Inspired by another thread, I have just bought the lollipop moulds and have frozen my first ice lollies.

But, much more interestingly, if you have a dishwasher they have these Finish thingies that are made up of 12 pellets/ compartments of dishwasher liquid. The lady in front of me explained that you just pop them into your dishwasher and you are guaranteed to get 12 washes. Not bad for 99p.

And yes, I know running a dishwasher is not very frugal, but for those with a large household (me) and a new baby (me), running the dishwasher once a week is more then welcome.

A dishwasher costs less to run than washing up by hand.

I use Tesco daisy powder, a tablespoon in each wash, and it works out as 0.017p per wash. I get 280 washes out of 3kg.

Im going over to homemade dw detergent soon though so it isn't tested on animals.

Now I feel justified using the dishwasher.

What's homemade detergent Fluffy?

I read somewhere that the average person without a dishwasher spends a total of 8 months of their life washing up. Dishwashers are not a luxury.

our cats love the posh cat food from the 99p shop, I think they are just snobs who like the name Grin.

Since DD2 its every other day. It's a large dishwasher, so it takes a lot to fill it.
However, now I'm doing more baking (idea from another frugal thread), I need to use it more.

Thanks Fluffy. The cleaning with white vinegar, is something I might also try.

2 bottles of that Lucozade sports drink for 99p, £1.30 each in the machine at our local leisure centre.
