PSEPP = Pee Stick Endorsed Pregnant Person.

Come on Brookers make yourselves at home smile

Love it Cups grin

<lays out enticing buffet>

How nice that you are starting the thread you will get your BFP on smile

Exactly Rubber!!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 24-Jul-13 17:21:24

Thanks Maybe and Rubber. I did have a little thought when I was writing the title that maybe that's why I've not got my BFP yet grin I'm not crazy honest

I've never thought that Cup, no not me not ever

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 24-Jul-13 17:36:13

Well I've not heard from the clinic. They said they would only call if I needed to change my dose of gonal. So I'm guessing my estrogen is good. What's everyone having for tea? I need some inspiration. DH is away for 2 nights with work so it's dinner for one. It will be chicken or turkey something as I need the protein.

That's great news Cups!! Roll on Fridays scan!! How are you feeling?

Dinner. Hmm. I'm hungry but have no idea what I want. I fear it may be something terribly boring like a tuna mayo jacket sad

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 24-Jul-13 17:51:36

I feel a bit fat Maybe but it must just be bloating as I've not put on any weight. A jacket potato sounds amazing to me actually, you can't beat a good jacket.

I'm thinking of having a stir fry cos its super easy and I've not eaten much veg today. I'm hardly ever hungry though as I feel like I'm always drinking.

Marking my place....

Don't wanna be missing all the bona fide BFP action that'll be going on here smile

<gives Biscuits a squeeze>

I felt really bloated too Cups, it's rubbish!!

SweetieTime Wed 24-Jul-13 18:13:53

Marking my place to keep my eye on all your upcoming BFPs

Marking my place too in Cups' BFP thread!

Maybe this will be the Fred I become a brooking student again in. Would that be the right term?!

Was homemade pizza for dinner here!

<adds flapjacks to the fred goodies>

GreenOlives Wed 24-Jul-13 20:21:44

Marking my place! Fish and chips from the chippy for me tonight <naughty emoticon>

Munxx Wed 24-Jul-13 20:46:47

Sorry that was meant to be marking my place! That's what you get trying to post and feed at the same time!

Cups this is your thread. I know it!

Big squidges for Beedle, Scarlett and Geek

ThedementedPenguin Wed 24-Jul-13 22:03:02

Oh what a lovely new thread

<settles in>

How's everyone keeping?

Tonight for tea my mum treated me to Frankie & bennys. I had a BBQ burger. Was so yummy. Don't usually get treated to tea but we had a lovely day out.

nearlyanurse Wed 24-Jul-13 22:54:00

Right peeps, am doing an opk daily (currently cd 12), and mr nurse is heading north for the weekend, so if I ov early next week, this might be the month...brook like you've never brooked before! cups am counting on your new thread for a bffp.

ControlGeek Wed 24-Jul-13 23:01:10

<squeeeeeeezes munx and everyone else>

I just luuuurve what you've done with the place cups, it's fabulous! And just in time for your BFP, too smile I can't believe you've been a brooker for so long and yet this is your first homemade fred. Well done (and congratulations in advance)

<marks place>

keepitgoing Thu 25-Jul-13 06:19:44

Morning all, hideous jetlag here...

Ooh nursed we are all brooking that egg to pop on, let's say, Monday smile

Nurse keeping everything crossed for the golden egg!

Sounds like a nice dinner Penguin!

Musical any sign of AF?

And boo to jet lag Keep

ScrambledSmegs Thu 25-Jul-13 10:32:54

<marks place on thread>

I've just got my first proper AF after giving birth - excluding the horror that was the 'retained products' <boak> So that means that one of you will not be getting theirs this month, right Cups wink

I made a lamb tagine with flatbreads last night. Was yum. Have loads left over, DD1 informed me that she doesn't like 'sheen' grin

That's great news Smegs

I like your thinking Smegs <eyes Cups>

I love tagine!!

Solars Thu 25-Jul-13 12:36:16

I love a tagine too, chicken and preserved lemon is my fav Smegs Your DD1 sounds very cute!

Cups I started my first ever thread and got a BFP so this is definitely your time <bangs gavel> Looking forward to hear your scan news tomorrow and wow if you get to egg collection on Saturday!! Grow follies, grow!

Yes Musical has AF arrived? Exciting times to be starting ttc for number 2!

Maybe when do you start your new job?

Brooking for that egg to pop on Monday nurse

Big waves to all x

I start on Monday Solars shock

ScarlettInSpace Thu 25-Jul-13 13:12:47

crown

<bows down to queen Scarlett>

ScarlettInSpace Thu 25-Jul-13 14:22:57

Hehe thank you loyal subject.

When cups gets her BFP next month I'll officially be the only brooker left from when I joined about 2years ago that hasn't got diffed yet, there's a frigging depressing thought sad

I'm ok btw for the people that asked on the last thread, quite disengaged from TTC and trying to accept that it's just not meant to be, which is shit but heyho.

I still have a couple of IUIs left so may as well use them up but not until I've lost another stone & a half or so [10 lbs so far!]. Might have a look down the back of the visa card sofa for pennies to try a mild IVF after the IUIs are gone but feels like a total bit of a waste of money really.

Big love and much squeezing grin

crown

ScrambledSmegs Thu 25-Jul-13 14:34:36

Solars that's my fave too, with olives or artichoke bottoms (Claudia Roden recipe by any chance?) but I fancied a change so did lamb with dried apricots and pomegranate seeds on top. I will be doing it again, it was soooooo good.

DD1 didn't even try it! Ok it was a bit spicy, but whatever happened to my child who used to eat everything?! This must be the start of the fusspot years <sigh>

Just musing - isn't it weird that a load of people that we have never met are privy to some of the most personal information about ourselves that we haven't even shared with our closest friends/relatives? And yet it doesn't feel strange that you all know confused

Hope you're feeling positive about the new job,*Maybe*. Exciting!

nearlyanurse Thu 25-Jul-13 16:58:16

smegs isn't it a total relief to be able to talk about it all without being called a headcase judged. Don't get me started ranting on outwardly supportive friends/family who are actually everything but helpful.

Wonder what culinary delight I'll end up with for tea (you're all show offs with your fancy meals on a school night!!). Cooking for one is dull dull dull, especially when emptying ones fridge freezer - last night was a nut cutlet, grilled courgette and steamed broccoli, night before was battered cod with fried courgette and garlic mushrooms. tempted by mild curry super noodles and fried eggs & sausages tonight

A nut cutlet?! I'm intrigued Nurse grin. You should come here for tea wink. I can't be arsed to cook tonight <lazy bitch>

Smegs I know!! Though I feel like I've had the world and his dog up my fanjo of late blush

nearlyanurse Thu 25-Jul-13 18:04:40

maybs I just spat out a piece of broccoli ( have gone for tortellini, broccoli and peas with a dash of balsamic drizzle fo' shizzle my nizzle). Anyways, shall I pop round with a pizza? I could probably be with you in about 7 hours, so it might be a bit cold, but hey ho...

nearlyanurse Thu 25-Jul-13 18:06:35

Now waiting for someone to tell maybs she's not allowed pizza whilst preggers, in which case I officially quit...

Pizza is allowed Nurse! Get on your way! and who doesn't love cold pizza

I don't like pizza cold or hot

musicalmrs Thu 25-Jul-13 19:50:13

Scarlett, I hope you're ok <un-MNy hugs>

Smegs, am rather jealous of your return of AF! How old is DD1? I'm not looking forward to the fussy years..!

Maybe and Solars, no, still no AF! Will be cutting down the remaining daytime feed when the hot weather passes, and will see if that kicks it off. Can't start just yet due to a big project kicking off in a couple of months- if by some magical chance it all happened very quickly this time, I need to make sure the due date would be after the project completion....!

I hope she comes back soon musical!! This project sounds intriguing!!

Cups lovely. Lots of luck for tomorrow, can't wait to hear how you get on x

just checking in ready for bfpsgrin

SweetieTime Fri 26-Jul-13 07:41:43

cup good luck for the scan today. Hopefully all your golden eggs will be all growing lovely and strong. Cannot wait to hear how it is all going

Imps8 Fri 26-Jul-13 08:02:03

Morning! Just popping in to see how gorgeous all you lovely upduffed people are looking this fine morning.

The O2 show is coming along very nicely you'll be excited to hear. Have all my costume changes sorted now.

Morning Imps! Do you have your own entourage?!

nearlyanurse Fri 26-Jul-13 09:23:14

Good luck cups xx

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Fri 26-Jul-13 10:23:59

Morning,

Sorry work has been keeping me away from mn again! I've had the scan I've got 11 follies on one side and 5 on the other and I've also got 6 smaller ones. So I guess that's good. I've got another scan on Sunday at 11:00.

Scarlett big hugs. I guess it can't hurt to give the IUI's a try. I think the mild IVF sounds interesting. I've heard of some good results from that x

musicalmrs Fri 26-Jul-13 10:45:27

That sounds fab Cups! How does it work - is it like with Maybe, where they'll try to freeze some but only implant one?

Imps have you sorted out your rider yet? Do you have any fussy requirements like M&Ms with all the brown ones picked out? grin

Maybe how're you doing? All will be revealed project wise in a couple of months (on FB!). It's very exciting and should be career changing.. but does mean I need to ensure I don't jeopardise the end of it! grin

Cups that's amazing news! Well done smile. Any news of when you can trigger?

Musical I am very excited to hear what this is all about!!

TheLittleFriend Fri 26-Jul-13 12:04:55

Great news cups smile

And now on intrigued to hear musicals work news!

Cups, that is great news!

Also excited to hear musical's news.

Scarlet, sounds like you have a plan and well done on the weight loss! Still brooking for you over here.

Scarlett I don't think I congratulated you on the weight loss, bloody good going x

ScarlettInSpace Fri 26-Jul-13 16:54:05

Thanks guys - fwiw my fairly negative mindset about TTC is one of the reasons I don't come here too often, I don't want to drag you lot or myself down, so I stay away!

cups sounds like a good scan, best of luck for Sunday x

BlindKitty Fri 26-Jul-13 19:39:53

scarlett think I'm starting iui next month! Was hoping we'd be iui buddies sad. Anyway, bound not to get diffed on 1st go so by the time you decide to start we can do round 2 together smile

cups go follies!!!! Not long now!

maybe you eat all the pizza you want! I can't wait for guilt free pizza <drools>

Well guys not much new, just massively excited about my iui appointment on thurs!

I've not had pizza for ages Kitty. MrM suggested it tonight, but the thought didn't sit well.....

Not long till your first appointment!!! Exciting times!

BlindKitty Fri 26-Jul-13 20:11:20

Oh no, we're you sick? I can't bloody wait! No idea why as I don't even think it'll work lol

No, I wasn't sick, just felt a bit bleurgh!

You don't know it won't work!!! You have every chance!

BlindKitty Fri 26-Jul-13 20:28:38

After 25 months of ttc I have little optimism!!!

ThedementedPenguin Fri 26-Jul-13 20:37:42

musical your work project sounds interesting.

I'm just back in from the gym. Done an hours yoga and then an hours work out. Legs are pretty sore but hoping i get used to it soon.

cups that's great news about the scan. What happens at next scan? They just recheck?

kitty brooking that your appointment goes well. smile

Not much to report here, my cheapy tests came today. Am tempted to do one because no AF but I'm afraid of wasting them. So undecided. I only bought 5 to try them out before I bought more.

You could ways try one out in the morning Penguin wink

Kitty I know what you mean. We will have been TTC 3 years come Christmas. It takes it out of you, it really does. But things will come good in the end x

Ooh, penguin, test! First BFP of the thread!

BlindKitty Fri 26-Jul-13 22:37:11

Thanks penguin smile.. Now go and poas!!!

maybe I know but I'm convinced it will take ivf to get there!

If it does take that lovely Kitty, we will all be there for hand holding wink

BlindKitty Fri 26-Jul-13 22:43:43

smile you're so lovely maybe, bet you'll be a great mum x

Stop it Kitty you're making me blush!! And I'm sure you will too x

ThedementedPenguin Fri 26-Jul-13 23:07:25

I doubt it will be a BFP. Have had no symptoms.

Will use a test in the morning just to rule it out. But I no it's going to be a bfn.

kitty I agree with maybe we will be here for you know matter what happens smile

<waiting for Penguin to poas> smile

Morning, anyone leaving breakfast or would you like some of my toast and eggs, and brew of course!

penguin here no symptoms is a symptom!

BlindKitty Sat 27-Jul-13 08:19:58

<taps foot impatiently!> come on penguin!!!!

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 09:18:42

Sorry people. This is my second attempt at posting.

So I've tested.

Firstly, does peeing in the middle of the night ruin the first pee?

I'm gonna up load a picture here. I'll let you know when it's on my profile. If you could all take a look and give me your honest verdict.

Where are you Penguin??!!

Boo I'll have some brekkie ta!

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 09:21:34

Okay picture is up. I'll be back in 10 mins.

Well I can quite clearly see a second line...... grin grin

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 09:42:13

When do I test again? Would I be better to use a night wee?

I would test tomorrow morning and try not to wee in the night. How exciting grin

damn on phone so don't think I can check the pic. penguin I've always been an evening tester, just saying. grin

Looks like 2 lines to me, those tests never get really dark. If you need to wee in the night then save some in a pot. Do your first wee of the morning in another and then you can test both grin

Oh and the only symptom I had for my second pregnancy was an absent AF...

Bullets is right, cheaply tests are never very dark. You could always get a first response.....

BlindKitty Sat 27-Jul-13 10:15:48

Looks like a line to me! I'd get a digi! grin

figured it out! I think I can see it too!
no chance of nipping out to superdrug?!

Smegs has got AF back and we all know that when a brooker gets it back another gets a BFP

Only problem with a digi is they aren't that sensitive, so don't be too disheartned. How many days late are you Penguin?

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 10:20:22

I'll go to the shop when I get home for my purse. Should I do it as soon as I get home or wait until morning.

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 10:24:13

I'm 6 days late maybe ill maybe buy a double pack and try today and in morning.

Need to do it soon as I'm meant to be going out tonight. I can drive as an excuse not to drink, but my mum is offering me a lift so I can have a drink. So need to know whether to make a excuse up or not.

BlindKitty Sat 27-Jul-13 10:25:32

Well technically you should wait for fmu but I wouldn't haha!

BlindKitty Sat 27-Jul-13 10:26:23

Oh defo don't drink! Trust me, I've been poas for years and never seen a line!!!!

6 days late. ok sorry guys I'm going to completly disagree with you and say go buy the test an do it. ive never worried bout time of day, when I last wee'd or how much I've drunk and had early positives (never had a prob with digis either) but maybe that's just me. x

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 10:41:29

cartoon I'm going to buy a double pack. That way i can use one today and tomorrow if need be. Okay I'll try and get to shop asap. Will update when I test.

If you're six days late then it probably won't make a difference! I'd get a twin pack and d as you've said, one now and one in the morning!!

Can't wait Penguin grin

Oooo I'm very excited! grin

Ooh that's a line smile if you look on the FB page (couple of months ago) we all put our sticks on to show and tell, you can compare, but it looks mighty like mine did (now a beautiful 12 week DD) grin

Tis vair exciting grin

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 13:36:03

Okay so I've POAS. Awaiting result.

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 13:38:27

I'm pregnant... I can't believe it.

I got a clear blue, says pregnant 1-2 so I'm 3-4 weeks pregnant.

I'm in shock. I really didn't expect it to happen so soon. I feel awful being here now. Although I know I shouldn't but I can't help it.

Ooh congratulations Penguin smilesmile do you know we have a graduates thread too, where we will hold your hair back, and moan with you support you in pregnancy grin

Oh Penguin amazing news!!! Well done you! I'm a couple of weeks ahead, come and join the grads thread as Boo has said grin

BlindKitty Sat 27-Jul-13 14:05:06

Oh that's great news penguin! Have you told your dh? All the caravan shagging has paid off!!! grin

ThedementedPenguin Sat 27-Jul-13 14:11:15

kitty yes I rung him and he came home. When I told him he went "okay..... Cool"

Suppose it was better than the last time when I went "it's okay" all day then spent the week drinking while I was working late freaking out.

Will have a look at other thread.

TheLittleFriend Sat 27-Jul-13 14:54:04

Congratulations penguin grin

yay penguin congrats. grin

keepitgoing Sat 27-Jul-13 17:02:05

Congratulations penguin!!smile smile

And well done cups on all those follies. I hope tomorrow shows that you can trigger soon. I'm so excited for you.

scarlett hey there - great to see you! Amazing weight loss, well done you! Don't worry about coming here if you feel down, that's what we're here for so come here if you want/need to. Even when you're not here then we are still all brooking for you.

Congratulations penguin!

BlindKitty Sat 27-Jul-13 19:59:32

penguin oh really? I hope I get a better reaction from mr b whenever it happens! Men eh? I guess he prob never thought it would be an issue getting pg so doesn't realise how much of a mission this could have been, which I guess it wasn't!

nearlyanurse Sat 27-Jul-13 21:33:44

Yay for penguin!!! Mr nurse has been here since early hours of this morning, and ive been holding out on him, but am about to sack off the monitoring of opk and just jump his bones - wanna be in the penguin and maybs club this month!! I got a faint test line on a test an hour ago, but figure he's only here for a couple days so we may as well throw caution to the wind and go for it.

oh my god, I'm such a crap brooker I've missed both maybes and solars bfps? and did I spot imps and biscuits upthread? lordy, I'm do blummin chuffed to hear that <wipes tear from eye>

BlindKitty Sat 27-Jul-13 22:37:15

nurse just go for it! It's the days previous to ov that's important anyway

and congrats penguin!

<bundles on to Ninja>

We are all here Njnja! Brookers old and new have rejoined the party grin

Go Nurse. Shag with abandon I say wink

grin how are you finding it then maybe? How far along are you? What utterly fab news, couldn't happen to a more deserving person.
<makes mental note to actually come onto mn more often>

Thanks Ninja all very strange. And incredibly lucky! I'm 5+4 today!! And how are you and your lovely little family?!

GreenOlives Sun 28-Jul-13 08:15:16

Congratulations penguin! grin This thread is lucky already! Is it cups next?

ThedementedPenguin Sun 28-Jul-13 09:34:15

Thanks everyone. You've all been great. smile

So I've been thinking, I know you can exercise through pregnancy and it says to keep it up but I only joined the gym last Monday and I'm afraid it's going to be too much. I was thinking as I'm still within my first 14 days I should maybe cancel. What does everyone think?

You should exercise, but you shouldn't be trying anything new. I am quite fit anyway so I can keep exercising (though I am joning the gym as I'm just too hot outside). I was also told to do low impact stuff, yoga,Pilates, swimming and walking.

ThedementedPenguin Sun 28-Jul-13 09:40:56

Yea I thought that. I did two classes of body combat last week and loved it. So I might be a bit depressed I can't do it anymore.

I'm not sure what to do as I joined with my sister. I don't want to tell anyone yet so if I cancel ill have to come up with a good excuse.

Like Maybe said, you can do low impact stuff, you can swim as much as you like. If you feel like you want to give it up can you use time/cost excuse?

BlindKitty Sun 28-Jul-13 10:40:48

Our friend, Alex, is on Sunday brunch! Cant say his surname in case someone googles and finds this thread!

penguin I quit the gym at 6wks when the sickness kicked in blush

olives I think it has to be cups next, it's only fair and surely karma agrees? smile

ThedementedPenguin Sun 28-Jul-13 12:07:00

I'm tied into 12 months. I'm still within 14 days so can easily cancel. Otherwise ill need a doctor note saying I can't go.

Otherwise they can pause membership for a few months. However, I don't want that extra pressure after a baby. So I might cancel it now and just go to local leisure centre for pool. (It's only across the road) I'm going to discuss with doctor tomorrow.

I'm gonna hang out here as well if you don't mind. Want to read all the BFPs that will be happening this month smile

Munxx Sun 28-Jul-13 12:34:25

You dropped off my threads!

<hyperventilates>

Congratulations Penguin wow! The power of the brookers is very strong!

Hello to everyone.

Cups how are you doing lovely?

I can't remember who asked me a while back whether we were considering another but I forgot to answer. No, we are not going to. My history of miscarriage and the fact that my last pregnancy was very complicated and scary means it would not be a good idea. Plus we are very very aware how lucky we are to have the children we have got. I have finally packed up the Moses basket, bouncy chairs and so on and out them in the attic.

Munxx Sun 28-Jul-13 12:34:53

(But I would still like to hang around and cheer you all on if I may!)

My lovely Munx you are going nowhere!! <puts foot down with firm hand>

That's wise Penguin

Kitty which Alex?! I bloody love Sunday brunch!!

BlindKitty Sun 28-Jul-13 14:12:17

maybe the name of this forum! 'Brooker

olives I think it will be cups and then me obviously grin

penguin I think you're doing the right thing with the gym.

Well I've finally ov'd this month at day 24. Thought I'd settled into 33 day cycles but clearly not! Been to yoga today trying to visualise the little swimmers meeting the egg and all that crap

Kitty how do you know him? He literally makes me laugh so much a bit of wee comes out!!

You could just be having an off cycle. Our bodies like to so that!!

BlindKitty Sun 28-Jul-13 15:28:50

maybe we met him on holiday. He didn't say anything about what he does for about a week! Even then he only mentioned it to my Dh when he asked! We were supposed to go up and see him and our other friends last week but we cancelled as were trying not to drink totally sucks

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 28-Jul-13 16:45:09

Congratulations Penguin smilesmilesmile
What a lovely start to my BFP filled thread grin

I've been having a bit of a meltdown as I started spotting last night. It has settled now. I've been for a scan this morning. The clinic have no idea why I have been spotting but my lining has reduced. It's still thick enough to go ahead. I have 6 large follicles between 16mm and 19mm. So I trigger tonight at 9:30 and EC is Tuesday morning. I've rung work and said I will be off all week. I still feel worried about the bleeding and I'm now worrying that I won't get any eggs. This whole process is making me crazy!

Hope everyone else is well x

And breathe lovely Cups. It will all be absolutely fine, I promise. You will have some lovely juicy eggs and your lining is still great. Just try to take it easy. We are all here for hand holding x

Kitty that's amazing. I am actually awe struck grin

BlindKitty Sun 28-Jul-13 18:23:18

cups try not to worry! It's all going to go swimmingly!

Cups how brilliant that you trigger tonight! Brooking the spotting is utterly harmless. <starts the mature follies, mature dance>

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 28-Jul-13 18:42:34

Thanks guys smile

Kitty look at you hob nobbing with celebrities grin

BlindKitty Sun 28-Jul-13 18:50:49

Ha I know, he came to see us a while back and people were going up to him in bars to tell him they liked the show, etc. was crazy!

ThedementedPenguin Sun 28-Jul-13 19:26:11

cups brooking that everything is okay. I agree with kitty try not to worry although it is easier said.

musicalmrs Sun 28-Jul-13 20:00:43

Penguin congratulations! grin how do yoy feel?

Cups, so exciting! Lots of brooking going on for you and the follies too.

Ninja so lovely to see you here!

Thanks for sharing the excimenet about my not yet announced work news grin I'm looking forward to being allowed to share it when the project starts. Until then I have mahoosive amounts of prep work to do...

Still no AF. Have had a thought though I'm on Noriday (progesterone only pill) - wondering if that too could be scuppering AF's chances? Not sure. Going to pop to our potential new doctors and get some transfer forms this week. When I'm all signed up I need to make an appointment anyway, so can enquire then...

TheLittleFriend Sun 28-Jul-13 20:31:23

Cups, good luck my love, lots of brooking from me to you

ThedementedPenguin Sun 28-Jul-13 20:32:00

musical I've no symptoms yet. It's strange knowing. I'm all excited but don't want to tell anyone yet. It's so hard not to tell anyone. So I'm glad I can talk here otherwise I might go mad.

I was on cerazette which is progesterone only and I only had one period in 8 months. So that may be keeping it away. Hopefully the doctors will be able to tell you better.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 28-Jul-13 21:40:09

Trigger done! I'm starting to feel a bit excited. I'm looking forward to no injections tomorrow.

Musical I'm looking forward to having you back with us once you sort AF out.

Hello Little, Munx, Gen and Ninja. How are you doing Ninja? Not seen you in a while, how are your lovely DC? X

Im excited for you Cups grin. What time is EC on Tuesday?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 28-Jul-13 21:58:01

I'm not sure, we have to be there for 07:30. The nurse who I spoke to earlier said she didn't know what number I am on the list. I'm not too bothered, I'm going to take my kindle in case I'm waiting a long time.

Munxx Sun 28-Jul-13 22:02:18

Excited for you too Cups enjoy an injection free day tomorrow! Brooking hard for you lovely lady x

That's great Cups. They won't leave you waiting too long I don't think. You'll be great x

musicalmrs Sun 28-Jul-13 22:59:00

Penguin, the brookers completely kept me sane during my PG! Especially when I had problems (a few episodes of very bad bleeding). After one inconclusive scan and being told I had to wait two weeks before the next one, the brookers held my hand and helped me through. So feel free to ramble away to us about PG-ness - especially on the antenatal thread - and especially when you can't talk about it in the real world!

One period in 8 months?! Wow! I've been getting a lot of CM (TMI I know!) so I do wonder if something could be going on in there. Hurrah! Will try and get doctor's forms tomorrow, so I can get a step closer to asking.

Cups I can't wait to rejoin you either. I'm sososo excited about it (and nervous, and worried, but trying to push those aside) and I've got DH on board (finally!). I'm sure they won't keep you waiting too long on Tuesday - we'll all be here brooking for you.

Musical if it's any help, my SIL was on that pill and has the same troubles. But she started feeling period like for a few months without actual AF, then she just came back (but that also coincided with stopping BF). Hope your new GP is much more helpful than the last!

I'm so excited about you joining us again!!!

And yes Penguin, talk to us all you like! It's what we do best wink

ThedementedPenguin Sun 28-Jul-13 23:17:21

cups that's great news. Is that you finished with all injections?

I missed Cups trigger blush ooh, lovely that's so exciting smilesmile all those lovely shiny golden eggs just ready to pop!!! Brooking starts early in the boo house grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Mon 29-Jul-13 12:23:09

Thanks Keep and Boo. I've had terrible wind since the trigger shot shock and feel like AF is going to arrive any moment so hopefully that means something is happening.

Keep I miss your early morning posts! How is it being back in the uk? You and MrK settled? Have you found a place to live yet?

nearlyanurse Mon 29-Jul-13 21:20:19

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 30-Jul-13 06:30:19

Thanks for all the brooking. We are setting off now. I've been awake since 04:30 which isn't too bad for me. I'm normally a bad sleeper when anything important is happening the next day. I'll check back in after EC x

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 30-Jul-13 07:46:12

cups you're probably at the hospital now but I hope it all goes well today and you get lots of lovely golden eggs

penguin congratulations

scarlett sorry you're feeling so down, but well done on the weight loss. I've been here for nearly 2 years so I must have joined a little while after you. It is depressing.

geek hope you're Ok out there, hair looks great grin

well I'm back at work after 3 weeks off, it was lovely grin We've just booked a week away in Sept, adults only hotel so I won't have to listen to other peoples screaming children / feel depressed about their super-cute babies. Its nice to have something to look forward to that has nothing to do with making babies grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 30-Jul-13 11:14:26

Hello I'm on my way home. Still a bit out of it. They got 17 eggs, DH's sperm looked better than the last sample. Had a few minutes of stress as we had to wait for the consultant to decide if we could go for a fresh transfer due to the bleeding. He has decided we can go ahead as lining has increased a bit and bleeding has stopped.

Sorry for lack of personals, ill catch up after a sleep x

That's a fantastic haul!! Well done Cups! And well done MrC on his jiaj!! Are they doing straight IVF now?

Beedle boo to being back at work. But hurrah to more hollibobs!!

SweetieTime Tue 30-Jul-13 11:29:53

bloody hell cups 17 eggs is a fantastic number. hope you aren't too sore. take it easy now, feet up and a snooze - Dr Sweetie orders

well done cups have a lovely sleep. smile

Solars Tue 30-Jul-13 11:36:15

Excellent haul Cups now just relax and take it easy today, that's an order!!

Lovely to see you Beedle

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 30-Jul-13 11:59:30

Wow that's really great work from both of you, 17 eggs and good sperm. Could you be looking at a 5 day transfer if all goes well?

starts the fertilise eggs fertilise dance

(luckily I'm the only one in the office so there's no-one to see me dancing grin )

nearlyanurse Tue 30-Jul-13 14:28:48

TheLittleFriend Tue 30-Jul-13 14:30:21

Great news cups, brooking the next stage goes well too x

ThedementedPenguin Tue 30-Jul-13 15:29:04

cups that's fantastic news. Hope you have had a good sleep

Cups that's amazing, well done both of you smilesmile

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 30-Jul-13 15:39:34

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty chuffed with the number of eggs. I'm amazed my post earlier made any sense as I was still sedated I think!

Maybe we will still be doing ICSI, the embryologist says there was improvement in amount and motility but not the number of normal forms so still thinks ICSI is the best option. They will call between 9-11 tomorrow to update us.

Beedle boo to going back to work but yay to holiday. DH and I have a few weeks off in september and are going to get a late deal if this doesn't work. Ill most definitely be looking for an adult only hotel! If we have 3 or more fertilised they will look at them on day 3 and decide if we should try to get to blast. If we only get 1 or 2 fertilised we will have a day 2 transfer.

Nurse I'm hoping you and DH made a mininurse smile

I'm still a bit achy and bloated. I'm really surprised I haven't bled at all. Did you guys have any bleeding?

Thanks Sweetie, Solars, Penguin, Nurse, Maybe, Boo, Little, Trix, Musical, Ninja and Munx for the brooking (sorry if I've forgotten anyone it's cos of the drugs grin)

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 30-Jul-13 15:41:19

DinoSnores Tue 30-Jul-13 16:48:24

Just popping in to brook as well. 17 eggs! Wow! Well done, cups.

Wow cups! Fab news! Brooking for lots of healthy embies from that lot!

I'm donning my hula skirt now Cups!!

I didn't have any bleeding either! Just keep resting up. I was more sore the next day, so make sure you stay on top of the pain with paracetamol.

GreenOlives Tue 30-Jul-13 19:02:01

ThedementedPenguin Tue 30-Jul-13 20:18:29

BlindKitty Tue 30-Jul-13 21:10:31

Hi guys, just oping on to say hello and share a lovely story with you. My friend knows someone who was ttc for 10years. Eventually they found a massive polyp that was impacting on her health and the only treatment was a hysterectomy! Before the op she had a routine pregnancy test and she was preggers! She now has a lovely ds! How crazy is that! X

That's an amazing story Kitty!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 08:31:27

Kitty I love those stories but they always make me despair a bit as I don't want to be waiting 10 years for my baby. I've waited long enough already!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 09:33:28

I've had the call from the embryologist. Only 11 eggs were mature and of them 6 have fertilised. They are going to call again on Friday to decide if we have a day 3 transfer or wait for day 5. Now starts the new mentalling, last night I was worried none of them would fertilise and now I'm scared we will be lucky to have any left in a few days and we won't get to blast.

6 is great Cups smilesmile

<strikes up the band, starts a divide emby combined orchestral and national ballet piece, has re formed Pans People to keep the dance going during the interval> there you go Cups can't fail grin don't anyone dare ask who Pans People are wink

musicalmrs Wed 31-Jul-13 10:38:54

6 is excellent Cups! What makes them choose between day 3 and day 5 transfer..?

keepitgoing Wed 31-Jul-13 11:10:35

It's on how many there are, musical, if lots they wait a bit to help choose the best.

cups that's just great. 6 is brilliant, I'm sure you'll get some blasts from that. That's a good fertilization rate. Are you putting just one back or would you consider 2? Rest up and enjoy your time not responsible for those lovely little embies.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 11:13:56

Musical If when they look at them on day 3 they are all similar and dividing then I think they try to take them to day 5 so they can try to pick the best ones.

Thanks for the dancing Boo, I'm not old enough to remember pans people but I have watched TOTP2 enough to know what your talking about! I don't know what to do with myself for the next few days. DH is working as are all my close friends. I'm still feeling quite sore so not sure if going for a walk or out shopping is a good idea.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 11:15:11

Keep I wouldn't mind putting back two but I won't get that option as my clinic normally only allow one for my age group.

Yay cups! Brooking for lovely blasts from those smile

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 31-Jul-13 11:22:55

6 is great cups try not to mentall too much. Easy for me to say, as we didn't get told about how it had gone untill we got into the room for the transfer - I certainly don't recommend that though. Anyway 6 from 11 mature eggs is greater than 50% fertilisation , and even if you don't get to 5 days its not a failure. They don't take anyone to blast at my clinic and women still get pregnant.

boo I'm in awe at your musical and dance skills, will you also be preforming with pans people?

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 31-Jul-13 11:24:18

cups I think you need some time on teh sofa watching trashy daytime tv / a good dvd box set grin

keepitgoing Wed 31-Jul-13 11:42:09

I think that's sensible cups. Success rates are the same for set then fet, than det, but lower risks. I think a short walk tomorrow, but today stay home, maybe bake something yummy, film. No way would I go shopping, but then I hate shopping!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 11:46:49

Thanks Beedle and Keep, 6 embies is good I know that logically but I seem to have lost the ability to think logically during all of this.

I guess if I'm being really honest (I've not said this to DH) with myself I know the first cycle is less likely to work so I think I've been pining all my hopes on some good frosties so we can do FET.

ThedementedPenguin Wed 31-Jul-13 12:03:15

cups that's great news. Joining in with the cell division dance.

Cups that's fantastic news!! Well done you! 6 is my lucky number!! Brooking for a nice batch of frosties. I know what you mean about expecting it not to work. But I've a good feeling about you lovely x

Sorry for the post and run, am up t'north today at a meeting

<leaves hog roast for all>

SweetieTime Wed 31-Jul-13 12:21:40

Cups try not to fret. I know this is really difficult. But I only had 4 eggs fertilized and 2 embies put back day 3 and look at me now. Try not to be down if you have day 3 transfer as I can vouch that it can still work. Take it easy today, keep your feet up and enjoy your cake. I am so jealous of your cake.

BlindKitty Wed 31-Jul-13 12:31:24

cups I know, that's what I said to my mate! Anyway, you won't be waiting that long as you'll be diffed in a few weeks grin

Solars Wed 31-Jul-13 12:32:00

6 is fantastic Cups I had 6 and look at me now! One step at a time lovely, during this whole ttc process I have become one of those people that says 'we'll cross that bridge when we come to it' try not to worry as there's nothing you can do now. Just prepare yourself for that embie to settle into it's new home for the next 8.5 months!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 13:18:19

Thanks everyone for telling me what I already know. I am determined to be positive from now on. I'm happy that we have got this far and that we have got 6 fertilised embies dividing as we speak smile

Now what's happening with the rest of the Brookers? I fear I have been monopolising the thread blush

rest up cups thats all excellent news x

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 13:32:07

nearlyanurse Wed 31-Jul-13 16:50:04

cups, you're introducing me to a whole new world - very interesting! Also, I've been inspired to create a version of the lion king through the medium of expressive dance in your honour - it includes numerous one-handed cartwheels, which have caused me to strain my groin, but am getting right involved in the fertility dancing.

grin Nurse!!!! Bloody amazing.

Good luck for tomorrow Kitty. Can't wait to hear about it.

How you feeling Cups? I did indeed start my job on Monday. It's slowly killing me I feel. 12 hour days and today has been more like 15 <wimp>

Sorry not to name check everyone, I'm on my phone as I'm still not home. I wish I had some ruby slippers wink

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 31-Jul-13 22:02:15

Nurse I'm speechless in awe at your moves. My embies are guaranteed to divide after that spectacular display grin

Sweetie I'm enjoying a slice of my EC cake in bed, it's so nice. I'm already worried how I will cope once I've eaten it all!

Maybe that's great (about the job, not the long days) are you enjoying it?

Kitty no I've not calmed down and I never will! I'm a high maintenance kinda gal. I really identify with Sally out of When Harry Met Sally smile
Good luck for tomorrow, I'm brooking everything goes well and you can get started ASAP.

I've just got back from the cinema, we saw Monsters University. It was funny and kept me distracted for 2 hours anyway. I'm bloody shattered now, back to resting.

ThedementedPenguin Wed 31-Jul-13 22:22:11

Wow nurse your putting us all to shame with those moves.

maybe those days sound awful. I can't imagine doing it.

Although I am dealing with a very active 11 month old. Who loves wrecking the whole house and climbing the stairs. So I don't feel like I get a minutes peace, even during nap time sad

kitty brooking for you. Hopefully you'll be able to start things soon. I'm not really sure what your going for (and cant remember the name) but you can bring me up to spead tomorrow after your app.

cups it's good to hear you are resting, I really want to see that movie but noone to go with. I'm still doing my cell division dance for you, but after nurses performance ill have to step it up.

Brooking for all of you

Thinking of you Kitty!

nearlyanurse Thu 01-Aug-13 09:58:31

Ladies, some advice if you please - I've been using these opk sticks since cd10 (now on cd20), and haven't had a positive in all that time. Usual cycles vary from 30-32 days. So obviously I'm now freaking out slightly concerned I'm not ovulating at all, and wrongly blaming the lack of bun-in-the-ovenness on my living circumstances.

BeedlesPineNeedles Thu 01-Aug-13 10:38:13

are you using the cheapy internet ones nurse ? Some people have said they don't work for them, I never see a really dark line on them but I do see a variation over a few days that gets (just about) to the same darkness as the control line. What time of day are you using them? And do you avoid weeing for a few hours beforehand?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Thu 01-Aug-13 11:11:33

Like Beedle said I've heard people say the cheap ones don't always work. You need to test in the afternoon and you need to not go to the loo for a few hours before. Are you getting a line at all? I would get lines on them but they never went as dark as the control line.

I then started using CBFM which I think was pretty accurate for me (after 3 years ttc i just knew when i was ovulating!) but obviously I've never got a BFP.

No news from me Boo, I next here from the embryologist tomorrow. It feels ages away. I keep praying my embryos are dividing nicely smile

Solars Thu 01-Aug-13 11:25:01

Good luck Kitty with your appointment today and hope you get to start ASAP.

Nurse I always used the cheapies and they worked well for me, I used the 2nd wee of the day but perhaps try the expensive smiley face ones instead. Do you get any other ov signs?

Cups I'm still dancing here for your embies to divide x

Maybe that's a very long day indeed!

nearlyanurse Thu 01-Aug-13 14:09:29

Cheapo t'internet ones indeedy, but have been using fmu - schoolboy error. I did a couple in the afternoon (while mr nurse was here when i was hoping for a sign to go at it).

Have only had the control line cups. Nowt else.

Think I've missed it this month. Try again next month of an afternoon. If that doesn't work, I'll try some fancy pants ones.

As for ov signs solars, I've given up. Tried recording them, but it was always so variable that I gave up. I also gave up on temping. Oft. And as much as I want a bfp, I can't get amongst monitoring cm. Give me a while longer though, and I'll be monitoring everything including the lunar cycle.

Nurse, if I'm honest, the easiest thing to do is go see your GP. At you've been trying over a year (always good to exaggerate) and say you're worried about ovulation. Then they'll write you up for 2 blood tests, then you'll know. On sticks are very unpredictable.

nearlyanurse Thu 01-Aug-13 19:15:36

Hmm. I might wait until I'm settled down south and do just that maybs. How you feeling today chica? And how's the lovely cups?

BlindKitty Thu 01-Aug-13 20:11:28

Well youve obviously all been brooking your socks off today!!!! Day went great! Nurse was lovely and didn't mind me asking and silly questions! So I should basically start tues of week after next! I have 3 cycles of iui on consecutive months. If they fail I go strait to ivf with no waiting lists! Finally feel positive for the first time in ages! grin

Wow Kitty that's great news smilesmile must be the day for it.

Back to Brooking for Cups and the emby 6 smilesmilesmilesmilesmilesmile

That's fantastic news Kitty!! So pleased for you.

Nurse, not feeling too great if I'm honest, the London heat today has nearly killed me. When is the big move down south?

BlindKitty Thu 01-Aug-13 20:29:39

ThedementedPenguin Thu 01-Aug-13 20:34:29

cups looking forward to hearing your great news tomorrow.

I would start the dance up again it I'm too tired.

nearlyanurse Thu 01-Aug-13 23:46:52

Am dancing, don't worry yourselves. Take it easy.

Have gone for a new and improved version of dirty dancing, sticking with the expressive dance as a meansof telling the story. Just wait til uyou see how I portray the fact that 'nobody puts baby in a corner'.

In other news, sound of music coming soon! Climb every mountain with a doe, a dear, a female dear, a few of my favourite things, and an outfit for everyone made out of my living room curtains...

nearlyanurse Thu 01-Aug-13 23:49:41

Also, excellent news kittster, and the big move is t minus 25 maybs fuuuuuuuuuk! am off to a car boot sale on Saturday to try and sell some of my old tat to save us carting it 400 miles when we blatantly don't have room for it.

That's so exciting Nurse!! Will you be living in barracks?

BeedlesPineNeedles Fri 02-Aug-13 07:57:19

fab news kitty so if you don't have any luck with the iui you might get a cycle of IVf in before Xmas

so no line at all nurse I thought maybe you were discounting pale lines as not dark enough. It might be worth trying the more expensive ones for a month before you move and get sorted out with a doctor. Lovely dancing again grin

cups will they ring this morning with news of the magnificent 6?

AF is due here next week and then I'll phone the clinic to agree when I start DRing again, looking at the dates I might have to DR for about 4 weeks unless they can move me back a week. Which will mean DRing whilst on holiday - not so bad as long as it goes as well as last time, but how am I supposed to get my ironic-pre-ivf-relaxing-holiday-BFP? grin

that's great news kitty

brooking like billy-o for cups

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Fri 02-Aug-13 08:13:08

That's brooktastic news Kitty smile sounds like a great plan. You will have your BFP before you know it.

Beedle you do know you can still get a BFP while DR? wink

I've been awake since 5 worrying about the call, should be anytime between 9 and 11. I had a awful dream last night that one of my embryos got to blast but when I went in for ET they tried to force it down my throat shockconfused

Oh Cups what a dream! Your embies are going to be going. Great guns. I'm simply brooking no argument.

Beedle sounds like you have a plan. I'm still reckoning on a sneaky BFP from you.

BeedlesPineNeedles Fri 02-Aug-13 08:52:32

Eek cups make sure you lie the right way up on the bed grin

I know DRing won't matter if I am already pregnant but what I meant was I might have to start DRing in August for EC in October, therefore missing an entire cycle. Well, I'll see what they next week.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Fri 02-Aug-13 09:38:00

Not great news, I have 2 embryos at 9 cells, the others are not doing well. So we can't try to get to blast and we have none for the freezer. I'm in this afternoon for transfer. They are putting 2 back ( they only do that when neither are good quality) I feel pretty low, DH is really upset.

Solars Fri 02-Aug-13 09:51:38

Oh Cups is this a 3day transfer? 9cells is pretty good for day 3. Mine was a 3 day transfer with a 8 & 7 cells and average quality. Honestly you just don't know if it will work or not. I know of women who have gone to blast with perfect embryos and not got pregnant so I hope you can try and stay positive, big hugs x

BeedlesPineNeedles Fri 02-Aug-13 09:51:59

I'm sorry cups It feels crap doesn't it. We had that news 5 mins before I got on the bed for ET. but I don't think 9 cells is too bad at day 3, and it does work for some people so don't give up hope yet.
I will keep evrything crossed that putting them back inside you is all the encouragement they need to start dividing some more and sticking around for another 8 1/2 months ((hugs))

musicalmrs Fri 02-Aug-13 10:20:21

I'm sorry you're feeling rubbish Cups, but as Solars says, 9 cells at day 3 is good! Transfer this afternoon is exciting... you'll have lots of brooking and positivity from us brookers to get you through, even if you're not feeling it yourself.

Exciting news, both Kitty and Beedle. Beedle, there's still time for your ironic BFP... wink

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Fri 02-Aug-13 10:44:38

Thanks Solars, Beedle and Musical, I really need your brooking. I'm glad I at least know now Beedle so I've had time to get my head around it and hopefully I can go into ET with a positive attitude. That must have been awful only hearing just before.

I've managed to get a acupuncture session for after the transfer and I'm just about to do my zita west pre transfer CD.

I'll check in later when I'm PUPO!

BeedlesPineNeedles Fri 02-Aug-13 10:51:04

Cups lovely, I've only just seen this. How are you doing? What time are you in? I agree, 9 cells at 3 days is good!! And you have an amaingly thick lining too. All will be well. I found transfer the most nerve tacking point of the whole process. But you'll be great x

ThedementedPenguin Fri 02-Aug-13 11:39:48

cups brooking so hard for you today. You seem a bit more positive.

nurse is that t minus 25 days? How exciting

Any news yet Cups?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Fri 02-Aug-13 16:56:19

Hi I'm back with 2 embies on board. ET went fine, I was desperate for the toilet but luckily I went first so didn't have to hold it for long.
The nurse gave us an ultrasound picture of the embryos in the uterus once they had been transferred. They are two tiny white dots! I've been for my acupuncture. So here begins the dreaded wait.

Guess what my official test date is? The 19th shock no way can I wait that long! Solars how many days post transfer did you test? And Sweetie I can't remember if you had a day 3 or day 5 transfer.

That's the same as me pretty much Cup bits a bit extreme. I'd say two weeks after EC should give you a good idea. Well done you PUPO!!!! It's pretty cool isn't it?!

SweetieTime Fri 02-Aug-13 17:11:06

Cups hope you are feeling ok, sorry you were down earlier. I have only just seen your news and you are done, dusted and officially a PUPO. Congratulations for getting this far. I know what you mean about desperation for a wee, I have never needed to go like I did for ET. I had a 3 day transfer too, I tested 9dp3dt. I had my ET on the Friday afternoon like you and tested the following Sunday morning. I just couldn't wait any longer, the waiting was driving me more crazy than I thought a negative pee stick would.

nearlyanurse Fri 02-Aug-13 17:17:52

Big time brooking for cups and her tiny white dots. Grow grow grow! Have just dug out my cheer squad outfit from first year uni, and am throwing up high kicks galore!

24 days now penguin! Eek! My hubby is finally gonna realise just how difficult I am to live with...

Thanks for everyone's advice and support regrinpk. Am not being very good at tit all considering I'm VERY nearly a nurse!!

Solars Fri 02-Aug-13 17:37:37

Oh Cups yeah on being pupo! I tested 12 days past transfer which was 15 days post collection! Got absolutely everything crossed for you lovely!

Anyway Cups it just will work out fine cos I have just thought of a great name for after you get your BFP grin I've thought of 2 just in case wink

Woo hoo, cups, brooking like mad for your two dots. Sorry you were a bit disappointed, but it sounds like you've done all you can and with the power of brooking, I'm sure you'll be fine smile

ThedementedPenguin Fri 02-Aug-13 19:35:13

cups I'm glad it went well and I'm brooking loads to get those two dots to grow grow grow.

What does pupo mean again?

nurse how exciting, I bet you can't wait to move.

Pregnant until proven otherwise Penguin. Now, how's Chick treating you so far?

musicalmrs Fri 02-Aug-13 19:51:28

Congratulations on being PUPO Cups! Make sure you take life easy for the next couple of weeks.

Nurse, how exciting that you'll be moving soon! whereaboutsish are you heading? (You've probably said and I probably missed it!)

Penguin and Maybe, how are you feeling? Maybe, what kind of job are you doing now? Make sure you take it easy too!

I'm a medical writer Musical, working on COPD. I think I going to really enjoy it must wish I felt better wink. How are your top secret plans coming along?

I cannot wait to see Boo's name for you Cups grin

BlindKitty Fri 02-Aug-13 21:27:31

That sounds really interesting maybe, I've lauds of patients with copd

Yay for cups being pupo!!! I'm so excited for you! Can't wait til you can poas!

Guys, can I ask your advice? My fc has prescribed me 100mg clomid for my iui even though I overstimulated on that dose when I was on clomid earlier in the year. i adked the nurse to double check thats what she wanted and she said yes! if i produce too many eggs they'll cancel it! what do you think?

ScarlettInSpace Fri 02-Aug-13 21:51:45

Just sidling in with a big whooooooooooooooop for cups

Huge hugs and congrats on making it to PUPO status grin

Much love brookers, I'll be back sooooooooon I promise xx

ThedementedPenguin Fri 02-Aug-13 23:04:17

Thanks boo think I'm slowly picking up the lingo.

I'm good, thanks for asking boo and musical

Just been super tired today. Had a nap earlier and have been in bed for a while watching bad tv.

I'm no help kitty but hoping someone better comes along soon with some help for you.

How are you feeling now cups?

BlindKitty Sat 03-Aug-13 07:05:13

Thanks penguin! Any advice from the knowledgable brookers is appreciated!!!!

Are you a nurse too kitty <dumb question>

I'm not sure about the clomid. I'm fairly sure that the lovely keep had some clomid for an IUI and they has to cancel. Did you speak to the consultant about it? I think you need to try and get in touch of you can. Though it's not the end of the world if they so cancel, it would be so bloody frustrating for you.

<chases after Scarlett and tried to lure her back with the promise of freshly baked goods>

GreenOlives Sat 03-Aug-13 08:04:49

Morning all! cups I hope that you are still tucked up in bed this morning with DH about to bring you breakfast up. I am brooking harder than ever for your dots to settle in for the long haul and make you the third brooker with twins on board! grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sat 03-Aug-13 10:15:02

Kitty that's a tough one. Could you email/phone the consultants secretary to say you have some concerns? They might be able to either pass the question on or get the consultant to call you. I don't know what adult doctors are like but our consultants are always happy to phone parents if they have any problems.

Scarlett don't your dare go anywhere missy!

Olives I would be overjoyed to have the third set of brooking twins smile

Well I've been awake since 5am again, I keep waking up at that time and struggling to get back to sleep. DH has not been waiting on me, I've already cleaned all of downstairs and made him breakfast. I'm stopping now as I started getting hot and out of breath when I was hovering so figure I better take it easy now. Our house was such a tip though I couldn't stand it any longer.

We are off to the in laws this afternoon. DH is an usher at a wedding back home tomorrow. I'm dreading it a bit as I don't really know anyone and there will probably be the usual questions. Plus I feel ugly as I'm so spotty from all the drugs. On the plus side I've got a nice new dress that hides my swollen belly.

What is everyone up to this weekend?

BlindKitty Sat 03-Aug-13 10:38:04

maybe no, I'm a dietitian! What made you think that?

cups I bet you'll look lovely! Get yourself a bottle of schloer under the table and pretend its wine!

nearlyanurse Sat 03-Aug-13 19:42:13

penguin, am proper excited, albeit a bit apprehensive - so much change ahead. I'm moving to Buckinghamshire musical, but will be working in Surrey. And it'll be the first time mr nurse and I have been properly co-located ever.

maybe I did not know that's what you did! Copd - oft!! Had to learn all about it for my finals. Just oft.

Well, the car boot was quite a laugh. Unbelievable the tat folk will buy. I made about 50 quid, but we've loads left, so we're gonna do a bigger one in a few weeks. Am on the hunt in my mum's and sister's helping them clearout their mountains of junk have a clearout.

Am full of the cold, and brewing a throat infection I think. Proper feeling sorry for meself. Milking it and letting my mum fuss over me - am gonna miss that when I move south.

ThedementedPenguin Sat 03-Aug-13 22:44:43

Nurse hope your feeling better soon.

Oh that's really exciting nurse I've lived with my Dp a year now, but previously to that I lived with his family for 6-7 months. It's been great, except his cleaning standards are way better than mine so I get on his nerves that way.

BlindKitty Sun 04-Aug-13 08:03:26

nurse you know what they 'one nurse's tat is another nurse's treasure'!

penguin omg I think I might have gone mental if I lived with my dh's parents!

Brookers - speaking of pils, Dh told his mum about our imminent iui/ivf and we had a little tiff about it the other day. I'm not mad that he told her but I wish he'd perhaps told her not to discuss it with me! She called 3 times to 'congratulate' me and was in tears! Wouldn't mind but I'm not even pregnant yet but now feel like I'm under pressure for it to be successful - AIBU?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 04-Aug-13 08:32:49

Nurse I hope your feeling a bit better this morning. My mum lives abroad most of the time and down south when she's in England. I love seeing her if I'm ill/tired as no one looks after you as well as your mum smile it's so exciting that you actually get to live with your DH soon!

Kitty that's awful, did you manage to explain it all to her? My MIL has really struggled to get her head around IVF and how it works. When we got here yesterday both of them seemed ready to pop open the champagne! I sent DH in to explain that I'm not pregnant while I discreetly nipped to the loo.

We went for a meal last night with PIL and two of their friends. The male friend had been to a summer fair with his grandchildren that day and kept making jokes with my FIL about a whack the rat game they had there shock I nearly choked on my water a few times.

BlindKitty Sun 04-Aug-13 08:55:27

cups finally someone who agrees! It's bad enough letting ourselves down each month let alone someone else! Dh just doesn't get it! Also really not sure about discussing my reproductive health with my mil!!!! Have had to tell my mum now so even more pressure!!! Oh but btw, you are pupo at the mo as opposed to 'not pregnant'!!!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 04-Aug-13 09:29:01

I know Kitty, it's just more pressure than we need. No way would we try to explain PUPO to her, she was really struggling to get her head around the fact the IVF does not always result in pregnancy grin

ThedementedPenguin Sun 04-Aug-13 09:45:01

kitty it wasn't actually that bad. We get on great and they are very easy going. Plus his mum was so good to me last time I was pregnant as I went off all meat and she cooked me a separate meal which she didn't need to do but insisted (sp?)

kitty I hope you've been able to sort it out with your PIL. Try not to think of them during the whole thing, you def don't need any extra pressure. Can you tell Dh to speak to them again?

Still brooking lots for you cups. Hoping this month goes quickly for you and your embies have gotten themselves settled and comfy.

Kitty I feel for you. I totally know what you mean about the extra expectations adding pressure. That's exactly how I felt, which is why I ended up banning MrM from mentioning dates to anyone. They knew, but not when, as it would've been constant phone calls. My parents knew as te IVF is so involved, and as MrM works shifts, sometimes I needed a lift to the clinic.

How are you feeling lovely Cups? I hope you are taking it a bit easy.

How are you feeling today Nurse? Better I hope. Not long till you'll be down on the sunny south grin yes, COPD. Bit different from what I'm used to!!

BlindKitty Sun 04-Aug-13 13:36:51

penguin I d

BlindKitty Sun 04-Aug-13 13:41:44

Start again!

penguin the best thing to do is to not talk about it and hopefully they'll forget yeh whatever

cups yeh but yours will wink

Well been very virtuous and done a double class at the gym today. So bored now though - car shopping for dh. Know it's presumptuous but we're going to have to ask about space for a pushchair and baby seat

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 15:12:33

Am still loaded with the cold, but not poorly enough to warrant a day in bed, so am up to work then home to bed at the minute. penguin know what you mean about standards, mr nurse is properly tidy with a bit of ocd, whereas I'm a disaster. I've told him we'll be employing a cleaner, but he'd rather do it himself, whereas I'm happy to throw money at the situation for someone else to do it. Especially when we're both working long full time hours. Life's too short for coming home to clean a bathroom. How on earth did you cope living with the in-laws? I get on really well with mine, but not sure how I'd cope living with them!

kitty, I was amazed at the utter crap perfectly nice items folk were buying. You're so right with that saying.

The big move south is 3 weeks today - so much to do before then!!

In other news, I've had some mucky spotting today, which I get sometimes prior to AFs arrival, so am pretty sure that's me outta the game for another month. Ah well.

Boo to the cold Nurse. And to sodding AF sad. But yay to the big move!! So exciting! Then you'll be diffed in no time wink

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 20:25:22

I know maybe trying to focus on the positive, although it's so easy to let another disappointment put me down in the dumps. Am trying really hard to accept that it's AF on the way, and not get my hopes up as for past months, where I told myself it might be IB or something. I guessI'm further down the line now, and I know myself better. AF not actually due for another 8 days, but I know I'll be driven demented between now and then by this spotting BS. Oft. It's a bloody carry-on this TTC.

That would be very early spotting for AF Nurse......

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 20:39:57

Don't you bloody start Maybs!! I'm bad enough without encouragement! It's 8 days if I go to a 32 day cycle, but only 6 if I go to 30 days, which has been known. I've had spotting for the whole week before an AF, although looking back, the spotting was from CD 34...hmmm....

No, seriously, I'm not even acknowledging the spotting today as anything although I SO BADLY wanna be in Maybe's club this month. AF will rock up in a few days, so there's absolutely no point in emptying boxes, bags and drawers looking for a test -or indeed going the shop the morra to buy in a few--.

How about some dancing in the meantime?!

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 21:11:30

Maybe, what an excellent idea! I think it's time to crack out the sound of music soundtrack - am going for a hip hop version. Drop the beat. Have you got on your curtain outfit? I've customised mine - it needed some serious bling - booty shorts and a crop top, oh yeh!

I can't fit into mine Nurse <fashions an outfit out of an actual curtain>

<grabs the dog in place of a watermelon>

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 21:22:53

Penguin (I SO wanna call you Pingu) I fear I may be nuts, and that Maybs is just trying to help me contain the craziness. Either that, or she's revelling in it, and therefore encouraging it! Don't hate the players Pingu, hate the game, and if you canny beat em, join em <hands Penguin a curtain mini-dress, some stripper heels, and a very 'bling' diamond-encrusted dollar sign-necklace>

grin Nurse!! I am a tad crazy too. It's all good.

I think some bacteria is having a party in my mouth. I've got a massive ulcer and a raging sore throat. I reeeeeally don't want to get up at 4.15 to go to Macclesfield tomorrow. sad

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 22:25:16

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 22:25:53

Also Maybs, getting up before 0930hrs should be illegal. Fact.

ThedementedPenguin Mon 05-Aug-13 22:27:13

Oh thank you nurse

<shows off her curtain mini dress>< twirls a few times, gets very dizzy and falls down>

Oh and loving my blingtastic necklace. It fits in perfectly with my bling dollar sign Bracelet and ring :D

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Mon 05-Aug-13 22:29:21

grin at Nurse and Maybe. You two are crazy-fact.

Ouch Maybe, ill be up at 05:00 for my first day back at work if that helps?

PinguPenguin how are you doing? Any symptoms yet?

IVF Brookers I'm now 3dp3dt and I'm still really bloated. I look about 3 months preggers shock my belly is quite firm as well and I've put a couple of pounds on. I'm thinking it must be a mild case of OHSS. No other problems apart from tiredness, constipated, windy etc which is all probably to do with the pessaries. I'm still having lots of water. Any advice/reassurance?

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 22:29:33

Oh my, we've gone all "brooker ghetto" - this must be a first!

On the up-side, at least it's taken my mind off my other craziness!

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 22:32:59

Cups, am no expert in the IVF stuff in fact I know sweet FA, but from a student nurse perspective, a firm belly and wind/constipation go hand-in-hand, and if you're drinking loads, you may have put on some water weight, hence the lbs/bloatedness. Bet you still look mighty fine though xx

Am brooking for all of y'all, and am off to write a rap version of 'how do you solve a problem like Maria'. Na night, boom!

<frumps in, sees all the hot young things struttin their funky stuff, frumps back out> too old and knackered for this malarky wink

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 22:42:03

Boo get your backside back here <stern>

Nurse don't say the t word shock

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 22:53:08

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Mon 05-Aug-13 23:02:34

I'm only worried as I am getting bigger as each day goes on! I've put on 2lbs since yesterday. My wee practically looks like water grin I'm a constipated but managed to go earlier sorry for the over share wink

nearlyanurse Mon 05-Aug-13 23:08:44

Clear pee means you're well-hydrated cups, good job! Mine is currently like irn-bru (seeing as we're sharing) - not so good! Speak to your clinic/nursey-type people if you're worried - that's what they're there for x

ThedementedPenguin Mon 05-Aug-13 23:12:57

We love the over share cups grin

I'm good, the tiredness is kicking in but so far (touch wood, fingers crossed) its not as bad as last time. Also I'm finding if I eat chocolate I feel a bit sick.

I'm finding it all so wierd as with my first I tested because I woke up exhausted, spent all day half asleep on the phone at work and the sickness (although never actually sick) was awful. I'm waiting for it to kick in and remind me of how it was.

Wow what a speech.

I'd take the clear pee as a good sign Cups. And your bloods never came back a worry did they? If you are at all concerned, call the clinic though. Hope your first day back isn't too awful x

Pen I have crippling tiredness. Was the first thing I had. Then the nausea. But you may escape it this time <fingers crossed>

<admires Boo's incredibly sophisticated new look>

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 06-Aug-13 07:47:18

Cups I was bloated for what seemed like ages too - I can't actually remember how long. Though I recalll I was quite pleased that I could do my jeans up to go to work (even though I usually need a belt to keep them up). But give the clinic a call, I'm sure they won't mind, and if they say its normal you can start worrying about soemthing else grin

By the way I've called the men in white coats to take maybe and nurse away. They'll be back soon once they've had a little rest grin

nearlyanurse Tue 06-Aug-13 11:49:36

beedles how I'd love a little rest, sounds good to me. As long as I have maybe with me to take my mind of ttc mentalness (any other mentalness is ok in my book).

BlindKitty Tue 06-Aug-13 19:35:55

nurse loving the 'brooker ghetto' - this needs to go in the next thread title!!!!

cups boo to ohss, have you spoken with your fc/nurse?

penguin we need to save 'pingu' for your bean when he comes along!

So in my news I called the hospital yesterday and disputed my clomid dosage with iui. My prog levels at 100mg were 115! I've googled it and normal levels seem to be about 10-30. So the nurse agreed I can reduce to 50mg, just can't understand why the fc was so set on 100mg! Really can't afford to waste an iui because of the fc's incompetence!

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 07-Aug-13 07:26:47

excellent news kitty but surely if they had to cancel an iui becasue you overstimulated that wouldn't count. I know you don't want to waste a month but surely you'd still get 3 actual attempts (it is possible I am being very naive). Is it next week you start taking teh clomid?

I'm waiting for AF to turn up so I can call the clinic to organise exact dates for my next attempt. MrB found an something on our company intranet about how we can choose to pay for fertility treatment directly from our pre-tax salary (therefore saving approx 30%) Which, if we get to that stage, is pretty damn good. I haven't looked into it very closely as I'm obviously hoping one of our free goes will work, but its good to have a back-up plan 2 years ago I thought that the free goes at IVF were a good back up plan

SweetieTime Wed 07-Aug-13 08:25:14

Cups thinking of you love. Hope you are coping ok. Any concerns speak to the clinic, that is what they are there for.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 07-Aug-13 09:05:08

Kitty well done on getting your clomid dose sorted. When do you start then?

Beedle I hope (for once!) AF turns up soon so you can get your next cycle sorted. That's great about the tax savings for IVF. I know what you mean, I'm starting to think about what we will do if we use up our 3 attempts.

I haven't bothered ringing the clinic as I know they won't be interested plus some of the bloating has gone down. Which is now fuelling my paranoia that it hasn't worked. I can't bloody win! This is going to be a rough couple of weeks. Im 5dpt and am currently mentalling that implantation should have happened between day 3-4 and I've felt nothing. I've not even had a bit of spotting to give me some hope of implantation bleeding. I've still got 12 days until OTD.........

keepitgoing Wed 07-Aug-13 09:35:13

oh cups you CANNOT know if it has worked. Bloating or not, spotting or not, nothing is reliable due to all that's happened to you and the fanny candles. You just have to hang in there. Your OTD is stupidly late though, so I expect you'll be testing at the weekend.

beedle you have great options over there in sweden, hey! Not that you'll need them. Do you get three free goes then? I hope that you get to have a good talk with the clinic about what happened to your embies and why they didn't all progress as expected, and if they are going to change anything. Will be interesting to have their take on what happened and don't let them fob you off. Will you be doing LP again?

nurse I'm brooking that this is your month.

Love to everyone else. I'm now back in the UK crazy busy organising our lives into some semblance or normality. We should be moving in to our rental on Friday, but first job is to get into the NHS. I plan to go to the surgery in a tight top to show off my bump and get me seen quickly!

You'll all be joining us soon, brookers, you mark my words!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 07-Aug-13 09:53:23

Thanks for the reality check Keep smile I don't think you had any symptoms is that right? I'm going to try to hold out for another 8 days before testing as I want to do it when I've got a day off work.

Wearing a bump revealing top should help you get through the bouncers receptionists grin

SweetieTime Wed 07-Aug-13 10:27:24

cups I agree with keep there is no way of knowing. I had no spotting or cramps around implantation. Anything I had could have been down to the progesterone. hang in there lovely.

nearlyanurse Wed 07-Aug-13 10:35:59

cups I'm desperate to start testing because I'm clearly mental, but will try and hold off for 8 days with you. Am due on in a week anyways, and could quite happily test twice daily until then, but I don't know if I can deal with the disappointment of more bfns.

No more spotting for me, not even any ridiculous symptom spotting, other than sore boobs (I had to actually hold them as I ran down the stairs this morning), but I was out running late last night, so that might explain it.

Hello lovely ladies. Thought I'd nip in for a bit of hand holding (for you of course, not me smile).

Cups, lovely lady, I am brooking my brookingest brooking for you - hang in there! I think you have momentarily forgotten the key brooker rule for symptom spotting. Remember:

Any symptoms? Pregnant
No symptoms? Pregnant

Fact.

Your OTD is an age away - but we'll get there - remember we're all ere with you ticking the days off.

Nurse - I know we've not really met but hoping that your love south goes swimmingly. Remember though that since you are clearly already preggers, no heavy lifting for you young lady!

Hope everyone else is ok. Beedle when did you say your next appt was? How are all our newly PSEPPs?

Maybe - how many weeks now? Do you have a scan date coming soon?

<leaves freshly baked brownies>

Biscuits!! So nice to see you. Thanks for popping by and reminding me of the diffed rules. I am of course pregnant and have my trusty Gu ramekin dusted off and ready for action. The poor thing has been discarded into a drawer with a pile of expired pregnancy tests. I found some internet cheapies that expired in jan 2012 shock
Hope you, your DH and your two lovely boys are well x

Nurse I would love a pee stick buddy that's if we can wait that long. I'm thinking of handing all the tests to DH to hide!

I've just got back from my last acupuncture session. It was more painful than usual when she was putting the needles in. She thinks is to do with changes in hormones. Still it was a nice session overall and I had a sneaky nap.

yes, I had no symptoms other than those that could quite easily have been the delightful white gunk. I think it's a good idea to wait till your day off. Will DH be home with you that day?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 07-Aug-13 18:04:27

A week on sunday is the only day we are both off work but I've just realised its his best mates birthday and we are meant to be out all day. Hmm this testing malarkey is going to be harder than I thought. I've asked someone to swap the saturday shift with me but I'm not holding out much hope. It's nearly impossible to get someone to do a Saturday.

I don't mind doing it in the morning before he goes to work but I'm worried that if its negative it might hit him pretty hard.

Oh cups, it must be extra hard to wait to test when you are pupo, but we're all with you. Hope you and DH can get a day off together to celebrate. I'm brooking!

nearlyanurse Wed 07-Aug-13 19:35:09

cups am a nightmare. I'll probably do a sneaky test at the weekend while I'm with mr nurse, even though it'll likely be a bfn.

keep am struggling with the pupo attitude, but working on it.

BlindKitty Wed 07-Aug-13 20:46:52

beedle nope, even if THEY overstim me I still lose a go!!! Hence why I don't want to take any risks! Know what you mean, we've been ttc for I we 2 years too and never thought we'd be here!

cups I start next week eek! I've had my currier delivery of enough needles to take up iv drug abuse should tabs fail! Think I'm going to book some accupuncture tomorrow. So excited for your otd now!!!

nearlyanurse Wed 07-Aug-13 23:10:37

What's the score re: accupuncture??? want some pronto

BlindKitty Thu 08-Aug-13 06:01:07

Well there's 'some' evidence that it can help with fertility, especially ivf and probably iui. I was really skeptical at first but after my one session so far I did feel extremely relaxed so will start again with it I think

ThedementedPenguin Thu 08-Aug-13 09:18:21

I take a day off the thread to help my sister and I miss lots so will try and catch up.

keep I'm glad you got the clomid sorted out, hopefully now you won't lose a go. Although that's a bit unfair if you overstim due to, too much clomid you lose a go.

Beedle any sign of AF?

cups how are you feeling?

Is acupuncture sore? Oh I can't imagine doing it.

keepitgoing Thu 08-Aug-13 09:21:27

Ooh I meant to say to kitty that maybe was right, I did have my first iui cancelled because of clomid. But not because of overstimming but because it made my lining v thin, a recognised side effect. The following month I took a different drug which didn't affect the lining.

keepitgoing Thu 08-Aug-13 09:22:32

Make sure your acupuncturist knows about fertility. I went to one who seemed good but wouldn't do anything in the tww, which is when its meant to impact.

BlindKitty Fri 09-Aug-13 06:20:01

keep one called me back last night but she'd never even heard of iui so I decided against her. So many seem to be men in my area but I'd much prefer a woman!

cups how you doing bud? X

keepitgoing Fri 09-Aug-13 07:51:53

Good call kitty, if you're gonna pay it might as well be someone who knows something!

One day closer, cups and nurse.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Fri 09-Aug-13 08:20:40

Morning Brookers

Yep one day closer, it still feels like an age away. I'm swinging between complete desperation that its not worked to silly pregnant fantasies. It's mainly desperation though to be honest.

I'm 7dp3dt, I've still not decided when to test. DH and I can not find a single day together to do it.

Anyone know how long it takes for the trigger shot to be completely gone. I'm 12 days past it now.

Kitty good luck with the search for an acupuncturist. Mine did know about fertility which is why I picked her over the only other one in my area! But she is really quiet and I have to do all the talking which is a bit annoying. Are you getting excited?

Nurse how are you doing?

Morning lovely brookers, sorry for the incommunicado, have been up north with work and had no reception!

Cups I too swung from one to the other. It's the worst 2ww ever. You know you've had an embie put back, which I think makes it more of a head fuck. They say trigger takes 10 days, then it should be gone. I tested on my own. I think I just felt I could get my head around it first, then tell MrM. If that makes sense?

Kitty, you have to be comfortable with whoever will be doing it. MrM and I went for a few months last year. It's relaxing definitely. But we didn't see any effects. But sometimes it's worth it simply to relax.

It doesn't really hurt Pen. Some of the sensitive bits are uncomfy, and it also turned out I was a bit allergic to the needles grin

How is everyone doing?

keepitgoing Fri 09-Aug-13 09:39:49

I agree, 10 days for trigger to go cups.

Cups, I believe the trigger should be gone by now, but remember what happened to Geek, hers did linger a bit sad <I miss Geek> sad

I also miss lovely Geek

<tries to lure her back>

Maybe we need to leave out some half finished spread sheets, she wouldn't be able to resist grin

<sets out easel, flip sheets and highlighters>

nearlyanurse Fri 09-Aug-13 10:43:22

Am ok cups, hope ur doing ok. Am down with mr nurse over the weekend so will probably do a sneaky poas just in case. I briefed him up last night that if I'm not preggers now, from the day I move down we'll be getting jiggy at least every other day, whether he likes it or not. His comeback was "you do know that's rape, right?" don't bloody care

Am interested in the sound of acupuncture. I've had it in the past for injuries, and liked the results. Will try to find someone once I'm settled aswell as finding a hairdresser and beautician.

Good for you Nurse, it's good to lay down the ground rules grin

here Geek look, you can have as many as you want if you stay grin

Nurse I like your style, you tell him!!! grin

grin Boo

ControlGeek Fri 09-Aug-13 14:10:56

<wanders in, lured bt the smell of half-finished spreadsheets>

cups lovely I had no idea you were so far through your ivf. I'm so sorry I've not been here to hold your hand through it. Time moves a lot faster outside the fred, I swear it does. If you haven't been testing out your trigger with frers, then I would say don't test before 15 dptrigger. Frer are far and away the most sensitive. I tested pos on 11, 12 and 13 dptrigger and the nurse said it's not unheard of for the trigger to hang around that long, but that it could also be a failed implantation. Without testing out with frer, there ws no way of knowing. Oh it's so hard, this waiting malarky, lovely, but you will get your bfp! You are pupo with two, which gives you double the chance. (((Hugs))) have to go, am in the pub with mrg and he is giving me death stares for being on my mobile for so long xxx

Geek it's so lovely to see you. We miss you so much. Have a pint for me. Hope you're having a lovely day x

keepitgoing Fri 09-Aug-13 15:10:21

geek!! So good to see you. Hope all is well and looking forward to meeting you!

<Jumps on Geek> I'm never never not ever letting you go grin

Oops nearly forgot <high 5's Maybe for a perfectly executed Geek trap> grin

Good job Boo! But we failed to set the net properly to trap her hmm

Solars Fri 09-Aug-13 15:46:22

Cups lovely hang on in there, I know it's tough, if you do want to test I would do it either 14 or 15 days past egg collection. I was quite convinced it hadn't worked this last time because I had no symptoms so you really can't tell! Lots of brooking for you!

Beedle lovely to see you around too. Has AF turned up yet? Hope you're doing ok.

Geek welcome back.

Nurse lots of brooking for you too if you're testing this weekend.

Kitty have started your iui now? With reference to acupuncture, I did it for a few months and it did make a difference to my period as it was light, but I'd say the main benefit for me was relaxation and a chance to off load on someone else. I dod it all the way through my first ivf except during the 2ww as my acupuncturist doesn't recommend unless it's to relieve any symptoms. This time around for my ivf I only did the before and after transfer as they do say that helps.

Big waves to everyone else....<still awaiting Imp's O2 invite>

Don't worry Maybe now we know how to lure her we can work on locking the door behind her next time!!

BlindKitty Fri 09-Aug-13 20:12:08

solars that's interesting about not doing it in the 2ww as cups thought that's when they should! Hmmm wonder who is right?! Anyway for now, neither of the therapists I emailed have bothered to call me back!

cups hang in there bud, nearly there

Would say hi to geek but I think she's absconded again!

So this weekend I have the baby shower (I have organised) and a christening, just what I need the weekend before I commence iui lol. Please brook hard that I won't fall apart lol!!!

nearlyanurse Sat 10-Aug-13 07:17:03

Be strong kitty kat!

Kitty the recommendations for accupuncture with IVF are ideally just before, and just after transfer. Then I think you're meant to wait until the BFP.

I feel your pain about being surrounded by babies. I think during TTC, almost every single one of our friends, and I'm not exaggerating, had at least one baby. I think I became immune to it in the end, but there was a point that I really struggled, and avoided baby showers as I needed to be in the right mind set, and I knew going would undo everything.

You sound like a strongun though lovely xxx

How are all the other brookers on this grey morning?

<runs in, checks everything's tidy, don't mess it before X MIL gets here shock runs out again to check every where else is still tidy>

<whips up a Victoria sponge for Boo>

BlindKitty Sat 10-Aug-13 10:21:14

maybe you know I'm actually having doubts about going or at least staying. I know I've organised it but I think I might have been overcompensating... Dh is going to be on stand-by having 'locked himself out and needing me to come strait home to let him in'. I dropped the pretend champers earlier and it exploded across the kitchen - I swear its an omen!

I think you need to do what's best for you Kitty. Good plan to have DH locked out. I may well have used that excuse before wink

ThedementedPenguin Sat 10-Aug-13 10:26:38

Hi everyone <waves>

I'm back so you can call off the search party. smile

kitty it's great that your Dh is in hand with an excuse for you. Hope things go okay for you today.

ThedementedPenguin Sat 10-Aug-13 10:27:06

Sorry posted too soon.

How is everyone doing?

BlindKitty Sat 10-Aug-13 10:32:49

Thanks guys. I don't actually have a better option and I do really have to go. Just going to have to put on my brave face and suck it up!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sat 10-Aug-13 10:40:12

Geek!!!! grin it's bloody lovely to see you my dear! Don't worry I know you are always brooking even from afar. I knew you had an extra long trigger shot so I've been wary of testing early. How are you doing? We miss you lots. I don't blame you for taking a break though. You are so right that time moves quicker in the real world! X

Kitty I don't think it was me who said acupuncture should be done in the two week wait, I think it was Keep. Tbh I don't know much about it. I've heard that pre and post transfer is good. My acupuncturist likes to do one roughly around implantation time. Acupuncturists seem to vary a lot on their advice! Good luck for the baby shower and christening, it's a good idea to have DH on standby. You might be absolutely fine but if you find it too much at least you have an excuse ready. Don't worry about the fake fizz, it's not a sign. The stuff is no substitute for the real thing and no one will miss it grin

After I last posted I got a phone call from a very good friend to tell me she's pregnant. I took it hard tbh, I did a good job of sounding happy on the phone as she was so relieved with my response that she started crying. I felt even worse then as she such a good friend to be worrying about how we would feel. It's just awkward timing.

How is everyone else? Sorry if I've missed anything. The app on my iPad wont let me read the thread for some reason so I had to have a quick look at the Internet site on my browser.

BlindKitty Sat 10-Aug-13 10:47:16

cups you'll be telling her your preggers soon though so don't be sad! Xxx

It's tough Cups isn't it. But Kitty is right, it will be your news to tell soon smile. Have you decided on a test day yet?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sat 10-Aug-13 11:00:43

I really hope so Kitty and Maybe.

We still haven't decided on a test date, we had thought of wed/thurs but now DH might have to go London for work then. I still haven't got any tests yet!

When is the OTD Cups?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sat 10-Aug-13 11:19:57

It's the 20th which is 17 dpt, how many dpt did you test?

I tested 10dp5dt. But OTD was 2 days after that. It's such an agonising wait.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sat 10-Aug-13 11:28:01

Well if I test next Thursday ill be 13dp3dt and it will be 15 days post EC and 17 days post trigger so I would expect a positive by then.

I agree Cups. You would def get a positive by then, and there'd be no chance of it being the trigger. Order thee some tests!! Did your clinic not give you one?

ThedementedPenguin Sat 10-Aug-13 13:55:10

cups I have spare tests if you want them. I don't want them in the house so was planning on giving them away any ways. If you want them?

BlindKitty Sat 10-Aug-13 20:55:11

How long do you have to wait after the trigger shot?

They say 10 days Kitty. How was it today?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sat 10-Aug-13 21:10:44

Thanks for the offer Penguin, that's really kind. Do you mind posting them? Should I pm you my address?

nearlyanurse Sat 10-Aug-13 22:09:56

Well ladies, I think am outta the game this month. I reckon that bitch AF will rock up the morra, and so have just been consoling myself with b&j. Fingers crossed and lots of bling ghetto brooking for next month.

On Nurse I'm sorry lovely.

But if it cheers you up, I read b&j as bj. Yes, consoling yourself with a blowjob wink

nearlyanurse Sat 10-Aug-13 22:46:01

Ha maybe, not so much it was so much better than any kind of sex.

grin Nurse!

BlindKitty Sun 11-Aug-13 08:05:00

maybe no one even bothered to tell me that re the trigger shot! I presume it's the same stuff they use for iui? Re baby shower - I did amazingly (even if I do say so myself). Think the alcohol free Sauvignon blanc had something (psychologically) to do with it! No tears at all! In fact, being on the mf christening!!!!

nurse it's highly likely I'll be joining you today! Just poas for the sheer fun of it anyway and got the usual result!

Well done Kitty!! I know nothing about IUI, but if the shot has got HCG in it, then yes, it can be up to 10 days. Sorry about the disagreeable piss stick x

BlindKitty Sun 11-Aug-13 09:12:04

maybe yeh it does, it's 'ovutrelle'. Totally makes sense now I think about it!

Yeah, that's what I had. Naughty they didn't tell you!

ThedementedPenguin Sun 11-Aug-13 10:15:26

cups yea on me your address and ill get them posted tomorrow. They just online cheapy ones. Save you a bit of cash.

nurse I too read that as bj, but b&j sounds great right now. Wish I had some.

kitty I'm glad to hear how well you did yesterday. Just one more day to do. Should hopefully be a good day for you and not too hard.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 11-Aug-13 10:33:54

Penguin I've pm'd you, thanks smile

Nurse I hope you are wrong about AF, I'm not sure that ill be choosing a BJ to console myself if its a bfn for me wink

Kitty well done for surviving the baby shower. I hate baby showers but I'm going to be a big hypocrite and have one if when I get preggers. I think it's only fair as I've had to endure so many for my friends grin

Well I'm feeling very negative today. No symptoms at all, I've had absolutely no spotting/implantation bleeding. My boobs are only sore cos ive been poking them every two seconds. I nearly cracked and used my out of date tests this morning but DH became suspicious when he heard me rummaging through the drawer first thing and confiscated them shock

Maybs when is your scan? It must be soon

Oh Cups, lack of symptoms really doesn't mean nothing, neither does the bleeding or lack of it. It is the longest couple of weeks in the world, and I m totally feeling for you. There came a point when I just needed to know, so I tested anyway grin

Scan is on Tuesday. Am so nervous about it.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Sun 11-Aug-13 11:12:56

Thanks Maybe, in a way I wish I had tested this morning. My next day off I Wednesday so I defo won't test until then. No way could I go to work and look after babies after a negative!

I'm brooking like billio for little Ernie. I'll be checking the thread on my breaks xxxx

Thanks lovely Cups. I hope Wednesday comes round quickly. This whole process is just full of waiting isn't it?!

Thank you for the brooking, I need it smile x

Oooh good luck for Tuesday Maybe! How many weeks will you be then? Is this your first scan?

Cups I'll also be checking for your BFP on Wednesday! When is your official test day? Is it Friday? I just remember it was a crazy long time!

Hope everyone else is well. Kitty - when do you have scans / appointments? I've lost track! Sorry blush

Sorry for those who AF is threatening - I'm just off swimming and then I'll go after her with a baseball bat and sort her out <flexes muscles and pulls up sleeves in a business like manner>

That'll teach her Biscuits wink

I'll be 7+6 on Tuesday. First scan, and I'm so nervous.

Have a lovely swim smile

ThedementedPenguin Sun 11-Aug-13 12:20:39

cups ill get them posted out assoon as I get home tomorrow. So should be there before Wednesday.

maybe can't believe your scan is so soon. That time has flew in. I bet your all excited to see Fin.

How you feeling Pen?

It's horrible, but I don't feel any excitement. Just nerves.

How are you doing Pen - how far along are you now?

Do you have any scans etc booked?

BlindKitty Sun 11-Aug-13 15:51:06

maybs that's mega exciting grin will be penguin soon!

ThedementedPenguin Sun 11-Aug-13 19:26:53

I'm good. Not long home. We decided to go away for the night, it was good but so glad to be home.

Other than the tiredness in the evenings I don't feel any different most of the times. However when I do stupid things like eat too late I become bloated and feel awful.

On Friday Dp went out and came back with a Chinese, I only had an onion ring and I barely slept all night. So going to doctor tomorrow to see if I can get something.

I'm 6 weeks 1 day pregnant smile feels like I've been pregnant forever! In a good and bad way. Past few days I've felt so negative about it like when I finally get a scan there will be nothing there as I don't feel same as last time. Try to keep reminding myself that its just different.

No scans booked. It's all different here as your booking in appointment is at the same time you get scanned. Actually you get scanned first here at the appointment to make sure your pregnant before they put you onto the computer.

Would love to have an early scan but ill not get one.

So do you get scanned at 12 weeks pengers?

Boo to heartburn. Gaviscon was my friend during my pregnancies I used to swig it from the bottle blush

ThedementedPenguin Sun 11-Aug-13 19:45:58

I should hopefully get one between 10-12 weeks. Can't wait to find out when.

It's not heartburn, it's just bloating and feeling full of wind. It's lovely. Anything I can take without going to doctor?

How's everyone doing? Have a nice weekend?

I don't think te doc will give you anything Pen. Mine has just said its normal! You could try peppermint tea, it really helps, but I can't stomach it at the moment. Other than that, just make sure you don't wear tight clothes and are drinking lots of water.

ThedementedPenguin Sun 11-Aug-13 20:01:07

I was taking tablets until I read the leaflet saying do not take while pregnant. I need something as its so uncomfortable.

Might just ring in the morning or try a really good chemist.

BlindKitty Sun 11-Aug-13 20:04:49

penguin can you afford to go for a private scan? My mate said she paid about £100 but was well worth it

I feel your pain Pen I had the exact same thing, and the IVF drugs made it worse but i think it's settled down a bit now. Apart from when I wear fitting clothes. I think I read somewhere that you can dissolve some bicarbonate of soda in some warm water and that can help. It will pass though. I think doctors are very reluctant to give you anything, especially in the first trimester.

Kitty we're going to get a few private scans too. For peace of mind, it's so worth it smile

We paid £75 for ours Pen (and it was the best money we spent!). Having had a miscarriage though with my first pregnancy i was ridiculously anxious about everything!

BeedlesPineNeedles Mon 12-Aug-13 09:33:48

cups I totally agree with the not testing on a day when you have to work. My OTD was a Thursday which was why I tested the sunday before. Though as I had already started and finished bleeding by the time OTD came around the negative didn't come as much of a shock and I was fine to go to work afterwards.

Can't believe I missed geek what can we lure her out with next time?

penguin and maybe hope you both feel better soon

I just spoke to my clinic. I thought that they would work out when I need to start DRing, based on the date of my latest AF (I think it will be this month) and then they would just send me the rest of the details. But no, the dr hasn't even decided my treatment yet, so I need to ring back at teh end of the week.
I requested a meeting with the dr too, as I think we should have some kind of failed cycle review (a shocking idea I know!) But they said that if they counldn't find a time soon it might delay the treatment shock Finally we agreed that I didn't mind starting the DRing before seeing teh doc, so hopefully they can amange to find a time with the doc before I need to start stimming

Oh Beedle what a mission! I hope you can start DR very soon and that nothing gets delayed

ScarlettInSpace Mon 12-Aug-13 10:14:30

Morning all, just checking in so you don't drop off my Threads List lol

Good luck tomorrow maybe and cups am brooking like billio for your pee stick to be a fully working non-faulty positive one!

waves at geek too, she is worse than me these days!

beedles matey here's to a more successful round of treatment this time, think of the first go as diagnostic so they can really tailor this one to you personally...

kitty hope you're ready to trailblaze on IUI and prove it DOES work! Oh and check again re funding, I was expressly told by the nurse that if they abandon due to over or under stim then it doesn't count, just like IVF, unless they get to the actual IUI/EC procedure then its not classed as a full cycle so you keep funding.

Hello to everyone else!

Need some brooking myself ladies, I've just written to the NHS Trust to see if they will review our IVF funding and let us repeat a cycle FOC. I found the letter from my consultant to my GP saying we had agreed minimal stim IVF for the last go [which was our single funded full cycle, the first one doesn't count because it was cancelled] - when we went to the nurses info session the nurse changed it to maximum stim as she thought that was best. I don't know if you guys will remember but when all the eggs fertilised abnormally I did some research and max stims has been linked to abnormal eggs.... So I've written to them and asked if we can have the actual treatment that we agreed with the consultant rather than the one the nurse interfered in. Not holding my breath but sod it what have I got to lose? Vegas or Bust lol grin

Happy Monday everyone!
<only has slimfast to leave behind, sorry...>

Good for you Scarlett! I'm keeping everything crossed that you get another cycle. I know lots of people have had success with lower doses.

ScarlettInSpace Mon 12-Aug-13 16:07:24

Well y'know, if ya don't ask, ya don't get grin

Not expecting a jot from it, but at least I know I've tried...

Well I'm brooking that it will come good lovely Scarlett, if not, I'll be after them....

Solars Mon 12-Aug-13 16:19:48

Good thinking Scarlett I'm brooking for you too!

Beedle let's hope you have plan in place by the end of the week.

Hope af hasn't turned up today Nurse

Kitty well done you for survive the baby shower!

Brooking like mad for Wednesday Cups

nearlyanurse Mon 12-Aug-13 17:28:22

Hello hello, well af rocked up as expected yesterday so (in the style of a "dragon"), I'm out for this month. Was a quick wee 29 dayer, which I can live with - so much better than 40-42 days, which have been casually driving me crazy with their random appearance every few months.

Had a bit of a mental weekend with family illness, but been thinking about y'all. Hope everyone is doing ok!

Oh no Nurse, is everything ok?x

musicalmrs Mon 12-Aug-13 19:33:42

Sorry to hear about AF Nurse. Hope things are ok.

Penguin, I would echo the early scan advice. I had two on the NHS due to ridiculous amounts of bleeding (in hindsight, I think AF continued to some degree for a couple of months into being PG). It took a lot of fighting for, and we'd agreed to go private if we couldn't convince the NHS peoples.

Cups, brooking like mad for Wednesday!

Beedle, all sounds a bit useless re your Dr. Hope it all gets sorted soon, and that you can start DRing soon.

Scarlett, good for you! Hope they get back to you soon smile

Hope all the graduate brookers are doing well!

I've been brooking from afar (reading but not finding time to post! ). Having carpets replaced across our house this wk so everything's in a state of madness. However, it was something on our to-do-before-TTCing list.. so that's one more thing off that wink

Have finally gotten round to changing doctors. Discussed lack of AF with the nurse today and she thinks it's the pill I'm on! Hurrah! A tad worried about how long it'll take them to come back when I come off it, but we'll cross that bridge later...

nearlyanurse Mon 12-Aug-13 21:31:31

All ok maybs, just a bit of drama. It's never dull in the nurse household. On the upside, I haven't had a single minute spare to be bothered about my lack of pregger-ness. Every cloud...

Oh you poor thing. I hope things get better soon lovely Nurse x

ThedementedPenguin Mon 12-Aug-13 22:13:20

nurse that sucks but lets just keep thinking this will be the last month. You will be living with mrN so plenty of chances to make a beautiful baby.

musical I was on cerazette before and had no AFs. When I came off it my period returned normally and had one 27 days later. So you might just be lucky enough.

Good luck Maybe! Brooking for you! What time are you up? xxxxx

Thanks lovely Biscuits. 12pm xxx

musicalmrs Tue 13-Aug-13 10:35:49

Eeeek Maybe missed you out of my last post! Brooking lots for you.

Thanks Musical!

Good luck maybe

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 13-Aug-13 14:23:01

Any news yet Maybe? X

I've been having brown sludge discharge all day and some pink spotting so I'm expecting AF. Don't think I'm going to make it to test day. I can have this type of spotting a day or two before AF so my heads all over the place sad

ScarlettInSpace Tue 13-Aug-13 14:39:21

Oh cups hang on in there love xx I know how shitty it is mate, when I did that last IUI my AF turned up after 10 days, I mean TEN DAYS FFS, I got nowhere friggin near a test date angry I have everything crossed its just your body fukkin wi'cha <hugs>

Bad day for me too, I just had a v close announcement, knocked me for 6 really been upset all day [well I'm pleased for them but y'know after 2.5 years I'm losing the will to live...]

I need wine. and pizza. Why oh why do Alcohol & carbs always seem like the answer?

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 13-Aug-13 14:40:42

Oh cups I really really hope its nothing, just your embryo getting comfy. The fear of AF coming before OTD was my reasoning for testing early (that and not wanting to test on a work day). i wish there was something I could say to make you feel better, but I'll just keep everything crossed for you ((hugs))

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 13-Aug-13 15:28:34

Thanks Beedle and Scarlett, I've been trying to keep positive but it's getting redder every time I go to the toilet so it's getter harder to hope its a positive sign. I feel so numb, I feel so unlucky you know? Like I'm stupid for ever having any hope that this might happen for me confused

Scarlett I meant to say as well good on you for taking on your pct, I hope you win. Sorry to hear about a crappy announcement, wine and pizza sounds good. I'm going to be hitting the wine as soon as AF shows her face, I haven't had a drink in 5 months. What a waste of time.

Oh Cups I'm so sorry you are feeling low. But it isn't hover till it's over. I really believe that x

Scarlett I'm sorry about the announcement. It's guy wrenching. I think wine and pizza sounds immense x

The scan was all good thank you smile

Oh cups I'm sorry you're spotting. Of course it doesn't mean its over. Have you thought if testing tonight to know either way? You could just not drink for a while. I am crossing everything for you.

Scarlett good for you on fighting the funders. Worth a try, and you're a brooker after all. Sorry about the announcement, they are just shit. So long as you slap on a smile that's enough for the outside world.

And nurse, now you can properly start ttc. Not living together must have been a nightmare. My dh works shifts like I guess you will, and I used to have to wake home in the evening before he went to work for a little rat smacking. This'll be your month.

beedle! X

maybe lovely that's fab news! Did you see a heartbeat? x

cups I'm still keeping everything crossed for you xx

Lots of hugs for everyone having a tough day sad

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 13-Aug-13 16:12:54

Maybe I'm so glad to hear the scan went well smile

Thanks Biscuits x

Cups I agree with Keep. A test today wouldn't hurt.

cups you're not alone Like I'm stupid for ever having any hope that this might happen for me that's exactly how I feel about the whole thing now, I thought I'd disengaged quite well but judging by todays collapse I've been kidding myself on hmm I may well just turn to booze and enjoy some comfort rocking in the corner...

I've still got everything crossed too xx May need to uncross legs to pee once I've drunk a vat of wine however...

Nice news maybe glad was all ok

ScarlettInSpace Tue 13-Aug-13 17:06:07

PS I hope maybe isn't expecting cups to actually hover?

grin Scarlett!

How you doing Cups? x

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 13-Aug-13 17:39:06

Scarlett I may be joining you in that corner. I'll bring wine x

I've been having brown spotting all day with odd bits of pink/red spotting. I'm quite keen to test but I don't know where the tests are! I've text DH but he's not replied yet.

Oh how frustrating Cups. I hope you find them soon. Not knowing is the worst feeling ever. Limbo land sucks x

Solars Tue 13-Aug-13 17:48:21

Oh Cups I'm still rooting for you, can you nip out and get some?

Really sorry about that announcement Scarlett

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Tue 13-Aug-13 18:26:40

Ok so I've tested and there is a line BUT the test expired in may. I'm going to pop out and get some more tests for tonight and tomorrow.

Woohoo Cups! More tests are a great idea! Though I reckon they'll agree with the first!!

SweetieTime Tue 13-Aug-13 18:35:09

Popping in to see how Cups is getting on and woo hoo there is a line. OMG a line is good, best get an in date test to confirm but May out of date isn't that long ago. I am so hoping this is a positive sign for you. I will be Brooking that the next pee stick shows the same. How exciting.

Oh cups! <squeezes cup's hand>

Good luck lovely! How many dpt are you and how does that translate into dpo?
