Not sure if this site has been mentioned before, but its brilliant.

You just tell it the expensive number you've been given starting with 0870 0844 etc and it finds you a cheaper one.

And what I've found is that you get a much better service via this alternative number - rang to get a repair on my my Hotpoint tumble drier via an alternative number and, rather than waiting in queue and eventually getting through to a harassed person in a noisy call centre I got straight through to someone who was incredibly helpful and efficient and clearly not in a call centre smile

Give it a go.

I have used it before and it is great, so bumping for good measure.

I found it on money saving expert, they also have an international call checker. I use Skype now as I have a bro in The US and a friend in Canada but that is also useful for international calls.

bump by all means - the site has been around a good while but everyone needs to know.

BT usually include 0870 and 0845 in your free call time, but not everyone does. The numbers are pricey from mobiles.

0871, 0844, 0843 are always expensive. Never call these numbers and certainly never from a mobile.
