my wife took me for a romantic night away in a hotel in London, not too far from where we used to live - she was pregnant at the time and it was a fitting reminder that the romance (and love life) was still very much alive - we've done this a few times since our daughter has come along although we're yet to plan anything now that baby number 2 has arrived - mind you, i'd rather forget the happy 30th birthday balloons her sister had sent to our room!!!

I remember my big regret at turning 30 was no babies, now with my dd turning 1 next week I dont have time for regrets! Days out are always a good option, esp if into anything in particular ie golf, footie, cars etc. My own view is we all love gadgets, I'd go for a watch. On another related note, can I still justify 37 as mid-thirties!?!

DW threw me a big surprise house party which was fantastic, but it was before we had DCH, so that's probably not practicable for you I guess.
Agree with Broon re. watch. That's a great 30th present (unless he's already got an Omega Seamaster or something..)

Broon- sorry mate, 37 is definitely late 30s...

Hmmmm, will ponder late thirties comment until 37th birthday in (gulp) 18 days time! 36 def. mid thirties! Anyway, CAC, I was all chuffed with first independent post on MN until showed it to DW, who pointed out that she in fact took me to New York fot my 30th!.However, still think watch a good idea, and by way of amends try \link{http://www.blitzwatches.com\here

Will vouch for blitz watches. I treated myself to a Gucci watch for my 30th and paid about £600 less than the rrp.
