Bedding for cot bed?

Hi guys,
My baby is coming in two weeks (I'm being induced) and I'm trying to get my nursery finished before it arrives even though it'll be sleeping in my room for a while I'd still like to get it completed.

I've got a cot bed set up in there which is lovely but I'm struggling on which bedding I'd need.
Do I need to buy a cot bed quilt or just a cot quilt?
Reason I'm asking is because on all of the pictures the cot beds have the sides down and the quilt is hanging over the side. Am I best to get a cot quilt whilst it'll have the sides up?

Thank you,
Claire x

No quilt of any kind til 12months as far as I'm aware. Just a light blanket or sleeping bag when baby hits the minimum weight.
Also avoid cot bumpers unless air wrap ones.

Yep all you need is a cot bed sheet and a sleeping bag. Much less faff than quilts and easier with a baby who won't stop wriggling round the cot.

It's just for decoration really, I'm not planning on having the baby sleep in the quilt I just wanted one that matches my curtains so it all looks nice.
I'll just be using light blankets for sleeping.

I would go for cotbed quilt. It's a lot cosier, being bigger.

Do you mean you're going to put the quilt on the cotbed for decoration when the baby's up, but then remove when he or she in there? I'm not sure you will end up doing this.

For the first 6 months or so when the baby is in my room with me then yes it will be as decoration because the baby won't be sleeping in there.

I'm not going to take it in and out when it's using its cot that'll just be ridiculous
