I always get brilliant London advice on here! Couple hours in Covent garden with 6 year olds what is best to do? Been plenty times without dc and always amble aimlessly around. Possible transport museum?

Marking place. People I know always tagging themselves there. What is actually there?

There's a market and people playing instruments.

Lovely place real atmosphere to it.

Exactly lemming, shops, cafes and street entertainment. Is there anything else though for kids to actually do once we have seen the entertainment and been in a cafe. Won't be shopping.

Sometimes there is a big screen, ROH if they like ballet. Trafalgar Square , galleries, Leicester Square, Piccadilly all close by.

If this isn't too late - just spent the day in Covent Garden today - there was a marquee/gazebo (where the street entertainers are) that provided face-painting, magic tricks, games, all sorts of fun!

Not too late, thank you!

Wander up Endell Street (just north of the Tube) to see more shops and Neals Yard - think its still got an automaton that's worth seeing. Slightly cheaper lunch options. Or up Long Acre - in Stanford's bookshop to see the huge maps on the floor and jump around on them.
And then may be stuff on in Leicester Square, and see Chinatown just behind and get dim sum or Chinese baked goods. It's only 5 min from CG, 10 with small children.
