I did have my own potatoes and onion from my allotment. Ds2 is out all day on a skate park trip, dp is in bed (works nights) and ds1 got up after 2pm! He's a teen and stays up far too late at the moment. Anyway I'd not eaten much, mainly fruit and was a bit peckish, ds1 grunted 'food' at me so I thought I'll see what I can make quickly. But I fancied a stew. I had a bit of bacon grill left in the fridge so cubed that, added 2 large pots, 1/2 chopped onion, 2 large sliced carrots some ground pepper and 1 ham stock cube dissolved in hot water. Mixed it all up and cooked in a casserole dish full power for 10 mins then stirred and did for another 10 mins. I could've done it on the stove for not much more time I suppose? Still I was pleased with it. Once cooked I grated cheese on it. More for the grunter as I'm cutting back. It did taste nice though and so cheap and easy to do.
Oh and I did tell ds1 not to be so cheeky btw. He does it for affect and thinks it's funny He apologised when I said he could feed himself
