Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

I'm here! payday , spent £13.60 in co op.. (not bad)

All budgetted this month. but I am owed money from my DS as he borrowed some to go away last weekend .. (really hoping he will pay me before I have to ask) .

Am a also bit annoyed because i bought some 2m of fabric from an ebay seller , and they sent me a piece of 160cm! , they keep sending me messages asking me if i am measuring it correctly as they are insisting they couldnt have measured it wrong... , have now agreed that I can sent it back for a refund , but its cost me £2.85 to send it back...so have asked for the postage also , but bet I dont get it .. (its the principle.. )

Hi all!

Yes - move of irritation client will be a blessing in disguise. Hoping I can take on more work and push myself to the next level. Irritating client was a bit taken aback to find out that I'm a fully qualified non practising lawyer. He didn't think I was that Bright. Dickface.

In other news - salmon and pea rissotto for dinner. Dh has called the plumber..........!!!!

Just checking in Smile.

DH and I managed to save significantly more than usual last month, so I'm pleased about that. We've got to fund lots of work on our house though, so it's very much earmarked for when we ever get round to doing anything.

Thanks Creme for the new thread.

Welcome back Camden :)

Collie yay for the new job you must be thrilled!

Space well done on the savings, it feels good!

Busy day at work. Unnecessary £4.10 on lunch because I was disorganised. Home now and doing some work on the computer, kids are in bed and DH is working late which means I am stuck at home which keeps me out of trouble lol.

Have done the payday money shuffle and we are halfway to savings target... things will slow down considerably this month with drop in pay but I am loving the new hours - definitely a balance to be struck! Need to be extra careful but I can see that this month might end up a little tight - it feels like we haven't a lot of spending money left already but I keep forgetting I did a big start of the month stock up shop so shouldnt need to spend as much through the month.

£15 cheque waiting to bank also must remember to do that.

Love this thread! wish we could have a frugal meet up. Shame we all live so far apart

Thank you Creme Star

Well done Collie, I am so pleased for you. Good plan, overpaying while rates are so low is good value for money.

Wreck, not all rescues bar under 5s, kitten season starts soon though. People breed moggies for money, easy tax free cash, the local vets will know whose got a litter coming up that they can't keep. Or they might have an adult who needs a new mommy. We all call ourselves mommy to pets, yes?.

£46 food shop
£4 lettuce and cat litter in morrisons
£6 on beer in Tesco but am claiming it back off clicksnap and snap and save.
£10 fuel.
£26 shorts from boden. They fit like they were made for me so I got another pair & customer services are giving me first dibs on any customer returns in my size.

Em You get them everywhere. I'm in healthcare and the attitude some people have is astounding. He'll be like those patients who are passed around each GP surgery on a 6 week rotation because their too batshit to be permenant anywhere. I'm sure the next person will be sick of him soon.

Need Is DD glad to home?.

Went to post on the old thread and it was full! Thanks for starting a new one, Creme.

Congrats on your new job Collie. When do you start?

Em Your client sounds like a PITA. I had clients like that in my last job. And grumpy bosses Grin. Hope tomorrow is better.

NSD for me today. Parents have lent me £40 so I can buy some food which, as a grown woman with a child, I find completely embarrassing Blush, but I literally have no money at all. So thankfully I'm going food shopping in the morning but going to keep it as frugal as possible so I've still got a bit of money left for some food at the end of next week. I've applied for JSA but received a text this morning saying they'll let me have a decision in about a week, so looks like it'll be a while before I start receiving it - and that's only if I'm accepted. So it'll be a week of worry until I know for sure.

Thanks creme for new thread, how old is your ds? That sounds like a lovely day out.

em that client is exactly what you called him, what an ass Grin

money however embarrassing it is your parents were glad to help you out no doubt

One skirt definitely going back it's too short, other one I will try again in the morning with tights.

Spent some vouchers from surveys today in Boots got myself some lovely tinted moisturiser from no 7 & balance of voucher went against some plasters for family first aid kit.

Other spends were food treating myself, kids & my cousin to lunch €36.10 €100 on halotherapy (he had lost my booking & had double booked so gave me today's session for free & I found out I can take both children at no extra charge) €100 or so on clothes for children sale on in name it shop & some spends in Penneys. Children are very low on clothes & I only do this about twice a year! Will go again tomorrow for some more clothes & perhaps buy some for Christmas presents 🤔BlushConfused

Laska if eBay they have to pay return postage if just a private sale via PayPal you have to pay return postage its all in the rules which you discover when you shop far too much online so inevitably have issues at some point, I try not to pay to much for used clothes now as some peoples excellent condition is my very used condition I am super fussy :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2016 06:47

Laska

When we returned a faulty eBay item eBay sent us a free return postage label. But it has to faulty.

Being 40cm too short is surely a fault.

Morning all. Put my expenses for the last month in yesterday at work so should get back just under 140 in a couple of days. There is a dress I'm coveting in the Boden sale but it's still too expensive at half price. I'm hoping its unpopular and they'll knock a bit more off in a week or so. Wishful thinking

Report
Ememem84 · 01/04/2016 07:41

wolf have you looked online at vouchercloud? They might have some money offs for Boden which could make the dress cheaper. although shouldn't be encouraging you to spend

bees yay! New job!

Should be an nsd today. Dh is supposed to be treating me to dinner tonight as an apology for working late recently. But has caveated it with - but he might have to work late today. Sad. But the plumber is coming tomorrow morning. So Smile

I'm not even annoyed about client going to someone else. He was an absolute pain. He kept duplicate records then complained when mine didn't match his (because he'd included things we didn't know about). He couldn't be bothered to read emails properly or open and scroll down attachments (this weeks example was that he asked for 5 invoices. I sent 4 attachments because two had been scanned together. File had been labelled as such. He didn't scroll to page 2. This was one of his complaints). Douche.

Anyway. Person he's going to isn't as qualified as me, has less experience and is in my opinion a lazy ass. So he'll be moved on fairly swiftly.

But it gives me opportunity to take on more of leaving colleagues work. So that's all good. I've already spoken to a couple of her clients who have nicely expected some hiccups in the beginning of my dealing with them as I get used to it.

Well done on the job Collie. That's been a long hunt you've had. I hope the job is lovely for you. Do you need to find daycare for ds now?

We've got an appointment to have ds's ears hoovered out this afternoon. Might be a bit hard as it's late in the day. Fervently hoping that providence helps us along a bit.

Frugaleering plans: I've bought a secondhand inkjet printer on ebay and ink cartridges, and I'm keeping a spreadsheet to show how many pages I get from the cartridges. Woohoo!

ipsos good luck to your ds, this will make his return to school so much easier next week.

Horrible day outside here, not fancying going around the shops in it Angry
Visiting my cousin today, we had planned a picnic with dc, that'll be an indoor one instead now otherwise known as just plain lunch Grin

Em some people are just pains, I think some people are just never happy unless they can find something to complain about!!

Ipsos are they removing wax from your ds's ears? Am guessing they aren't putting grommets in that quickly!!

We are having a quiet day today, was lovely to have day out ystd but dd tired today and I need to catch up on some house work. I want to order my friend who helped me out massively when dd was in hospital some flowers, any recommendations for good florists?

It is always surprising which people stand out when when there is a crisis I find, my parents and this one friend were really the only people that really supported me during what was the worst week of my life. Have been disappointed in my brother who lives locally but has not even popped over to see how we are Sad
