I haven't been, but several of my friends have (not Thetford, but they are all very similar), and have loved it without exception. The only thing to worry about would be if you have any problems with heights - most of the courses have one quite high, long zip-wire. Have you looked on their website to see what the course is like?
It's great, Make sure your top tucks into your trousers or you will end up with woodchip and bark up your back when you make a graceful end to the zipwires.

My sister has done Go Ape (in Bedgebury, not Thetford) and thought it was ace. DS2 is determined to go on his 10th birthday (minimum age). We often pop down to laugh atadmire the mad people dangling above.

Have done Thetford one twice. Great fun, but very tiring. Good play area if you are taking younger children who can't do Go Ape (Will need adult with them obviously). Only thing is at this time of year you might find it cold, as there is a bit of waiting involved. My preference would be for summer months (though it is busier then).
Great to do as a group, as you can cheer each other on, encourage friends who are a bit reluctant etc etc. Saw a hen party doing it once, they had a brilliant time. All wearing t-shirts labelled "bride", "bridesmaid", "mother of the bride" etc etc
DS1 (age 13) wants to go but only just tall enough, so hoping to take him this year. Trouble is that DS2 (9) is not old enough...
Anyway, thouroughly recommend it!
If you have a child on the minimum of age/height it might be pretty difficult for them - some of the swinging logs require you to take BIG steps between them.
Of course, even if you let go entirely you don't go anywhere.
