This may be a stupid question, but please bear with me as I'm a clueless first timer.

My friend has very kindly given me a moses basket, and I'm wondering where I can buy just the bedding rather than with the actual basket? As I've not seen this in the shops, only stuff for cots. What bedding do you use in a moses basket and is it ok to use her old matress or should I get a new one and agin, where can you buy them separate?

I would buy a new matttress, theyre fairly cheap.
You can buy moses basket sheets at mothercare or similar, and get small blankets for newborns

I use cotton pillowcases as moses basket sheets, they fit perfectly and are alot cheaper than tiny little fitted sheets.

I just wanted to dig up this old-ish thread again.

I too am a clueless first timer and was wondering what I need other than a fitted sheet for the moses basket. I have been given one of those sleep sack things which you zip the baby into (I wish they did them for grown ups Grin ), but have also been told by friends that their new borns liked to be swaddled (I have also got a swaddle blanket thing).

The sleep sack looks like it might be too big (long) for the moses basket?

Also, do they really use the sacks from newborn (it says 0-6 months but looks huge)?

And if you swaddle, is that it ,or do you also have a little blanket? (Have been given a "cellular one".)

I am sure there are many different ways of doing it, but as a newbie I would welcome any experienced tips!

Thanks
