Cots and beds

Any alternatives to cot bumpers for my 7&half mth old DS

My DS keeps trapping his arm/elbow in between the slats in his cot bed while wriggling around in his sleep which results in a very unhappy little man as wakes up crying. We've never used a cot bumper as heard about the risk of suffocation. Is there any alternatives out there? Would it be safe to use a bumper now he is a bit older?
Any suggestion greatly received

There are some available that are a bit like netting. I'm on my phoe, so fiddly to do a link. I'll try and find the name for you.

There's a 4-sided version as well if your cot doesn't have solid ends.

We've used air wrap for ages and it's great.
