Glued to the keyboard again

I'm checking back in, after departing several months ago, to say I'm on draft 3. Drafts 1 and 2 merged owing to one of those thankfully/hopefully rare world-wobbling interruptions, so it is not the progress it might sound like. All the same, I'm allowing myself to dream about getting the book finished. It's classic crime so I'm kept busy in this round spotting the discrepancies. And worrying about the ones I've missed. And rewriting startlingly unimaginative passages - an alarming number of them - and trying to avoid simply chucking in more adjectives and adverbs. Great fun.
