since the day I left uni at 18 and its always irritated me tbh that he was always happy knowing hed be ok because id got a good pension.
Ive only ever worked part time so its been hard finding the money for 25 years and now im gutted that he who has never saved a penny and always been the one to get into debt will prob walk away with half my pension.
Without being greedy his parents who are very very old always said they would leave him and his brother the house so I suppose he has known he will have a hefty inheritance in the future. I wont now have any part of that understandably but it seems hell get my pension too.
Is it inevitable ? x

Pensions can't be seen in isolation, but part of the whole assets of the marriage. Yes it will need to be looked at but could be 'traded off' against other assets.

Can you come to an agreement? Like previous poster said, can it be off set against other assets. I'm just about to file and we've discussed the finances. Having been to solicitor I would get house with maybe a small payment to him of equity and his pension which will be a very good pension. I have one too but worked part time when children were smaller so solicitor said if be entitled. But I don't want his pension at all if I can have the house. So that's what we've agreed on. Good luck
