Well I thought I'd get the ball rolling and start up the October bus, there's plenty of cake and wine on board and extra comfy seats for relaxing into those BFP's

On computer now, so just added myself. This bus is quiet at present! The Sept bus is manic. I am an old member of the bus groups but left a couple of months ago due to being disheartened by mc and the amount of cycles I had being trying compared to some who were getting instant bfp's! Feeling slightly better now! grin

flame40s Sat 07-Sep-13 18:23:56

Aww funkymonk sorry to hear about your mc and the disheartening sad

I learned a lot on the September bus... that I was turning into a symptom spotting crazy woman!

A lot more chilled now about ttc and currently on holiday in Malaga.

Good luck to everyone on this bus.

Hi funkymonk, sorry to hear about mc, I'm at about the same place as running and hiding as becoming disheartened by amount of cycles ttc compared to the seamingly instant bfp's, symptoms last cycle were madder than usual but still turned out to be pre AF nonsense so not going to get hopes up at all at anything until missed AF!

Good luck everybody

flame40s Sat 07-Sep-13 23:17:07

Slightly envious of the young females on the bus... sorry sad

Im 42 and think its all working ok as got positive ov results last cycle on clearblue. Boyght cheapie ov sticks from amazon this month though so keeping my fingers crossed but not my legs!!

If I told my friends I am ttc at this stage of my life they will think I am insane as they just would not understand why. Rant over grin

Kemie Sun 08-Sep-13 16:38:38

flame I'm not as young as others at 34 (dp is 38) I feel old to be ttc number 1 so late, not out of choice, just that I've not been in a position to earlier, I've always wanted kids and am struggling with waiting yet more time for it to happen (if it does at all)
I understand your envy though, but I know mums who had babies in their 40's who were planned, I'm sure you and your new hubby will have the new addition to your family soon. Good luck

flame40s Mon 09-Sep-13 00:25:18

Thanks Kemie. I'll be willing you to conceive first now for that vote of confidence smile

Just getting over a relatively mild Af and hoping to get lots of fun sex in so oh doesnt feel too under pressure this month. Im planning on pinning him down for early morning dtd whilst engaging in relaxed naughty sex at nights. That should hopefully work well with ov dates... I hope grin

Kemie Mon 09-Sep-13 07:41:22

Good luck flame, sounds like a good plan, I'm currently staying with my parents for prolonged a/l when oh has chosen to go back to work, will be returning just at the point my fertile window opens, I try not to tell him when that is, and be all relaxed but he works it out!
Was reading about the effects of anti-depressants on spermies yesterday and wondering if that's the reason it's taking a while, I need to convince oh to get to dr's for an analysis to see what's going on, I know he wants to stop a/ds but it's not as easy as just stopping them sad

flame40s Mon 09-Sep-13 08:49:26

How long has he been taking the a/d kemie ?

I would seek advice on what impact they may have, im sure you could even google it and get some facts... Basic stress and fatigue can also reduce sperm count!

Since I showed my oh that I got a fixed smiley on my opk he started getting performance anxiety. He had no problem getting hard but couldnt deliver the ingredients... we talked about it and it seems to have lifted now... all was good last night!! I think my plan this month will work.

Try and talk to your oh Kemie it will help. smile

Kemie Mon 09-Sep-13 11:18:14

Yeah I'll be talking to him once I get back home, it's not the conversation I want to have over the phone. He's already decided he's firing blanks anyway and is willing but nervous to get tested, he's been on a/ds for a few years now, and would like to get off them but that's easier said than done.
We've decided to take some time off after Xmas and go on a (last minute deal) exotic holiday, to relax, it'll also give me something else to obsess over other than ttc.

Btw, I broached the subject of a/d's and effects over the phone with OH, suggested googling it. He took it surprisingly well and said that at least we had an excuse to visit the dr. to discuss things.

Kemie Tue 10-Sep-13 19:44:55

english I have to arm myself with many ibuprofen plus pills during AF, sleeping with hotwater bottle (well microwaveable equivalent) hope the pain passes quickly for you

englishteacher78 Tue 10-Sep-13 19:51:13

I'm at the tag teaming stage: ibuprofen then two hours later paracetamol then two hours later ibuprofen etc. ridiculous .
Fortunately DH was able to pick me up from work.

funkymonk Tue 10-Sep-13 21:20:29

Oops, I got mixed up. I'm cycle 11 not 12. Not that it feels much better!

I envy those of you with pms! At least you know you have raging hormones! I have absolutely zero af symtoms. After all my research I think I have low progesterone (pre-period spotting, shortish luteal phase, ridiculously light periods) and started taking B6 last cycle (50mg throughout). This made one day less spotting and 1 day longer luteal phase!

Hi funky, I also get spotting, was on 50 B6 which did nothing, then last cycle upped it to 100, the only difference I noticed was really sore boobs for a week and a half (not good with symptom spotting) have gone back to 50 now and if it doesn't make a difference by time I've finished the pot I'll not be bothering with any more, hope you get more success with it.

flame40s Wed 11-Sep-13 00:02:30

Hi all, welcome aboard to the new October crew... lets make Octobe bus a right positive bus... destination BFP!!! smile

flame40s Wed 11-Sep-13 00:57:29

Hi kemie so glad you talked about it and even more so that he was so willing to tackle it. My oh hates anything medical especially our gp!!! Cant blame him really... Long story.

We have set a personal target that if we havent conceived after 6 months we will seek tests from a clinic if poss...given our ages.

Did you find anything via google?

flame40s Wed 11-Sep-13 01:11:42

Hi wineandchoccy love the name btw smile

Given you only came off the pill in June see these last 2 months as body and organ preparation for conception. How long was your cycle before the pill... can you even remember?

I take a daily pregnacare pill now as a supplement and just look at it as prep for a healthy pregnancy. Im trying not to be too desperate about it even though all around me I see babies and pregnant mums to be.

I dont even know if I actually ovulate every cycle!! So I am resigned to expect things to happen later rather than sooner.

Got to stay positive and keep looking after my body so im in great health before pregnancy smile

Hi flame, there are some concerns reported by Dr Google, there was a report which suggests they can reduce count by 50% and affect morphology and motility. I hope it's not the case but I think OH would be more at ease with spermies being rubbish for reasons other than just him. Who knows but we'll talk properly at the weekend when I'm back home.

Hi kemie, I think its def worth him talking to a doctor and seeing if he can be weaned off the meds. Hopefully its not causing a problem but if it is then at least you know. Is he in a position that he could try stopping them?
How long is your luteal phase? This cycle I'm going to try 50mg b6 up to ov and then 100mg after. Did you try for more than 1 cycle? I believe some women need to try it for a few cycles to see the difference.

Kemie Wed 11-Sep-13 19:46:23

Funky, I only tried it for one cycle but was on 50 for about three months prior. If they were the cause of extra sore boobs for almost entire 2ww then I'd rather keep at 50. I have a regular 28 day cycle give or take a day every now and then with spotting a couple of days before, haven't temped or used opk's as OH prefers I didn't (to much science and pressure on him), so I just use my days app and guess really. Going for reflexology on Friday, although last time I went she said I was very healthy and everything is doing what it should, and not to worry about the spotting.
Re OH, he'd like to come off a/d if he can, only on a low dose at mo but at least we can go to GP and discuss it more/maybe get some tests to see what's going on.

SaltySeaBird Wed 11-Sep-13 21:04:36

Kemie I was also 34 ttc#1 and he's now 4 :D That seemed easy actually. DH crows that he has supersperm, I think we were exceedingly lucky having a BFP on cycle 2 and only managing to DTD once that cycle as he was away with work!

TTC# seems to be a slower, less lucky situation. I have a plan though..

Kemie Sat 14-Sep-13 10:16:13

Welcome to all the newbies on board, finger crossed that October is THE month!

I've been feeling really down all week, it's just not happening fast enough and the usual seemingly surrounded by pregnant people and new babies! Although stopping in Exeter services on return from holiday my mum confirmed that I wasn't going mad and that in fact we were surrounded in a big circle of babies whilst I was supping my (decaf) coffee!

Went for reflexology yesterday, and came out feeling a different woman! Mood completely lifted, it has successes with fertility but I totally recommend it if only to feel better, hopefully it'll work on the baby making front as well.

Good luck to all

flame40s Sat 14-Sep-13 11:40:01

Hi everyone... welcome aboard from me smile

Thanks for the tip kemie I will defo look into reflexology.

I am currently lying in bed with pillow under my hips trying to assist spermies upstream (too much info I hear you say? Pah!)

I am expecting ov in 2 days so have been busily working on my plan and it seems to be doing the trick. grin

My plan is fun sex at night where he can come or not!! followed by dtd in the morning where he delivers the goods!! Every other day! but he is liking this plan so has also been daily.

I bought some fabulous long black leather gloves in Spain and whipped them out with some killer heels which did the trick!! So its a late morning rise... mwahaha.

My moto is have fun with it...

good luck everyone... destination BFP smile

This is my month!! I fizzled off the September buses as I was on holiday.last period was a few days late, probably due to long haul flight, so I'm not 100% on how this cycle will be affected by that but time will tell.

May I jump aboard please?

Good luck everyone smile

Milknosugar33 Mon 16-Sep-13 10:21:58

Hi everyone,

I'm a total newbie to mumsnet but think I have the hang of the info you need for my ticket on this bus!

I'm ttc #1, cycle 3, BFP 11 October.

I'm 32 and DH 34.

Is that everything?!

Have to say I am a bit gutted to have not hit the jackpot already as I have been using ovulation sticks (is that what OPKs mean?!) and have four friends who are pregnant who got it right first time. They made it sound so simple and got my expectations sky high.

It also doesn't help that I'm hugely impatient and now we have decided to go for it I would like it right now... but seeing you all on here, and finding we're all in the same boat (or bus!) has given me reassurance that we are not the only ones!

Going to try and stay positive, keep off the booze, eat well, keep up with the pregnacare and DTD every other day.

Fingers crossed, and good luck fellow passengers!

jaykay987 Mon 16-Sep-13 10:47:05

Hello.

AF is now super super heavy - so I think Im CD2.

Im just catching up on the bus chat so far...fingers crossed this is a very lucky bus for us all! grin

Please can someone update the bus? (In on ny phone and can't do it). My BFP is due 19th October. (Im currently dateless near the bottom of the bus). Thank you!

SoMuchFruit Mon 16-Sep-13 10:55:57

Hi all fellow bus passengers smile

Hope a good weekend for everyone. I am CD6 today but AF still very faintly lingering. Had a plan but now am doubting it due to google. Stupid google.

DH & I were going to DTD every 2nd from today (although, maybe tomorrow now that AF is still sort of here) and then over a few 3 day periods that would cover the fertile days of 27 day-34 day cycles.

However, read over the wknd that 3-4 days of DTD every day could be counterproductive. Now I am fretting about that confused

Was planning on starting SMEP tonight, but DH has come back from the Great North Run with a (ahem) delicate injury! hmm
Don't think this will be our month either at this rate!

jaykay987 Mon 16-Sep-13 21:05:00

Somuchfruit - your plan sounds good to me. Similar to SMEP which is highly recommended.

English - that sounds interesting and painful!

panicmechanic Mon 16-Sep-13 23:13:30

Hi Somuchfruit, I asked my GP about that and she said quality can deteriorate if you dtd for 3 days running but if you are doing SMEP you will supposedly have a 'reserve' already there so it will counter balance. Last month I did SMEP but I think we lost steam at the wrong point sad

Hi all, I'm CD3 now and AF seems to have disappeard. V weird as I had such a long cycle (42days) last month i was expecting the period from hell! I was on the pill for about 9 years so guess my body's still adjusting?
Has anyone else had this happen? It's so frustrating spending years worrying about an accident happening that when you finally decide to get upduffed it takes bloody ages!
Anyway rant over! grin

Hello ladies, no offence but gutted to be here, just been kicked off the September bus even though af not due til Saturday according to FF and when I ov'd.
This was my first proper post pill cycle and only 26 days so I should be happy about that at least.

englishteacher78 Tue 17-Sep-13 07:30:35

Hey Choccy, there's room next to me and a box of tissues! Sorry you've had to join me!
My DH's injury was caused by him wearing a pair of shorts he'd not worn on a long run before and going commando! hmm
He won't be making that mistake again. He's also saying he's really poorly with a cold. But claims to be looking forward to the three days running on the SMEP!

Awww thanks English ((plonks bum next to English))
Your dhs injury sounds painful!

Have just ordered some Conceive plus for this month off amazon smile

jaykay987 Tue 17-Sep-13 07:59:39

English, Choccy - room for a small (read large) one? I ordered conceive plus yesterday too. I think luck comes in threes - mind if I tag along?

englishteacher78 Tue 17-Sep-13 08:23:29

Conceive plus? Please explain to the silly not quite newbie?

Milknosugar33 Tue 17-Sep-13 08:34:54

And while someone explains Conceive Plus can someone also explain SMEP for this newbie! Soz.
I'm on Pregnacare, he's on Wellmans and I've ordered a fertility monitor. Always nice to see a smiley face!
Also, had been DTD straight after the first positive sign after the POAS method, but read yesterday that a positive line means 12-36 hours to go til ovulation. Oooos. I was getting positive line for two days, then none, so I'm guessing the third day is ovulation?! We'd stopped by then. He was knackered! Ha ha!

Kemie Tue 17-Sep-13 08:41:03

Hey, due to lots of AF type cramping during the day I think I ov'd yesterday (cd14) OH has developed a cold man flu though so no dtding, managed cd 11 and 12 and that is all so far this month (fx it's enough)

english concieve plus I believe is a lube which helps spermies swim through to where they need to get to.

Welcome newbies, sorry AF got you and is playing with your emotions.

Kemie Tue 17-Sep-13 08:46:38

milknosugar SMEP is a conception plan where you time dtd I think every other day until a smiley face/lines on opk then dtd every day for 3(?) Days have a rest for a day then dtd again. I think I've got that from what I've read but not actually tried it.

Jessewalt Tue 17-Sep-13 10:01:58

conceive plus meant to be better than preseed, the same sort of stuff.

Waiting to test on the 26th fingers crossed
I'm 33, we've waited three years before ttc, and this is our first attempt. Here's to beginners luck!

leezl Tue 17-Sep-13 12:13:19

Frostina the September bus is on thread 4!

Far from stalled frostina ha ha!

SoMuchFruit Tue 17-Sep-13 17:38:10

Thanks PanicMechanic & JayKay .. I'd never heard of SMEP until now. I am clearly way under-informed. Read up on it now and I see the similarities. If this plan doesn't work will try the actual SMEP plan next cycle.

CD7 today and weirdly have something that looks .. (a bit TMI so look away now if you don't want to read this bit..)

Like watery EWCM but with a pink stain to it. AF is officially gone since Sunday evening but yesterday on CD6 there was some pinky/red EWCM type stuff when wiping. Is this just a lingery AF ?

Somuchfruit, might be ov bleeding......

SoMuchFruit Wed 18-Sep-13 10:41:34

choccy could I ov so soon after AF leaving ? Is that possible ?

Today is CD8. DTD last night and plan to do EOD apart from 3 days when will DTD every day (over ovulation dates according to calendar)

johull Wed 18-Sep-13 17:35:23

What cd day should I test on if I ovulated (and I did) on cd12 x

charleslingus Wed 18-Sep-13 17:42:11

Maybe give it till 14dpo johull, if you can wait that long as you have more chance of an accurate result.

So that would be around CD 26.

Most people start testing around 12 dpo (CD 24 for you) but there is the risk of a false negative and a wasted test!

Depends how iron your will is really?!

charleslingus Wed 18-Sep-13 17:42:43

Good luck if that's soon?

Let us know!

johull Wed 18-Sep-13 17:47:13

Thanks very much. I'll keep you posted. It's the first time I've ovulated since having inplant taken out so an very nervous. If its a BFP I believe its likely I'll MC as its so soon. Lots to worry about x

johull Wed 18-Sep-13 17:48:27

Also just realised I should be on sept bus but I don't want to jinx anything so I'll stay here if that's ok. More comfy than the sept bus and not as full :-)

Xxx

SignoraStronza Wed 18-Sep-13 18:14:29

Can I hop on? Am 34 and ttc#3. This is the first time I've 'actively' ttc - the other two were more of a let's see what happens approach! BFP 2nd Oct (is this the same as date af would normally be expected to visit?).
Plenty of ewcm (and rampaging hormoneswink ) in the last three days so we'll see what happens. Expect I'll capitulate and test early though. Got a night out next Sat so don't want to test before then - do I need to worry about stopping drinking in the run up to testing though?

charleslingus Wed 18-Sep-13 18:33:02

Hi signorastronza (are you really a stronza?)

I don't think you need to worry whilst ttc, unless your verging on the alcoholic side of drinking. The egg doesn't live off your body till post implantation, so generally you get a bfp and that's when to stop!

Some people do give up in the spirit of being healthy whilst ttc alongside maybe losing weight, eating well and taking vits. But we are allowed some fun and it could be months so no point denying yourself!

I remember someone's gp sister saying something to this effect on mn but I'm not claiming any medical background (disclaimer)

Jo, stick with us, we need some action, when are you testing?

johull Wed 18-Sep-13 21:18:52

Aw thanks :-)

I'm testing on the 26th!!! I ovulated on the 12th and an due AF on 19th-22nd so it depends in what comes first

X

johull Wed 18-Sep-13 21:32:21

http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/results-by-day-past-ovulation.php

Just found this, seems like a good tool to use to decide when to take a test after ovulating. It shows you're more likely to get an accurate reading 17-21 days after you ovulate. But in all seriousness who can wait that long??? I'm dying to test now but I have 9 days to wait. X

jaykay987 Thu 19-Sep-13 06:09:44

That's my website of choice johill. I like the graphs! smile

So....AF intensity is starting to wind down, cd 4 here today.

Im starting to get super positive about this bus.....my life seems to have frequent instances of Sod's law! DH is due for a boys week end, followed by two days away with work from 18th Oct. BFP/AF is due on 19th. So, if/when I get my BFP this month, Id either have to tell him over the phone, or wait 5 days to tell him! I'm terrible at internalising information, but can't imagine telling him over the phone. So, I'll have to turn to you lot to get me through!

Plus, I want to tell PIL and parents after 12 weeks, but before Xmas if I can (fingers and toes crossed) So this bus is my 'last' chance to follow this dream.

Plus Im a little superstitious - third month lucky?

So johill, you'll be first to POAS. How long do we have to wait for this bus to get rolling?

Morning all! Jayjay I'm hoping for third time lucky too. Not sure when AF is due, she's only just buggered off so probably about the same time as you. This month I'll be trying OPKs and am trying to temp as well but I work shifts so its a bit hard to track it.
In fact I'm still at work now, only just over an hour until I get to go home to bedsmile Can't wait.
Hopefully get to DTD every other day this month, just to cover all bases.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Milknosugar33 Thu 19-Sep-13 07:16:55

I'm hoping for third time lucky too!

And (if I can be so bold this early in the morning) am planning a bit of a shagfest next week!

But, as a newbie, I would like some advice please. I have opk'd the last two months using cheapie sticks and have had two days with two strong lines.

Having read a whole heap more info on here over the last couple of days, I now know that the LH line means you are about to ovulate not that you have.... But how can I be on the brink two days on the trot?!

Both times the lines have come have been on a Thursday and Friday so should we be DTD on Thursday, Friday and Saturday?! Wednesday too? Sunday for luck?

I've seen the SMEP plan, but with two LH days I'm not sure if timings.

Ultimately I'm trying to stay calm and pragmatic, and not think about all this too much..but i cant help it and would really like to give us the best chance possible! Any tips?!

charleslingus Thu 19-Sep-13 07:52:26

Hi milk, I think some people's surges last longer than others. I'd just go for it as soon as you get a positive for 3 days, skip a day than another 1 or 2 times just in case of a slightly later ov.

You could temp, this would tell you once you've ov'd. So with opks and temping you could pinpoint it better!

Good luck

SignoraStronza Thu 19-Sep-13 09:40:05

Charleslingus No, I'm certainly not a Stronza (well, only rarelywink ). Just thought it made an interesting username. Thanks for the advice re alcohol. Am not a huge drinker, but have a rare night out/away next Saturday so will probably leave it until Monday 30th to test, which silk be day 28 of my cycle (usually 30 days). Will see how it goes - if I'm lacking in stamina for the night out and don't fancy drinking then I'll just 'know'. The other two were concieved first month of trying well, saying to hell with contraception so am quietly hopeful, even if knocking on a bit now. DC2 is a June birthday too so that would mean two in the same month! Will be obsessively symptom spotting for the next 10 days or so whereas last time I just had a 'feeling' and tested on the day af was due.

jaykay987 Thu 19-Sep-13 10:20:18

Milk - surges can easily last more than one day.

As an example I had three positives (ie a LH surge) which did not result in ovulation. Then 5 days later I had another two positives which did result in ovulation (according to temps). So it's like the body builds for it, then if it doesn't happen hormone levels level out and then they try again a few days later.

Typically my temp rise (evidencing ovulation) happens three days after my first positive test, though last month it was the next day whilst I still had a positive test.

They say the most fertile days are ov-3, ov-2, ov-1, ov and ov +1. So if you ov on a Sunday the best days to dtd are Thursday-Monday.

So depending on your pattern of ov date compared to OPK positive there is a further variance. So for me, assuming ov happens three full days after first positive, I should dtd on the day I get my first positive for 5days straight. However if Ov the day after my first positive (like I did this month) I should dtd from two days before my positive OPK through for 5days.

Plus the extra complication that a temp rise proves ovulation, but some people's temp rises a short while after ovulation not necessarily same day.

So allin all, no matter whether you temp, or OPK or use monitors or symptom spot, no one ever knows 100% exactly when the ovulate smile

Well, that's unusual. The ewcm seems to still be going - has been from days 14-17 of a 30 day cycle so far. We've dtd on days 12, 14 and 15 but dh is out tonight and am wondering whether I should stay awake and pounce on him when he gets in. Is a full moon tonight too - not that I'm usually woo about such things, but any excuse to squeeze am extra shag in.
Perhaps should have mentioned - am still bf my 15 month old and have only had about four periods so far. Am pretty sure am ov though, as generally get really rampant all the usual symptoms.
Will send him a booty call text tonight and see how quickly he makes it back from the pub. wink

Milknosugar33 Thu 19-Sep-13 17:25:58

Thanks so much Charles and jaykay. It sounds like I need to get me a thermometer! Now where do you get one of those?!

I have ordered a cbfm but it hasn't arrived yet and after reading on here that You need to start on cd1 I'm going to try as hard as I can to get upduffed next week so i don't need it. It'll be the best 60 quid I've ever wasted if I can!

Also, can i just thank whoever set these boards up for keeping me sane! Me and my OH have decided not to tell anyone we're trying or if we are lucky before 12 weeks, so I really appreciate everyone sharing their stories and answering my concerns.

It is so strange to spend all day thinking about something and not to be able to talk about it with anyone I know! Except OH of course, but he'd much rather concentrate on DTD then the science behind it!

Thanks all. I'm really hoping this October bus is lucky for us all!

Well that's answered my question. Am definitely ov right now! Familiar pain, in left side this time, came on about half an hour ago. DH thinks I'm crackers but is humouring me (and afterall, he's the broody one here).

We'll have one for luck tonight, just in case there are none left hanging around from Tuesday night's effortsgrin and then fingers crossed for a bfp!

johull Thu 19-Sep-13 19:11:31

Hi jay you can certainly tell us before your oh. :-)

I'm due to test on te 26th if this month but am sceptical because I haven't had a period since having my implant out!! So it might not be but I'm stating hopeful because I have been told its possible to fall pg before you actually get a period after implant. Fingers crossed. I take ivulation test everyday and it hasn't been positive since possible conception day.
Bloody bloated ATM, very tired ( but I teach 11-16 so that might be why) and I'm feeling sick e dry morning until about midday. The only thing I'm not having is sore breast. Like... No pain at all and I hear that's the most common hint!
Xx

johull Thu 19-Sep-13 19:12:25

Oh and I'm bloody hot recently. Window open whilst teaching today and blazer off. Poor kids were freezing x

johull Thu 19-Sep-13 19:15:44

Milk no sugar I'm the same. Keeping it to ourselves as coming off implant seems to correlate with MC and I'd hate for anyone else to know if I MC.

Let's keeping using this as our outlay. I know it won't be long. I've got a feeling before Christmas which would be great BUT that means summer- ish babies and trust me that makes a massive difference at school :-(. Bless the little summer babies. Not the most intelligent bit seem to be the nicest, happy go lucky and creative x

Looks like the bus is picking up pace! I'm not confident of my chances this month, as we haven't been able to start trying until tomorrow (cycle day 12)due to feeling really under the weather. I seem to ovulate variably between days 12 to 16 so I'm hoping, but am also quietly unconfident.

Time to join the October bus, September AF came early, but better early if it wasn't meant to be this month. Morning everyone,

I get to POAS today! Well, an OPK, but it's my first time trying them, and I'm excited! It's the little things...!

charleslingus Fri 20-Sep-13 09:46:48

Ahhh, let us know how it goes owlie,

Love a live poas. Have you done it yet?
Best of luck!

SoMuchFruit Fri 20-Sep-13 10:33:51

Good luck Owlie!

CD10 here in the Fruitbowl. Have been sticking to the plan to DTD every other day - it's been fun grin, keeping it lighthearted with frisky texts during the daytime. DS is currently sleeping very well too and not appearing in our bed at 4.30am which is great and am hoping is an omen.

TMI question again (sorry) ; DH has a lot of manjuice, product, stuff no idea what the most acceptable term is on MN but you get the idea I am sure. Anyway, after DTD there is leakage. What does everyone else do about this ? Or am I concerning myself with nothing here.

I haven't been doing handstands but I usually sleep like the dead until the morning lie down for a min of 30mins afterwards.

Owlie84 Fri 20-Sep-13 10:48:22

thank you! I'm going to do it after work, so I'll let you know the outcome!

SoMuchFruit I have that too, we usually put a towel down, and I lie there for about 20 mins after DTD. Why does it have to be so messy!

SoMuchFruit Fri 20-Sep-13 10:54:14

That's very organised Owlie .. I usually just shuffle back over to my warm and dry side of the bed afterwards grin however this does taker a little bit of limbo to ensure the wet spot is not in my territory. I claim there is a dodgy pokey spring over there..

Do you worry about loosing too much with the leakage ? (Or am I insane)

Owlie84 Fri 20-Sep-13 10:59:06

Haha!! Good shout! It's his stuff afterall! wink
But yes, I did worry about losing too much, but I have read that what needs to stay, travels to the right place, and the waste product is what is left behind. I think that's right anyway! So I'm trying not to worry, and as long as you lie there for a bit, it should be fine.

SoMuchFruit Fri 20-Sep-13 12:32:34

I thought I was a bit mad worrying about it. Wasn't sure if I should have been doing something to stop it (handstands ? Somekind of plug?)

This is only cycle 3 and I am worrying about all sorts of random stuff.

What/where did you read about it ?

Owlie84 Fri 20-Sep-13 13:29:59

I think I read it on one of the older conception bus threads. I've learnt so much from everyone on here! smile

Springtime - Ive only used the advanced. I know lots of people dont like that you sometimes get more than two days high readings (flashing smileys). I like that you get lots of warning sometimes. So deepening how you feel will impact which type you prefer.

In terms of numbers.....it all depends when you ovulate. Th first month I used them I only used 4, as I ovulated quite early. However last month I used 14 as I ovulated late.

There are expensive, but I prefer. To buy the box of 20. Each test is much cheaper. Plus, I don't think Ill be annoyed if my BFP arrives, and I aren't used all the tests!

I've just bought a new box....Im hoping Sod's law will kick in and I won't use many as Ill be getting my BfP this month! grin

VJONES1985 ttc#1 cycle3 bfp due ?

CooCooCachoo Sat 21-Sep-13 22:11:16

Sorry to hear that VJones, I was surprised at how sad I was to get af this month even though only going into 3rd cycle.

How do you keep it upbeat when you've done all the counting and dtd on recommended days? I am now impatiently waiting for af to finish up to get going again.

Anyone using preseed type stuff or opks on cycle 3? I'd like to but don't want To put any pressure on DH by suggesting that we might need a bit of extra help....

My DM told me yesterday that it took her 3 years to conceive my older sister, I had no idea! my DS was conceived on 2cycle but can't elp b g a bit worried....probably not helping.

jaykay987 Sun 22-Sep-13 11:07:48

Morning everyone. The bus is starting to fill up now - not long to go until October!

Any early testers symptom spotting already? Any of you tempted to test in September?

AF has gone now (cd7 today). I've now got the long wait through until ovulation. I hate this wait - I think it's harder than the 2ww! I have almost two weeks before I ovulate. I think it's harder as it feels unfair, as those with normal cycles don't have this punishment (!) plus there's no symptoms to spot! I spend it stressing about trying to guess when I might ovulate, and then trying to work back whether we'll be able to dtd at the right time! Week days are out for us (unless I really pursue) as is dtd two days on the trot. It's a minefield trying to work out the best approach.
I hate this bit of the month! Did I say that already?!

VJONES1985 Sun 22-Sep-13 13:44:41

Hi jaykay. I'm on cd2 and have about 16 days to go until I ov so I feel your pain. I think aiming for pg this cycle will be a bit optimistic so am just hoping my luteal phase gets longer.

Kemie Sun 22-Sep-13 14:56:42

jaykay I'm nearly half way through 2ww, due on 1st oct but I'll know before that as I always get some spotting a couple of days before AF (does mean I'll get to move to the back and stay on the bus which is good as it is going to be such a lucky bus) managed to Dtd 3 times around ov time (not exactly sure as don't get all scientific) but we've both been all poorly and something tells me cycle 7 isn't gonna be the lucky cycle either. Don't mind though as one of my very good friends is getting married at the end of may and I don't really wanna miss it, plus a July baby may coincide with grandma to be's birthday.
I'm surprisingly feeling a bit more relaxed about it this month, that could change though, hormones and all that!

VJONES1985 Sun 22-Sep-13 18:41:03

Well, af started yesterday and is already nearly over. Don't you just love the first few months off the pill???

How long does EWCM last for as I think I've already had it for 2 days? and it stops after you O right??
feeling a little more hopeful today smile

Good luck everyone

jaykay987 Mon 23-Sep-13 14:34:34

hi keep swimming. that's good news. are you still using opks? everyone has deck for different lengths of time, so difficultto say. if you haven't had positive opk yet - then your timing is probably good!

Hi all. Not been on for a few days, just read back a few posts.
Sorry to see you here Jessie, fingers crossed its your month smile

For those wanting to know what we do to.....ahem....plug in the man juices......I normally get some tissue ready, wrap it around DHs willy when he's 'done', he slides out and I plug myself with the tissue with my bum up. Sorry if TMI, but you asked ha ha!
And have my conceive plus today on cd8, lets get jiggy!!

hi choccy that sounds very tidy! grin I dont think i could bring myself to plug it in, i would be worried about risking cystitis!

We have the possibility of a visitor during the 2ww, she will confirm at end of this week if she is coming. Hmm, I think this may mean some very creative dtd, cannot let it get in the way with our every second day plan!

Come on October BFPs!

SoMuchFruit Tue 24-Sep-13 07:53:46

Wow Choccy ! That is dedication! Thanks for the answer. I am not sure OH would be enthusiastic about that but I am impressed at your tenacity.

If I am on a 27 day cycle it should be CD14 for me (Ov day) so far we have been DTD every other day. I don't really want to use OPK's etc just yet but this random cycle business is frustrating as I am not really sure when I ovulate.

Is there anyone else not using OPK's/Charting etc that has irregular cycles ? Mine have varied between 27 and 34 this year so far, with 29/30 being the average.

SoMuchFruit Tue 24-Sep-13 07:56:50

jessieagain .. awkward, definitely some creative DTD needed!

Good luck Owlie

jaykay987 Tue 24-Sep-13 08:23:31

somuch - are those considered irregular cycles?
Mine vary a little. February was 29 days, normal is 30-32, but June was 39. I didn't think I had irregular cycles - just annoyingly longer than average.

I temp and use opks so can't help with your other question. Though since starting my ov days have varied by 5 days (cd17-cd22) so without tracking I'd have no clue.

SoMuchFruit Tue 24-Sep-13 08:31:53

I don't know if they are 'officially' considered irregular jaykay but as I've been reading about lots of ladies who are literally regular to the day every month I was considering them irregular.

Normal for me is 29/30 but the shortest (last month) has been 27 and the longest was 34. Not huge variation but enough to cause confusion!

I thought I'd give the eod idea go for a couple of cycles then if nothing by Christmas I will give the OPK's a try. I am not sure about temping, I regularly wake up in the early hours due to a mix of DS trotting around the house and my own minor insomnia, so not sure whether temping would work for me.

I am going to buy some preseed though. I am pretty sure I don't have enough EWCM so Preseed it is!

Just dtd very quietly jessie. We used to live away from home and always had someone staying it seemed, or we were back home visiting, you've just got to get on with it lol!

We've always done the tissue thing. One to clean dh up as he withdraws, then plug it to get me to the loo lol! So this is just an adaption for ttc!

So, am a little confused. Last month was my first month off the pill and ttc. I got one day of ewcm, but quite thin, on cd14 then a positive opk on CDs 16/17.
I am currently on cd9, last night I had the same thin ewcm. Still stretchy, but not very thick. I did an opk yesterday at 11.30am just to see, and only one line so a clear negative, but then I had the mucus.
My cervix is super high, to a point where I can only just touch it with the tip of my middle finger.
Could I be ovulating this early?? My cycle length last time was 26 days. I haven't tested today yet.

PurpleGeekyGirl Tue 24-Sep-13 09:00:23

Choccy I do the tissue thing too. Re ewcm my cycle on a 25 day one means I ov on cd11 so ewcm this early is normal for me.

Will have to start with the opks for sure then smile. I've only got 8 left, so may have to order more as I want to do them twice a day as not to miss it.

PurpleGeekyGirl Tue 24-Sep-13 09:04:51

I've got a load of ic opks that just don't work for me at all. Does anyone want them for postage? There's tons of the feckers!

Oh purple, didn't see your post before I just ordered 30 more (but they're only about 10p each) smile

jessieagain Tue 24-Sep-13 10:37:14

The main problem with having a visitor stay will be the late nights up, we will be tired when we get to bed, but will have to just persevere with making the effort! I just wish it was the week before or after.

choccy I don't think ov on or after cycle day 9 is too unusually early for a 26 day cycle, it also means that your lp will be hopefully be longish, so that is a good thing!

sparklesandfizz Tue 24-Sep-13 11:12:25

Could I hop on board please, ttc#3, cycle 1, BFP oct 9th 33 yrs.

Hopefully Jessie, just didnt ov til day 16 last time and had a short LP.
Can you have a session in the morning wink

jessieagain Tue 24-Sep-13 13:44:13

choccy not a chance, not with our ds, 6.30 am is a lie in for him!

Will have to be late night/middle of the night quickies I think!

Ha ha, think you'll have to. Know what you mean about getting up early. Our ds slept til 7.10 this morning, in his own bed too woohoo, so that was a fab lie in. Normally in our room on the futon at 1am!
Good luck! We have to have a quickie first thing when I've taken ds downstairs for his milk, plonked him in front of peppa pig and quickly run back up. Oh the joys, and we want to do this again?!?!?

Thanks charlie and purple. I'm ok just a bit grumpy! Af was due today but no signs AT ALL til just before i posted earlier. She's a bitch.

I have had about a gazillion biscuits today, done sod all at work and have a bottle of wine for when i get home. :-) onwards......

Charlie, when do you think you ov on a 26 day cycle?

Nottalotta Tue 24-Sep-13 18:52:37

Also i really must try harder!! More dtd is required.

charleslingus Tue 24-Sep-13 20:08:34

Wine is the answer to pmt grumps, and guilt free too, would be rude not to.

had positive opk yesterday matched with app which says ov today, paired with ov pain last night and 2days of ewcm I think I can safely hope ov was when I thought (cycle day 14) luteal phase is always 14 days later so expecting a 27 day cycle. Phew.

Read that sperm needs sometimes 7 hrs to get to its destination, and lives for days so in fact the days before ov are most important, so did 2 (3 day) blocks of shagging ending today with a few more for luck tomorrow and we'll see after that. Good luck, I found cycle 4 I was a lot more committed to dtd, determined month for us, hope it's the same for you!

Fox82 Tue 24-Sep-13 20:13:38

AF arrived today so can I be added please?

Nottalotta Tue 24-Sep-13 21:44:23

Thanks Charlie - i am just using an app - my days - to work out poss ov date. Had almost 3 days of spotting last month but none this time and af turned up late afternoon so i think i might make a 26 day cycle this time.

Working on the wine....

jessieagain Tue 24-Sep-13 22:02:53

Hi notta sorry to see you here.

I wish I had short cycles.

Nottalotta Tue 24-Sep-13 22:08:16

Hi jessie i know what you mean - but we are never happy with our lot! I worry my LP will be too short. Who the hell knows? I sure as shit don't! If i am not upduffed by christmas will consider temping and opks but just shagging til then! (need to shag more....)

SoMuchFruit Tue 24-Sep-13 22:27:34

Hi Notta, also sorry to see you here. thanks

jessieagain Tue 24-Sep-13 22:35:49

That is true, and at least I get af regularly, so many others worse off.

Surely we'll be upduffed by Xmas!! The chance is 1 in 4 every cycle so I won't be thinking otherwise. Of course it will happen!

(Although I've got my opks ready to go, but that is as far as science will help me as I don't think temping would suit my lifestyle unfortunately)

wispaxmas Tue 24-Sep-13 22:52:32

I think 7 hours is a bit on the long side of an estimate of how long sperm takes to get to the egg.. Apparently it can be only a matter of minutes, or a couple hours, but I think 7 hours would be a sign of low mobility in the sperm. Also, the quicker ones will be healthier and thus better equipped to fertilise that egg!

But yes, the 2 days pre ovulation are the best, as eggs can die in as little as 6 hours! However, unless you have fertile cm, the sperm won't survive the journey, which is why preseed comes in handy if you don't get EWCM.. It helps the little guys survive.

jessieagain Tue 24-Sep-13 23:05:08

wispa really!? I didn't know that about ewcm!

We are going to be trying well before ov as I want to try and increase the chances of conceiving a girl. The theory of pre/post ov and gender was relevant to conceiving our ds (I believe) as dp was away for the first part of the cycle when we conceived him and I actually though we had missed the window completely as it was just after ewcm had stopped when we started dtd that cycle.

jessieagain Tue 24-Sep-13 23:09:16

Just to add we didnt use opks with ds, I actually ordered them during his 2ww as I thought we had no chance! So I just guessed ov time as had ov cramps and ewcm.

jessieagain Tue 24-Sep-13 23:11:29

jaykay987 Wed 25-Sep-13 00:41:06

Aggghhhh. Im very annoyed today. Despite leaving for work at 5.30 this morning, i had to work so late there were no trains home. I'm now in a horrible hotel with no toiletries, no make up nor a change of clothes to go into work tomorrow.

Has this annoyed me? No. I am however super annoyed that I can't temp tomorrow morning, will miss tonight's vitamins and tomorrow mornings vitamins.
Ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

wispaxmas Wed 25-Sep-13 07:28:54

Jesse, it's something to do with the ph levels in your cm, and it's usually too acidic for the little guys.

charleslingus Wed 25-Sep-13 07:54:03

Ah Jessie that sounds rubbish, don't worry about your vits, the reason we take them before conceiving is so we have a store, so you've probably built up a good vitamin level, just get back on them when you can, frustrating I know.

Just thinking if we got pg this cycle would be able to tell grandparents on Christmas day, how lovely would that be! (Would normally tell them earlier but would probably wait for such a lovely time of year)

charleslingus Wed 25-Sep-13 07:55:22

Ahhh jaykay not Jessie, sorry jaykay. Morning brain.

jessieagain Wed 25-Sep-13 10:04:23

jaykay oh no! That would be annoying, but I'm sure it will make no real difference overall missing your vits and temp reading.

No makeup or change of clothes does sound like a nightmare though! I'd be heading out before work to go and buy some.

wispa that is interesting!

Morning all, in my effort to get healthy whilst ttc I'm trying to give up smoking. However I'm on a 12 hour shift, we're understaffed and I'm stressing angry so I feel I might not be as good today.
Also thinking about the big glass of wine I'll inhale at 9pm when I get home.
Hope everyone else has a fab day x

jaykay987 Wed 25-Sep-13 12:06:07

haha Jessie. I would - but the only thing around here is a wh smiths! luckily they sold toothbrushes! not sure they would stretch to mascara or a new top!

Hi Ladies. Hopping on board from the September bus. I'm on cd56 and no AF (and a million BFNs), but started using OPKs again and got a positive on Sunday so jumped DH immediately!

Cycles have been so irregular I'm guessing at my BFP date...

HisLommel Wed 25-Sep-13 13:09:18

So-
HisLommel ttc#3 cycle 1, bfp due 22nd October.

Owlie84 Wed 25-Sep-13 13:32:25

Oh I'm confused!

I have a fairly regular 27/28 day cycle, and according to the OPKs this month, I ov'ed on CD12 - is this too early? (the My Days app has its heart set on CD15, but I guess I should trust the OPK over an app?)

We didn't dtd before I got a +OPK, but we did (just about) on CD12 and CD13. Have I missed my chance this month? Should we still dtd? I've got a bit of a achy back and a twingy right side today, so I don't know what to think.

Sorry for the vent! blush

wispaxmas Wed 25-Sep-13 13:52:11

You can ovulate up to a couple days after you get a positive opk, so if your opk was positive on CD12, you could have ovulated any day from 12-15 or so. Do you keep track of cm as well? If you get EWCM it should vanish when you ov. But the only way to know the date for sure is to check bbt for the temp spike.

But it's also possible that you have a longer than average LP, which isn't a terrible thing. Way better than a short one!

MrsB2013 Wed 25-Sep-13 13:56:47

Hi ladies I've just got off the Sept bus can I get on this one please?

MrsB2013 ttc #1 cycle #3 bfp due 21st

My opk's have arrived today so hoping they will be useful, never used them before!! I'm on cd2, when do I need to start using them?

Owlie84 Wed 25-Sep-13 14:08:52

Ok, thank you wispaxmas! I don't think I get a lot of EWCM, I had some on CD11, then just the usual CM for a day afterwards, and now nothing. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

jaykay987 Wed 25-Sep-13 14:23:43

owlie - what wisps said smile

mrsb- do you know approx how long your cycles are? mine average at 32 so I start using them cd10. I think cd8 is about normal time to start. usually the instructions give you an example

I'm back. Technically I'm not here as me and DH decided not to 'try' this month so no temping and opks and just DTD cos we wanna. Last long haul holiday really messed with cycle few months ago so with my trip to America this month thought it'd be less stressful for me this time round (which is actually true). Still can't be away from you mn guys too long. Does this make me a mn addict?

Welcome back fox. I know I haven't been trying quite as long but hugs and eat lots of chocolate for me (I'm on a diet after all the American portion sizes). I know it sucks.

I don't get a lot of ewcm as far I as remember. I've bought some conceive plus and want to use it tonight, no ifs or buts! We've had a busy few days, ds has been a nightmare to put to bed so after dinner I've been flat out knackered. Have still negative opk, so we're still pre ov smile so lots of BDing will be had over the next few days.

I don't care if we have a boy or a girl tbh, I just want another bubba. Yes, one of each would be lovely, but a brother for ds would be equally as lovely smile

Hi Owlie, I have 28-29 day cycle and usually ovulate on day 12/13. It's not too early; we're all different.

jessieagain Wed 25-Sep-13 21:31:09

choccy I'm the same, would love a brother for ds but would also like to experience parenting a girl. Feeling really broody at the moment, so just want a baby!

It is funny, I've always been very broody, wanted children young, but waited. I even went off the pill about 6 years before we started ttc (left it all up to dp who wanted to wait, he was very fastidious with condoms lol) but then after I had ds I wasn't at all broody again until the last month or 2.

VJONES1985 Wed 25-Sep-13 21:53:30

Hi all. I'm having a funny week. After af arriving last week after just seven days again, I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that my lp is far too short and it's not gonna happen for us for a long time. I'm sad and frustrated but nothing I can do!

onelifeonechance Wed 25-Sep-13 22:05:57

Room for one more? I'm stomping on from the Sept bus, been in a grump all aft since af showed up, dtd loads around ov time so not impressed. But I have thrown caution to the wind and just ordered myself a cb fertility monitor, sod the expense, this month I mean business!!

Hello to those who know me, how you getting on? Hello too to those I don't know, i'm not usually this grumpy, promise I'll lighten up soon smile

If someone could add me to the list that'd be great as i'm on my phone

onelifeonechance Wed 25-Sep-13 22:08:08

PS anyone using fertility monitors?? If so any top tips??

onelifeonechance Wed 25-Sep-13 22:10:14

Ah Vjones I do feel for you, share the frustration of just wanting it to happen but somethings just aren't in our control no matter how hard we want it or try. Know that is no help to you but hope you get some comfort from knowing others feel the same

VJONES1985 Wed 25-Sep-13 22:15:14

Yeah, it's horrible. Am still on the b6 and just hoping and praying that it makes a difference soon.

Right so cd12 today and I've just finished my 12 hours shift from hell. But I know that I'm coming up to O day and I'm on nights and DH is away this weekend. So instead of having a cup of tea when I get in I forced him to DTD and spend 10 minutes afterwards letting gravity do its job. Feeling the madness set in tonight smile
Sorry to hear you're having a hard time VJONES, hoping it gets easier/over quickly!

Thoroughly recommend conceive plus wink

jessieagain Wed 25-Sep-13 22:41:00

Vj sad sorry to hear you are feeling down. No advice sorry, but don't give up flowers

VJONES1985 Wed 25-Sep-13 22:43:42

Thanks, all.

choccy - is conceive plus for people with low ewcm or what?

MrsB2013 Wed 25-Sep-13 22:53:06

Hi Jaykay - My 1st af off the pill was 30 days and this one was 28, so I think I'll go with whatever it says for 28. I've got the CB smiley face ones, I know they are expensive but I'm hoping I only need them for this cycle FX!!

VJONES1985 Wed 25-Sep-13 22:56:30

MrsB - out of curiosity, how have your luteal phases been since you came off the pill?

MrsB2013 Wed 25-Sep-13 22:56:59

Choccy - I'm using conceive plus as well. Started using it last cycle, but only managed to dtd twice as DH was ill sad

This cycle I am going to use the opks, try temping, use the conceive plus, try not to be ill or DH be ill, and I've got the Seven Seas Trying For A Baby Vits! I have been taking just folic acid on its own and Vit d on its own.

VJONES1985 Wed 25-Sep-13 23:00:03

I've been doing all of the above. Just waiting for my luteal phase to behave :-(

MrsB2013 Wed 25-Sep-13 23:01:30

Vjones, I'm not really sure as haven't used opks yet, but going on stomach pains the last 2 cycles, I think it was 13-14 days? But that's if I even Ov in the first place!

I do worry that being on the pill for so long is going to cause problems, I know it doesn't affect fertility, but it can mask problems!

VJONES1985 Wed 25-Sep-13 23:03:14

It's not just that, longterm use often causes a b6 deficiency, which leads to short LPs. Luckily in most cases, it's temporary.

MrsB2013 Wed 25-Sep-13 23:05:40

VJ have you thought about trying reflexology?

I've started having an Actimal everyday, they do have B6 in them, not sure how much? My friend was ttc for about a year, then started having them and fell pg that month.

VJONES1985 Wed 25-Sep-13 23:07:58

I'm already on 100mg of b6 a day so probably not worth me having that on top.

Would be interested to see if reflexology works though!

MrsB2013 Wed 25-Sep-13 23:12:25

I've read that reflexology and acupuncture can help with fertility. I'm thinking of trying it, maybe this cycle if not then defo ready for the next!

I know how you feel, I'm so impatient and really thought we'd get lucky the first cycle, but now thinking this could take a year or longer! I'm 32 and feel like I've already left it quite late for a first baby.

CleverOl10 Wed 25-Sep-13 23:20:53

Please can I join? Very new to these sites so not clued up on all the lingo but here goes! My son is 3.4 and I finally feel brave enough to try for #2! This is first month ttc. Af due on 2 oct so fingers crossed can test after that.

Hiya, I'm not on this thread but just popped on to see if some of my august bus pals have joined and how you're all doing smile Really hope this is everyone's month. I'm 10 weeks now, and now feel I'm in another dreaded 2ww until the end of the first trimester!

Milknosugar33 Thu 26-Sep-13 06:42:50

MrsB you can sit with me on this bus! I'm 32 as well and also thought we'd be lucky first time. And inevitably I have thought about age as well. We're trying for our first too.

This is the third cycle now and I'm due to ov tomorrow so DTD last night, and will be tonight and tomorrow... And Saturday if he can manage it!

I've also thought about acupuncture and reflexology. Last month I went to a spa for a few days and wondered if that would help! Sadly not but worth a try!

Last night I saw another new baby scan on Facebook and my colleague's baby is due today. If only there was some consideration given to how much time we think about babies as we try to conceive! We'd all be upduffed in no time!

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 06:55:53

Milk and Mrsb can I sit by you too? maybe we can bags the back seat I'm also 32 and trying for first baby.
Milk your last post is as though I've written it! I just kind of hoped we'd get lucky as know lots of couples recently who have got pregnant really easily but it's proving harder than I thought for us and the realisation that we only have so much control and it may take a while is dawning as now on cycle 4. Trying to contain my fears and think positive, know it's still early days in the grand scheme of things but it feels like bloody forever my life has been taken over.
Also had a full body massage last month to help me relax, know there's no link between massage&upduffness but it was v lovely if ineffective! may have to try it again this month just to check

Good luck dtdeeding Milk! smile I'm only on cd2 so in the boring/grumpy bit, roll on ov

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 06:58:43

PS i'm off to buy some Actimel, willing to give anything a go!

englishteacher78 Thu 26-Sep-13 08:13:03

Headachey and nauseous hmm

mrswalsh77 Thu 26-Sep-13 08:15:44

Hello ladies! Can I join please?! We've had a really rough few weeks and a BFP in October would be the most amazing news! Attempt no 3, BFP due 9th Oct. According to my days app, ovulate tomorrow & DTD Mon, Tues, Wed....shock wink xx

charleslingus Thu 26-Sep-13 08:17:06

Hi tea, how are you feeling? Hope it's all going well. When is your next scan? Do you think you'll find out the sex? Such an exciting time, hope I'm in your shoes soon.

12 looooong, imaginary symptom filled days till I can test...waaaaaaa.

mrswalsh77 Thu 26-Sep-13 08:19:25

Forgot to add it's a first baby for us!

charleslingus Thu 26-Sep-13 08:19:36

Hi MrsWalsh, how old are your other two? Sorry you've had a hard time, hope you are rewarded!

So are you going to power on through grin

charleslingus Thu 26-Sep-13 08:20:33

Ahh, sorry read that as attempt at child #3

So rubbish in the morning.

GnomieGrace Thu 26-Sep-13 08:29:13

Hi just checking in with you ladies! I'm on a sick day today on day 3 of AF and last night woke up to the sharpest most painful cramps I have ever felt, it was like AF was playing piñata with my womb! I had vomiting and diarrhoea too, Dr Google said that these are commonly associated with Dysmenhorea which is just the proper term for really painful AF. Does this mean anything? I'm on my 4th cycle post cerrazette and my last AF was painful too, but not as bad as this one. Sorry for the super long post but feel tired in pain and grouchy.

jessieagain Thu 26-Sep-13 09:57:36

Hi gnomie that sounds horrible sad Did you used to get sick like that before you started the pill? I have no experience with that at all sorry, but I just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon flowers

SoMuchFruit Thu 26-Sep-13 10:20:30

Gnomie that sounds rough. Hope it sorts itself out soon.

Working off the 'average' 30 day cycle I am CD16 today. We've been dtd every 2nd day so far, with a couple of days over the weekend of every day. I am thinking that it's a 30day cycle this time, based on EWCM.

I haven't got loads, but there is still definitely some, on wiping. Can I ask a TMI question of the EWCM experts ?

I haven't got loads of EWCM on wiping/general inspection (!) but much, er, wetter, during DTD than usual - is this a sign of a reasonable amount of EWCM ?

PurpleGeekyGirl Thu 26-Sep-13 10:31:05

soMuch I find that too, am literally oozing (tmi!!) during my fertile period when dtd and a lot wetter than at other points. hth lol!

SoMuchFruit Thu 26-Sep-13 10:43:24

Thanks PurpleGG .. I end up asking the most bizarre questions on here and yet someone always has an answer/experience to compare grin I actually think this is the most frank place on the entire internet!

I was wondering if you had to have lots of EWCM all of the time or whether what was around during DTD was enough of a guide.

PurpleGeekyGirl Thu 26-Sep-13 10:45:24

soMuch

agree there's stuff I share on here behind the anon persona I'd never talk about in person!

As long as the ewcm is near your cervix it's enough as the sperm are released up there so to speak. I often feel a bit wet on one or tewo days but normally only notice ewcm when wiping after the loo. I'm too squeamish to check my cervix and see what's happening there!

SoMuchFruit Thu 26-Sep-13 10:55:39

PurpleGG - yes! Some of the stuff I ask on here I'd be extremely reluctant to talk about in person with friends (definitely not my Mum!) and I am not a prudey kind of girl!

Gawd.. near the cervix ? I don't have a lot when I wipe but there appears to be a whole lot during DTD. I assume hope to god that's near enough to my cervix!

I also haven't check my cervix.. does everyone ? shock This another thing I am clueless about. You'd think having had one LO I'd be a bit less of a novice at this blush

MrsB2013 Thu 26-Sep-13 11:20:12

Hey milk and onelife

We're you both on the pill before ttc? I was on it for 12 years and stopped it at end of July.

I think trying to relax will help with ttc, but when you really want something to happen it's hard to relax and try not think about it. And at 32, although it's not really that old, I really want it to happen soon, I want a baby before I get to 35!

MrsB2013 Thu 26-Sep-13 11:22:16

Hello other newbies smile

Fingers crossed this will be a lucky bus!

I was on the Aug and Sept bus so recognise some names from there

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 11:51:25

Hi Mrsb, yeah I was on the pill, initially microgynon then because of migraines moved on to cerazette, all in all was on it for 8ish yrs, stopped in Feb this year in preparation for beginning to ttc in July thinking I was being super organised and getting it out of my system but doesn't seem to have paid off! I even started taking folic acid over a year ago as read something somewhere about 1yr+ of it being good - I must be the only woman in the land who was taking folic acid and the pill at the same time! hmm I've cut down on drinking but not stopped yet there has to be some positive about getting af eat well, go swimming, don't smoke etc etc but the one thing I don't seem to be able to do is so thinking about it and now i'm stressing that i'm making myself stressed and everyone says not to stress or it won't work! How are you not meant to think about it though when you are literally counting each day of the month and thinking where you are in your cycle?
Sorry appear to have shared bit much there but helps to offload sometimes! Are your cycles regular after the pill?

jaykay987 Thu 26-Sep-13 12:05:17

Oop....Im 32 and trying or first too. Wow - that makes four of us!

Im away this weekend. Opks are negative so far. Im now hoping tomorrow is negative too, so that I don't ovulate before I see DH Monday! smile

Im feeling positive this month. Really hoping this is a lucky bus!

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 12:15:18

Come and join us on the back seat jaykay smile Sorry i'll try to cheer up, hope your positivity rubs off on me quickly! Think i'm just blue because i'm in the horrible af bit still licking my wounds from last cycle and feeling like there is forever until i can do something practical (and fun, mustn't forget the fun!) about this cycle. Plus DH has been away all week and i'm missing him slaps self round chops must pull myself together

I'm waiting for my fertility monitor to arrive and i've also ordered a bbt thermometer so going to give charting a go this month there is a small voice in my head telling me how mad i am and i should just chill but im trying to shut her up with science What CD are you JK? Fingers crossed you get your positive when DH is back, get ready to pounce grin

MrsB2013 Thu 26-Sep-13 12:23:54

Ohh 4 of us all 32 and ttc #1!

Onelife, yes I had a 30 day and 28 day cycle, so I'm happy they have returned and been regular. They were always regular before I went on the pill, although have been very light since coming off it. I was on Microgynon for 7 years then had to change because I was getting a breakthrough bleed, so I went onto Femodene.

I did speak to my doctor about a year ago, wanted to know when to stop taking it for ttc, she just told me as soon as you stop, its out your system, so can start ttc straight away hmm I know some people do get lucky and conceive 1st month off it, but from reading on here, seems like lots of people have problems, with af returning and being regular. Sorry went on a bit there lol

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 12:27:14

Just updated the list to add myself on, i've popped Clever and MrsW on too so think it's looking good, not long left now for the first testers - good luck! smile

Mine are really light too - have had 7 of the buggers now and they aren't getting any heavier, i'm not complaining! My cycles are on the shorter side have mostly been between 23-25 days so think they're regular and that's just how i roll lol.

Ooo looking at the list me, you and Jaykay are all due to test within days of each other too - fingers crossed for a mass BFP party for the 32 gang! grin and everyone else too of course! Hoping this bus is a lucky one smile

Milknosugar33 Thu 26-Sep-13 12:37:27

MrsB, onelife and jaykay - this back seat is four copies of the same person!

I was on Microgynon for 12 years as well! Came off in January ready to try later this year – again thinking I was super organised.

Actually thought I was preggers in February which was a bit of a shock, but I wasn’t I was just over-worrying. Now I would love to be preggers and I’m over-thinking about it and it’s not happening!

In terms of supplements, I take spatone iron water – not for pregnancy, just coz it boosts my immune system but that has some folic acid in it so I have been on that and the pill as well!

Now I am also on pregnacare and DH is on wellmans.

I’ve been OPK-ing for the last two cycles, my BBT thermometer arrived on Monday and my Clear Blue fertility monitor has arrived today! I am hoping I won’t need it and It’ll be the best £60 I have ever wasted!

I haven’t completely stopped drinking but this month I’ve only shared a bottle of champers once. polishes halo

I just cannot stop thinking about how much I would like to get pregnant now. The time is so right for us, but Mother Nature has not been listening so far!

A HUGE part of me is hoping for third time lucky, but I am also trying to remain realistic so I don’t get too upset if it doesn’t happen.

The last two months I have had strong OPK lines on two days and have DTD on those days, but not the day after – hence this month I am keen to DTD the day before, the days of them, and the day after if we can manage it.

If that doesn’t work then I have the monitor ready!

How wonderful would it be if all four of us could manage it this month! I am SO hopeful for us!

The only problem I have is a touch of the lerg which is making me feel a bit bleugh, but I’m ignoring it as much as possible!

Fingers so tightly crossed for us back seaters!

ELR Thu 26-Sep-13 12:38:19

That evil bitch has just chucked me off the September bus, so jumping on here for the October ride hopefully third time lucky and last bus I catch!

ELR Thu 26-Sep-13 12:42:17

ELR ttc #3, cycle 3 BFP 24th Oct

mrswalsh77 Thu 26-Sep-13 12:50:22

I'm 36 and TTC #1. Came off cerazette last September but only really focused on ovulation etc for last 3 cycles. DH lost his dad 3 weeks ago as we have both been distraught. Needless to day DtD took a back seat for a few weeks..... Making up for it now. I'm of work this week but poor husband is going off to work exhausted! It'll all be worth it in the end!
Anyone else TTC no 1 after 35? I've heard it gets a lot more difficult! confused

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 13:08:02

OMG Milk you are me (i'm now worried i actually have a split personality and I'm sat talking to myself through the medium of Mumsnet!!) I completely relate to every single thing you have just said (apart from i've not got the lurgy so you can keep that to yourself thank you please, go and sit by the window for a bit and get some fresh air!) (oh, also i can't say my halo is super shiny but i'm so wanting it to work this month i am even willing to forgo wine - the ultimate sacrifice!)

Exact same thing here - used opks for first time last cycle, dtd on the days before and up to ov but not after so that is our game plan for this month. Out of interest do you dtd every other day, every day?? around ov. We don't normally dtd daily but we made extra special effort last time and now i'm wondering whether DH had tired sperm and we'd be better off doing every other day, but then also don't want to miss anything, why is it all so hard, makes me laugh at us now looking back at how fastidious we were using condoms after coming off the pill thinking any sl touch might get me pregnant wrong

You have made me feel a million times better just knowing i'm not the only one feeling like this - thank you flowers

Ooo i'm super excited now grin My monitor should arrive tmrw, read the instructions online super organised streak keeps shining through or should that be freak so i'm ready for it, even stumped up the extra postage cost on Amazon to get it quicker, also hoping it's the best waste of money ever! smile

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 13:09:24

ScienceGeekGirl ttc #1 cycle 7 BFP ~beginning of Oct

Can't give exact date as not opk or temping but from CM I have maybe OV?!?
It's my 29th birthday in a week and I'm starting to irrationally freak that my goal of being a mother before turning 30 isn't going to be met. I know it's just a number and I'll be no different a mother at 29 than 30 but one of the reasons I decided to ttc now was I naively thought I would still be a 'young' (young < 30 in my silly mind). Guess there's still about 3 months left to try but just seems so unlikely somehow.
Know its a bit of a downer but anyone else think like this too?

Ha OneLife! Sisters from different Misters!

I have opk'd for the last month and had two strong days - which I wasn't expecting. We DTD on both days, but not either side.
I was sure that would do it - after it worked for three friends. AF arrived. I got sad/annoyed. Then I got proactive!

Bought the thermometer and the fertility monitor. Have been temping for the last two days and expecting positive opk's today and tomorrow, or tomorrow and saturday - I have fairly regular cycles.

We DTD on Monday and yesterday, and will try again tonight, tomorrow and Saturday if we can.

Not sure it will be the sperm that are tired, more likely DH! But he wants it as much as me and is being as good as gold.

You have made me feel better too - thank you flowers

This thread is fantastic for support. I'm so grateful. No one else knows we are trying, and we don't plan to tell anyone if we are lucky either. So hard keeping something that i think about THIS much completely quiet!

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 14:14:33

MrsW - I'm so sorry to hear about your father in law, it must be a very hard time for you all and why it would be even nicer if you get your BFP this month - fx for you, good luck smile

Science I've popped you on the list. I suppose the age thing is all relative - depends if you're asking someone older or younger! It's not daft to think like that, it's normal for us all to look at our own situation and worry at times, but it's also important not to let the worry take over and to look at all the positives as you really are a great age to have a baby so hopefully it will work for you v soon. Goal setting has it's place and it's good for us to have something to aim for but the more i'm going through this process the more i'm realising that you have to be willing to move the goal posts occasioanally

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 14:26:58

Ah your hubby sounds like mine Milk I want it for him so much as he is being so supportive and a real trooper. I know how lucky i am to have him want it so much too as it must be so hard if they're not as keen. Hope he's got lots of energy for tonight then, have fun wink

I know i'd be lost without this thread - i haven't shared the fact we're trying to conceive (and how much it is consuming me) with anybody - one friend does know because she directly asked but i made out we were fine with it all as we were in a restaurant and i knew the flood gates would open if i really told her how i was feeling. Feel guilty about that though as feel as though i'm lying to friends but it's such a personal thing, i've been so close to telling some of them but then a few days later always feel so glad i didn't, so hard but so glad can unleash my thoughts on here

SuzB83 Thu 26-Sep-13 14:36:36

Science I know what you mean. I had planned on at least being pregnant before I turned 30 (which was at the end of August), thought that it would be so easy... would just come off the pill and get pregnant straight away. Obviously this didn't happen and I have to say I was a bit gutted at the time but now feeling a bit more relaxed about it. Like you say, it's just a number..try not to put too much pressure on yourself flowers

Bloumer Thu 26-Sep-13 15:21:38

Hello all, can I jump on the Oct bus please?

Bloumer ttc #1 cycle #3ish? BFP 6th

I've been on hol for the past few weeks so had a break from MN due to sporadic Internet availability. Also stopped OPK-ing as we're travelling around a lot and it got a bit challenging! Had EWCM, sore boobs and nausea last weekend so am assuming I'm 4 dpo-ish.

Still have no idea re cycles as I have only had 2 days of spotting (last month) since I came off the pill in April - so can empathise with those who came off early thinking they were being organised! Last month I had EWCM one week then +OPK the next - so who knows whether my symptoms last week were really OV or not. Sigh!

On the plus side I've been very relaxed due to holiday mood, and dtd lots - so FX!

Tea1Sugar Thu 26-Sep-13 16:35:16

Hi charleslingus smile Scan is on 11th oct, cannot wait! Had one at 8+2 bean looked very happy so I just hope everything remains ok. Still constantly knicker checking! How are you?

Blimey, you lot have been chatty today!!

Welcome newbies, sorry you're here, hopefully most of us will be lucky on this bus.

Hope you had a fab hol Bloumer!!

Well, think ov is coming up. Crampy today and I've actually got some ewcm woohoo!! Been out all day so will do opk later.

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 16:58:39

Can you tell I've joined the bus choccy?! grin Cramps&ewcm sounds good to me, get dtdeeding immediately!

Ha ha onelife, definitely wink
Opk neg still

Just checked opk again and a slight line. Last month I had nothing, then it got stronger and stronger, so I'm guessing Saturday i'll hopefully have a positive smile

Liquidambar Thu 26-Sep-13 20:33:52

Hi. Can I join you?

I have been tempted to join the buses for a long time.
I am not sure this will be my month as I ovulated earlier than expected. I am only 6dpo but can't avoid symptom spotting (all in my head of course!)

Liquidambar ttc #2, cycle 4 BFP 7th Oct

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 21:05:36

Excellent choccy perfect for weekend dtdeeding then, always makes things easier I find!

Hi liquid glad you've hopped aboard, fx for you, fed up of the 2ww yet?!

We don't 'work' as such onelife, so weekends don't make a difference to us grin (no, we're not benefits peeps, I just have a very clever hubby)

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 21:52:48

Ooo i'm intrigued now, what is he clever about? Are you able to divulge?

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 21:55:05

Lottery numbers?

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 21:55:34

Inventor of the post it note?

onelifeonechance Thu 26-Sep-13 22:01:22

Property tycoon?

MrsB2013 Thu 26-Sep-13 23:28:51

I find these buses really helpful and everyone is so supportive! We haven't told anyone we are ttc, don't want added pressure of people asking has it happened yet. DH has been wanting us to ttc for about 2 years, but I wanted to get married first, so now is the right time, I really hope it happens this month!

I've worked out I would be about 12 weeks at Christmas, so would love to announce it then!!

I ordered a thermometer today. Amazon are making some extra money off all us crazy ladies at the moment lol

CleverOl10 Fri 27-Sep-13 00:09:33

Was thinking the same about Christmas. Would be lovely to tell everyone then!

Bloumer Fri 27-Sep-13 02:10:36

Choccy is it you who rides? I reckon you own racehorses and your DH has an eye for the winners. Please tell me you have a whole wardrobe full of amazing hats.

I'm not up in the middle of the night btw, sitting in an airport waiting for a flight home. If I'm lucky this month my bean would have been conceived on a sea cliff outside San Francisco (sounds romantic until I add that we were in an American-sized camper van!)

SoMuchFruit Fri 27-Sep-13 03:28:13

LOL Bloumer that still sounds very fancy! At least you are up for a reason. I am just being really insomniacky tonight.

Chocky that sounds idyllic!

MrsB - I am finding the buses very supportive and a fantastic displacement activity too. We also haven't told anyone we are ttc either. I sort of want to but then the expectation every month/well meaning excitement might freak me out when I am disappointed when it doesn't happen sad

Third guess lucky onelife, started 6 months after we started going out 16 years ago, just bought our 12th house grin
I 'retired' 4 years ago, him 7 years ago, hence we then started ttc our ds. We said years and years ago in a dream like voice how lovely it would be to have kids and be able to both look after them and take them/pick them up from school etc etc, and here we are grin
It's taken a lot of risks, but it's always paid off. We do run them ourselves though, so we do 'work' sometimes. We've just spent the last week painting and renting one out, so that's all done now. Next one due Nov/Dec, but we're letting our own house and moving ourselves, so less stressful smile. Can't wait, just bought our forever house, but needs a bit of work but it's bloody lovely!

Bloumer, lol, I love hats, but sadly no, I only have a few summer hats smile

And bloumer, I think that is very romantic if you did conceive then x

wispaxmas Fri 27-Sep-13 08:25:45

That's awesome choccy! Tons of risk and lots of work at times, though, so I wouldn't say you don't work.

Anyone on the bus planning to test early, or is everyone going to 'be good' and wait for your BFP date?

SoMuchFruit Fri 27-Sep-13 08:29:54

I'm not having a 2WW so not going to test until at least after 9th Oct, preferably not until after 11th or so I say now

I must say, we've just had the last 6 months off wispa, no phone calls, problems, people moving etc, so that was nice wink

jessieagain Fri 27-Sep-13 09:04:52

That sounds great choccy ! Early retirement! We are lucky that dp gets to pick and choose at his work which means lots of time off not working....But he is interested in taking another contract away from home again so hopefully will have bfp by then or else we will be juggling things around my ov time which makes things tricky!

jessieagain Fri 27-Sep-13 09:09:19

It would be a great Xmas present. I fell pregnant with ds in oct and we had a lovely snowy 12 scan a couple of days before Xmas smile

Aww Jessie, that would be great wouldn't it! A lovely Xmas pressie!
We only told the parents when we found out. I was about 6 weeks when we told them. We lived 3.5 hours away, and we found out 10th December. We went back the day before New Year's Eve as we were out with our friends back home for nye,cso we told the parents then.
We didn't tell anyone else until after 12 weeks though, even though I spent the whole nye trying to convince 15 people I was on antibiotics wink
My mum is a retired mw, and despite not knowing were trying, and we'd not made any hints about kids at all, as soon as I refused a choc chip cookie about 10 mins after getting to their house from ours, she said 'have you got something to tell me?' Wtf? shock

We got to see ds early jan as I had a bleed nye just to make matters worse so I was glad we told the parents as my mum sorted me with an early scan back at our then home smile

And, it's great having the men at home isn't it grin. Hope he doesn't go too far for you at the wrong time though!

charleslingus Fri 27-Sep-13 09:49:32

So glad it's all going well tea, you've brought back lots of lovely memories about how exciting it all is, I'm even looking forward to giving birth (rose tinted glasses!) I'm grand thanks, feeling laid back for now!

Keep in touch!

Choccy I have 2 sons and me and my husband are able to take them to school every day and be around all the holidays. We do have a business, but we work from home and very flexibly and not much, so everything is done when they are at school. It is heaven and feel so lucky to be able to live like this.

If we are lucky this month we'll have a private scan so grandparents will get a surprise pic in their card. Love Christmas, this better bloody work.

Fingers crossed Charles, sounds like a plan. Yes we're very lucky to be able to be able to bring children up ourselves aren't we! It's what we've always wanted to be able to do even if sometimes I think work might actually be easier! Don't know how I'd cope on my own sometimes when ds is a nightmare! Like now, he's currently wanting the ipad just because I'm using it!

Kemie Fri 27-Sep-13 11:52:39

Well I'm guessing I'm out already as the dreaded spotting has started grrrr, oh well not to be (which is actually a good thing this month as I don't want to miss my friends wedding by being ready to give birth (although I wouldn't mind too much). once AF has properly kicked in I'll update my stats and jump on the back of the bus..... Here we go again!!

Sorry to hear that kemie least you have short cycles so you can stay in this shiny October bus. Plus it's only spotting so might not be out yet FX

Liquidambar Fri 27-Sep-13 13:33:43

kemi sorry about Af. Are you sure it's af?

choccy that's great that both of you can be home with dc. We both work full time and we don't have any family around so I have a couple of people that help us with DS, otherwise it would be impossible.

bloumer I hope you had a good flight. San Francisco. .. that sounds great!

one I'm very impatient and counting the days... 9 days to end of the 2ww.

wispax last month was very frustrating. I started testing 4 days before. I still don't understand if I got a lot of evaporation lines or if there was something going on but it didn't stick. It was a bit emotional so I think this month I will probably only test on the day if af doesn't show up before.

I hope next month I don't ovulate on Cd 10. I'll be away for work from cd3 and l will see dh on cd 11. Very slim chances for it to happen.

I'm so happy it's finally Friday! grin

Kemie Fri 27-Sep-13 14:01:22

Have had pre af spotting for years so don't even kid myself anymore that it's anything else, normal cycle so due af twice in october, so it can still be a lucky bus for me!
Feeling quite chilled out about it now, the reflexology helped there, hopefully it'll also help with the elusive BFP too

Liquidambar Fri 27-Sep-13 14:09:34

kemi fingers crossed October is your luck month. Have you been doing reflexology for long?

I had a reflexology session on Monday. it was meant to be around ovulation but it was a few days after. Not sure how much it can help with bfp this month but nonetheless it was a great feet massage.

Milknosugar33 Fri 27-Sep-13 14:31:20

Hello everyone!

Today I have a bit of a dilemma going on in my head, and where better to air it than here!

Prepare for TMI!

We DTD on Monday, Wednesday and yesterday and I'm expecting a positive OPK tonight, which I now understand means up to 36 hours before ovulation.
(Had faint line yesterday and cycle has been clockwork since I've been measuring!)

If you were me would you
a) get DH to perform tonight, tomorrow and Sunday (the poor thing!)
b) give him a rest tonight, try on Saturday morning and on Sunday night (more of a break between each)
c) try tonight and Sunday (break on Saturday)
d) any other combo?!

He's game and so am I, and I'm not sure if 'tired sperm' is an actual thing or if it is just tired DH!

DTD is definitely stronger with a longer break in between, but I don't want to miss our window.

I suppose the question is really quantity or quality?!

Any views?!

I LOVE Jessie's idea of telling everyone about a BFP at Xmas!

Bloumer Fri 27-Sep-13 15:00:43

milk I'd try to dtd as much as poss in the 3 days following +opk (ie once a day at least). But we're not machines, so if you're feeling knackered I'd aim for at least twice this weekend (Sat am and Sun pm sounds good). Sperm live for up to 3 days (or is it 5?) so you'll definitely have some around for OV. I think dtd-ing more just means there are more of the little swimmers around, to up the chances of one completing the journey. Hope that helps!

charleslingus Fri 27-Sep-13 15:02:14

Milk, we had that issue this cycle as we were determined to get lots of dtd in before ov, but obviously when ov hits you feel that you have to still keep going. We did, as 3 previous cycles been more relaxed with recharge time, and as you can see I'm still here, so it didn't work for us, so this time we kept going. Didn't want to regret not trying hard enough again. So can't really help you with whether it will work or not, but it'll make you feel like you haven't missed any window iyswim.

Milknosugar33 Fri 27-Sep-13 16:20:53

Thank Bloumer and charleslingus

I was just contemplating whether there is anything in the idea of fresh/tired sperm?!

Sounds like you would both just get DTD-ing as much as possible - so on that basis I think I will too!

I'm not knackered by it, but DH might be! Still, a goal is a goal right!

We stopped on the day of the opk positive the last two cycles so definitely going to keep the momentum up the following days.

Will let you know how we get on!

Milk, I've just read about this online and apparently as long as you dh/DP has a good sperm count, doing it every day doesn't really have too much affect. ie, there are around 100 million sperm released on a normal day, if you wait at least 24 hours in between, there is little difference, something like, 88 million sperm. The website said it sounds a lot, but not on the grand scheme of it all, when only a few hundred get through.
It did, however, say that it you dtd every day for 7 days plus, it would start to have quite a dramatic effect.

I'm due ov this weekend I think, and we've dtd the last 2 nights with conceive plus as I knew dh would probably be out tonight, plus we'll dtd every night for 3 days tomorrow, where hopefully i will get my pos opk smile

Kemie Fri 27-Sep-13 16:26:23

liquid tried reflexilogy once a few moths ago, from last cycle I'll be going every month now, before I went last time I had been really teary for a week, and when I came out I felt amazing and have done since, rebooked for next one instantly and will continue going monthly

fluffythelabcat Fri 27-Sep-13 16:37:07

Hello ladies can I jump on the bus please? Have been lurking for a while but not joined a bus yet.

fluffythelabcat ttc#1, cycle 3, BFP due 24th Oct

Am trying the 'relaxed' approach but it has got me nowhere so far so have caved and going to start temping this month. Am 34 years young.

Hoping for some advice really. This is my first month of cheapy OPKs and today and yesterday had faint lines within the time frame. I know these aren't positives but I'm assuming I'm nearing O day??
I'm also temping this month and no rise yet, guess I have some more time to DTD.

charleslingus Fri 27-Sep-13 16:46:28

Yeah, it got pretty unromantic towards the home stretch, especially as h wasn't feeling very well but his words were 'I want a baby so I have to (dtd)' I was nearly swept off my feet.

He's normally bloody wonderful but I think I really took it out of him (literally) he's even iller now. But hopefully it'll be worth it for all of us!

Hi fluffy, welcome! Have you been using opks? Temping sounds hard but it seems to be the only way to get exact results.

charleslingus Fri 27-Sep-13 16:53:30

Munday, mine start so faint they can be barely seen, then a line but not positive then a positive. From day 8 to day 12/13. (8,9,10,11 were barely there, 11 was darker but not pos, 12 was darker then control this month)

So hopefully you should see a pos in the next day or so, and dtd now is perfect as ov-3 till ov+1 are your prime days! Good luck

fluffythelabcat Fri 27-Sep-13 16:54:29

No not been using anything, the thought of POAS every day doesn't really appeal!! Might add that in next month though!! Temping seems easier (and cheaper) although I know you need to give it a couple of months to see a pattern. I just need to feel I am doing something proactive!!

ThreeFromDesire Fri 27-Sep-13 16:55:58

I'm 9dpo tomorrow and may hAve to test even though I know it's very unlikely anything will show! Lost just under a stone since last cycle on sw and I'm hoping that has made a bit of ttc difference... though I need to lose three more

Should wait until next week really but ne'er mind!!

Good luck three, hoping we get a bfp on this bus soon!

Munday, mine are the same. Nothing, then the faint line keeps getting darker and darker over a few days. I usually only do one per day, but I've started doing 2 -or 3-- just to make sure I don't miss my surge as it can happen in as little as 12 hours, so if you test once per day, you could potentially miss it.

And we'll done three on losing a stone!!

Thanks Choccy and Charles. Feel like I'm doing everything I can this month. DH is away until Sunday watching Football so hopefully I'll get a +ve Monday. Fingers crossed for everyone on the October bus!

CleverOl10 Fri 27-Sep-13 18:23:56

So interesting to read everyone's stories. I am definitely not aa technical and clued up as most. Just used online calculator to work out ov time then dtd! Might need to learn a bit here if I need future months.

I'm still 5ish days away from af due date but it's not that reliable tbh. Strangely have had cramps ever since ov which I don't normally have. But no other symptoms so think it's my body trying to get my hopes up!

GnomieGrace Fri 27-Sep-13 18:59:46

Hi all, I don't temp or use OPK's. Hubby used the term "trying too hard" when I mentioned i was going on Folic Acid 3 months ago hmm So am not going to start a convo on that just yet! I look for EWCM and also use an OV predictor app and try to DTD every other day but haven't been too good at sticking to that plan yet! Am much more determined this month though!

CleverOl10 Fri 27-Sep-13 21:05:01

Just looked back at how many people are listed on this train - there are loads! Surely some of them have to be BFP. Come on October!

Well I managed to persuade him indoors to DTD before he left for the football. Followed by 10 mins feeling a little silly lying with my knees up! But at least I'm on target for the SMEP this month. Now enjoying the sofa and telly all to myself. Hope everyone is having a lovely start to the weekend

Train, lol smile

CleverOl10 Fri 27-Sep-13 21:47:22

Lol I thought a train was a bit speedier than a bus - I'm impatient!

wispaxmas Fri 27-Sep-13 22:44:08

Fluffy, I didn't like using opks, either, but temping was really helpful for me.

Well done on the weight loss, three, and good luck if you poas in the morning, I had shadowy bits on ICs from 9dpo, but they disappeared every other day, it was such a roller coaster, so maybe would have been best to wait until 12dpo before starting to test!

newforest Fri 27-Sep-13 22:46:24

I've got seven days left before I "should" test, but trying to avoid the strong temptation to test a few days early! Who knew two weeks could be so long? And being my first cycle, I'm sure the wait will just get longer.

Snowlet Sat 28-Sep-13 00:33:59

Soooo been reading for ages but only just registered, this is my first ever post!, not sure which bus I should try and hop on (ho on?) but I've sworn I won't test til 1st October so am I in the right place??

TTC #1
1st cycle trying after MC in Jan (5wks)
11dpo

feeling intensely pregnant, based on previous experience, but every day I just convince myself I'm crazy

englishteacher78 Sat 28-Sep-13 06:24:50

Well, the SMEP went out the window this month - only managed to DTD twice!!! Still, a few weird things have been happening so I'm not entirely sure what is going on with my body this month. In terms of my job it really would be good if I could be pregnant by December/January wink

Welcome snowlet and congratulations on your first post! We're honoured it's with us grin
So sorry about your mc, hope this is your month x

jessieagain Sat 28-Sep-13 08:18:27

gnomie lol folic acid is 'trying too hard' what does he think it'll do? grin

Yes! I agree with turning this into a train! Feels like I've been on board an age already! Haven't started any opk yet, still too early as only on day 5!!

Goodluck snowlet let's hope you get a bfp on the 1st and it will be a good omen for the rest of us!

Ah yes englishteacher a few friends who are teachers have managed to wrangle that summer holiday baby! Good luck to you!

CleverOl10 Sat 28-Sep-13 08:23:06

Hi englishteacher - I am in the same boat and could really do with conceiving in the next couple of months. Also my DS starts school next Sept and I'd love to be on mat leave so I can take him and collect him.

That would be perfect clever and English, good luck to you both!

Well, a strong line on the ov test this morning, so fingers crossed it's a positive later smile

Sounds like you're going to have a busy weekend Choccy!
Keeping my FX for you Snowlet- get the ball rolling on our BFP super train, hehe.
I think a summer baby would be lovely, lets hope this is a busy, lucky tread x

MrsB2013 Sat 28-Sep-13 15:58:14

Hello to any newbies smile

How is everyone?

Vjones hope are you ok? You have been quiet on this bus!

Is anyone else taking the Seven Seas trying for a baby vits? After reading the other thread about the Pregnacare ones, I hope they don't lengthen my cycle.

charleslingus Sat 28-Sep-13 16:14:19

Hi Mrs, I am but I can't really help as I'm on day 3 of them grin

Previous to that I just took seven seas b complex with folic acid (which essentially is for ttc as these are the basics required, I just think the trying for a baby one has the same b bits and folic but added iron and lots of extra goodies that can help thrown in) I was fine on those, 26-29 day cycles averaging 27 with three days spotting before af (which is normal for me)

PurpleGeekyGirl Sat 28-Sep-13 16:15:14

I had no probs with the seven seas ones grin

MrsB2013 Sat 28-Sep-13 16:48:53

I'm only on day 3 of taking them too! I was taking folic acid, vit d and vit c all separately.

I'll try them this month and see what happens!

charleslingus Sat 28-Sep-13 16:55:38

Well we can compare notes then!

I grabbed them as they didn't have my usual and as they seemed to have everything I was taking and more thought it wouldn't hurt to build up iron stores. Hope they don't mess with cycles, I like mine but I suppose no spotting would be great.

Pah, still not a positive of my ov test! I've done 3 so far today!

Anyone doing any early testing??

RaRaZ Sat 28-Sep-13 19:29:47

Sorry to butt in again after being so quiet. Pretty sure I didn't ovulate this month so no BFP for me. Just waiting for Day 21 test so I can start to bug the doctor about why I'm not ovulating as I should sad

jessieagain Sat 28-Sep-13 21:32:55

choccy what opks are you using? I thought the line you got this morning was enough?

I think I will have to use opks at around 7pm each day. What with ds and work I think it will either be impossible or I'llforget if I try any earlier. I hope 7pm is not too late to detect the surge.

jessieagain Sat 28-Sep-13 21:33:53

Sorry to hear that rara I hope your gp is helpful.

Jessie, the line was darker than yesterday but still lighter than the test line, therefore negative, then later on it's gone lighter again! Confused!
I'm just using Internet cheapies, but my new ones have arrived and they are different to the ones I was using this morning which I've run out of.
We're dtd often enough anyway, but thought today would be a positive, will try again tomorrow.

CD15 here and another faint OPK line this afternoon. Just hoping I ovulate tomorrow as I'll only see DH tomorrow and Weds next week what with night shifts and a hen do.
Choccy what tests have you bought to try next? I've just got the cheap ones.

jessieagain Sat 28-Sep-13 22:51:57

choccy I didn't realise they were so confusing. I must read my instructions before I start using mine. The last ones I had were positive with a second line, regardless of shade, so I assumed they all were like that.

Do you have any other signs of ov?

Nulanoo Sun 29-Sep-13 08:39:25

Hi ladies smile

I've been having a really rough few weeks at work so unless this month is a bfp we are going to put ttc on hold whilst I find a new job

I've got very few symptoms this month other than having a lot more discharge especially during sex (sorry tmi!!)

AF due on Friday! I've done a first response early test but bfn so I'm hoping it might turn positive or that's us put for a good while really!

Happy Sunday all xxx

englishteacher78 Sun 29-Sep-13 08:59:45

I'm sticking to my not testing until I'm late rule. I can't handle the emotional roller coaster of early testing

wispaxmas Sun 29-Sep-13 09:04:29

Nulanoo, if you're not due until Friday, hold off a few more days and test again, unless you meant you were due Friday past, in which case I don't know. Test again if AF stays away! I really hope you two get your bfp this month, I'm sorry you feel like stopping.

wispaxmas Sun 29-Sep-13 09:06:34

And Jessie, I didn't know there were opks that were positive with a faint line. I only ever used the internet cheapies, though, and they missed my surge apparently. Caused me all sorts of annoyance, and if I was doing it again using opks, I would use them twice daily instead of just the once.

Nulanoo Sun 29-Sep-13 09:19:46

Thank you, AF due this Friday coming is it 4th or 5th?

It's not that we want to stop its just work is so bad I need to move and then start up again. It's just difficult I don't want to lose any maternity rights!
X

Snowlet Sun 29-Sep-13 09:26:33

Thanks for the lovely welcome!

So, argh, felt so nauseous last night (and had such sore knees!) that I almost tested but held strong - roll on 1st October!

GOOD LUCK to all the early Oct testers x

Morning
Not done a ov test yet as only had fmu as my lovely dh got up with ds at 7 and I've only just got up grin

Jessie, I didn't realise there were opks that were positive with a faint line either.

Nuna the only concern I'd have about switching jobs is the maternity pay. Where I've worked in the past, it's always been you have to work for them between 3 and 6 months before you pregnant. One company was a year, but I was 22 at the time and nowhere near ttc smile

Munday, my tests are just cheap dip a stick ones called One Step with green writing and a pink flower on the packet. My old ones were Promatris with green writing on the packet.

pocopearl Sun 29-Sep-13 09:47:36

Can someone add me pls im on myphone
Pocopearl ttc 2 cycle 2 bfp due 7 oct

jessieagain Sun 29-Sep-13 09:56:49

It sounds like im wrong about the faint line. I never actually used the opks (cheapies) properly as got pregnant with ds before they arrived. So I just used them out of interest to see how my cycle was (although wasn't ttc back then) ........and then they expired!!

I will have to read the instructions this time blush

Nulanoo Sun 29-Sep-13 09:59:03

I think it's 29 weeks in my the job I do but I need to look into it more. My other half did point out it gives is time to finish our house off too so it might be a good idea (trying to convince myself) I'm just worried it could take months and months to get pregnant then I'm stuck working in a job that makes me cry every day!

I'm using the One Step ones as well. May try twice a day today as FF app says I'm very fertile! DH back today so hopefully finishing work at 8 tonight I won't miss the window smile
Nulanoo my work says we've got to work 3 months after mat leave to keep the pay. Think all employers are different. FX this is your month.

wispaxmas Sun 29-Sep-13 11:26:36

Even if you haven't been working in your job long enough to qualify for stat mat pay, if you are working you will qualify for maternity allowance, which is basically the same as stat mat pay, but without the 90% of your salary bit at the beginning.

I'm not fully versed in the rules of it, though, just briefly looked into it because of Paris and taking a long leave of absence from work during pregnancy. more info can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/maternity-allowance/overview

Nulanoo Sun 29-Sep-13 13:34:25

Can I also ask a really silly question?! When people say they have cramps do they mean just a general dull sort of ache? Or somethhing more infrequent but sharper? I've got terrible abdominal pains today or do I class this as cramping? So uniformed on this stuff it's ridiculous! Hope someone can clear this up?!?x

GinandStripes Sun 29-Sep-13 14:24:40

Hey Ladies,

I've tried to keep away this month, but I realised doing the TWW without you was torture! The things we do to ourselves. smile

So the last 3 months - pretty much as my fertile window ends I have got sore heavy boobs... this hasn't happened this month. I'm CD21, other symptoms include mild cramping yesterday, occasionally dizzy and a bit sicky.

What do we think? More mind tricks being played on me?

jaykay987 Sun 29-Sep-13 16:14:51

Hello,

I've been away and haven't read through yet. Will do now.

Im having a nightmare this month. My average ovulation is cd 19. Im cd14 today and I think I ovulated yesterday! That's almost a week early! GGgGRRrRrRR! I've been away without OH. So Im worried we've missed it this month.
Only dtd Thursday, and won't see him until tomorrow night sadCan't believe my ovulation is so early. That's 9 days earlier than last month! Plus I didn't get any flashing smileys this month, so just wasn't expecting yesterday's to be fixed. I was so happy Friday morning was "low" as I thought Id have at least 2 days flashing before ov, meaning Id be home and see OH with plenty of time. But temps seem to have confirmed I did ov yesterday (though ff will only confirm tomorrow). So frustrating! It also meant I didn't want to drink yesterday, as I was having terrible rolling cramps across my stomach. Very usual for me to feel ovulation pain so badly!

Plus, one of my very good friends is pregnant though shes not that happy about it - as it was a "one night without a condom" effort. Im happy for her but so torn. She didnt even want to get pregnant again and Im still trying for baby number one!
I know her getting pregnant wont mean I can't but life just isn't fair! (Cue any parents telling me life isn't meant to be fair grin)

So, looks like I'll be jumping on the November bus shortly. I'll hang around here and console myself in your lucky BfPs for the next week or so first!

Now Im off to catch up with everyone's news!

charleslingus Sun 29-Sep-13 16:41:52

Sorry you're having a frustrating time jaykay, but at least Thursday would be prime fertile time if you did ov yesterday so don't lose hope!

I ov'd early one cycle and af was earlier too, so watch out for a shorter cycle. At least if you don't get your bfp the chance to try again should come round quicker. Hopefully you will though, your still in with a good chance!

charleslingus Sun 29-Sep-13 16:42:55

«You're» stupid autocorrect.

CleverOl10 Sun 29-Sep-13 16:54:49

Was a bit silly today and did an early hpt. It was a BFN but I'm still 3-4 days before my AF is due. Think it was because it is first month ttc and just overly optimistic! I have more signs for AF than PG so wasn't really expecting anything. Will be very good now and wait for AF to come (due Wed) and hide all HPTs til after then!

Nulanoo, in terms of cramps, I've had both sorts of thing you describe, but then in my view its probably just AF so can't really help!

jaykay987 Sun 29-Sep-13 17:01:25

Thanks Charles. Do you think? I as worried three days early wasn't very good timing?

I feel better after my rant anyways smile
FX Im still in with a chance then. You're right, last month I had a 34 day cycle, if I did ovulation cd13, then this cycle should be much much shorter.

FX.

Nulaloo - I have different types of cramps. Yesterday I had what I can only describe as waves of cramps across my belly. I was doubled up in pain. Odd as when I ovulate the pain is usually much much milder. Normally a dull ache. With infrequent stabbing pains. For me AF cramps are across my back and are like a really uncomfortable hug!

Sorry clever. FX you're just testing too early.

charleslingus Sun 29-Sep-13 17:24:04

jaykay I read recently that 3 days before ov, till ov are the most important of all days, it gives sperm time to get to where they need to go and they can live there firmly in the right place till the egg pops out.

my app gives days either side of that too but guessing it's in case ov isn't exactly when it should be, so you are in the optimum zone at least.

Rants are great anyway, glad you're feeling better!

RaRaZ Sun 29-Sep-13 17:36:54

I've read that too Jaykay so try to stay positive. According to my fertility accupuncturist, some sperm live for 10 days and she's seen people who've got pg from intercourse only a week before ov. Fingers crossed!

RaRaZ Sun 29-Sep-13 17:43:45

Would anyone mind giving me their opinion on my chart? I didn't think I'd ovulated, but FF thinks I did and I've just realised I had a few weird temps earlier in the month due to night shifts etc, which I've now discounted.

According to Ovufriend (signed up there for a second opinion lol), one of these should work...

http://ovufriend.com/graph/ff00539b5c2d529d759f314731964a63

http://ovufriend.com/graph/ff00539b5c2d529d759f314731964a63

And this is the FF one:

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/46c83b

So what do you think? Did I ovulate? Thanks in advance.

jaykay987 Sun 29-Sep-13 17:51:07

I can have a look if you can make them links! (Sorry - only on my phone)

ovufriend.com/graph/ff00539b5c2d529d759f314731964a63 should be the Ovufriend one, though obv they look pretty similar

I'm no help raraz, I don't understand charting!

Still a fainter line on my ov test, and doing my head in now! I'm on cd14, last month it was positive on cd16 but only had a 9 day LP after that so was hoping I'd ov earlier this month if the same cycle length. I only had a darker line for 12 hours before it turned positive last month, so this is dragging a bit!

VJONES1985 Sun 29-Sep-13 18:13:10

Hi choccy - are you on b6 or anything else for your lp? You were on the pill, right?

RaRaZ Sun 29-Sep-13 18:13:28

Right now, neither do I! If I didn't work shifts and actually got up at vaguely the same time through the week, it might be a damn sight easier! This is so difficult, isn't it confused. With yours, maybe you'll just have a longer cycle: ovulate later, but have a longer LP too? Is a 9-day LP normal for you?

Supposedly they don't vary more than one day for the same woman, but mine are usually 14-15 days and the last one was only 11, so clearly that's not entirely true hmm

I'm only on cycle 2 so I'm not sure what's the norm for me raraz. Last time I had a 35 day, then 28 day cycle, then fell pg with ds and found out finally on cd40, so it was all over the place.

Yes, was on the pill vjones, this time and last time. Yasmin last time, microgynon this time

No b6 either, just straight folic acid

jaykay987 Sun 29-Sep-13 18:27:27

Raraz - looking at those I think it is right and you ovulated on cd17. The dip after could be implantation, or it could just be your pattern (I get this pattern but have not yet been pregnant). Have you only discarded the temps taken at a if different time? Or the ones that "look" weird?

If its the former, thenI think it loos good! FX October is your month!

also, I just read that dtd on four or three days before ov gives you higher chances of conceiving than dtd on ov day. So fingers crossed, Ive still got a (small) chance. Though obviously it is low given we only dtd once around ovulation.

My friend, Ive decided, is a way of proving to me that it only takes one time! grin So I must take the positive from her story! grin

Looks like ff is right to me. In fact I've always found them to be annoyingly right even when I wish otherwise.

Ok need help ladies not meant to opk this month (hubby and I agreed). Anyway peed on one earlier and positive so really need to DTD but hubby not in mood. 'Wants to read'. Any advice or experience on how to change his mind without mentioning secret opk-ing?

Thanks Jaykay and ScienceGeek smile - much appreciated. Jaykay: bit of both. They looked way out, but were also taken at funny times. On the 18th and 19th (CD 12 and 13), my temps were taken late and after not much sleep (1815 and 1415) due to night shifts, and the one the other night (presumably the dip you referred to?) was taken after a night when I had only five hours in bed and took ages to get to sleep due to a headache and then kept waking up. Do they sound like reasonable reasons? Unless I've forgotten to chart any, we only had sex the day of ovulation (assuming the chart is right on that) and the day before, and then it was three days before that. Eeek.

Kemie Sun 29-Sep-13 18:55:13

Just updating stats now AF is in full flow, the witch was 2 days early!!! WTF?!
Gonna leave these boards for a bit now as ttc seems to be taking over my life! 8 months and counting is doing my head in now!
Hopefully someone will keep the stats updated
Good luck all

RaRaZ Sun 29-Sep-13 18:55:46

Sciencegeek: How easily turned on is your husband? I tend to find my bf will easily 'come round' if touched, cuddled, kissed, straddled, told he's handsome, if I'm obviously very up for it, if I sit on his knee in my underwear etc.... Can you try that?

RaRaZ Sun 29-Sep-13 18:56:22

Sorry to hear that Kemie sad. My AF was 4/5 days early last month. Not fair, is it.

Science, burn his frikkin book wink. No seriously, can you go get dressed up in some sexy lingerie, and put him in the mood?

Nottalotta Sun 29-Sep-13 20:21:06

Hello all, i'm afraid i haven't caught up on the last 8 or so pages.....

Well, round 4 for me. Am 36 now so really hopibg to crack on this month.

Said to totally clueless DH earlier 'anyway, we need to have a chat' he replied 'are you preggers' errrr, no.....(he earlier made reference to it being ladies week....)

So... 'errr no, just had a period' him 'well i don't know how it works!!'

Dear god. Is there any hope? So the conversation went on....

'I think my knob isn't working'
Me....'what?!?'

DH 'well i've been banging it in hard enough!' (so sorry tmi...)

Me 'well not often enough!!'

So the plan to prove his knob works... is to dtd often enough!

And maybe give him a biology lesson...

ExactlyWhat Sun 29-Sep-13 20:25:09

Hello everyone,

AF finally finished, so can get on and start dtd now - hooray! Cycle 2 for me; kind of (optimistically) thought I would conceive last month, was at a wedding yesterday and was thinking previously that (if i was pg) I wouldn't have been able to drink. Well, certainly made up for the fact that I would be ok drinking! Bit fragile today!

I haven't used the opk things - I'm going to try again to not use them this month as think otherwise I would be totally consumed by the whole ttc thing - even more than I already am!

Not due til 27th Oct so will be here a while... Hope everyone has a successful month

Nottalotta lmao! Hope his errr knob works soon wink ha ha!

Anyone else using one step ov tests (Internet cheapies)? I've now totally run out of my others, but out of interest did one of each at the same time. No second line on the one step, but on my other one I had a very clear dark, but not quite positive second line.

Nottalotta Sun 29-Sep-13 20:28:42

choccy honestly. I despair.

Not used opk's yet. On C4 and will give it anpther couple of months. Think i may ov earlier than my app suggests. I have a short 25 day cycle so thinking to dtd every other days from CD 5 - 15. That should cover it?

jessieagain Sun 29-Sep-13 20:38:39

grin notta lol your dh sounds like my dp. He managed to reach his 30s still believing that every time you had unprotected sex you would get pregnant! confused

Just a quick update, perhaps over sharing but turns out a sexy outfit does work to make DH put down his book lol yay!

CleverOl10 Sun 29-Sep-13 20:47:44

Ha ha Science - made me smile! I think that works for all men, good book or not!! Well done!

jessieagain Sun 29-Sep-13 20:48:35

We start tomorrow, af pretty much finished today on cycle day 7. Looking forward to it, the plan is to dtd every 2nd day and to start using the opks tomorrow at 7pm.

Last month we were fairly successful with the every 2nd day plan, just started to skip days during the 2ww. Also I'm not breastfeeding at all anymore so hopefully this makes a difference as well. smile

Science, you go girl!

jessieagain Sun 29-Sep-13 21:01:08

grin well done science

Not sure I've been congratulated on seducing my hubby before but kinda like it. This ttc business is turning my into a crazy lady isn't it?

P.S hubby has gone back to his book so effects only temporary.

wispaxmas Sun 29-Sep-13 21:15:54

Hah, science, you're awesome. Hopefully it's this exact time that gets you a bfp!

CleverOl10 Sun 29-Sep-13 21:27:50

What IS this book?! ;)

Dunno it's on his kindle. But if I had to guess it'll be a Dresden files book as he seems to be addicted to them.

Liquidambar Sun 29-Sep-13 21:40:48

science you made me laugh! Don't worry about turning into a "crazy lady". It's all for a good cause wink

mama31 Sun 29-Sep-13 22:30:05

Can I reserve a seat at the back (sobs)....af is making a gradual approach, expecting full flow tomorrow so just in the process of stepping off sept bus sad but so happy for the ladies on sept who got their bfps!!!

Erm.... So I was v.v.bad and tested two days early but there it was, a very faint BFP! I almost don't believe it yet so DEFO testing tomoz and Tuesday too but holy hell!

Also the fear of m/c or CP is always always there so feeling super cautious but OMG guys, pretty excited too.... sorry if I'm kinda on the wrong bus now! But my official day is still 1st October! x

I'm symptom spotting..... 3 dpo and I've come out in a crop of sore large spots on my chin and a couple on my cheeks..... Anyone else experienced this?! I've not had a break out like this in a long time!

Really hope this is the luckiest of lucky buses! And that I'm the first of many (assuming it's sticky!)

I did get spots in weird places, probably DPO 8-10 if that helps.... is anyone bothered to hear my symptoms? I can jot some down if so
