Grin Laska.

NK5BM3 · 29/07/2015 19:11

Thanks Laska.

I did post on the last thread to fuzz.

Basically said that I don't think it's legal that your dh's company wants to demote him. You need to check whether the IT skills were a requirement written in his job description. And even if it was, he was appointed to his job. Therefore any shortcomings should be rectified via a training session as opposed to demotion.

There should also be a period where he can appeal this and demonstrate that he can either do the job as per the job description, or that it's the system that's buggered.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the new thread laska!

NK5 that's brilliant advice!

collie I love your August goals!

Had a NSD, really happy with it, as I'd forgotten the chicken from the freezer and wasn't sure what we were going to have for dinner without going to the supermarket. So I took the skin off some gluten free sausages I had in the fridge, chopped them into little bits and fried them. Fried some veg, added back the sausages and added a few spoons of creme fraiche. Served with cheese and pasta. Kids loved it, so I'm happy!

Do any of you grow your own veg? Trying to decide if it's worthwhile, I'll need to start putting some money away for the initial investment. Was just thinking of some pots to start with, but am completely clueless.

Whatabout · 29/07/2015 20:42

Hello, can I join you all? I start maternity leave on Tuesday and will have a big drop in earnings. I'm an impulse purchaser and a justifier. I'll sit at the back and scribble in my virtual notebook and try not to trip over and be the clumsy new girl

whatabout huge welcome! I'm only a newbie myself, but everyone is really nice. Helps not to feel so alone when you are trying not to spend! When is your baby due?

Whatabout · 29/07/2015 20:50

Thanks TOP, due at the start of September, I have a two year old DS and am having a c section so it's going to be interesting. I'm a full time WOHM at the moment and I'm going to use maternity leave to decide whether to change this.

We are so bad at squandering money I have to get a hold of the situation.

girliefriend · 29/07/2015 21:01

thanks Laska Grin signing in!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 29/07/2015 21:02

Whatabout, I'm new too and also squander money horrifically! Really really trying. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

My August goals:

  1. Stay within £400 food budget
  2. Stop impulse-buying crisps/choc/giant cookies
  3. Actually keep spending money for me so I can save up for a hair cut, and not be forced to use my personal budget to buy food/petrol etc at the end of the month

Today is payday, wheee! Must. Not. Blow. It. This time. I actually can't wait for direct debits to start coming off so I can put them all in Good Budget.

Thank you so much NK :) that's very reassuring. He has said that of course he will be arguing his case. I'm not sure what was in the job description - it's a bit complicated as he went for a 'retail manager' position but the interviewer was so impressed with him that he immediately offered him a higher position as store manager. It was temporary, but then made permanent when the previous manager was promoted. He's been doing really well Confused thank you again for the advice Thanks

(and I hope Laska isn't going to tell you off for posting on the old thread :o :o)
