Sheets for Travel Cot?

The mattress of our travel cot has a water resistant type cover and I'm concerned that it's quite rough and will hurt DD's face.

The travel cot has velco straps to attach the mattress to the frame so I can't put a fitted sheet over the mattress.

Is the only answer to put a flat sheet just round the middle of the mattress? I'm concerned about it coming loose and am not sure about how easy it would be to safety pin on.

Thanks in advance

Where are the velcro straps? All around? Sounds like an odd design.

Mine has velcro straps too, but only one at each end, and the fitted sheet just fits around the velcro strap. Stays on fine.

hOpe you find something that works.

I got fitted sheets from Mothercare but to use them I couldn't velcro the mattress to the frame.

I just lay the mattress in the base of the travel cot with the fitted sheet over it.

Two kids later, I've never had any problem with it not being velcro-ed in.

Just use a flat cot bed sheet & tuck it well in. You don't need safety pins. We've always done this & had no problems.

Lovely thanks for your help ladies.

The velcro straps are just one at each corner.

Phoenix have found them on Babies R Us, do they have holes for the velco or are they just travel cot sized? Thanks for your help, x.

They are just travel cot sized but i didn't use them on the mattress that comes with the travel cot i bought another slightly thicker more padded and comfy one from Kiddicare because we were using it as an inbetween moses basket and big cot for ds2 and he now sleeps in it at my parents on a Friday night so we wanted something a bit comfier for him.
