Hi all.

Can't believe I am in the 2ww already. I have a 32 day cycle with ov on day 20. TMI but had cervical biopsy last week and cauterisation. Told to abstain from shennanigans for 7 days. 5 days in and day 16 noticed ewcm tinged with blood and put it down to proceedure. However something made me do opk which was clearly positive on cd 17. Was in shock and DTD twice xmas day (walk in wardrobes are very convenient when 10 relatives in the house) same on boxing day. So in 2ww 3 days earlier than expected. Will of course be symptom spotting like mad, denying that I am symptom spotting, and reading everything into every twinge etc and I am a POAS addict. Roll on the new year and our bfps. Am 42 so chances of conceiving slim but am giving it a shot.

mattsmama Sun 29-Dec-13 12:49:03

Hi! I conceived first month of trying at 42 - so remain positive it can happen. I am now 44 and on the 2ww having just started ttc no 3 so we can wait it out together smile

booisgreat Sun 29-Dec-13 17:17:19

hi mattsmama

welcome to the 2ww. This is #3 for me two. Got pregnant very easily previously and thought we were done until I had an unexpected pregnancy and subsequent mmc in september which made us reassess matters. As this is #3 for you do you have twins or a short space between two. When are you testing?

mattsmama Sun 29-Dec-13 23:29:18

Hi - my eldest is 7 and youngest two - longer age gap than I would have probably liked due to being quite poorly after first pregnancy due to under active thyroid so I kept putting off # 2. Then when I felt well enough to try again had mcs. Anyway for my last pregnancy I was on steroids because of the thyroid problem and I also have high killer cells.

Having said all that the age gap has worked out quite nicely so it doesn't bother me. smile

I have been obsessing over every little symptom even though I promised myself I would not and have a POAS obsession! Already tested - far too early with negative results of course but I will try and hold off now till Tuesday and I will be using first response. When will you be testing - hope you have more willpower than I do.

seasavage Wed 01-Jan-14 16:17:07

Hi, not convi ced I am waiting to test. But can I just say I bow to your superior opportunity finding skills (walk-in wardrobe).

booisgreat Wed 01-Jan-14 19:31:18

I willl also be testing next Tuesday. I am dpo roughly and very dizzy today and tired. Not that I am symptom spotting!!!! I have a party next Saturday so will poas even though they are internet cheapies and nothing will show. Ooh maybe yoy meant u were testing yesterday. Let me know. Got pregnant very easily on dc1_nd dc2 but I was in my 30s then and knew nothing about ovulation or timing. The ignorance was bliss and now I am obsessing.

booisgreat Wed 01-Jan-14 19:32:02

Should have said I am 6 dpo.

Winterbluessummersoonish Wed 01-Jan-14 20:17:50

Can I join you, we are also ttc #3 I fell pregnant this time last year but had a MMC last Feb, day 27 is next Tuesday so I think testing from then is ok with a first response, no real symptoms to report; hungry and tired but that seems to be normal for me?

This is the third cycle we have been trying although first month we have 'focused fully for longer' iyswim!

I also have an under active thyroid so that worries me a bit...

htbftm Wed 01-Jan-14 20:45:48

I'm 40 and trying for #4 after a significant gap! Feel like a first timer lol!

ps - scuse the ignorance - what is 2ww?? I need a bigger acronym list!

Winterbluessummersoonish Wed 01-Jan-14 21:00:43

Two week wait, the gap between ovulation and your period starting - although if I don't fall pregnant this month I am going to make this a one week wait and carry on 'trying' rather than stopping and waiting!

I'd really like some company as I've accidentally found myself in a 2ww after a drunken Boxing Day shag. DH and I aren't ttc but I keep track of my cycles using an iPhone app so I know roughly when to expect AF. Turns out Boxing Day was my most fertile day. If I am pg it will be number 2 for us. I've got very tingly and painful boobs but I know that doesn't mean much. It took as 13 months and a CBFM to conceive DD so I can't really believe that one bonk could be enough tbh, doesn't stop me wondering though!

mattsmama Thu 02-Jan-14 00:31:48

Hi ladies - AF arrived this morning - 4 days early which is very unusual for me. Very disappointed - sounds daft but I did feel pregnant up to a point and then not - does that make sense? Maybe I was trying to convince myself. It was only first real month of trying so must now look forward to next cycle. Wishing you all oodles of luck - might hang around a bit if that's ok? xx

Winterbluessummersoonish Thu 02-Jan-14 08:38:22

Oh mattsmama I am sorry, sad do you normally have regular cycles? Strangely before my two children I had regular 35 day cycles and ovulated at day 21 since the MC (which may or may not be related) I have 26 to 31 day cycles, so feel like this trying is a bit hit and miss. I have nt used ovulation sticks before, so that may be next months project.

I cannot recommend clear blue fertility monitors highly enough, it was the best £100 I ever spent because you know exactly which day/two days is going to give you the best chance. Daily POAS and cycle charting does make the whole thing feel more clinical though. It depends how long you've been trying really, it has been a year for us so we were getting really fed up with ttc.

mattsmama Thu 02-Jan-14 10:05:43

Hi Winter - thanks and yes cycles always regular so it's a bit odd. Trying not to get too down as it was first cycle. Hi Golden - I use the clear blue digital ovulation and will keep doing so too. Even though I am pretty sure when ovulating as I get ovarian pain etc it makes absolutely certain of when your fertile time is. Onwards and upwards to the next cycle!! Fingers crossed for you ladies xx

Winterbluessummersoonish Fri 03-Jan-14 07:42:46

How is everyone? Any updates/symptoms?

Good luck for next time mattsmama, keeping everything crossed you get your bfp.

As for symptoms I've absolutely convinced myself I'm pg which is ridiculous given we only did it once and had such a hard time conceiving first time round. My boobs seem a lot more painful than they usually do in the run up to AF, I've had odd cramping sensations and feel bloated. I keep telling myself to stop obsessing but I can't get it out of my head. I hate the 2ww so much! Today is roughly 10dpo so I'll be looking for spotting as I had implantation bleeding with DD. Hope the rest of you are handling things better than me!

OrangeFizz99 Fri 03-Jan-14 10:43:08

winterblue - I am also ttc no 3 on cycle 3 and the first cycle of actually dtd more than once or twice!

I was so definitely going to avoid symptom spotting but... I have a sore throat, possible sinus infection resulting in very sore teeth, some cramps and am very flatulent. If Im not pregnant then Im an utter mess smile

Not totally sure when I ov'd but due on Tuesday if all normal or Thurs if late like last month.

Fingers crossed for all. I bloody hate ttc!

booisgreat Fri 03-Jan-14 12:08:51

Hi Girls,

After starting the thread I haven't exactly been the best poster here.

Matts mama I am sorry that the old hag got you. Hopefully next month will be your month.

Welcome to the other ladies. I too am testing next Tuesday and am symptom spotting like mad. I don't know when I ovulated so am either 8 or 9 dpo. I had a positive opk on cd15 where test and control line were same colour. But on cd 16 the test line was so much darker than the control line. I have been super tired(nothing to do with all the late nights over xmas of course) and very gassy. Have also had a few dizzy spells. I had a dream last night that a hpt was positive so did one this am and of course it was negative. What did I expect at 8/9 dpo!! Got progesterone results back a few weeks ago and they were low. I had told doctor I had longer cycle and that I had literally just oed. Anyway got repeat done yesterday. Have been self medicating with vitamin c, b6 and b12. I'm like a walking chemist.

Orange when I got my pregnant the last time it was sinuses that tipped me off.

Anyone ever use the one step pregnancy tests?

booisgreat Fri 03-Jan-14 12:09:35

Should also have said I got smiley face on day I got darkest opk.

Frettchen Fri 03-Jan-14 12:31:48

I feel like a bit of a fraud, but I'd like to join you anyway. I'm technically on my 2ww, although I think I dtd too late in the month, and I'm not even sure I'm ovulating thanks to the wonders of PCOS...

Even though I'm fairly certain I'm not pregnant, I'm still symptom-spotting like a woman possessed.

AF is due on the 10th, so I'm probably on CD21ish (my spreadsheet's at home so I can't tell for definite) and for two days now I've been ridiculously tired all the time. I put the 1st Jan down to a late night the day before, but yesterday was just as hard to stay awake through. I have very slight queasiness after eating. I have a headache and a sore throat. I've also had what seems like more EWCM than usual; as in it's normally done by now.

In all likeliness I'm probably just coming down with a cold or something, but there's a teeny tiny glimmer of hope that it might be something more.

OrangeFizz99 Fri 03-Jan-14 13:18:08

Now you have me excited boo! I have a couple of early detection tests, trying to resist until Monday am FMU... They are 'Fertility woman' or something like that, from amazon and prime eligible. Came with an FSH test for days 3-5. i like POAS ing so it made me happy..!

My ov doubt is also due to opk weirdness - fertile cm 10-13 then pos opks 13-16. 13 and 14 were the same colour as line and 15 and 16 lots darker. I think tesco opks are so sensitive they are dangerous.

Symptom spotting is so hard not to do, as we have all just proved!

booisgreat Fri 03-Jan-14 13:42:28

Hi frettchen. The main 3 things that tipped me off the last time was extreme tiredness for no reason, stuffed nose and sore nipples. Since the mmc my nipples are always sore from ov to af, for first time ever in my life so I now have to discount that sign. I am also very flatulent and bloated and suffering from light headedness. Naturally I am reading into everything and this coupled with my addiction to poas means I will be very busy over the next week. Think AF due Tuesday but as I oved early this month I am not sure of my luteal phase has lengthened. It is normally 12 so that is what I am sticking with.

Although symptom spotting is headwrecking it does pass the 2 weeks, albeit slowly.

Winterbluessummersoonish Fri 03-Jan-14 13:49:08

Exciting to read everyone's updates, I have just been googling 'how early can you test?' I am tempted to buy a test today and do it in the morning. I have symptoms such sore boobs to touch but had this last month!?! I feel a bit sicky and a bit tired...but I probably feel these things most months without normally noticing.

I was spoilt with first two dc I can pinpoint the date they were made!

This time feels harder already!

Winterbluessummersoonish Sat 04-Jan-14 09:36:15

Anyone testing today?

OrangeFizz99 Sat 04-Jan-14 11:09:15

I'm thinking tomorrow am with fmu... Will be 10-12 dpo.

I'm going to hold out and test on Tues or Wed next week. One thing this experience has taught me is that I'm not ready to properly ttc again yet. It's no easier on my sanity second time around! I hate the way I obsess and start analysing every symptom. It would be wonderful if I am pg because I could enjoy my happy accident and hopefully never worry about ttc ever again. Fingers crossed for all of you, I'm going to try and pretend the internet doesn't exist for a day to minimise my obsessing!

OrangeFizz99 Sun 05-Jan-14 08:58:15

Hmm. Used an early detection test which says invalid after 10 mins. Only got back to checking it after 20. Faint line... So will gave to poas again tomorrow am to really know I guess!

Bumblebee25 Sun 05-Jan-14 09:35:46

Hello ladies - I'm a newbie here and TTC #1. AF is 4 days late today and been symptom spotting like crazy! I held off until this morning to POAS and it was BFN. Now very confused and a little disappointed. I've only been off the pill for 3 months (after 15 years on them!) so it is early days but this symptom spotting is driving me mad. Just couple of days ago I got a bad cold so thought that could be one of the signs, not to mention late AF... And I promised myself when DH and I decided that I come off the pill that I'm not going to obsess!!! It's therapeutic to read everyone's updates though - hopefully 2014 will be the year of BFP all around!

Winterbluessummersoonish Sun 05-Jan-14 18:17:05

Orangefizz- that sounds promising, fingers crossed for tomorrow...

Bumblebee - what brand did you test with? Clear blue has always been hopeless for me, even though I was pregnant.

I am going to test tomorrow or Tuesday, I don't think I have symptoms, hate waiting and really want to fall pregnant soon sad but I know there is no point stressing...(easier said than done)

Good luck to everyone

OrangeFizz99 Mon 06-Jan-14 13:19:48

Another faint line today within the timescale... guess I'm pg!

Fingers crossed for everyone else testing this week.

Bumblebee25 Mon 06-Jan-14 18:34:02

Winterbluessummersoonish - it was supermarket's own brand. No idea if they are reliable like the branded ones. Or if anything else than blood test is reliable! If AF doesn't show soon going to test with digital. I have convinced myself that I'm not pg - just want to know why AF is so late.

Orange fizz - congrats!!!! That's fab news!

Good luck to everyone

booisgreat Mon 06-Jan-14 18:34:50

That is fantastic news orange fizz. congrats and heres to a healthy pregnancy.

I a11 dpo ad bfn this am. No sign of af and i usually spot for a day or 2 before. Had a few cramps last night and had weird pale yellow cm tinged with pink. Naturally I am reading everything into this and driving myself cracked. Will test every morning until AF arrives.

How is everyone else doing ?

Frettchen Mon 06-Jan-14 23:21:08

Congrats Orange

I'm feeling like crap - think am coming down with something which is probably not pregnancy... AF is due on Sat, so am not buying a test until Sunday. Just in case AF turns up on time. But if she's even a day late I'll be peeing on my first ever pg test. I'm guessing it's just like an ov test!!!

in the meantime I seem to be hitting a wall of exhaustion at about 6 each evening, my tummy just aches. Headache and sore throat still present. Plus tonight I've been this close to throwing up a couple of times. My stepdad has just gotten over a nasty cold which started with a sore throat so I'm dreading it being just a nasty cold...

OrangeFizz99 Tue 07-Jan-14 08:36:56

Symptom spotting is so hard not to do and so rubbish!

Getting a cold has been a sign for me twice now of being pg though...

ThisIsMeNow Tue 07-Jan-14 10:00:45

Op just wanted to say, I had a cervical biopsy this month and was really worried as it was bang in the middle of when I ov'd but luck was with us and got my Bfp so fingers crossed and good luck!

I'm going crazy here!

Did a first response test yesterday 5 days before AF and in the middle of the afternoon. There was a faint but definitely there second line. So I started to think BFP BUT I did a sainsburys digital test with fmu this morning (so 4 days before AF) and it said not pg. Do you think I've had a chemical pg?

Huge congrats to Orange btw, sorry for selfish post.

ThisIsMeNow Tue 07-Jan-14 19:24:08

Golden, you're still 4 days before af is due so it might just be too early and I don't think digi's are as sensitive.

Winterbluessummersoonish Tue 07-Jan-14 20:06:40

I had a negative on a clear blue this evening... hmm Although I know I should not have tested until the morning and clear blue are crappy but on the other hand no symptoms so not feeling very positive...will test in the morning and see what happens!

Very self indulged post!

OrangeFizz99 Wed 08-Jan-14 08:06:30

How did it go with fmu winter?

Agree golden daffs could just be early and digitalis are loads less sensitive than frer. Fingers crossed!

KittyKK Wed 08-Jan-14 10:49:57

Hello ladies...would love to join you for my first month of TTC after MMC in September!

I'm a crazy lady:

1) bashing my boobs, hopping for pain!
2) desperately P'dOAS on 6dpo, 7dpo...today is 8dpo, so thank goodness for the cheap internet tests to keep me entertained!

Congrats to all who've got their BFPs already smile

KittyKK x

Winterbluessummersoonish Wed 08-Jan-14 18:17:17

Negative this morning hmmday 28... Will test tomorrow then try and wait a bit

Winterbluessummersoonish Wed 08-Jan-14 18:17:59

Golden have you tested again?

Frettchen Thu 09-Jan-14 13:57:29

Have checked my chart and am on cd 29 today. Previous cycles have been 27-28 days, so if AF stays away, I'm officially Late. Can't get a test until tomorrow at the earliest.

Until then I shall continue to swing wildly between feeling pregnant and knowing for sure I'm not. Fun(!)

I've taken two further tests (clear blue non digital) and both have been faint BFP's. I think I might be pg....

Sorry for not posting much, I'm in complete and total shock as we weren't actually ttc. AF is due tomorrow so I'll be resting again and hope to see a darker line.

Hello to kitty kk, I'm a crazy lady too and instead of using internet cheapie tests I've wasted about £40 on branded ones!

Frettchen - keeping everything crossed for you, the wait is agony sad

Winter - fingers and toes crossed for you too.

KittyKK Fri 10-Jan-14 06:17:33

Wonderful news GoldenDaffodil! Look forward to hearing how your test tomorrow goes smile

Today is my 10dpo....this week I've had 6 BFNs. So silly (and upsetting myself) testing this early!!!

Just done a CB digital sand it says pregnant 1-2 weeks!!!
My hands are shaking as I write this, I still can't believe it's happened.

KittyKK Fri 10-Jan-14 07:44:22

Amazing news Golden! A wonderful feeling of it being definitely "official" when you see those words on the little screen!!!

Excited for you x

OrangeFizz99 Fri 10-Jan-14 10:03:33

Congrats golden!!

booisgreat Fri 10-Jan-14 13:22:19

congrats golden. that is brilliant.

AF got me today but I am not too worried as I was experimenting with different vitamins and increased my luteal phase from 11 to 14 days and no pre af spotting either and my progesterone is the same as when I was pregnant!!

On to the next cycle. only 4 left. We had given ourselves until easter and then we ware going to call it a day because of my age.

Winterbluessummersoonish Fri 10-Jan-14 21:43:09

Congrats Golden grin amazing news

AF arrived yesterday which is fine, and will see what the next few months bring!

Frettchen Fri 10-Jan-14 23:36:26

Congrats Golden that's fantastic news!

i did a silly thing and tested this evening. It came back negative but I'm not counting it as a real try and will have another go tomorrow with my FMU.

Frettchen Sat 11-Jan-14 08:09:03

Tested this morning and got another negative. No period yet, shall give it another 24hrs and see what happens.

mrsb87 Sat 11-Jan-14 08:37:48

Congratulations golden!!
You must be feeling very excited!
Hoping for bfp's for us all soon

mattsmama Mon 13-Jan-14 22:40:17

Just wanted to say big congratulations to all those with a BFP ! So pleased for you all. grin

Frettchen Tue 14-Jan-14 14:09:24

Still no BFP and no AF. I'm pretty much resigned that AF is coming, just have to wait a little bit longer (and not think about the one remaining test sitting in the bathroom)
