SweetieTime Sun 27-Jan-13 09:23:02

Not started a new Fred before but hope it is successful for us as we are going to get our BFPs, either by traditional rat smacking activities or using the power of medical science.

Ladies I do declare WE WILL GET THERE - FACT !!!

NewYearNewBoo Sun 27-Jan-13 09:24:29

Ooh, love the new place Sweetie all spacious and waiting for the BFP's to come flooding in!!

SweetieTime Sun 27-Jan-13 09:26:54

I have some chocolate muffins just about ready to welcome the Brookers, past & present.

<plumps up scatters cushions ready for Brookers and BFPs arrivals>

<runs in following scent of muffins>

Beautiful thread Sweetie loving what you've done with the place.

Keep I hope you feel better very soon, it sounds v nasty. Is it possible nt to respond to the trigger shot? I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

MotherOfCleo Sun 27-Jan-13 09:38:04

Did someone menion muffins...... grin

Nicw work girls, the place is looking rather lovely. Think I'll have this red fluffy scatter cushion and throw, right I'm comfy but god I hope we are all ready to graduate soon!!!

<Raises a glass to all the current and upcoming bfp's>

PearlyWhites Sun 27-Jan-13 09:39:10

What does "brooking" mean.

BeedlesPineNeedles Sun 27-Jan-13 09:41:42

Mmm chocolate muffins sweetie Lovely new thread grin

keep hope you feel better soon. Though if there's no sign of AF, I'd be very tempted to test again ( what am i saying, I'd have been testing every time I had a wee! ) How long is your usual LP?

Rather lazy weekend here, I really should get out of bed soon grin

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 09:43:27

Thanks sweetie!
I have no idea about the trigger shot, it only came to me as yet another-- potential problem today... They didn't mention it... I just thought, you can have an lh surge but not ov, so could this be the same?

Muffins, <vom>

Soph80 Sun 27-Jan-13 09:54:52

I'm just here for the muffins wink

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 10:05:08

My period usually comes 16 days after lh surge, with spotting a few days before. I am 17 days past hcg trigger.
Am sure it's just another f***ed up cycle. Hopes are not up.

Welcome soph and pearly. Brooking is the power of positive thinking. This post is not ideal, but the others brook for you when we can't. Tell us your ttc stories. At the moment many of us are starting assisted conception. I had iui this month, TTC 19 months, never a single bfp.

Brooking no argument for BFPs means that we have decided that BFPs are coming and that is that. Fancy explanation

SweetieTime Sun 27-Jan-13 10:09:12

keep did you just <vom> on my muffins? How rude!!! <sniggers behind hand>

Pearly we use the old fashioned term "we brook no argument" on this thread as in we will not take no for an answer when it comes to getting our BFPs or bad advice from twunty Drs etc There are other bizarre terminology used such as rat smacking - meaning getting preggers is similar to the fairground game of chance to smack the rat.

<leaves flapjack for keep in the hope this doesn't make her vom>

SweetieTime Sun 27-Jan-13 10:10:36

Keep have you POAS again?

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 10:20:21

<voms on flapjacks too>
Not tested since Friday, no. I can't take bfns, rather wait it out.

I always seem to buy faulty pee stocks!

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 10:21:42

I am drinking oral rehydration salts, which are horrendous.

Wanna share? wink

<enters cautiously>
<wonders how close to get to keephmm >
hi everyone! I'm soooo tired and feel shitty I'm still in bed. I'm hungry all the time too so keep them muffins coming. I will be pissed off it this isn't the work of a little bean.
brook, brook, brook, brook, brooking brook a little bean for meeee.

NewYearNewBoo Sun 27-Jan-13 11:43:43

Face feeling poorly?? Lovely grin sounds just like it should!!!!

Keep still Brooking that your test was just too early and you will be waiting a VERY long time for AF to turn up!

Hello pearly and soph smile

<steals muffins and flapjack's, finds a lovely comfy chair waits for all the other brookers to bring food arrive grin>

Solars Sun 27-Jan-13 11:44:59

Mmmmm muffins... Thanks Sweetie lovely new home for us as we await our beeeffffpeee's

Hello to Soph & Pearly do join us... I've got a loin of pork roasting in the oven, will that entice you both to stay?

Keep hope you are resting with plenty of fluids. please don't share

Brooking as ever for you Face

Are you out of bed yet Beedles? smile

Not much to report from me but I've had a really awful sinusy headachy pain for the past 2 weeks which I can't seem to shift, feeling particularly achy today too sad I am however very excited about a new jacket I bought yesterday which was only £16!!! yes really £16!

Hope everyone is have a lovely weekend x

oh I do love it when we move to a new place. it really lifts my Brooking spirit.
have dragged myself out of bed I'm feeling a massive clear out coming on. when does nesting usually start?!
do we have newbies?

GreenOlives Sun 27-Jan-13 12:11:41

Place marking ready to congratulate you all as the BFPs come flooding in! grin

Withalittlesparkle Sun 27-Jan-13 13:33:17

I smell muffins and newbies grin

I'm sorry some of you are feeling so rubbish!!!

keep if your LP is normally 16 days (and your 16 days today) and you tested Friday you totally tested tooooo early!!! I had a 13 day LP and only got the faintest faint line 14DPO!!! Just saying!!! Directing all brooking in your direction!!!

face it may be time to accept you're actually as diffed as a diffed person can get, Wednesday is the big day right?

I know sparks im starting to believe it too. yep its Wed. really hope we're not wrong!
yay for keeps obvious testing too early.
ummm I really can't remember what's going on with everyone.

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 13:45:23

Thanks for the brooking. You never know...

Good luck face!! You've passed your scary milestones, I think. Enjoy the scan, and the sickness!

Soph80 Sun 27-Jan-13 13:45:32

I could do with some brooking! AF came today after 1st round of clomid. Aged 33, ttc 19 months, HSG 2 cycles ago, DH 3% sperm morphology

Keepingitgoing - did you get your IUI on the NHS or have to pay privately? Seems to depend of where you live from what I can see.

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 14:30:37

Hi soph, I think we spoke on another thread re clomid. I took it for a month, but the iui was cancelled due to it giving me a thin lining. Do you already ovulate? It sounds like we are in a similar position. Dh had 3-4% morphology over three samples April to July last year. Having taken a massive cocktail of supplements the last four months, it was just repeated and is now 10! I'll find out what they are.

We are abroad until August, so have insurance. At home they wouldn't pay for iui, only ivf after three years, and they counted 3% morph as 'unexplained'. We are just giving iui one more chance, then to ivf, as iui success rates are so low.

Sorry to hear about af. But welcome, as we say here, to day one of your pregnancy. This ttc lark is tough, but these ladies are lovely.

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 14:36:33

Ok, these are the ones I can remember
Multivit, general
Vit c
El arginine
Coenzyme q 10
Celery extract
Horny goat weed
Goji berries
El cartinine

These are a mixture of antioxidants, and things to increase blood flow to the area (other side effects too!! Iyswim). We don't know which of these had the impact though, so he's stuck on the lot! He used what ltd scientific evidence there is.

There's something else too, but I can't remember what. Will look when I'm home on Wed.

Oh, and so we are going all find blazing till July, as much of the cost is covered by insurance, and so once we move home it'd either be expensive or we would need to wait.

ScarlettInSpace Sun 27-Jan-13 14:48:11

Shameless place marking x

Soph80 Sun 27-Jan-13 15:14:06

Keepingitgoing - how did you know about your womb lining? From a scan? I've been put directly on 100mg (even though I ovulate) and not been offered a scan.

Round 2 of clomid tomorrow, bring it on!!!

Interesting re your husbands SA changing. Mine is taking a multivit inc selenium and zinc but nothing else. We have been offered another SA but we said no as were worried it might be lower next time.

keepitgoing Sun 27-Jan-13 15:30:38

Yes, a scan. You must be scanned. Mine was much too thin to support a pregnancy, on 50mg.

I've seen very limited success of clomid in women who already ovulate, so you need to make sure its helping not hindering. Are you under a consultant? How many months did they give you? Check the NICE guidance, I think it says about scanning, and quote it at them if it does.

Also, I'd go for the sperm analysis, three months after the first. If its worse you may get treatment quicker. They do vary a lot.

Scarlett!! When are you starting your ivf round? Glad you clearly still lurk here...

Solars Sun 27-Jan-13 15:52:35

They put me on clomid too Soph even though I ovulate normally with no scans either. It didn't make any difference obviously considering I'm still here but looking back I think it was just a ruse to buy time which I don't think they should have done. I asked the consultant at the time how likely it would work for someone for me and they said it didn't really increase our chances but worth giving a shot hmm As Keep said I would go for the repeat SA too.

By the way Keep are you taking maca too? I've read a lot about how it can increase egg quality but I also read how it can change your cycle so was in 2 minds in taking it.

SweetieTime Sun 27-Jan-13 16:11:46

<snigger at horny goat weed>

ScarlettInSpace Sun 27-Jan-13 16:14:16

Hiya keep I'm still about wink
Starting on next cycle, AF was due today hmm once it arrives it'll be four weeks from then as I've fairly standard 27-28 day cycle so end of Feb. At nurses appt the consultant had put down 300 units of stims but the nurse asked if we wanted to go full dose [i said yes] and got another consultant to sign off the higher script so we are going all out for this round!

PearlyWhites Sun 27-Jan-13 16:41:45

I understand , brooking is a good thing will join thread in a few months smile

Soph80 Sun 27-Jan-13 17:13:17

keepingitgoing - I have an appt with the consultant 12th (CD 17). What CD do they scan at?

Solars - really? I'm beginning to think maybe she was trying to buy time with me too. Do you / DH have any other potential reasons why you're struggling?

BartletForTeamGB Sun 27-Jan-13 19:33:22

Coming just to say hello so I don't miss those BFPs which will happen, because we are all Brookers! Nice to see some new faces as well!

ControlGeek Sun 27-Jan-13 21:20:06

Argh I'm late to the party! <drags out copious bottles of wine of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety, olives, pringles, nachos, sausages rolls, onion rings and cocktail sausages>

Thank you for the new fred sweetie, much appreciated.

Hello to the new peeps, hope you stick with us because it absolutely guarantees your BFPS. Miracles are our specialty on these freds grin

keep thank you for your list of what MrK has been taking. I read it out to MrG, and he immediately wanted to know what horny goat weed was! I think I have a taker wink He's also promised to cut back on the alcohol, which is good given for the last week and a bit he's been right off it with the D&V. Speaking of which, I really hope you aren't suffering too much you poor thing <hugs> Those oral thingies really do taste vile, I tried one of MrG's. The smell is so deceptive, you think they will be fab them bam! Someone threw in a bucket load of salt and grimmed it all up. Really hope you feel better soon. On the plus side, no AF on the day she should have turned up - well, you know how that ended up for sparks!

I can't remember what anyone else has written sad

solars hope you are keeping well

<waves to maybe, sweetie, sparks, boo, bartlet, beedle, scarlett and everyone else with huge apologies for everyone I have missed - the weekends are normally predictably quiet round here, so I didn't bother coming in!>

Solars Mon 28-Jan-13 09:36:21

I have had a really awful nights sleep and really could do with going back to bed! I'm sitting here in front of the computer screen totally unmotivated and with a long list of things to do by today!! Arghhh!

Soph we're still classed as unexplained however our ivf cycle highlighted a couple of issues firstly they found an endometrioma on one of my ovaries, funnily enough I had never been scanned prior to the ivf cycle, or else it could have been picked up and dealt with sooner (I have since had it removed and no other endometriosis was found). Secondly they suspect that DH may have antisperm antibodies although they wouldn't test for it and said we still have a chance naturally which I'm not entirely convinced about Because we were classed as unexplained and hadn't quite reached the 3 year mark for ivf at the time they gave us the clomid, bit of a waste of time in my opinion looking back.

Geek glad to hear MrG is better, hope you are too Keep

SweetieTime Mon 28-Jan-13 09:42:22

Solars i agree, exactly the same here. Am so shattered, could curl up for a nice nap under my desk.

keep how you feeling today? Still poorly sick or more road to recovery? Don't worry I won't leave any food for you to vom on.

Morning all.

Solars I'm with you on the no sleep front. I can't remember the last time I had a good sleep. Think the stress of everything is keeping me awake. What made them think there were antisperm antibodies?

Keep how are you feeling? Any sign of AF? I'm hoping not.

Geek have you recovered from the farm?!

Welcome Soph and see you in a few months Pearly

Lovely to see you Scarlett brilliant news about the next round. How you feeling about it all?

Lovely to see you too Bartlet Can't be long now grin

Hope your granddad is doing ok Cups and that interview prep is going well!

Wednesday isn't too far away now Face hope you're hanging in there.

Solars Mon 28-Jan-13 10:08:15

<yawn> Sweetie book out a meeting room for a quick nap perhaps? By the way have you had your sticky blood test yet?

Oh Maybe is it the stress of finding work or this whole ttc business? Have you tried relaxation CDs? They sometimes work for me, unless DH is particularly restless too, then were both screwed like last night sad When they were preparing the sperm for our ivf and took the sperm out the centrifuge they found they were all 'clumping' together which they said is a sign for antisperm antibodies. From what I've read if they did a test they could tell us the percentage and also whether the antibodies were sticking to the head or tail, each is bad as it makes them slow to reach the egg but head is worse as it can effect the head burrowing in the egg.

I think its more work Solars though it's probably the two combined! I've never tried a relaxation CD. May be something to have a look at. Is there anyway you can get the sperm tested? Would it make a difference if you went for ICSI?

Solars Mon 28-Jan-13 10:24:20

We think they'll do the test at the next clinic. It doesn't make a difference if we're going for ICSI but I just think both of us were hoping deep down for a natural conception and I for one think its the antibodies which may be a factor, oh and my age too. I guess I just want an answer as well to why things aren't happening. Brooking you get that job soon, Maybe Any interviews lined up? Is what you're looking for quite specific? That I guess can usually take time.

I know what you mean about the natural conception bit Solars I think it took a while for us to get our heads around the fact that that will never happen for us. But once we did, it made things easier.

I have a few interviews lined up and have had a phone interview. The whole process seems to take so much time! I want to get into medical writing, but am also looking at other science/health jobs too. There just isn't an awful lot around for newbies!!

keepitgoing Mon 28-Jan-13 13:09:16

Sorry to disappoint, cd1 here...
Scarlett snap, I will start in 28 days too. Think we've decided on sp for round one, as duh is away part of April and I can't take the stress of wondering.

soph I think it would ideally be pre-ov, so cd17 might be too late, but oi guess they can still measure the lining then. For me with iui it was Pre iui.

I've not taken macca, solars. Don't want anything to mess with my cycles at the mo. If ivfs fail and I'm still here in the summer I'll look into it, thanks! Dh has been more focused on his sperm, which have a diagnosed issue, than me...

Horny goat weed increases blood flow. More morning (and other times) glories blush go for it geek

Bit better today...

So sorry it's CD1 Keep but great that you have a plan in place for 28 days time. Glad you are feeling a bit better, be kind to yourself today.

Solars Mon 28-Jan-13 13:41:48

Right I have done some work now, just a couple of more things to do and then I'm done for today <wonders if I can get a nap in before making supper...>

Maybe it is really tough to get that around your head, you've done so well, but you will get there and you are still very young so lots of chance for things to work out. Gosh and job hunting is very difficult at the moment. Good luck with the interviews x

Keep sorry about AF but I'm sure the ivf is going to give you your result and glad you're feeling better x

SweetieTime Mon 28-Jan-13 13:49:38

Aw keep so sorry to hear af has arrived. Look after yourself. I did sp ivf and didn't have any problems.

Solars i haven't had a nap either, gggrrrrrrr at work getting in the way

Maybe strangely we also found peace after being told we cannot get there on our own, sort of took the pressure off. You are only a young wipper snapper and you will get there.

I worked out my dates based on what I know about when my cycle will be and I am on for a Christmas day baby. So I will be sneezing while you all tuck into your turkey. Not that I am getting ahead of myself or anything wink

keepitgoing Mon 28-Jan-13 14:41:08

One more iui for me before ivf. 12% chance...

I'll have a Christmas day baby too please, like stacks!

maybe I'll be job hunting heavily pregnant in August!

sweetie I was more fretting that dh would have to be away at the critical time in April. But yes, I've read there are fewer side effects for sp.

Agree about the pressure being taken off by needing AC

Come on, Assisted Brooking Babies. Where are you?

BeedlesPineNeedles Mon 28-Jan-13 19:02:08

keep sorry AF caught up with you grrr

sweetie I love your planning ahead and working out your due date already grin

maybe good luck with all those interviews. I'm sure one of them will be the perfect job for you.

Oh and welcome soph may your BFP be with you soon

And one more thing keep can you keep AF there with you, so she can't come to visit me this week. Ta muchly x

Soph80 Mon 28-Jan-13 20:50:45

beedles, thanks but af came yest! round 2 clomid starts tonight hmm

solars - going to insist on a scan but my next appt is 12th CD 17 so guessing it will be too late this month? x

keepitgoing Tue 29-Jan-13 00:53:20

Will try beedle when is she due at yours? Brooking for you. When's your appt?

soph, thinking about it, if you scan on cd17 it'd still show if your lining's too thin. Yes, it'd be too late to change anything this month, but that's true if you scan pre-ov as well. Are you getting any side effects? On paper it should get more people preg, if there are more targets, but on practice doesn't seem to work that well. I think we unexplained have other reasons, as our eggs are there... But you never know... Brooking your bfp in four weeks or so!

ScarlettInSpace Tue 29-Jan-13 09:10:36

sorry not to namecheck ladies, I dip in and out lovely to see you all though x

keep it's a bit weird but we are probably going to be day for day cycle buddies! AF got me yesterday, then I've been up all night with bad cramps & sickness, this is the worst one I've had in a while sad

Was supposed to be in office today but have told boss I've been up all night with tummy bug so am wfh today not getting dressed, fact

Much love x

NewYearNewBoo Tue 29-Jan-13 16:28:43

Cooee ladies how is everyone? Just popping on to ask if it is faces scan tomorrow?? If it is, can I just say brookers brook brooking for you lovely. I will have a seat saved in grads for you smile

Withalittlesparkle Tue 29-Jan-13 16:29:29

ooooh yes Face tomorrow is the big day!!! you must report immediately!!!

NewYearNewBoo Tue 29-Jan-13 16:30:30

Ooh Scarlett meant to say hope you feel better after a pj day thanks

Can't believe AF still thinks she can come for brookers and get away with it angry

Solars Tue 29-Jan-13 16:36:33

Sorry about AF Soph fingers crossed the clomid does do something for you this month.

Beedle when will you be PIAR?

Sweetie a christmas baby you say, how exciting!

How is everyone else doing?

I have got my appointment from ARGC today it's on the 1st March. Just need to get some more bloods done before then and hopefully we'll be cycling soon depending on any other tests they may want or a monitoring cycle beforehand.

I have also provisionally said yes to a friend of mine who is planning a girls trek in Nepal in November i'm hoping this will definitely ensure my pregnancy even though I would actually quite like to go on the trip

Solars Tue 29-Jan-13 16:38:09

Oooo crossed posts, booking for your scan tomorrow Face

Solars Tue 29-Jan-13 16:40:22

I can't believe I missed Scarletts post too, I hope you are still in your pjs, lovely.

Oh Scarlett you poor thing. I hope you are feeling much better after a pj day.

That's great news about your appointment Solars. Looks like we may be cycle buddies!

Good luck for tomorrow Face

Thanks so much Beedle really hope that something comes good soon. How are things with you?

Hello to all other lovely brookers smile

Withalittlesparkle Wed 30-Jan-13 06:58:40

I miss Scarlett's post too, I'm blaming work for being crazy mental busy!! I think maybe the whole week off would be a good move!!

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 30-Jan-13 07:47:56

scarlett hope you feel better soon

face good luck for the scan today

solars I may well PIAR tomorrow, just because I still have loads of IC tests, not that I actually expect to see 2 lines hmm And only a month until your appointment, how exciting. And totally unsuitable holiday plans, your BFP is in the bag!

maybe things are fine here, waiting for a letter from the IVF part of the clinic. We were referred over to them about 3 weeks ago so hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer for a letter. Of course now we have been officially referred for IVF I believe that the mythical pre-IVF BFP should be mine grin

ControlGeek Wed 30-Jan-13 08:07:41

Just a flying visit to say cartoon I am brooking for your scan today!

MrG and my 12th anniversary last night AND I reached my WW gold weight. Am v v v v hungover this morning. Will post more later if I am able to function better.

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 30-Jan-13 08:14:13

MORNING GEEK Oh sorry was that a bit loud grin Congratulations on the weight loss and the anniversary thanks

ControlGeek Wed 30-Jan-13 08:19:37

fer feck's sake shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh beedle grin Right, off to catch a train if my stomach can handle it...

geek well done on getting to goal. I keep my certificate on the fridge to stop me eating to much although its not really working at the moment! sounds like you enjoyed your evening. happy anniversary.
sweetie did u get those bloods done?
hope keep and scarlett are feeling better.
thanks for all the good luck I wish u could all come with me. my appointments not till 2pm.

Withalittlesparkle Wed 30-Jan-13 09:06:57

Happy anniversary geek and well done for getting to goal!!! You've worked so hard!!!

face I'll be thinking of you at 2pm

NewYearNewBoo Wed 30-Jan-13 09:11:54

Good luck for later Face

GEEK WAKE UP!!!!!!!! grin just in case you nodded off on the train smile congratulations on the goal and the anniversary thanks

Morning everyone else, hope you are all well.

ControlGeek Wed 30-Jan-13 09:58:16

cartoon we will all be lined up at the end of the scan bed in spirit at least, brooking for you <creepy> Will be thinking of you at 2pm, can't wait to hear that you have seen/heard your baby's hb.

Thank you sparks and boo. Paracetamol isn't coming anywhere close to touching my headache, and my stomach feels like it would prefer to be anywhere other than in my body right now. It was all in a good cause, but when I put last night's fun into the WW online tracker, it told me the chocolate liqueur alone was 54 points - eek!

Geekhappyanniversary and congratulations!! Well done you. Hope that hangover sorts itself out very soon.

Thinking of you Face

That's goodness Beedle. Is there a long waiting list for treatment at your clinic? But you're totally right. You'll have that ironic BFP by then wink

Morning Boo. Cuppa?

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 30-Jan-13 10:10:33

I think geek means we'll be at the head end of the bed, as it might be a dildo cam scan shock But we'll definately be there holding you hand smile

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 30-Jan-13 10:23:28

maybe I have no idea about waiting lists. I've tried searching the equivalent of mumsnet here, but I couldn't find any recent comments on waiting times. But I think it might be covered by the rule that says you shouldn't have to wait more than 3 months for medical treatment. Actually it might be 4 months but something like that anyway.

That's good to know Beedle so hopefully you will starting with me and Solars. And then you've got Scarlett and Keep...... Why, I do believe that makes it Quintuple Whammy Friday!

NewYearNewBoo Wed 30-Jan-13 11:00:52

Ooh looking forward to the quints whammy Friday smile

Could I have that cuppa now Maybe? Just been to my gastro Dr for a check up by gastro, I mean bum doctor blush <searches for dignity> grin

<finds Boo's dignity under the rug. Dusts it off and hands it back>

Ourselves you can Boo just putting the kettle on now. what's wrong with your bum?

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 30-Jan-13 11:28:01

here boo have a biscuit too biscuit Does it look like your bumhole?? grin

grin grin Beedle bloody brilliant!!

SweetieTime Wed 30-Jan-13 11:56:36

geek woo hoo & many congratulations on your ww goal and anniversary. Hope the headache is going now. Big old fry up is what you need to soak up all that booze now that there is nothing of you grin

face good luck for later, I will be Brooking my head off for you at 2pm. Is MrF going with you to hold you hand?

I been for my blood taking for the sticky blood test. Nurse said "we don't get many of these requests" and had to look up in her book what to do. I hope they don't really, so shows how uncommon recurrent miscarriage are investigated. I get the results in a week or so.

yes Mr f is coming and so is my mum. going to be a bit of a squash for you all! I hope its not dildo cam!

NewYearNewBoo Wed 30-Jan-13 12:17:15

Aah dignity, how I have missed you grin

Don't worry Face we will find space to squeeze in smile

Beedle that's is exactly what it looks like not putting a pic on my profile to prove it though grin grin grin

Maybe I have crohns disease so my lovely doctor likes to have a good look up my bum every now and then blush today I thought I had a common preggo issue but it turns out it is is some swollen scar tissue sad blush hope you all enjoyed reading that bit over lunch grin

Geek hope your barrel fever is getting better <offers bacon sarnie>

Right, me and my shredded dignity are off to collect toddly from play group and have some lunch, I should be back for the scan results smile

That's alright Face we will all squeeze in!!

Boo that sounds nasty. Hopefully things shall be, ahem, moving along a tad better now grin

That's good news Sweetie. Miscarriages are so often overlooked my GPs. Well, that's the attitude of mine anyway. Am Brooking that your blood is not sticky.

I phoned to try and get results of my CF test. Bearing in mind I had it 6 weeks ago, it's still not back. Nurse thinks it could be another 2 weeks shock

its strange this is the most positive I've ever felt before a scan I'm almost calm. I can actually imagine it being good news. before, even the first time, I've only been able to picture bad news. hopefully the power of positive thinking will have helped. be a horrible hour and half drive home if its bad news...

ControlGeek Wed 30-Jan-13 13:45:31

15 minutes until you get to see your UBB, Cartoon. Glad you are feeling more positive about this scan, you know you are doing everything you possibly can, they identified what the likely issue was and it's being addressed. You are in the very best of hands, and I am Brooking No Argument that you will come on here in about half an hour and tell us all about your very real, very happy UBB.

BeedlesPineNeedles Wed 30-Jan-13 13:56:27

Brooking for your results too Sweetie

Sparkes sounds like you need to be on maternity leave already, when do you finish?

Beedle I've got everything crossed for tomorrow

Also we've moved our clinic appointment to the 7 March as the 1st was going to be a bit tricky to get to for DH. Seems like there's quite a few hopefully starting together!

Waves to anyone else I may have missed x

MotherOfCleo Wed 30-Jan-13 19:01:57

yay cartoon so so chuffed for you grin grin grin grin

CruCru Wed 30-Jan-13 19:30:09

Hi all

Congratulations Cartoon! What good news.

I know that I keep popping in and out of these threads - sorry about that. I had a frozen embryo put in a week yesterday and am resisting the urge to test (not supposed to until next Wednesday). Am on lots of drugs, including having DH inject me in the bottom with progesterone every evening.

It was a bit touch and go whether it was going to go ahead because I was having a reaction to some of the drugs so I was a bit relieved that it did go ahead.

Brooking very hard for you all. I'm sure it will happen soon. Mid to late Autumn is a great time for a baby to be born.

Withalittlesparkle Wed 30-Jan-13 19:46:00

Oh cru fabulous!!! I'm totes brooking for you

SweetieTime Wed 30-Jan-13 20:23:10

Cru lovely to see you, Brooking that the frostie sticks and those drugs do the job. Do pop back with news.

CruCru Wed 30-Jan-13 21:00:39

Thanks - will do. Now off to do some injections.

It's a bit random but my clinic gets us all to take one baby aspirin (75mg) every day + a multivitamin with vitamin D. They think it makes a massive difference to our chances of conceiving / getting the blastocyst to stick. I hadn't known that before my IVF.

That's really interesting Cru it's amazing how much you lead throughout this whole process. Brooking for a BFP for you in a few days time!

Hope you're still grinning from ear to ear Face smile

keepitgoing Thu 31-Jan-13 05:23:55

Oh face I am so happy for you!!!!

cru good to see you, and good luck for next week.

scar love that we'll be cycle and bfp buddies! Then sweeties bfp just after, and then maybe and solars!

Am waiting call from clinic re scan and blood tests tomorrow. Have to change drs as my one is away at the critical time next month selfish man dh is away so I'll have to go alone tomorrow. Eek.

So that'll be three dildo cams in the next week! Ivf ovarian reserve check, iui follie check, and iui itself. Sigh, it's like the m25!! smile

BeedlesPineNeedles Thu 31-Jan-13 05:32:17

Don't worry keep you can leave your dignity in the corner with Boo's

cru good luck, I hope its a sticky one

I PIAR this morning but it was a BFN, though my boobies are still sore so its not game over yet (not to be confused with Boo's booby, I hope he/she isn't sore )

keepitgoing Thu 31-Jan-13 06:14:19

Sorry beedle! You amaze me testing each month, I'm a wimp.

Yep, no dignity here!

keepitgoing Thu 31-Jan-13 06:42:48

BTW where's your darned letter, and when are you chasing it?

<bossy boots hand on hip>

Withalittlesparkle Thu 31-Jan-13 07:20:49

I think we should probably have a separate cloakroom for our dignities, like in a club, so you don't need to be burdened by them!!

SweetieTime Thu 31-Jan-13 07:58:13

keep i remember the good olde day when I was terrified of having a smear done. After the amount of probing and proding the fanjo has gone through now there is nothing to be worried about

<realises dignity is well & truly residing in the cloakroom>

Beedle sorry it was a disagreeable peestick - only takes the one or ten good one wink

Cru i would be interested to hear what they have said about the baby aspirin, how long do they advise you take it for? I am willing to give anything a go and have heard a lot of clinic recommend it but mine hasn't mentioned it, I must try to remember to ask next time I speak to them

face officially a preggers - - awwww , how does it feel?

nice to see you cru that's excellent news I await ur soon to be announced bfp.
sweetie I think the asprin is a pretty standard thing that they recommend for any recurrent Mc'ers. if you google youll find loads of articals on why they think it helps. it was in one of the papers but I'm not sure how long ago.
I've actually been told to come off my asprin for a bit (the midwife said its not crucial I have it) although yesterday all looked good I have to get through the next 2wks before they consider you out of the woods.
I have a small area of bleeding above the sac, that's what my spotting is but they couldn't say why. its not really bad but not ideal. if it gets worse it will collapse the pregnancy. so I'm back to bed rest for a bit. hopefully no asprin thinning my blood will help the spotting stop.

BeedlesPineNeedles Thu 31-Jan-13 08:55:04

cartoon I hope you're in bed with a good book/dvd and a big grin on your face grin

keep strangely I find it easier to test. Not that I ever expect to see 2 lines, i tend to POAS and then go and have my breakfast - I don't usually check teh stick until about 30 mins later, so there's no nervous waiting for a line to appear. and of course when there is no second lne I just decide I was too early grin

BeedlesPineNeedles Thu 31-Jan-13 08:56:52

Sorry cartoon that sounded a bit wrong, I meant you should have the big grin because your bean has a heartbeat and you should try not to worry about anything else

thanks beedle grin. we're trying to focus on the fact that seeing a hb now makes our odds loads better and it proves that this treatment definitely helps even if this one still goes wrong.

keepitgoing Thu 31-Jan-13 09:34:58

Well, beedle the line may have been there then faded by the end of brekkie then. As you're doing a smegs!

face it Will Not Go Wrong. This is your perfect wedding Christmas bean. Two weeks is easy after your last three.

Enjoy bed rest!

Smear test, sweetie? I laugh in the face of smear tests.

Appointment set for tomorrow afternoon.

keepitgoing Thu 31-Jan-13 09:36:05

And beedle avoided the question of her missing letter and appointment, anyone else notice that?

BeedlesPineNeedles Thu 31-Jan-13 09:52:03

Sorry keep
We only got the letter saying we were being transferred to teh IVF dept a couple of weeks ago, and it said we would here from them (the IVF dept) soon. I'm quite happy to wait another couple of weeks before I chase them just to give MrB a bit more time to get used to the idea (is nearly 2 years not enough? hmm ) I suppose I'm still living in hope denial that we'll get a natural BFP

keepitgoing Thu 31-Jan-13 10:06:13

Just teasing. Is mrB not feeling ready just yet? I may well have a melt down yet, but feeling mostly excited so far.

Scarlett how are you feeling, we start soon!

BeedlesPineNeedles Thu 31-Jan-13 10:32:31

Oh I'm quite excited by the idea of finally getting there but MrB is still a bit stressed at it being his fault. Also I think he thinks that his JIAJ days are now over, I don't think he quite realises that he will have to JIAJ again when if we get as far as egg collection. he finds it quite hard to perform in that way on demand, there would be no way he could just pop into a room at teh hospital and produce a sample 5 mins later.

MotherOfCleo Thu 31-Jan-13 10:36:47

AF got me sad bit gutted tbh. I've had a serious wtf cycle and thought that was a good sign....alas just kidding myself again. sad

BeedlesPineNeedles Thu 31-Jan-13 11:57:14

sorry to hear that cleo. Was AF very late or did you have lots of preggo symptoms?

MotherOfCleo Thu 31-Jan-13 12:11:12

It was just an odd cycle, metallic taste and salivating at 9&10dpo, cramps all month, spots, odd spotting and just felt different. But alas no BFP. sad

ControlGeek Thu 31-Jan-13 13:29:01

So sorry AF got you soph and cleo. But welcome to day 1 (or is it 3 in soph's case?) of your pregnancy. Brooking no argument that BFPs will soon be yours.

Cartoon your scan sounds fab, and it's great that they were able to identify the cause of your spotting too. If they know what it is, they can usually deal with it. 7.5 months down the line, you will be having your very own newborn snuggles. Fact.

beedle hope your IVF comes through soon for you. I too test pretty much from 1DPO as it takes away the desperate itch that creeps up, usually about half way through the day. I now refuse to use anything other than ICs until AF is overdue though.

scarlett great to see you are still around, I was a bit worried that we had managed to kill off the pot plant with all the gin and vodka we watered it with over christmas!

cru very best of brooking luck for the remainder of your 2ww, I hope that your frostie is a sticker.

keep how are you feeling now? Hope you are starting to get over your D&V. It must be very draining, especially with AF arriving at the same time <hugs> Bought some horny goat weed with maca for MrG today - so shock at the price though! £24 for two weeks' worth, on top of £43 for his Vit E, £8 for my Vit D3, plus various other vits rocking in at a grand total of about £100/month. I am in shock and wish I hadn't just worked that out sad

Sorry for lack of posts recently. There's still no news on my appointment for my op, and I am feeling very disheartened and definitely not at my brooking best.

It was almost four weeks ago that my cons first said he was looking at dates and I would hear from the clinic shortly. Almost two weeks ago he gave me the two possible dates of 18th and 20th Feb. It's now looking highly unlikely that either of those will happen. I will contact him again on Monday (the only day he works at that particular clinic) and try and find out what is going on. I can't believe it is almost a year since I first saw my GP. I was referred to the NHS gynae with a recommendation for IVF last May. At this rate, I won't even be able to start IVF until May/June depending on my op recovery time.

We've decided to go ahead and keep trying this cycle, since we have no idea when the op will be and the chances of it being before AF are very slim indeed. MrG's still not completely over his D&V though, so we may still miss the boat (am on day 2 of CBFM highs today, not yet DTD this cycle, I'm expecting my peak hopefully in the next 3 days or so).

keepitgoing Thu 31-Jan-13 15:01:30

geek try buying on line, way cheaper. I'm so sorry this is all taking so long for you, it must be so frustrating. Hopefully their communication is just crappy but you're already booked in for Feb.

Withalittlesparkle Thu 31-Jan-13 20:42:58

Argh I hate to hear AF has arrived!!!

Solars Thu 31-Jan-13 21:07:45

Cru so good to hear from you and I am brooking for you next Wednesday! So exciting!

Geek I really feel for you, it's so rubbish that you still haven't heard from your consultant and a fixed date. I really hope you can speak to him on Monday and get a definite answer.

Sorry about AF Mother be good to yourself.

Beedle how are you doing with stuffing MrB with all his nutrients right under his nose?

Sweetie was that Baby Makers programme just a one off? I got the impression it was part of a series but haven't see any others advertised, or have I missed them all?

Keep have you started the drugs for the next iui now?

<Dignity? What's this dignity you mention?? I think my dignity has shrivelled up and is lurking in the darkest corner of the cloakroom>

BeedlesPineNeedles Fri 01-Feb-13 05:41:25

geek how rubbish that you're still waiting, I hope they get their arses in gear soon.

solars I'm slowly working on Mrb's diet, trying to introduce new stuff and get away from processed meat. I used to eat much more healthy food when I lived in England, and he would live on hot digs and burgers if given the choice hmm Though he does eat a lot of fruit so he's not all bad.

Well AF has turned up here, exactly on schedule hmm but at least I'll have no problem remembering what cycle day I'm on this month

keepitgoing Fri 01-Feb-13 05:41:49

Oh yes, I only saw that one episode of baby makers, are there more?

No drugs other than the ovulation trigger this month, solars. Reason a) ivf consultant doesn't want ovarian stimulation the month before iui. Reason b) it only made me make one egg last month, and I can do that on my own. Reason c) I didn't like getting itchy heat rash for two weeks. So an easy decision!

Nervous about this afternoon's appointment. Esp as dh won't be there.

My sister left today. I can bore you with all my feelings at some other time.

keepitgoing Fri 01-Feb-13 05:48:27

D'oh, I mean 'the month before ivf'

SweetieTime Fri 01-Feb-13 08:03:09

keep did you get to speak to DSis before she left or did it remain closed topic? Good luck for this afternoon, lie back think of England & you will be fine

Beedle so sorry to hear af got you, she is officially a biatch

Solars i haven't seen any more baby makers listed either. It did have the feel of a series. There was a series on BBC northern Ireland that I recorded but it was very sad & almost depressing as none of the couples got preggers throughout the 4 or 5 episodes. shock shock not sure if it was the clinic or what.

keepitgoing Fri 01-Feb-13 10:13:59

I'm back. I guess it was OK, only without dh there I found it hard and didn't ask all the right things. Am I doing the right thing in having ivf now? I have no job, ffs.

Re my sister, in the end I did talk about the treatment, she was sweet and v interested. I asked questions re the pregnancy where necessary, and she barely mentioned it, or the baby. That in itself made me sad, is she not excited as it's no 2 and so easily won, is she hiding things and our relationship ruined. Neither are great options. We did not talk about the fact that I am insanely jealous and irrationally angry about her pregnancy and its timing. That would be untake-backable. In all, it wasn't as bad as I'd feared, and was great to see her and my niece. But it was also exhausting, both from there being a 2yo around, and from all the everything. I am sad that I am glad they've gone. Does that make sense?

Thanks for listening...

oh keep. I think ur sis is just trying to be sensitive about the situation but maybe going the wrong way about it. I would feel that sitting there talking about my pregnancy would be like rubbing your nose in it and completely the wrong thing to do.
I totally understand the feelings you have about it all, we can't help the way we feel.
what happened at ur appointment?

keepitgoing Fri 01-Feb-13 10:30:39

Was a scan to see ovarian reserve (he said normal, at 4 on each side, but Google seems to show that a bit low), amh and STD blood tests, and discussion of the cycle.

I know you're right really, face, am sure it was hard for her too am a bit short on sympathy though

SweetieTime Fri 01-Feb-13 11:37:55

keep you poor thing. It must be so difficult for your sis too, I wouldn't want to discuss my pregnancy with someone struggling and going down the intervention route. She is probably really excited but feels guilty and doesn't want to rub it in. With regards to timing of ivf, is there ever a good time? We have often spoken about the things we would never have considered if we had easily got diffed. It just gives you more time to mental about everything and every little detail. Take it easy and try not to Google, we all know it just causes too much confusion & worry.

Solars Fri 01-Feb-13 11:58:39

Sorry about AF Beedle <shin kicks AF>

That is strange about the Baby Makers show as just seemed there would be more Sweetie and shock at the Northern Ireland show too.

Keep it's all so tricky isn't it. She may have found it all awkward and not known how to handle stuff. My sil has been a little like that too and my brother hasn't even talked to me at all about their pregnancy, which is very sad. They're probably not wanting to stick it in my face. I don't feel jealous or angry about it but I do feel quite let down in terms of how they have handled telling me. My brother has always been the person I'm most closest to in the family as well and with the other pregnancies they'd told me when they'd even started trying and most things. I guess I could speak to them more in depth about how I'm feeling but to be honest for the first time I'm just thinking of myself at the moment and making sure my feelings are being looked after. You're going through an almost recurrent grieving process month by month, even more so with assisted conception, you've been through 2 iui's, you're onto the next one and maybe on to IVF, that's a lot to deal with. At the moment all you can do with your sister is keep it on a level that as you say doesn't become un-takebackable. Just acknowledge it is just very sad for both of you, this awkwardness will pass especially when you get that bfp.

CruCru Fri 01-Feb-13 12:57:22

I honestly can't remember how long I have to take aspirin for. Am on so many drugs that I now just take whatever I'm told to when I'm told to.

Keep - I think it is hard for pregnant women when they're hanging with someone having trouble. Having said that, it's hard on the one having trouble too. I remember reading some booklet given by my clinic - Coping with infertility? I think it was called - that really people should understand if you don't want to do a bunch of baby focused activities (like christening). Not sure if that's helpful or not.

I have some news. I'm not meant to test until Weds but cracked this morning - and I got a positive! I am not going to get too excited until Weds though. I've Googled (dangerous I know) and it says that the reason for making you wait 16 days after transfer is so the HCG from the egg release injection is out of your system. However, I used a frozen blastocyst so I'm hoping that means it really is good news. But I'm not going to get too excited. Or start investigating tandem buggies.

Solars Fri 01-Feb-13 14:19:25

CruCru congratulations!!! It can't be the hcg shot if you hadn't injected it. How many days after ET are you?

CruCru Fri 01-Feb-13 14:41:21

Thanks Solars. I'm on day 11 I think (yes that would make sense as day 16 is Wednesday).

BeedlesPineNeedles Fri 01-Feb-13 14:58:21

cru that's fab news, fingers crossed it´s a sticky one thanks Is this your 2nd IVF now?

Oh Cru that's amazing news!! How exciting. Bet Wednesday can't come soon enough for you!

Keep I'm sorry you are having such a tough time of it at the moment. It's such a difficult situation. I'm pleased that your scan came back normal and that you get to go drug free for a few weeks.

Beedle sorry AF got you. She's on he way here too. Feels like my stomach is a balloon!! I have no problem with AF coming at the moment, I always expect her. But why oh why does it have to be painful? There must be some crazy biological reasoning behind it. I think it's to encourage us to procreate wink

CruCru Fri 01-Feb-13 17:04:31

Hi Beedles - yes it is. I had IVF in 2010 to have DS.

Withalittlesparkle Fri 01-Feb-13 17:12:12

cru amazing news!!!! Look forward to getting proper confirmation on Weednesday xxx

Withalittlesparkle Fri 01-Feb-13 17:12:51

Bugger not sure why I added all those kisses! Please don't ban me to netmums!!

CruCru Fri 01-Feb-13 17:21:54

That's cool, it's nice to be able to tell someone. Think DH disapproved of the early testing.

ControlGeek Fri 01-Feb-13 17:40:43

oh cru that is amazing news, congratulations!!! If you haven't had to take a HCG trigger shot, there can only possibly be one reason for your test to show positive - you're diffed grin

sparks not sure if it was intentional, but I'm loving you turning cru's POAS day into weednesday grin We'll let you off on all the kisses, but only because you're a crazy preggo woman hahaha

keep I don't think it's even possible for there to be a 'right thing' for a pg person to do around a longterm ttcer, it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. It sounds like you and your sister handled it the best way you could under the circumstances. At least you were both able to make the most of the time you had together before she went back, and nothing was said from either side that would make picking up your relationship difficult in the future. Well done on going on your own to the appointment, it must have been so hard. An excellent decision on just taking the trigger, no more heat rash <yay>

beedle will that bloody AF woman never learn? So sorry she turned up for you. Hopefully she will overhear some talk of your forthcoming IVF and it will scare her off for good. I'm obviously being a bit slow today because it took me a long time to realise what you meant about not forgetting your cycle day this month <blonde moment emoticon>

Guess what arrived in the post today? My op appointment letter! grin grin grin About bloody time and all. I'm a bit shock and <gulp> as it's booked for the afternoon of Monday 18th Feb. I'd so convinced myself that they wouldn't be able to do it that soon, with not having had the letter yet. I'm now hoping that ov is delayed by a few days, as MrG and I got a bit busy yesterday evening and AF won't have had time to arrive by the 18th...

Right, best dash, need to post back my pre-op assessment questionnaire while it's stopped raining.

<waves to sweetie, scarlett, boo, cartoon and leaves mcvities breakfast biscuits for everyone since I have bloody boxes of the things thanks to the MN product trial>

Withalittlesparkle Fri 01-Feb-13 18:32:54

geek completely accidentally, but a rather awesome one!! Thanks for letting me off! I'd be lost if my brookers shunned me!!!

Yay for appt letter coming through smile

Solars Fri 01-Feb-13 18:38:43

Geek well done on finally getting that op date confirmed, yay!

Maybe when I was so so, so much younger I would get quite painful periods too, I wish I'd listened to my body and procreated then sad but then of course I wouldn't have been with MrS

Have a lovely weekend all x

CruCru Fri 01-Feb-13 18:49:36

Geek - good news!

NewYearNewBoo Fri 01-Feb-13 19:08:32

Oh Geek that is the best news! So happy for you grin <-----big happy face, see!

Sparks I'm keeping an eye on your hunnerisms!!! Just saying wink

keepitgoing Sat 02-Feb-13 07:01:50

Wowee cru that's amazing news!! If seems to agree with you.

geek, there's another brooking victory - the 18th that's no time! So happy!! Do you have a pre-op appointment?

Thanks sweetie solars geek, I think you're right that there's no right answer. Had a bit of a cry on Skype to dh last night, who was as always immensely practical. Nice, but not always what you want, eh? Anyway, am feeling better today and am going to do nothing all day as v tired, what with visitors and illness.

solars I'm sorry you're finding it hard with your brother and sil. I think in a way being forced to spend a chunk of time together was good, as we couldn't just ignore it, iykwim. You must definitely put your feelings first, but that doesn't necessarily mean keeping quiet if you'd rather they spoke about the pg then you could say that?

sweetie wise words. Yes, I don't have a job, but equally I'd go mad not doing anything about getting pregnant these next six months. You're right about it all, we can't plan. I am naturally a bit of a planner which is one reason I'm finding all this so hard.

Does anyone else feel that the whole getting pregnant thing seems removed from actually having a baby? I'm so obsessed with that bfp I think I've almost forgotten what it'd lead to!

maybe any news on your results and dates? I sometimes have horrendously painful, though light, periods. Once I was at a work meeting and went pale, sweaty and dizzy, but couldn't work up the energy to excuse myself. I then had to lie in my car for two hours and then drive two hours home at 40mph. The pain for me only lasts about four hours now, then it's minor, and I always love the feeling of no pain afterwards, it's such a relief! But when I was younger it was a full day. That'll be just one more reason to rejoice when you get pregnant! My mum and various nurses have told me periods are much less painful once you've had a baby, as well is it just in comparison to labour..

Watch it sparkly, darling... BTW I hear twinkle is no longer an UBB! How exciting! Time flies.

keepitgoing Sat 02-Feb-13 07:03:59

I've just realized it's Feb - when are the Triple Whammiers due?

keepitgoing Sat 02-Feb-13 07:05:29

geek I'm actually going to brook that you ov today, then get your bfp on the 18th! smile

GreenOlives Sat 02-Feb-13 08:24:42

Morning ladies!
Great news cru and geek! smile
keep Im due 24th but have appt on Mon for growth scan and the docs are keen for babyOlives to be evicted prior to due date so I am trying the old wives tricks to assist - even rat smacking (which is no easy thing when you are whale sized! wink ) I believe the other 2 are due on 21st - very exciting! Sorry you are feeling down at the mo, I remember well how soul destroying and grueling the TTC process can be and Im sure the assisted route makes it even harder. Its completely natural to just concentrate on achieving the elusive BFP - once you have you get a good few months to get your head round an actual baby coming! I started trying for this one in June 2009 and I still don't feel particularly prepared and ready for it! wink hmm
Lots of luck with the IVF cycle. And that applies to all of you lovely brookers! smile

MotherOfCleo Sat 02-Feb-13 08:29:42

ok, random question, after some research I've put myself on extra Vit C, Vit E, Vit B6 the B6 is just for after I OV as I found out it can help reduce post OV spotting. Plus I've put the OH on vits which no doubt he'll forget to take and extra Vit C as it's meant to be really important for healthy sperm. Just wondered if anyone else has looked at vitamins as a way to speed up the TTC process? TBH I'm willing to try anything and am open to any tips grin

keepitgoing Sat 02-Feb-13 08:31:51

Hi Cleo I posted the other day about the millions of pills my dh is on.
I'm currently just on a preconception vitamin, and omega fish oil.
But clearly my tips aren't working as I'm still here. Do the opposite!! ;)

Solars Sat 02-Feb-13 08:47:17

Olives wow, I can't believe that has come around so quickly! Good luck to you and the other tripe whammies!

Keep we do see SIL and bro often but I'm usually accosted by their kids. I don't know we'll see, maybe it'll all come out when I can put all this ttc behind me. I'm glad you're feeling positive, its always good to have a sob with DH.

Cleo I was always of the mind that if you eat healthy then you shouldn't have to worry about extra vits, I have however succumbed to omega 3 and Q10 recently and also looking at the zita west vits hmm I guess preconception vits are also a good option. DH is just on the vit c.

CruCru Sat 02-Feb-13 09:54:39

Hi Cleo

My clinic are very keen for everyone to take a vitamin D supplement. They ask me whether I'm taking it (and baby aspirin) every time I see them - they think it really helps conception as most people in the UK are a bit deficient in the winter. Also, take folic acid as well, for when you do conceive.

Geek that's amazing news about your appointment! T-16 days!! How you feeling about it all?

Olives, where on earth has the time one?!

Keep no news on result of CF test yet. Should be here soon hopefully. When the pain hits it's normally here for 36 hours. Then it goes. My periods are also quite light. At the moment I'm at the blasted stage before it hits. The joy grin

Cleo I honestly don't think vitamins have any beneficial effects unless you are deficient in something. With the exception of folic acid. Just be careful of some of the high strength vit c tablets as they can have harmful side effects.

Withalittlesparkle Sat 02-Feb-13 10:14:50

keep what eagle eyes you have!! You're right twinkle is no longer a UBB rather a BBBB (baby boy brooking bean) 20+1 today!!

You're right about TTC too, you become so focused on getting a BFP that the actual baby thing just takes a back seat! Like olives I feel wildly unprepared, in fact it was only really at my scan on Thursday that it truly started to sink in!!

On the vitamin front, for months and months I took every supplement under the sun, but the month I go pregnant I was taking a prenatal vitamin, evening primrose and agnus castus! My pill popping that month was erratic at best!! The last two were to help with my irregular cycles!!

As maybe said its only if your body is in need of something that you really need to load up! cleo have you spoken to your doc about post OV bleeding?

cru how are you feeling today? I'd be testing every day!! I did.... 4 days in a row and then again a week later!!!!

do I spy a bfp from cru!
keep I know what you mean, I'm so focused on getting pregnant and staying pregnant that sometimes I forget what its all for.
sparks I'm so jealous of how far along you are! I can't wait to be at a stage where I can relax slightly and enjoy it. had a bit of a panic yesterday over some red blood but that seems to have stopped now. I'm currently under house arrest.

keepitgoing Sat 02-Feb-13 11:12:14

Argh face this bubba is certainly keeping you on your toes! Sorry about the bleeding, but you know the reason. Do you have any more scans coming up? Hope house arrest isn't driving you too bonkers.

A boy, sparks, how lovely! And you're halfway there! I really hope some of us will overlap pregnancies with you.

maybe, could they be any slower with your results. Hope work and job stuff is OK, at least you have lots to occupy yourself as you wait.

cru, line update please!

its so annoying but I'm supposed to rest. they saw a small bleed on my scan but didn't really have any answers why. could mean ill mc. could be a previous preg that didn't really get started. could be burst blood vessel. etc etc. so I just have to hope it doesn't get worse. I'm hoping that the red blood yesterday was the majority of that bleed coming out and that its all ok now.

ControlGeek Sat 02-Feb-13 11:39:26

sparks OMG you're having a BBBB!!!! Yay - you can now plan nursery colours and things accordingly smile

keep no, I've not been given a pre-op appointment yet, but I had to complete and send back asap a pre-op assessment questionnaire. I think they determine from that, and from when your op is due, when to give you the pre-op assessment. There was a question on there 'do you have any queries or concerns you wish to discuss' so I've said yes, I want to remove the ovarian drilling from my procedures list. Grrr to practical men! Don't they know we just sometimes want them to listen and let us cry? Hope you start to feel better soon, and get your old energy back. You will need it for your impending BFP, whether it be by IUI or IVF.

olives I cannot believe that that time has come around already - it really does just feel like a few weeks ago when you, bartlet and little made brooking history. Brooking for your sneeze births!

cleo after 12 years there's very little I haven't considered! At present MrG is on wellman conception vits, horny goat weed with maca (thanks keep I have just bought two months' worth for £29, beats the hell out of 2 weeks' worth for £24 grin ), high dose vitamin C, high dose vitamin E and taurine. I am taking a standard multivitamin with iron, folic acid, vitamin C and 4000 standard units of vitamin D3 each day. I used to take EPO, B6 and agnus castus, but my already wacky cycles just went insane. After a 60+ day one, I stopped both. The one that seems to have made the most difference (or it could just be coincidence) is the D3. My cycles were anything from 28 to 60+ days in length. Since starting the D3, ov has been on or around CD19 every time. This month my EWCM has been super-prolific so a shame we daren't DTD!

maybe T-16 and loving it grin I probably shouldn't be this excited about undergoing such an extensive procedure but I'm actually thrilled. My mum has said she will come over the day after the op as MrG has to go back to work, so I'm looking forward to that as much as anything. I don't see her anywhere near often enough. Brooking for your CF result, hope it comes through soon for you.

Ov is definitely imminent for me, but I don't think it's going to happen today. I have worked out that as long as I ov no later than three days from now, AF will be due on or before the day of the op. The sticks are looking like I might get a +OPK either tomorrow or Monday, so it's anyone's guess. To play it safe, MrG and I are not going to DTD any more this month.

My cramps are normally fairly bad for about 4 hours, but manageable, but this last month I had to take the day off work and I was curled up on the sofa crying, they were so bad. This month, I'm handling AF the way she deserves to be handled - surgical removal!!

GreenOlives Sat 02-Feb-13 14:10:48

On the subject of vits I have taken lots of weird and wonderful combos over the years of TTC but I would agree with the others who have mentioned D3 - its also supposed to prevent early miscarriage once you are pregnant. I think that with a prenatal multi vit is most important but I also took Q10, Omega 3 and Selenium. Zinc is good for the boys to help the swimmers too! smile

keepitgoing Sat 02-Feb-13 14:16:27

Let us know how the horny goat weed works geek blush God, what is ovarian drilling sounds scary and why don't you want it?

sweetie have you seen the donor egg success on the egg buddies thread... Just sayin' ;)

NewYearNewBoo Sat 02-Feb-13 17:20:55

Loving all the vitamin talk, DH takes a lot any way (vit c, omega 3, cod liver) for his body building I can only see him building a bay window at the moment though grin but when we were ttc he also started on argenine to increase blood flow round the body, specifically .......... you know .......... wink

MotherOfCleo Sat 02-Feb-13 17:40:13

boo ive heard argenine can be good but both me an OH suffer from coldsores so cant take it, its one of the things which can trigger them. I take a prenatal vit too, do you think I need to take extra Vit D too or will the prenatal cover it? I'm taking extra Vit E, C and B6 to try an level my hormomes a bit.

CruCru Sat 02-Feb-13 17:49:52

Have a look at the components of the prenatal; it should include vitamin D and folic acid.

NewYearNewBoo Sat 02-Feb-13 17:50:18

Aah yes, a cold sore, in my experience, is a bit of a passion killer!! Not sure about the level of vits, I was on take pregnacare ttc ones, and now on the normal preggo ones, they say on the box what percentage of rda they contain. Not sure about extra vits on top of those though <useless>

GreenOlives Sat 02-Feb-13 20:14:39

My consultant recommended extra Vit D3 in addition to what's in the Pregnacare smile

MotherOfCleo Sat 02-Feb-13 20:21:01

cheers olive another one to add to the mix. I've checked that nothing I'm taking can be dangerous so FX it helps us make a bubba grin

keepitgoing Sun 03-Feb-13 08:00:44

Cleo you're early days, so it's most likely just a case of catching that perfect egg, and smacking the rat at the right time, of course...

boo bodybuilding...? Does he look like Arnie?! My dh has started doing weights and that since we came out here and he doesn't work shifts, but I did not want him too muscly a way to go yet..

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Morning all!

NewYearNewBoo Mon 04-Feb-13 08:16:04

Morning ladies.

keepitgoing Mon 04-Feb-13 08:16:44

face what news? Are you losing your mind?

so does anyone have a kindle? (i know I'm slightly behind) I've always been against this idea as I love books and the fact that kindle versions seem to be no cheaper. but storing books is becoming an issue. the basic kindle has £10 off it today only. or do I save my money get some form of tablet and get the kindle app hmm

yes keep completely lost it here. on the plus side bleeding seems to have calmed. I am spending my days wondering where my nausea has gone but it arrives most evenings which is a nice comfort to me.

NewYearNewBoo Mon 04-Feb-13 08:23:11

I have a kindle, I luffs it! I was a complete book snob but I have been converted. There are lots of cheap and free books to download too. It depends on whether you want a tablet or not too, I don't see the point in having both unless you are a gadget geek like me

BeedlesPineNeedles Mon 04-Feb-13 08:25:30

I'm here

cartoon are you in our Fb group? we had a little discussion on kindles a few weeks back. If you're not I can come back and summarise it later

Off to a meeting, back later

beedle no longer on fb so I've missed that.
boo I really can't decide how much I'd use a tablet, I mean my laptops ok and I'd need WiFi if I was out and about it make full use of a tablet. I think I'd end up only using it as a kindle once the novelty had worn off. dh reckons I'd be suprised though and that if I had a tablet I'd be surgically attached to it.

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 08:31:55

Hello everyone

keepitgoing Mon 04-Feb-13 08:37:53

I love my kindle, esp living abroad. When living in Zambia English books were like gold dust, but now it's so easy! I have a nexus tablet too, which I love, but wouldn't use it to read from, tbh.
Yes, there are lots of cheap or free books, but it does annoy me how expensive new books are. And how you can't lend them.

Glad the bleeding's stopped. Bring on the nausea, hey? Is dh being good?

cru any more lines to report?

Love how it's always busier here in the week. We brookers are hard workers... wink

ooooo yes cru any news to report?
keep why would you not use ur tablet for reading?
I really want a Samsung galaxy note but I won't pay that much for a phone and my upgrade isn't due for ages. I really don't need all 3 gadgets though!
yes blob seems to think its evening sickness rather than morning.

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 08:50:40

Hi, I am not going to test again until Wednesday. I'm using those digital Clearblue tests which are fiendishly expensive. Also this will probably be our final child so I don't want lots of pregnancy tests hanging around.

Have you all had nice weekends? I work Tuesday to Thursday so it's still my weekend.

they are! but I do love a written word conformation. any symptoms?

keepitgoing Mon 04-Feb-13 08:58:20

Face, just because it's so much easier reading on a kindle. Like reading a book rather than a computer screen.

I agree three gadgets may be OTT smile

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 09:03:44

Pretty much just extreme tiredness. However I have a toddler, quite a hard job and am on an enormous cocktail of drugs so perhaps it is to be expected. I have the odd moment of nausea but as I'm on oestrogen and progesterone, that could also be the drugs. Ugh. I'll be really glad when I don't have to take the drugs any more.

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 09:05:01

I'm being a bad parent this morning; letting DS watch CBeebies while eating the switcher. However I took him to the Science Museum yesterday.

SweetieTime Mon 04-Feb-13 09:15:19

Morning all, I am back from a very luffly weekend in London with dh. We had a very spendy meal followed by show and yesterday very cultural visit to the National Gallery. shock

I will have to read back this evening when on proper computer as I am only on my phone.

face i have a kindle which I really luff. I download all the freebies and cheapie books. I only ever pay full price if it is something I really really want. But I have read stuff I would never have considered before. I got a free Samsung galaxy tablet when I got my new phone. I am not surgically attached to it, but I do like it.

Right better do some work. But will pop back later.

Morning all!

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend Sweetie. Special occasion?

Face I'm glad you are having symptoms. Always good to have reassurance. I have a kindle and love it. I also love books but have run out of room to put them!! I also have an iPad. And an iPhone. And a laptop. What was that about too many gadgets?! wink

Cru hope Wednesday gets here soon

How you feeling Keep? When is MrKeep back?

It's MrMaybes big 30 tomorrow!! So exciting. I feel like the bad wife as I'm so poor I can't afford to get him a big present. But what he doesn't know is that I am throwing him a surprise party on Saturday. He has no idea. I've been arranging it for months. Cannot wait to see his face grin

keepitgoing Mon 04-Feb-13 11:20:38

maybe what a lovely idea! I love surprises, we did one for my dad and it was so much fun! That is your present, so don't worry about that, he won't care smile

I'm OK thanks, have iui scan on Thurs, and iui prob on Fri. MrK back on Wed night, so not long. Am getting a bit mental about if I must say. As in do I really want a baby etc etc. Am losing it, and just going to ignore myself.

Am jealous of your weekend sweetie.

cru how long do you take the drugs for?

Oh Keep I know what you mean. Sometimes I sit here and question whether I really want a baby. But I really do. And so do you. It's just incredible crew helping sometimes. Especially when we nees assistance. But we are going to get there

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 12:03:55

Keep - good luck for the iui. So exciting!

Dunno when I get to stop taking the drugs for. I just mindlessly take whatever I'm told to.

SweetieTime Mon 04-Feb-13 12:10:42

Aw keep and Maybe i have been feeling exactly the same. I am really having a wobble if we are doing the right thing. I am not sure I want, or can cope, with a baby. I question how I feel about it. To be honest it is the pregnancy, giving birth and lack of sleep that I worry most about. DH says we but means I will be fine when it happens. I think long term ttc just gives you too much time to think of every eventuality. If it had just happened month one we wouldn't have had the time, we would have just got on with it. You have reassured me because I thought it was just me that thought this.

Maybe dh will love the party I am sure. You could always give him you with a strategically place bow shock blush

DH is away skiing with his buddies for valentines so this weekend was to make up. Plus I had been a bit down with everything we are going through. I am not sure if it is the meds or what.

keepitgoing Mon 04-Feb-13 12:14:21

You're goddamn right we will, maybe!

It would be easier in some ways for me to do nothing for six months. But there's clearly an issue. So then we'd be home, and looking for jobs, and moving. I will MTFU. At least I can recognise the crazy part of me, and ignore it. It's not taken over yet...

Of course we blooming well want babies. In fact we're rather obsessed with the idea. What are we like smile

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 13:00:44

Hi Sweetie

I worried about that too. You may get a child who is a good sleeper. DS goes to bed at 7 and gets up at 7. He also has a 2 hour nap at 1ish. I get lots of sleep and have since he was a few weeks old. The thing I found hardest was sticking to a routine - and never being able to decide to go out and just putting my shoes on and walking out the door.

You do want kids. But have something else to concentrate on at the same time or you will drive yourself crackers.

Sorry, I hope that doesn't sound patronising.

ControlGeek Mon 04-Feb-13 13:23:55

Just adding my voice to the chorus of do-I-really-want-this-itis! I think it's perfectly normal when you've been TTCing for more than the standard length of time. There is definitely far too much time to think about everything, obsess without having any end result to show for it. I put it down to the body's natural defence reaction to protect you mentally. Just the other day, before I got my op date, I was looking at my mat leave savings and mentally totting up what I could get for the house/what loans could be paid off with it and semi-seriously considering jacking the whole thing in .

Over the years I've been through the whole gamut, including being convinced that I didn't want a child of any description by any means, to being adamant that adoption was the way to go. In fact it was when I was looking at my LA adoption route that I found that I had to have exhausted all avenues open to me via assisted routes, and have undergone infertility counselling. That's what kick-started my need to have my own baby again.

Sorry not to name check, am struggling to keep up with dink boss's dinkiness today. I know I need to get him back in check when I get emails starting 'I was poking around in the admin area'...

keepitgoing Mon 04-Feb-13 13:38:37

That sounds very odd, geek, surely people should be able to adopt who aren't infertile...? Why should you have had to try all AC? Some people don't want to do it. Crazy councils..

ControlGeek Mon 04-Feb-13 13:53:50

keep I think it was more that all avenues had to have been explored, even if it was just to say 'no this isn't for me', and that you had to be fully at peace with your childlessness. The one thing they are absolutely adamant on with my LA's adoption process is that you use contraception for at least 12 months after a successful adoption so I think they need to have confidence that you aren't adopting just because you've been trying for six months, then fall pg within a month of a child being placed with you as that's very hard on the adopted child.

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 13:57:42

Hi all

I cracked and tested again - it still says Pregnant 1 - 2 weeks.

Geek - does it say why you have to have explored all avenues? Perhaps I can see that they don't want a very young baby going to someone who's just about to give birth but there are older children who also need to be adopted.

I have a friend who used to say (when we had been trying for a loooooong time) "why don't you just adopt". It used to do my head in.

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 13:59:04

Ah - Geek has replied already.

keepitgoing Mon 04-Feb-13 14:05:43

How long ng are you post FET now. That sounds right to me cru, and its afternoon wee as well. Congrats again!! Weird to think this dc will be technically the same age as your first, but born a couple of years later smile

Guess that makes sense, geek. Now you go sort out dink boss!

ScarlettInSpace Mon 04-Feb-13 14:12:26

Weird to think this dc will be technically the same age as your first, but born a couple of years later that made me grin

Re the not being sure about a baby thing - I think part of it is self-preservation, like you are half convincing yourself it's ok if it doesn't happen because of x y & z. I must admit, Sundays are definitely when I question the sanity of what I'm trying to do [i.e. when I've spent all day playing on the wii and not got dressed til teatime grin I wonder if I'm really happy to give that up]

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 14:16:38

Hi Keep, FET was two weeks tomorrow. Yes, it is funny isn't it? I had the same conversation with the nurse at the clinic - it's a conversation I probably won't have with the kids for quite a long time.

SweetieTime Mon 04-Feb-13 17:34:44

Cru congratulations I would say there is no getting away from it, you are well and truly diffed. thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks

Scarlett lovely to see you popping in. That is my thought process when I have done something I enjoy that would be difficult with a baby. I think how I will cope with a LO and living my life. I know it is selfish but when it has only been you it is difficult to get out of that mindset.

geek one of my friends is in the final stages of the adoption process. I don't think it was too bad in the scheme of things. Her dp had a vasectomy reversal that didn't work and they cannot afford ivf as he has kids from a previous relationship so not eligible for nhs treatment.

ScarlettInSpace Mon 04-Feb-13 18:15:27

Another time I question it all is when OH's kids have been here more than 24 hours and I find myself hiding in the loo with a book just to get 10 minutes peace and quiet grin yes it is selfish but hey ho!

Ooooh think I forgot to say congrats to cru have a glass of fizzy boring non alcoholic wine

CruCru Mon 04-Feb-13 18:19:28

Thanks all. I have alcohol free beer. That will have to do.

ControlGeek Mon 04-Feb-13 18:49:35

cru congratulations!!! thanks Have seeing the words made it sink in any more? (was it a line test you took last time or a digi?)

Really quick post while MrG is out at the corner shop getting a celebratory beer. Both of his adult DCs have now been in touch and it looks like tentative steps have been made by all to build some kind of a start of a relationship. There won't be any meetings in the offing for a while, which is understandable, but MrG is over the moon grin

I will ov tomorrow or the day after so we are not taking the chance of a celebratory DTD as if it's the day after, AF will not be due until the day after the op. Shame really, I've never had so many ov pains or EWCM! Hopefully the horny goat weed will keep MrG on tenterhooks for the next couple of days then we can get in some post-ov DTD, the first for almost three years grin

will name check later or tomorrow but unmn hugs and buffet of food and alco/non-alco drinks for all smile

So I have the letter for the insurance company re ivf, so hope they OK it in the next couple of days. We will end up paying £1500-3000, depending on how many drugs I need, and if we need icsi. The insurance will pay 2800. Not so bad I guess, but still a lot. But they've paid all scans, iui etc up to now, they just have a maximum per cycle. Anyway, brook that they accept it, else we might decide to just keep iui-ing.

solars what are your overall costs in the uk working out, if you don't mind?

Happy 30th birthday to Mr maybe thanks thanks

keep that doesn't sound too bad, the ivf drugs can be very expensive I was quoted £2000 just for drugs and the treatment was £5000 on top of that shock shock shock shock

Bad night in sweetie residence last night. Poor dh got really shouted at for pestering for an early night blush. I just don't feel like it at all. Not sure if the hormones have reduced my libido or what. The number of times I have pestered poor dh for swi and he was very obliging even when I knew he wasn't really up for it. I now feel really bad sad sad. Poor dh just wanted a bit of loving before he goes away. I was a very cold & heartless wife sad sad sad

keepitgoing Tue 05-Feb-13 09:38:37

Oh sweetie give yourself a break, you have crazy hormones going on. And those other times, it's not like he was doing you a favour, you both want the baby. You prob weren't always up for it either.

Has he gone away? How long for? Could you send him a lovely email or small gift to his hotel, or something just to show you love him?
But honestly, do not discount the impact of the hormones. Yes, it may be tough for him, but it's worse for you.

Big hugs

CruCru Tue 05-Feb-13 20:32:38

Hey Sweetie. You aren't a robot, you are under rather a lot of stress.

Well I got it confirmed by the clinic but the HCG is very low so they want to see me again for another test in 2 days to see if my levels have doubled. Have to take the drugs for another 7 weeks.

I hope you are all having nice evenings.

keepitgoing Wed 06-Feb-13 02:06:03

Brooking that your levels rise; I hear that's what's important cru.

Hope you had a nicer evening last night sweetie

MrK is back tonight! but no rat smacking as we have to save the swimmers for iui

Withalittlesparkle Wed 06-Feb-13 06:26:37

cru your levels are going to rise, end of!

SweetieTime Wed 06-Feb-13 17:58:59

Very quite in here today, we had dropped off the main board.

Cru I am brooking that the levels rise to where they need to be.

I just wanted to let you all know I have rung for my sticky blood results and it seems like there may be a problem. They did various tests for recurrent miscarriage but the one for clotting has shown up "abnormalities" so I have to go see the Dr.

I am not really sure how I feel about this but I suppose I am pleased I pushed to have the tests done. My appointment isn't until next week so I have the weekend to mental about it and spend all my time on Google.

Sorry for the me me me post.

CruCru Wed 06-Feb-13 18:31:07

Sweetie, you deserve a me me me post.

That sounds very positive. Keep away from google. Most of the people who post on medical websites are a bit mental; they won't help you. Plus it will irritate your doctor if you tell him or her what your diagnosis is according to Google.

That's a nice, fast turnaround for an appointment. Well done for pushing for the tests.

ControlGeek Wed 06-Feb-13 21:54:46

So quiet on here the past couple of days sad

sweetie that was very quick for your blood test results (though I bet it didn't feel like it for you). I'm really sorry one of them sounds like there may be a problem, but well done you for pushing for having them done before your IVF. If there's a blood test for something, there is 99% chance they have a way of dealing with it. Brooking for you x

Not much news here, got my pre-op a week on Friday so not much time between that and my op date. Got it all squared away with work but it's so busy at the moment. I spent the entire day today resource planning and realising that there are not enough work hours, even with weekends, for all the work to be done.

Oh, keep was it you asked what ovarian drilling was? It's where they use a cauterising tool to burn a number of 2-4mm deep holes in each ovary with the sole purpose of destroying a percentage of the surface. The positives are supposed to be improved ovulation and a reduction in hormone production. Potential side effects are multiple adhesions following the op, and early menopause. The reason I don't want this op is I don't seem to have any problem ovulating, I'm just not particularly regular. I have only had one anovulatory cycle in the last 12 months, which sounds pretty standard from what I've read. I also don't particularly want to go into early menopause as I have a feeling that might reduce my chances of conception hmm The op I'm having is to remove the adhesions caused by a previous op around my ovaries, so I'm not keen on having a procedure that's likely to cause more. The vitamin D3 seems to have stabilised my hormones, I ov'd yesterday (d'oh!) so that's three cycles in a row that I have had a 32/33 day cycle.

AF is due the day of the op, but the only SWI we did was ov-5 so I don't think there's really any viable hope. Please brook that AF will arrive in time to enjoy the full force of surgical removal grin

Hello Brookers

Just a quick message from me today. I probably won't be on mn for a while. My grandad passed away on Sunday, it was very peaceful thank god. The build up to it though was terrible, he was very distressed and in a lot of pain until he went on a continuous morphine infusion two days before. I'm going to Prague this weekend & it's DH's 30th next weekend. I really don't want to go on holiday or have a party but my mum is insisting that we go. My grandad in his more lucid moments also insisted we go away as planned even if he was still in hospital sad

I wanted to update you all in case you started wondering where I had disappeared to.

Massive congratulations Cru

Lots of love to all you lovely brooking ladies envythanks

NoCupcakesOrCocktails Wed 06-Feb-13 22:25:26

Oops Face I nearly forgot you! I'm so relieved to hear that little cartoony is ok. Make sure you still take it easy

Withalittlesparkle Wed 06-Feb-13 22:48:41

Oh cup you poor thing!! Try to enjoy your trip to Prague though., by the sounds of it it's what your grandad would've wanted!!

NewYearNewBoo Wed 06-Feb-13 23:07:10

Cup I am so sorry to hear your news thanks

keepitgoing Thu 07-Feb-13 01:40:20

Oh cup I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm thinking of you and your family.

sweetie go you, and your sixth sense!! Brooking it's something a little aspirin will fix, but so happy you did this Pre ivf. Do you think you've ever conceived?

Holy cow, geek, ovarian drilling sounds terrifying. T-11 now! V exciting. Now listen to me. Do not do too much at work. You are going off sick for a big op (how long are you off for?) It is for dink boss to sort what you can't do, that's what he's paid for.

Still having minor freak out about ivf. Need to have proper conversation with dh to calm me down.

keepitgoing Thu 07-Feb-13 05:17:01

Back from the clinic. Lining a little thin at 6.something, but trigger shot should help juice it up. Dh gives me the trigger at 7pm tonight, then iui at 11.30am on Saturday.

Cup I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family are taking care of yourselves x

Sweetie as everyone has said, I'm sure there will be a quick solution.

Keep how are you feeling about the next IUI? What are you freaking out over? It's such a roller coaster.

I have the most horriffic AF pains. It was MrMaybes birthday on Tuesday, and they started then, were bad all of yesterday and are now unbearable. Nothing is touching it. I'm sitting here with two hot water bottles strapped to me. Sexy grin

Withalittlesparkle Thu 07-Feb-13 06:42:44

keep loads of luck for this cycle now it's really picking up a gear!!

maybe sorry your cramps are so bad! Least you get it out the way for the weekend though!! Water bottles will look rubbish with your party dress!!

<waves to all other brookers>

keepitgoing Thu 07-Feb-13 07:44:15

OK, you asked for it, and maybe it'll help to write all these things down
-if it'd happen naturally if we just wait long enough
-if it doesn't work, this has always been there as a safety net
-if any of the unproven rumours about ivf being more risky for the baby are true - abnormalities, illness etc
-it should be something for dh and me, not a room full of people making money

Actually I think that's all. I dont mind the drugs, and don't have any ethical dilemmas I think.

Right, so to respond to myself
-so what. You've waited 20 months with no hint of anything. Yes, it might happen naturally eventually, but it might not. And also why should you wait just because you could.
-Er.... Not a reason not to do it
-unproven, and any rumoured risks still small
-tough. And I've already had three people look up my lady bits today, none of them dh, so that ship's already sailed anyway

Conflicted much? Me?

ControlGeek Thu 07-Feb-13 08:04:53

<rushes in to give cup and keep a huge hug>

cups I'm so sorry. It's never easy to lose someone you love. It'll be so hard going away like everything was normal, but do it for your grandad. He wanted you to go.

keep you are most definitely not alone. I (and probably quite a number of the other brookers) could have written that exact same post. I'm in a rush at the moment but will try and get a few minutes at lunch to write more. Just couldn't bear to read your post and run.

cru how are you feeling today? Is the sickness kicking in yet?

woah keep chill! is dh there?
cups sorry about ur grandad. try and enjoy yourself while ur away.
sweetie hope your appointment comes round quickly keep is probably right you just need a bit of asprin. I really wish they would do these tests more routinely, asprin could help so many people.
cru is it today u get ur levels checked? fingers crossed for u!
geek I don't like the sound of the drilling at all but surgical removal of af, I'm loving grin

keepitgoing Fri 08-Feb-13 04:04:06

cru what are your levels?

Long talk with dh last night. We have decided to go ahead with this iui, then ivf, then have a regroup. I'll be fine once I start.

Thanks for the hug, lovely geek. I'm surprised, as thought I could get through this OK without too much mentalling. God help us all when I'm on the ivf tww... Apologies in advance grin

Withalittlesparkle Fri 08-Feb-13 08:16:56

Keep Even if you have a complete and utter break down on IVF 2ww and shatter in to a million pieces we'll still be here with the super glue waiting to help brook you back together!! of course it wont get that far on account of you'll be IUI diffed by then!!!

Cru I hope you're doing ok, I'd love to know what your levels are doing! I'm keeping a nice warm spot ready for you in the antenatal thread!!!

Geek How are you feeling? we're getting closer by the day until your full service and MOT!!

CruCru Fri 08-Feb-13 08:19:09

Hey Keep, sounds like a good plan.

Thanks all, I had my levels checked again yesterday and they were fine. No nausea, just a bit tired. I have a scan a week on Wednesday to check that there is a foetus and a foetal heartbeat.

NewYearNewBoo Fri 08-Feb-13 08:38:17

Sparks you have said exactly what I was thinking (only you said it better) to Keep smile you mental away if you need to, we will be here. thanks

Cru lovely news on the levels smile

Geek ignore work, that's an order, do what you can but don't over do it, you have a womble to prepare for the next wave of brooking babies! Dink boss will just have to show his true useless colours without you there picking up the pieces.

Maybe hope AF is being kind.

Morning everyone else smile

keepitgoing Fri 08-Feb-13 08:57:34

Thanks boo and sparks

I'm amazed how soon the heart starts. How can a ball of cells have a heart already?! I heard a foetal heartbeat whilst in the waiting room the other day, and teared up. Must be amazing to hear! Good luck cru!

geek T-10!!!! Do. Not. Work. This. Weekend.

boo are you humungus yet? smile hope all is well and teenboo and toddlyboo are excited too.

NewYearNewBoo Fri 08-Feb-13 09:44:14

It won't be long now Keep and you will hear your own brooking baby HB. Chin up, keep talking to us, we will get you to that BFP thanks

Humungus is certainly one word for me at the moment, a few others would be whale like, size of a house or just a simple OMG how is that still moving?? grin I am currently on waddle watch, don't want that starting too soon! Toddly boo is very excited, keeps asking when the baby is coming out, teen boo is not really bothered <typical teen>

We have a little more snow trying to fall today, anyone else?

keepitgoing Fri 08-Feb-13 10:18:07

Solars Fri 08-Feb-13 10:24:27

Hello sorry for awolicity....very busy at the moment as well as dealing with excruciating toothache! Have an appointment with the dentist later on this afternoon, which I am absolutely dreading sad

Cups I'm so sorry for your loss, thinking of you and your family x

No snow here but is bloody freezing! We had a few flakes a couple of days ago though.

Big waves to you all x

ControlGeek Fri 08-Feb-13 13:37:13

Right, third time lucky, let's see how far I get this time!

cups hope you're coping ok and that DH is bringing you lots of drinks and biscuits.

keep I'm so pleased your lining thickness means you can go ahead with IUI. No IVF for you, m'lady, for you'll be diffed before you know it! Good luck for tomorrow, or is it tonight, given the time difference? <so confused by things like that> I'm glad you and MrK have been able to have a chat about everything, I hope it's helped a little at least. We will all be here for you if it does come to IVF, so mental away. It's allowed smile

maybe sorry you're having such a rough time with AF. I definitely think that with a bit of thought and effort, hot water bottles can be turned into an essential fashion accessory grin

sparks <waves> keep popping by please - can't believe you are due on midsummer's day! That's only like 4 months away!

cru that's amazing news about your levels, you are now a deffo diffed brooker grin Can I be really cheeky and ask a few questions? DOn't feel obliged to answer or anything. Did it feel different this time round, knowing you'd already had an IVF success so you knew it could happen? Was it an easier process with being a frostie - did you have fewer drugs or did you still have to do some to make sure your lining was timed right, or did you just time it with your natural cycle? Sorry, I'm so nosey blush

boo waddle-watch eh? Does it get presented by Bill Oddie??

solars ouch to the toothache sad hope the dentist can sort it out for you with the minimum of intervention. I hate dentists <shudder>

I'm so jealous of all you with your snow. The best we've had here for the last couple of weeks has been perishing cold rain, though we did get the high winds that were supposed to bring the blizzards.

I'm afraid that I will definitely be working this weekend, there is no way round it. There's a massive dataload that needs to take place out of hours and it's about 14 hours' work. There's two of us, so we may manage to get it all done on the Saturday.

My consultant has said I will be off for one to two weeks, but I know I am a slow healer so I am expecting it to be two. I've told work to plan for two, and that's what I've put in the resource planner. I just really hope I don't end up needing the full open surgery, as that will be 6-8 weeks out of action. I had that before in 1999 so I know how painful that is. The only plus side to that is it would get me out of all the other work that is assigned to me from day 1 of my return to the office grin

I'm now starting to get very excited, though a little nervous. I can't believe that a week from now I will be sitting in my pre-op assessment meeting. So much to do between now and then! My mum's coming down the day after the op to help out, so I need to get the house shipshape before then. I'm still suffering through Jillian Michaels' nightly 20-minute torture in the hope that it will give me stronger abs which should hopefully make recovery easier.

I had one of my seriously morbid moments last week, so have got everything sorted out in case I croak on the operating table. Have bought an extra life insurance policy, and booked myself in for a full wax the day of my pre-op, and will be bleaching my roots that same weekend. Just need to draw up a list of where everything is in terms of Will, documents, filing etc and email it to MrG.

MrG now has toothache so I've told him on pain of me ripping all his teeth out with pliers while he is asleep that he has to make a dentist appointment before 5pm today as I can't be doing with fretting about him not being well while I'm not well myself.

Hooray! I managed all that without a single interruption or phone call grin Right, back to work for me or I'll be in on Sunday after all.

ControlGeek Fri 08-Feb-13 13:38:45

OMG that was a freaking epic post - sorry!!!

NewYearNewBoo Fri 08-Feb-13 15:31:05

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHH right, got that out of my system!! Mr boo has decided to give up smoking and now apparently it is my fault that the sky account is in my name with my passwords and his password doesn't work hmm it has been in my name for 12 fookin years!!!!!!! Also it is a conspiracy that they have changed the direct debit date but not the account details (he pays the sky bill) and they have done it just to annoy him angry give me strength!!!!!!

CruCru Sat 09-Feb-13 13:41:48

Hi Geek

It is sensible to sort out your Will; when you have children, it will be very important. At some point you may want to think about who would have your children if you both die.

Your questions about IVF: I think your ovarian drilling sounds much harder. Yes, IVF has been easier the second time - partly because I knew I had lots of frozen blastocysts from the first time so it took some of the pressure off. Also, this time I didn't have to do the ovarian stimulation injections so didn't have to go in to the clinic every day for a blood test / blood test + scan. And for some reason, the clinic seemed less like a factory this time - I remember the waiting room being full of depressed looking women which it wasn't this time.

Having said that, I have to have the progesterone injections (in backside) every day as I'm not producing any (as my ovaries were shut down) which I don't love. Also, I had to be taken off some of the drugs this time as my liver was suffering - possibly because I'm older (I'm now 34). I have found the massive cocktail of oestrogen and progesterone much more tired making - but I've also now got a toddler and a new job. I've found it harder to square with work this time, partly because as I'm new I didn't much want to tell people. Also, people seem less sympathetic when you already have one child.

DH would like us to remain open to having three children but I think that (if this works out), I'd be happy to stick at two.

CruCru Sat 09-Feb-13 13:44:46

Sorry Geek, forgot to say, yes I'm still having lots of drugs.

Solars Sat 09-Feb-13 16:38:19

Hello, hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!! Got some time to catch up with you all today.

Cru how long are you on the drugs for? Do you get to have an early scan too?

Cups hope you're doing ok.

Hope you're not still suffering from AF Maybe and hope MrM's surprise party goes well, how exciting! When I was a student we lived in an old draughty house and one of my friends used to walk around with her hot water bottle stuck down the front of her track suit bottoms tied with her bathrobe belt confused very fetching!

Sweetie hope as everyone says that the issue with your bloods is easily rectified. How are you feeling about it all? Hope you and DH made up too, I was not very nice with MrS this morning but he did tell me we had to reschedule our initial consultation as he forgot about a course he is meant to be on, grrrrrr, I'm sick of all this waiting around!

Keep how did it go today? Don't you worry about mentalling, we'll all be here to get you through it.

Geek the ovarian drilling sounds very scary, why on earth have they said they are doing this if as you say you are ovulating? Hope MrG's toothache is better, I feel his pain.

My toothache was excruciating especially since I had to wait a whole week to get to be seen by a dentist. The pain was so bad on Wednesday night and my jaw was swelling up too so DH prescribed me antibiotics as he suspected it to be an infection. Fridays dentists appointment wasn't too bad after all, dentist agreed with DH's course of action and just gave me a clean up although the dental technician was pressing the suction thing right where my infection was so very painful. Thankfully the pain has more or less subsided now.

Also I think AF is on its way today, lots of cramps and feeling emotional which also means that the ivf has increased my lp to 16 days sad

Waves to all not name checked, hope everyone is doing ok x

ControlGeek Sat 09-Feb-13 17:15:02

Yay!! work is finished for the weekend, no need for me to go back in tomorrow smile

cru ouch to the idea of progesterone injections in the bum! I thought they were normally taken as suppositories blush Did they have to shut down your ovaries in order to do the FET or is that a separate issue? And less of the cracks about getting older now you're 34, madam some of us are a bit older than that! Isn't it easy for our fellas to have these quaint notions though - I'm sure the human race would have died out by now if it was men who had to go through what we do!

solars I'm glad you were able to sort your toothache out in the end, but that's appalling that they couldn't see you for a week. Good for DH though. MrG obviously didn't take my threat seriously, as he still doesn't have an appointment. He's in a lot of pain and it's interfering with his eating now so he is calling up on Monday morning to get an appointment sorted. What was your LP before IVF? Surely the longer the better no?

I have no idea why they have suggested ovarian drilling, the reason the consultant gave was to try and bring my AMH down (it was 49.1 which was pretty high for someone of my advancing years) but to me, artificially destroying follicles, eggs and parts of my ovary isn't going to help me get pregnant. I don't really care about bringing a hormone level down that doesn't need to come down. From a very cynical and mercenary point of view, I did wonder if he threw that in there to try and get as much money out of the NHS as possible.

The cats are playing merry hell this afternoon so I'd best go and rescue what is left of the landing carpet. My fault for teasing them with a laser pointer when I got in I suppose grin

Solars Sat 09-Feb-13 18:07:59

Geek I too would definitely be against the ovarian drilling for all the reasons you mention. Amh levels can change too. Great you don't have to go into work tomorrow.

Lp was 14 days before, it just makes the 2ww even longer sad

CruCru Sat 09-Feb-13 18:38:13

Hi Geek,

Yes they did shut my ovaries down with a nasal spray but that caused my liver some problems. Sorry, wasn't meant to be a dig about the age - it was more that this time I am finding it harder. Glad to hear you aren't doing any more work this weekend.

Hey Solars, Im on the drugs for another 6/7 weeks. You know I had some period like cramps this month. May not mean you have to give up hope.

ControlGeek Sat 09-Feb-13 19:14:40

oh cru I wasn't having a go, I'm sorry sad

Does anybody else have rl euphemisms for DTD? I am currently fuming that MrG has cried off my promised post-work 'afternoon delight' because of his toothache which I first told him to make an appointment about last wednesday grrr

CruCru Sat 09-Feb-13 19:40:03

Hey Geek, no need to be sorry. I used to ask DH if he was feeling shaggy. I don't think he found it very subtle though.

keepitgoing Sun 10-Feb-13 04:02:55

Hi all! I am iui-d up. The scan showed I had just ovulated, so Dr said that was 'perfect' timing, I of course am worried its too late. But lining is a bit thin, 6.5mm, so I am on....... HRT!!! Which is basically just oestrogen, but seems weird. I have five days till potential implantation to plump it up.

solars my lp is 16 days too. It's annoying, huh! maybe has a long one too. Hope yours goes back to normal, or actually that its eight months. Sorry you had to reschedule the appt, how far back are you moving it?

Two birth announcements on fb this morning. Argh.

geek glad you're not at work today. T-8!! We sometimes say 'hanky panky' for dtd.

maybe tell all about the party.

Off to ivf pre-consult, this time with dh. I spend my life in clinics!!!!

BartletForTeamGB Sun 10-Feb-13 07:22:36

We'll have three graduates from the antenatal thread in the next few weeks so there will be plenty of space for you all. (I'm being induced on Friday with the Giant Baby, so bets on just how big he or she is are welcome!) I do hope that there are lots of BFP announcements here very, very soon.

Waves to Soph

AF is residing chez solars at the moment, lots of tears this morning and a long talk with DH which helped so now ready to get on with the next cycle sad Off to watch The Life of Pi a little later, very much looking forward to it although it's been a while since I've the read the book. How's everybody else's weekend been?

Soph80 Sun 10-Feb-13 14:59:11

keepingitgoing - any pregnancy news?!!!! Can't imagine me ever getting preggers now so need to hang onto other peoples good news to keep me semi-optimistic lol.

Solars - waves back. Sorry about your AF, sending big hugs. Anyway, today is the first day of your next chance to get your BFP xxxx

keepitgoing Sun 10-Feb-13 15:14:23

We had cartoon get preggers at the start of Jan, and cru just recently through fet, but its been slow for ages... Are you still on clomid? How are things with you?

solars argh!! So sorry. God, this is so damned hard. I can't imagine it ever happening either... Life of pi is good, dh made us watch it in 3d, which normally I hate, but did enjoy it. Glad you have a lovely dh...

Ivf appt was ok. They made dh do a load of blood tests, which he said was just for money. We are all ready, just phone on cd1. Of course, we are brooking she won't arrive, but if she has to then she must NOT arrive early, else I'll still be in Laos and cycle will be kaput. Not before 25th, hear that you evil old hag!!!!

Soph80 Sun 10-Feb-13 15:31:26

Ah thats good for cartoon and cru. Yeh still on clomid. Kinda crashed down to earth with a thud when AF came though as I'd pinned so much on getting pregnant as soon as I started clomid! Think I thought it would be the answer to everything even though I was already ovulating just fine before. The doc has reduced my dosage to 50mg. Too late for this month as on CD15 so heres to hoping for twins this month!!!!

I LOVE Laos, where abouts are you going? x

Solars Sun 10-Feb-13 15:33:35

Thanks Soph & Keep we will all get there <bangs gavel>

I feel the same too about 3d Keep but everyone keeps saying its quite visually stunning.... Were DH's bloods for hep b,c etc? Also are you doing the short protocol? Is that why you need to be back for cd1? When does the drug taking start? Brooking of course you don't need the ivf x

Soph80 Sun 10-Feb-13 15:36:49

Keepingitgoing - can I ask, are you paying for IVF then? x

keepitgoing Mon 11-Feb-13 02:34:47

soph we have insurance which is covering all iuis, diagnostics etc. But they have a limit of £2800 per cycle, so I think we'll end up paying about £2000 for the ivf. We're back to the uk in the summer, but NHS will make us wait till three years for if, we are at 20 months.

Yes, solars, we decided on short protocol as didn't get any v good reasons for long. So start injecting FSH on cd2 or 3. The blood tests for dh - HIV, hep b/c, full blood count, abo grouping. As he's a Dr he's had all these, though not all in the last year. They wouldn't accept his word on abo... And why do they want FBC. Anyway, we just paid up!

keepitgoing Mon 11-Feb-13 02:41:24

soph I know what you mean, but I think you need to see AC as a long game. Clomid has not been shown to do much for women that ovulate, so though it may increase your chances it's not a magic answer. Also, I produced two follies on 50mg, I would hope you will too, else isn't there no point? Have you had your lining checked/? Is it OK?

I am totally not expecting iui to work, just thought it's worth a shot before ivf. There is only a 10-15% chance, which is much less than a 'normal' person in a normal cycle... Even ivf is 35%, so more likely to fail than succeed. For my sanity I'm telling myself 'we'll likely have succeeded after three'.

But we'll see how that goes in practice. Anyway, that's just me. Hang in there with us x

Solars Mon 11-Feb-13 16:35:55

Hello, really hope everyone is doing good out there, it really has been quiet on these boards lately.

Did everyone else wake up to snow again this morning? We had about 3/4 inches.

As its CD2 for me I had a whole load of bloods taken today for all the tests the new clinic want. They took 4 vials today!! The only one left now is amh but I'm trying to get my gp to give me a private blood form for that, so then at least I've got everything before my appointment.

Maybe hope you're ok, less than a month for your appointment now!

Keep hope you're doing ok, Life of Pi was really good by the way.

Geek are you still feeling excited about your op? Hope dink boss isn't piling more work on you.

Waves to Beedle, Cups, Soph, Sparkes, Boo, Face, Cru, Sweetie and anyone I may have forgotten

<shakes the poor forgotten Pom poms left behind the settee and leaves behind chocolate cornflakes>

SweetieTime Mon 11-Feb-13 18:46:36

<waves to brookers>

sorry i haven't been around just too busy in rl. still brooking big stylie. just popped on preggo brookers thread to mark my place ready for triple sneeze births. can not wait - so exciting.

Hopefully things will quieten down and I can resume normal brooking including posting & everything grin grin grin

bye for now lovelies, thinking of you all

keepitgoing Tue 12-Feb-13 03:41:35

Hi solars, glad you've got most of your bloods done. Hoping that therefore you can proceed straight off from your appointment. Do you have a date? Re amh, had you not had that done for your previous cycle? Could you try and get your GP to order it on the NHS, as I think it's fairly expensive, and every little helps!

cup hope your break was good, and thinking of you for the funeral x

sweetie!! You'll be starting soon!! Can't wait!!

geek hope work is not too manic, and that at least you won't have to work this weekend...

ControlGeek Tue 12-Feb-13 11:52:35

Just popping by briefly - trying to cram all my work in before the end of Thursday and dink boss keeps interrupting me.

keep the hgw has kicked in blush Unfortunately MrG can't enjoy it because his toothache is so bad. He has a dentist appointment this evening, then I think tomorrow night might be a bit erm busy grin

Does anyone else get the munchies post-o? I've been eating like a horse and am dead on my feet for the past few days.

Solars Tue 12-Feb-13 11:52:56

Hi Keep looks like it's just you and me trying to keep the thread alive. No the NHS didn't need my amh for my last cycle. I spoke to my gp surgery and they said I can get a blood from to get it done privately from them, they don't allow it on the NHS. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow. I'm not sure how soon we'll start after our initial consultation, from what i've read they may require some further monitoring and tests before starting so still could be way off before I start my next round. It is all quite frustrating and it's getting me a bit down but I'm trying to stay positive and looking at the bigger picture and the end goal, what's a few extra month or 2, or 3, or 4.......? [resists the urge to tear hair out]

Solars Tue 12-Feb-13 11:54:05

hi Geek sorry x-post...

ControlGeek Tue 12-Feb-13 13:08:12

<sneaks a lunch break when nobody's looking>

awww solars you'll get there my lovely, honestly you will. It's just so frustrating not knowing when it will happen. I swear, if we could have a crystal ball and know something along the lines of 'yes, it'll happen but it won't be for another x months' things would be so much easier to cope with.

I think we need a brooking list again. Was it keep or maybe had a good one going? I have completely lost track of who starts what treatment when. Who is the next IVF brooker? All I can remember is that keep is post-IUI and sweetie is starting soon confused

cru how are you feeling these days my lovely? Is it starting to feel real yet?

cartoon are you a proper grad now???

sparks how is your new job going?

cup thinking of you, hope Prague went as well as it could under the circumstances.

sorry not to namecheck more, for some reason I feel dead on my feet today and my brain just won't function. <waves to all and leaves selection of starbucks and flapjacks>

I'm still here! grin Im half and half. I've got a scan 2mora afternoon so ill be sure to let u all know how I get on.
I too find it hard to keep track of who's doing what. plus I have no knowledge on IVF iui etc etc so most of it goes over my head. but I'm always checking in and thinking of u all even if I'm not posting. grin

Hello all, sorry for the absence! Was a manic weekend. The party went off with a bang and MrMaybe was very, very surprised!!

Good luck tomorrow Face

How are you feeling about the op Geek?

Keep it's great that things move so quickly out there! How are you doing after your mini-meltdown?

Solars my clinic are apparently doing an AMH as standard when MrM sees the urologist in a few weeks. I can't believe the variations in what's available on the NHS.

Also, if anyone is interested, the HFEA have released their latest stats for IVF. Makes for an interesting read.

keepitgoing Tue 12-Feb-13 15:59:56

Yes, I feel us brookers flagging we've been here forever

maybe so pleased the party went well. I love surprises!!

face good luck tomorrow. How many weeks are you now? 9? Are you relaxing at all yet?

solars sorry its taking so long, but good they are thorough. Seems like at my place as long as you pay you can start asap... I suppose yore right about an extra couple of months. But the waiting. God, the waiting.

geek!!!! The HGW is working, eh, eh... Have fun tomorrow...

Thanks maybe I seem to have calmed down after a chat with dh. We will do one ivf cycle then have a reevaluate. I think it'll be ok once we get going and there's no turning back.

face lucky you not to know about iui/ivf... ;) tune in for boring updates... Did I tell you ladies dh has had sheikh porn one time at the masterbatorium, and once Teenage Anal Princesses... Second time I sent him in with a few piccies and a dirty email blush This all sure does have its moments!

A list is good:
keep, on tww of iui mark 3 (no 1 pulled due to lining). On HRT... Will start short protocol ivf if af shows on or after 24/02 - if she arrives early I don't know what the plan is...

ScarlettInSpace Tue 12-Feb-13 16:18:46

Hiya peeps,

just checkin in...

Well I'm on my last 2WW before we start next round of IVF a week on Monday, I've persevered with temping this month and it backed up what I thought, FF has put ov at day 12 [which was Friday] as I expected [smugsmiley] so I am 4dpo today and there is no chance we mistimed any action iykwim as we went away for the weekend so there was a lot of nookie from Thursday onwards grin.

<leaves hot chocolate & biscuits on the side, to go with this second batch of snow that doesn't seem to be shifting>

ScarlettInSpace Tue 12-Feb-13 16:20:45

Oh dear.

Why have I found THIS website...

ControlGeek Tue 12-Feb-13 17:55:20

scarlett that is so not a good website - I've had to ban myself from going there, I was a regular from 2DPO!!!

maybe that report makes very interesting reading indeed - thanks for mentioning it.

Right, so the list so far:

Keep on tww of iui mark 3 (no 1 pulled due to lining). On HRT... Will start short protocol ivf if af shows on or after 24/02 - if she arrives early I don't know what the plan is...
scarlett last 2WW before we start next round of IVF a week on Monday (25/02/13)
maybe AMH test and MrM urology appointment coming up
geek D&C and adhesiolysis and endometrioma removal on Monday 18/02/13, IVF to follow as soon as the consultant says I am fit enough.

wonderful a list!
teenage anal princesses,*keep*? hmm well what ever floats ur boat I guess.
by lmp I'm 9wks today (good guess u really are good at remembering stuff) but from the measurements taken at last scan I'm 8+5 today. not really sure which to go with guess ill see what I measure tomorrow!
did everyone have pancakes?

NewYearNewBoo Tue 12-Feb-13 22:21:44

Good luck tomorrow Tricks what time is your appointment?

I made pancakes for the boys but after this mornings revelations I didn't partake sad they had chocolate on theirs.

Hiya everyone else, hope you are all well smile

boo its not till 2.45pm going to be a long morning!
I had lots of pancakes some just with lemon juice and sugar then banana ones with toffee sauce and squirty cream.

keepitgoing Wed 13-Feb-13 03:00:12

face he turned them off quick smart apparently but did wonder how the staff judge which delightful porn film you'd want... smile

Scarlett, my ivf buddy, I am brooking that at least one of us will get our ironic bfp this month. Symptom spotting? I am so tired of it all I can't be doing with that, plus those women are all mad. Bet most of them had similar symptoms each month. Glad you had a good dirty weekend!

Withalittlesparkle Wed 13-Feb-13 08:08:42

Morning Brookers

Have got in to work early enough to send you guys a bumper post, and be able to name check and all sorts!! granted only name check the first page!!!

Solars Sorry AF got you!! When does your next AC cycle start? Sorry have lost track a little. How did you find Life of Pi? I thought it was such a beautiful film, but they added parts that I didnt like and left out stuff that I thought was really important!!

Soph Dont lose faith, my sisters friend had 5 cycles of clomid, finally conceiving on the 5th!!!

Geek Yup to post-O munchies!! but then to be fair I got munchies around when O was due because all that bonking is just down right exhausting!!! New job is ok, not the best career move in the world, but obviously given the situation I had to move posts sharpish to ensure I got my continous benefits!!! Its ok though, like any job it has its ups and downs, and with a decent enough maternity package to look forward to I wont complain!!!

Scarlett I have my fingers crossed for a nice ironic BFP!!

Keep You are banned from the forum until you have consummed your body weight in pancakes!! I have three then got bored of making them, mrsparks has been amazing doing all the cooking and what not BUT he insists someone else makes pancakes, same story every year!! He ended up with 4! Told him if he wanted any more he'd have to make more mixture, so he just sulked instead!!! shudder at the thought of 'those' sorts of DVDs, but nice to see you have employed other tactics lol

Face I wouldnt worry too much about dates just yet, baby has a lot of growing to do, and the NHS wont think too much about dates until your 12 week scan! my dates from LMP were 22/06 I had a privates scan before my 12 weeks, which put my due date back by 5 days (27/06) then my 12 week NHS scan bought me forward by 6 (21/06)

<leaves left over pancakes all brookers and sugar free treats for Boo>

Lent day 1 = so far so good, but then it is only just gone 8!!!

Solars Wed 13-Feb-13 08:35:24

I read this yesterday and just had to share with you as I couldn't believe this woman had such a bad diet and ok 1 or more of her children were born without enamel but she had 8 children!! Granted she's passed away now but she still had 8 children!!

Will be back later to post properly, waves to Sparkes, Boo & Face

keepitgoing Wed 13-Feb-13 10:39:51

Urgh, solars I hate those things. It's so unfair, also on the kids. '1 or more' had no enamel, wtf didn't anyone do anything.

Oh Solars that's horriffic!! I also love how they are blaming it on Coca Cola themselves, not the fact that she was the one drinking it!

Sparks what have you given up for lent?

Geek good work on the list. We need some new blood don't we.

Scarlett that website is hilarious.

It's funny, now I know I can't possibly be preggers, I can look at post-ov symptoms in a new light. without fail, my boobs are huge, they hurt like buggery, I feel sick and my gums bleed. God knows what I'm going to be like when I'm pumped full of progesterone following ICSI!

GreenOlives Wed 13-Feb-13 12:19:45

Hello ladies! <shamelessly place marking!> grin

Withalittlesparkle Wed 13-Feb-13 13:12:21

Maybe you'll be marvelous! I've given up chocolate (as per usual) and takeaways, and canteen food! So far so good, although the toast I bought from home this morning instead of my pain au chocolate was more like cold stale bread than anything else!! Its not a diet (mrsparks made me promise) it's just a way of eating healthier, tis all good for twinks after all, he doesnt need all the crap I have been eating!!!

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 13:27:23

Another quickie in between meetings, work and handovers - thank goodness I'm about to have two weeks off!

keep how on earth did I miss your comment about the video footage!? I think I must have auto-bleached it out of my mind the second I read it. <shudder> Apparently the UK fodder isn't much more appealing. MrG ended up taking his mobile in with him with some home footage blush

maybe have you had your CF test results back yet? I'm also doing the 'can't be pg so what symptoms have I got' game. So far, nausea, eating like a horse, v sore norks, copious CM and mid-2ww womble cramps. Oh how we delude ourselves.

cartoon I had pancakes last night, while MrG sat and watched me in disgust. He had to have a tooth out yesterday evening, just before teatime, so wasn't up to eating anything at all. I just have spread on mine, with a couple of lemon and sugar ones for 'pudding'.

Well, MrG and I (at MrG's suggestion, amazingly) are giving up alcohol for Lent. Bear in mind we are still a few hours away from our first evening of Lent, and Valentine's Day is tomorrow (complete with lovely steak meal) the chances of us seeing it through for all 40 days is pretty slim.

Right, off to another meeting. How is everyone else's day going?

BartletForTeamGB Wed 13-Feb-13 13:45:25

geek, I don't do Lent but my mother does and she says that Sundays don't count(!) and I've found proof (in the form of Wikipedia!):

However, different Christian denominations calculate the "forty days" of Lent differently. In most Western traditions the Sundays are not counted as part of Lent; thus the period from Ash Wednesday until Easter consists of 40 days when the Sundays are excluded. However in the Roman Catholic Church Lent is now taken to end on Holy Thursday rather than Easter Eve, and hence lasts 38 days excluding Sundays, or 44 days in total.

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 15:23:06

Popping back to see if Tricks has updated yet??

We do indeed Geek wink

Good news everyone. CF results have all come back negative, no mutations found. Hurrah!

Sparks I am giving up bad luck for lent. Oh, and having pancakes today to celebrate grin

just quickly 'blob' is perfect! can have a cuter nick name now! be back in a bit grin

BartletForTeamGB Wed 13-Feb-13 15:58:50

Great news, maybe. Roll on the next stage and that long-awaited BFP!

Excellent news from you too, cartoon.

All lovely news! smile

ScarlettInSpace Wed 13-Feb-13 16:26:54

<I don’t like pancakes, please don’t ban me from the thread>

keep I am shock at the porn in the masterbatorium! OH said he wasn’t prepared to touch the mags in our NHS cubicle. Think he just closed his eyes and thought of, ummmmm, me England oh alright probably cars lol We had a fab dirty weekend thanks, spent it in one of the rudest cities in Europe wink at least he has something recent to think of next time haha!

geek I speed read your post and saw auto bleach as anal bleach, had to go back and re-read blush guess who spent too much time drinking in a red light district this weekend

I guess in a roundabout kind of way I am giving up alcohol for Lent but not cos it’s Lent I’m afraid, I’m starting an intensive detox on Friday which lasts up until the day that IVF starts so I won't have a drink after tomoz until the end of March [hopefully not until Christmas fx], OOOOOOH just realised I’ve got a great excuse why I'm not drinking for the next few weeks!

maybe good news re CF results wink. I love symptom spotting, it’s a bit of a hobby grin, I had a few words to say to a poster on AIBU last week who was being very twattish about symptom spotting, although I think someone took it further and reported her which was a bit of an over-reaction - was v amused at MNHQ who deleted the thread by sprinkling it with babydust!

Incidentally I gagged a bit on Sunday [2DPO] when the waiter walked past our table with a plate of fish someone else ordered, had to hold my nose until the smell had passed… I think I rest my case… absolutely nothing to do with the drinking my way round a red light district for 2 days before as mentioned previously

Fab news re positive scans ladies xx

LoveLaughingLots Wed 13-Feb-13 17:02:25

Hello Girls

Can I join? Been really positive this cycle, visualising everything I want, I'm in my 2ww, looking forward to that BFP!!

I'm 28, DP is 28, TTC#1, had Merina IUD removed end of September. Started using OPKs this Cycle.

I can just FEEL that this time around it's the successful one! Sending positivity to everyone else on the February bus!

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 18:05:21

maybe that's brilliant news! The power of brooking knows no bounds smile Is that the last hurdle before IVF now then? Good luck!

bartlet MrG and I don't do lent as a religious thing, just as an exercise in self-discipline so breaking the resolution one day a week kind of feels like cheating. I'm not so sure how well I'll fare though - MrG has just cracked open a murphy's on the grounds of 'his blood sugar is low and he needs to get it up' hmm

well done cartoon, you are now a proper grad.

scarlett how on earth can you not like pancakes? They are the food of the gods! Oh well, all the more for us to share around grin I too saw that post, but couldn't face opening it on the basis of the title alone. I love MNHQ's sense of humour though and wish I'd seen the deletion message.

solars sorry, I couldn't bring myself to click that link. I find things like that almost painful - and the idea of a child without enamel - wtf?! No, I don't want to know.

laughing hello and welcome smile Now you're here your BFP is guaranteed though the majority of us have pretty much given up on the whole monthly bus thing, some of us are just aiming for a BFP this decade grumble grumble

Umm folks... anyone fancy a shopping spree??? Clicky Oh, and MrG has won a tenner on the lottery - just need to win my BFP to get the full set of three!

CruCru Wed 13-Feb-13 18:22:06

Welcome laughing!

You're all so impressive, the way you list everyone and what they are up to. No more to report here, I have a scan next week and that's about it.

GreenOlives Wed 13-Feb-13 18:25:58

Brilliant news face! grin grin grin

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 18:28:37

Aah Tricks that is brilliant! We will find a name for baby smile

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 18:32:10

Sorry pressed post too soon blush

Geek get used to being alcohol free, you will be doing a full 9 months of it soon. Are you feeling ready for next week?

Maybe that is a brilliant result, when do you go back to the clinic? What is next?

Welcome Laughing you will love it here.

Cooee everyone else.

SweetieTime Wed 13-Feb-13 18:55:00

Evening all, I am sorry for my recent absence. I have been keeping up with all your news and waiting for news of the triple whammy ladies too.

Geek brave move going alcohol free especially in run up to valentine

Maybe I am so pleased your test results have come back negative, at least that is a weight lifted. Onward to your ironic pre-ICSI BFP

Tricks great news on TiniTrix

Cru those scans are coming thick and fast now for all those with agreeable pee sticks

Sparks how are you these days?

Scarlett your dirty weekend away sounds lovely and who doesn't love a game of symptom spotting

keep I remember your mention of the porn entertainment for MrK JIAJ. MrS was advised to download something onto his phone, I am not sure if he did or not.

boo how are you? I saw your news, you poor love. It is another worry for you but Bartlett to the rescue with her links for you

I am thinking BabyBart will be arriving tomorrow just like a real life little cupid

<waves to Laughing>

We never had pancakes either although I had bought a Aunt Bessies mix blush I went for my blood results, if you recall I had been told I had to see the Dr due to clotting abnormalities identified. So I have waited a week and the Dr had no info ggrrrrrr so she is going to ring the place which did the analysis for more details before giving me a call. So I am waiting again and then depending what is wrong I will have to speak to my clinic. I haven't bothered letting them know until I know more as it may be nothing wishful thinking

Hope everyone else I have missed is ok too?

ScarlettInSpace Wed 13-Feb-13 19:15:08

geek have pm'd you wink

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 19:28:39

Hahahhaha oh scarlett that is brilliant thank you!!!

Soph80 Wed 13-Feb-13 19:44:03

Geek - my fertility doc said to just limit myself to 7 units per week (which doesn't go very far). Might mean you go slightly less mental than you would if you cut it out all together x

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 20:06:43

Thanks soph but I'd find it harder to have just a little than to have none at all - aside from which as an exercise in self denial having any feels like I've failed wink

Right, off to see what to spend my winnings on since I've no takers on the shopping spree grin

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 20:14:31

<comes running in> did someone mention shopping?? grin

Soph80 Wed 13-Feb-13 20:15:18

Yeh I know what you mean. Although when I don't drink anything all I get is "is someone pregnant????", which is a lovely reminder that "no, I'm not f***ing pregnant" lol.

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 20:15:23

Sorry sweetie I'm not sure how I managed to miss your post. I'm so sorry you're still waiting for those results. The waiting really is the worst part. It soemtimes feels like we spend our whole lives waiting - waiting to o, waiting for AF, waiting for appointments, results, scans - why can't things just happen! PS - thank you! I had no idea that that was bartlet as the names doc vanished when sparks left blush sorry bartlet

boo hugs for your news, have just seen on fb too. I know it's probably nothing like MrG's (no idea how it affects pg ladies), but if you want to chat you know where I am x

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 20:17:11

Haha soph you're assuming I have a social life!!! grin

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 20:19:45

Thanks Geek I think I will do now the news is setting in.

Now, go spend your winnings on something luxurious for after your surgery I'm thinking Barbara Cartland during recovery grin

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 20:21:45

dammit must stop x.posting!

boo I won something !!!

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 20:22:26

Sorry, x-post... again...

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 20:28:24

like this Geek grin

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 20:43:45

Oh dear gods aliv boo I don't know what's worse - the hat or the dog! And pink is so not my colour grin

I had a thought though - mn doesn't say what vouchers they are - maybe it's £250 worth of mcv biscuits... <glances at the three remaining boxes cowering in the bread bin and panics>

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 20:51:20

gringrin I will find something else for you then.

Mmm £250 of biscuits could be fun! Don't they usually give out John Lewis or amazon vouchers in these things though?

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 20:54:15

No idea, I've never taken part (and definitely not won vouchers) before! No idea what John Lewis is, but Amazon I could probably go to town on

IC pg tests
Bulk HGW supply for the next few years
Conceive plus
CBFM sticks
Wellman Conception vits

That's it, my £250 is spent!

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 20:59:50

Well that would be a waste of money, your re conditioned womble will be full of brooking baby any time soon smile

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 21:22:54

Ok boo I'll give you that - but I'm still getting several years' worth of HGW wink MrG has admitted his is frustrated grin

NewYearNewBoo Wed 13-Feb-13 21:49:31

<puts HGW on my shopping list wink> grin

So is the HGW a large tablet?? would MrB notice if I spiked his food regularly

Withalittlesparkle Wed 13-Feb-13 22:08:57

Totes heading to yours geek if its £250 worth of biscuits!!!

ControlGeek Wed 13-Feb-13 22:27:02

They're about the size of a large antibiotic, boo and he has to take two twice a day. I would imagine you might be able to pop the capsules open and add it to the gravy maybe? Apparently it also works on women, though as I pointed out to MrG when he offered me one, I'm not the one in need, given I'm almost permanently on heat blush

sparks you're on - can I bribe you with a packet to pop over and keep me company in my convalescence? grin

keepitgoing Thu 14-Feb-13 07:08:07

boo you were just telling us how you never DTD, and now you're on about hgw...?! geek I think my dh just takes one pill a day, no it sure of the dose. We started off with hgw tea, but this is much easier and less smelly.

How fab you won both the lottery and mn prize geek! Good things come in threes, so I think you'll have a bfp come Sunday... Good luck with pre-op tomorrow.

NewYearNewBoo Thu 14-Feb-13 07:20:28

Keep there are only 11 weeks of booby growing left, I will need a hobby when it is all over wink just checking my options .......

Hope you are all being spoilt for valentines <3 thanks

keepitgoing Thu 14-Feb-13 07:37:14

11 weeks!! Wowee!! Yep, you won't have much to do after that ;)

Dh bought me flowers and a slutty top. I'm making a tasty dinner later.

Withalittlesparkle Thu 14-Feb-13 07:43:41

geek if you need to see my pleasantly cheerful face during your time of need, even if its just to amuse the kitties for you I'm totally there!!

ControlGeek Thu 14-Feb-13 08:00:16

<shakes pompoms>

boo 11 weeks, that's impossible. I can't believe it has been so long! If MrB will take them, I can def recommend the HGW. MrG takes the dosage that was recommended on the bottle (1000mg HGW/day, 600mg of Maca because it's a combined tablet).

sparks It would be lovely to see twinkle (and you of course!!!), Christmas was just too stupidly busy. Would I need to buy in a supply of vom bags or is that bit over for you now?

ControlGeek Thu 14-Feb-13 08:02:59

Oops didn't mean to press post...

keep a nice slutty top you say wink

MrG has done a number on me. We agreed at the start of the year that we wouldn't do cards or presents for our anniversary or valentine's day as it was all just a commercial load of hype. I found out last night that he has gone and bought a card for me sad I now need to somehow get a card without him knowing today, bear in mind we work for the same company, take our breaks together... arrrrggghh

Right, now I do intend to press post as I have a train to catch smile

LoveLaughingLots Thu 14-Feb-13 08:48:35

Morning Girls,

geek yes, I agree any BFP regardless of when is what we're looking for! Personally, I am putting POAS off as long as possible i would love to do one now though

CruCru Boo sweetie <waves enthusiastically>

Day 2 of giving up sugar for Lent. Oakcakes are absolutely disgusting. Someone give me a pack of red Marylands for breakfast! grrrrr

LoveLaughingLots Thu 14-Feb-13 08:49:59

geek perhaps get a colleague to get the card?? Terrible I know, but when needs must!

ScarlettInSpace Thu 14-Feb-13 08:50:12

geek make him one grin

keepitgoing Thu 14-Feb-13 09:24:18

LLL I forgot to say hi!! blush Welcome to the best thread on MN/the whole internet!! I am brooking for your bfp, when will you poas/be due AF?

face!!!!!!!! Your Xmas wedding baby is doing great, I'm so happy!! Does it look like a baby yet or still a blob am clueless on babies, but sadly overly knowledgeable on TTC.

Scarlett symptom spot away, though note its futility a la geek and maybe... Brooking we won't be ivf buddies, but if we are we'll lose the plot help each other through.

soph I know what you mean. The LAST thing I want is people to think I'm pregnant. We are going to Laos with mil and bil next week, literally just before starting ivf, so I won't be drinking, and dh shouldn't have much. But they don't know anything and dh doesn't want to tell them...

PS geek I hate it when they do that, go back on a pact. Won't it be obvious you got him one just because he did...? Surprise strip tease instead?!

argh I've missed loads!
keep blob sort of has little blobs that will be arms and legs but mostly still looks just like a head with a blob body. it measured 2.21cm. its most strange that that's in my tummy!
they said we can relax now. only 1% chance of mc same as anyone else, but I think it will be a while before I can be completely relaxed about it.

Hello Solars thanks for the welcome!

Cartoon Sunday...omg I'm losing my positivity over here! I'm scared to POAS, because it may be negative and I've been so positive this month, feeling like I need a serious shake from someone!

hmmm ok. well I'd say poas! but I'm a bit of an obsessive pre-we haha. I usually would rather do it early and then I know so it stops me mentaling over symptoms. but step away from the stick if it won't make you feel any better.
