With electric razors I think the foil should be replaced every 18 months or so. Might say so in the manual/guarantee. [Can't imagine that anyone actually does it though]

Doubt that the trimmer bit would need anything doing to it.

You need to remove the blade assembly and clean out the hairs every few weeks/months (depending on how much it's used), and oil the blades every few uses as well. I think you probably need a special machine oil intended for clippers. I always use the vial that came with the clippers.

Pretty Candles is right I suppose. In reality every bloke just uses them for a few months until they break, then uses a bic until they ask for another electric razor the next Christmas...
