Kids summer clothes in sales?

whyno · 14/08/2013 08:37

Do any of you know where I can stock up on summer clothes for my toddler and baby for next summer at the moment?

Preparing myself for a tough couple of years financially so thought it might be a good time to save some money now in the sales and reap the benefits later.

Any ideas? Anyone else do this?

I stock up via EBay...look for people selling bundles of clothes as opposed to single item. My best buy ever was 2 full boxes of clothes, easily 60 odd items, for the princely sum of £12!! Keep an eye on postage fees, some folk try to get the arm in...collect where possible. I'll be doing DS summer clothes when we come back from holiday in Oct Smile

You have to wake up early (4.30am...) but if you log onto the Next site all the summer clearance stuff that has been returned is being relisted at the moment. I've picked up a lot of nice things this way over the last few years and if you have an account then you can get it delivered to store for free.

Not looked this year, but in previous years have got a lot of bargains in the Monsoon 75% off sale.

You might be a bit late for some of the sales. Sainsburys have had some nice things, this summer, though. Zara always used to have a few nice, quirky things for toddlers, knocked down to a few quid.

All the summer sale stuff in the high street chain stores seems to have gone now. You might be better off going to one of the retail outlets where they have end of line stock and sale stuff.

Mothercare have a sale at the moment, ditto GAP. I think it is just making a habit of checking the bargain rail every time you are passing.

I do this. Buy the next size up in the end of season sale fot the following year. My favourites are George at asda (on now), mothercare(on now) and debenhams and m&s. you are not too late, lots of end of season sales in sep. Keep a track of what you're buying to avoid duplicates and don't forget swimwear!

Also you could guesstimate 'croc sandles' sizes (mothercare own brand) and scoop up sun hats, poncho beach towels and sun glasses in sale (mothercare, George). Happy shopping :)

....and, the autumn NCT sales are due around oct. ours is oct 26th. Great priced nearly new items, but it will be winter wear only. Spring and summer wear is available in the mar/apr NCT sale. Google it to find one near you.
