just come off the phone to the tax credits people and very excited to learn how much I'll be getting as a single parent!!!! i had no idea!

I'm going to be making a similar phone call shortly too. Do you have to provide proof that you have separated?

No, just give them a date your relationship ceased.

hi im going to be doing the same do u still get tax credits as a single parent with 2 kids when u work 23 hours I get just now as a couple but we now seperated x

I'm single parent with 3 dcs working 30 hours and paying a fortune in childcare.
I get a good whack from tax credits

I made a similar call last weekend. Does anybody know how long it takes for the payments to come through? They stopped my payments while it's processing, which means I'm really struggling in the meantime!

I would think you should get a payment this week fuzzy I was told 10 working days. Keep checking your bank too as my money went in before my letter came through.

I've just started claiming and it took about 2 weeks until first payment. I have a question....I have my income for the last tax year but it was lower than usual due to maternity pay. I'm a bit nervous that I'll end up owing them when I supply this years earning as it will be higher. Does anyone reading have experience of this?? (sorry to hijack the thread op). Lol at the "I'd have left him years ago@ comment.....that's what I thought too. You don't need to send details of where tje ex p is living....
