Yet ANOTHER 2ww...anyone care to join me?

2 years into ttc, and here I am starting yet ANOTHER 2ww. Moral support would be lovely - I gave up on boob support years ago when they started heading south...oh the joys if being in your 40s!

Hopefully dtd enough, though targetted sex is nowhere near as fun as the other sex where there isn't a goal to be aimed for (we're both feeling the strain). And now we wait. Given that I had rampant pregnancy symptoms last month and then my period started bang on time, it's quite like that I'll misplace my marbles sometime in the next teo weeks.

Hi can i join you? i am due af/bfp on 5th feb so 2ww starts today. Don't think its my month but it's only my first cycle so not expecting it anyway if i am honest.

2 years is such a long time, you really deserve this month to be the one! FX for you

CrackerJackShack Tue 22-Jan-13 11:41:27

Af's due on the 9th of Feb for me, so I'm not quite at the 2WW, but I'll join you anyway.

If I don't get up-duffed this month I have to put it off till the end of the year, so fingers really really really crossed.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands Tue 22-Jan-13 11:41:55

Hello Doctor can I join you? Without support my nipples like to look at the floor [bush] I have never - even in my youth - passed the pencil test either.

I've been ttc just over a year now (with 1 mc and 1 cp during that time) but it feels much longer as it took roughly 3 and a half years for my DP to agree to try for a second child.

I don't hold out much hope for this month as we barely DTD but I suppose it is technically possible if DP's sperm were long-lifers and fate decides to dish-out some sort of miracle this month..

Anyhow, if you'll have me, I'm in!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands Tue 22-Jan-13 11:44:05

shock I meant blush not [bush]...

....but I suppose it is true really, they do sort of look in that direction!

DoctorWhoFan Tue 22-Jan-13 11:54:23

I'm trying for my first...took a long time for DP to turn up. Prior to him, there wasn't a single person I would have wanted to have a child with. Really scared it's too late for my ancient old eggs, but I'm past the cut off for ivf now anyway, and we couldn't afford to go private, and to be honest, I don't want to put either of us through it. It's taken me 2 years to get him to change his mind on having a baby as it is...

DoctorWhoFan Tue 22-Jan-13 11:55:10

LOL! Bridget grin

CrackerJackShack Tue 22-Jan-13 11:58:56

Good luck DoctorWho! I know plenty of women much older than you who got pregnant. My own mother when she was 48. So there's hope. smile

DoctorWhoFan Tue 22-Jan-13 12:40:04's really hard to stay positive month after month, without getting a positive. And when, and indeed if, I do, then there's the whole raft of genetic stuff to worry about. Eeek! I'm off to continue painting the bathroom. Though I might have a cuppa first...

tearsofrobertsmith Tue 22-Jan-13 19:00:24

I'd like to join you please! I have a son already and we have been ttc for over a year but I have always had a totally duff cycle ( going more than 100 days between periods sometimes). I think I have sorted this out since October with agnus castus, last two cycles only 35 and 32 days apart! So this is the first month where I feel that we have a chance at predicting the right time. I am hoping that this is the start of our tww! I must have poas a hundred times over the last year- all bfns. Am expecting af around 6th Feb if my bod stays under control. Actually, scratch that- I am expecting BFP around 6th Feb, positive thinking and all that!
I wish good luck to you op and all others on this thread! Fingers crossed for us all!

DoctorWhoFan Tue 22-Jan-13 21:07:54

Blimey Cracker! Your mum got pregnant at 48? Holy moly!

I'm very lucky with my cycles tears, for years I was 32 days, a few years ago I went down to 28 and have stayed there. Every month, I do an opk on cd13 and I have my lovely smiley face. I don't know why I waste the stick to be honest cos I'm one of those women that can feel ovulation. I only POAS to confirm what I already know. We've been dtd every other day, sometimes consecutive days for the six days up to and including ovulation, and I'm still not sodding well pregnant!

Off to cry in a corner for a bit...

ImpatientOne Tue 22-Jan-13 21:13:33

Oh don't cry Doctor

I was kidding myself about not symptom spotting earlier so this thread caught my eye! I am on CD24 but my cycles are anything from 24 to 33 days so at the end of the 2/3ww.

I know I have raised my hopes too high this month as I had a HyCoSy on the 10th Jan and DTD as much as possible for a few days before I had to go away with work. I have definitely had more 'pains' this month but that's probably the blast that my tubes have had!

Looking forward to some serious POAS action ladies wink

tearsofrobertsmith Tue 22-Jan-13 21:15:48

Your menstrual cycle sounds ace doctor! Ha ha- only on mumsnet would that sound appropriate! Sounds like you are doing all the right things so really hope it happens for you soon.

tearsofrobertsmith Tue 22-Jan-13 21:23:42

Apologies for the double post there.....would like to wave too at ..loves, cracker, Bridget and impatient....including doctor and I that's six of us so far! Surely it'll happen for one of us at least?

IBelieveInPink Tue 22-Jan-13 21:24:22

Hi. Can I sneak in and join?
Been trying 6 months. Had 2 mc in that time. So we don't really have a problem getting pg, I just can't seem to stay pg sad
So. 2dpo. I already sure I have cramps and other pg symptoms I know I get. Even though it Waaay too early. I think I have finally lost it.

BFP/af due 2nd feb.

I'll join in. TTC #2' cycle 14 and CD24. Cycles been playing silly buggers recently (used to be a regular 29 dayer, now fluctuating between 26 and 34 ( not as extreme as some, tears, but a bit of a change for me. DTD lots this month, so really hoping we get lucky this time. Took 16 months to get DD, so am accustomed to a longish haul, but it doesn't get any easier. sad

I really don't hold much hope out this month but it's not over till it's over, so i will imagine symptoms and drive myself mad in the meantime wink

ImpatientOne Tue 22-Jan-13 21:30:07

Oh I didn't say been ttc #1 since July 2010 and I think we're on cycle 20 but kind of loosing count blush

We've got appointment with fertility consultant on 31st - to review our various test results - and I can't help but imagine getting a BFP before we have to go!

As much as I wish it were different for you Yorkshire it's nice to hear from someone who did get a DC after a long time trying thanks

tearsofrobertsmith Tue 22-Jan-13 21:33:52

Cool, 8 of us now! Hello ibelieve and Yorkshire! Best of luck to you two! Sorry for your losses ibelieve.... hopefully this is your time. And same to Bridget....have not been through that myself so hopefully you get a your sticky bfps..

IBelieveInPink Tue 22-Jan-13 21:47:29

impatient nothing like provoking sods law! Hopefully this will tempt your BFP to come along just in time smile

Impatient I got my BFP with DD the night before we were due at the docs for our referral appointment for fertility treatment! You never know...

We are just starting a round of tests now for secondary infertility (am almost 37, so no time to hang about now). I'm hoping this will have a similar effect! grin

DoctorWhoFan Wed 23-Jan-13 00:04:34

Crikey...look at us all smile. Really nice to know I won't be going batshit crazy all on my own. AF due on 5th February.

Haha tears I may have lovely regular cycles, but I'm still not up zee duff! All this and a toy boy 14 years younger than me. That's why I had to wait so long for him...he was growing up LOL! That sounds very wrong actually...he's 31, so it's not as bad as it sounds grin.

Just recently moved house, so once settled at new docs, I think I may bookmin for some tests. However, I ordered a fertility test off t'internet which is apparently very reliable and that came back as negative for fertility issues. So WTF? Much as I don't really want to put my fertility under the scrutiny of the nhs, it would be nice to be sure that my lh surges do actually lead to ovulation, or whether we're literally shagging ourselves to death for no reason...

DoctorWhoFan Wed 23-Jan-13 00:05:47

"bookmin"? Feckin' tablet! Book in was what I actually meant!

CrackerJackShack Wed 23-Jan-13 07:23:24

Yup she did Doctor. It took her 4 years to get pregnant with me, and she started when she was 20, another 3 to get pregnant with my brother and then low and behold 21 years later...BAM!

doctor my af bfp is due 5th feb too!! Fingers crossed we are lucky

DoctorWhoFan Sat 26-Jan-13 21:05:27

Anyone got anything to report? Last month I had symptoms all over the place starting from about 5dpo (although no bfp), which is where I am now.

I don't feel anything at all so far this month. Except I was as irritable as hell this afternoon with dp, but that may have had something to do with the fact that I was filing the toe rag's tax return online for him because he should never be allowed to do anything technical on a computer...but he left it to the last minute as usual, so lots of pressure and stress for long-suffering girlfriend.

If he ever suggests he'll go self employed again, I think I may throttle him to save myself the long-term stress!

So, nothing to report here. Anyone else?

AF arrived this morning. sad On to cycle 15 now...

quickdowntonson Sat 26-Jan-13 21:29:39

Hi, can I join you ladies? Glad I'm not the only one obsessing over every little twinge/headache/runny nose etc!
I'm 41 and TTC no.3. Had 9 cycles, nothing so far. It also took me 18 months to persuade DH!
Anyone feel mild AF cramps and twinges in the middle of the Tww and turn out to be preggers? My kids are 14 and 15 now so I can't remember! I'm having these mild AF cramps on and off, and the witch is due in another week GRRrrrrrrrrr ...

quickdowntonson Sat 26-Jan-13 21:32:18

So Sorry YorkshireTea - must have crossed posts. Its an absolute bitch isn't it? Have a big glass of wine and on to next month. xxx

SweepTheHalls Sat 26-Jan-13 22:07:18

Can I join for some support? Ovulation tests were positive so I know we DTD at the right time, but that seems to be making the wait even harder as I know that there was definitely an egg lurking there!

SweepTheHalls Sat 26-Jan-13 22:08:42

Oh due on on the 5th as well!

DoctorWhoFan Sun 27-Jan-13 07:53:34

Welcome to the crazy club.

Bad luck Yorkshire...onwards and upwards, or so they say anyway.

I got a positive on an opk also Sweep, and we also dtd plenty around that time. But I did see something recently that says a plus on an opk is no guarantee that you do actually ovulate. Well whoop-dee-doo, just what I needed. Now I'm wondering if I'm ovulating. Plus when I get my lh surge, it only ever lasts 24 hours. If I test 24 hours after the smiley face, it says there's no longer any surge. Anyone else get this?

SweepTheHalls Sun 27-Jan-13 08:11:11

I stop testing to save money next cycle!

ImpatientOne Sun 27-Jan-13 09:38:06

Well starting spotting yesterday so not going to get my cheesy movie fairytale ending this month grin

Doctor I do not get on with OPKs at all, had 1 slightly positive in about 6 months before I gave up! I also used the CBFM but only got peaks 1 month and the rest of the time just 2 weeks of highs which doesn't really help. I think I drink too much for there to be any concentration of hormones!! blush

This is one of the reasons I am considering splashing the £££ on the DuoFertility monitor. I talked to DH about it yesterday and because I was bawling he is happy to consider it, although after we see the consultant on Thursday.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

quickdowntonson Sun 27-Jan-13 10:26:03

Doctor- get a 21 day progesterone blood test done at your GP surgery, the level of progesterone at cd21 is supposed to be the 'gold standard' test of ovulation. Have the test 3 consecutive months to get a clear picture. You could also ask for other blood tests ( FSH, prolactin, thyroid function) which will help get a clearer picture LPG what your hormones are doing. It's also worth getting your dp to do a semen analysis too- you may just be assuming that any issue is Ruth you, when it might not be! You could also ask for a hystosalpenogram (HSG), to flush out any minor obstructions in your tubes.
As your cycles are so regular, theres probably no benefit in using opk's, as you know the best days to bd anyway. It may just increase stress. X

quickdowntonson Sun 27-Jan-13 10:38:46

Sorry , silly phone, didn't mean to say LPG or Ruth!!!!

SweepTheHalls Tue 29-Jan-13 20:40:05

It's a no go for me hmm good luck to you all x

Why does the 5th feel so far away!! Am going to resist testing until after then if possible. Had no symptoms, nothing. Ahh well better luck next time for me! How are you ladies doing? Anything to report? Has your AF arrived sweep?

Mrsblackcar Tue 29-Jan-13 21:31:43

Hi there AF/BFP due on 2/2/13 did try one this morning but neg so will now wait patiently for the right day maybe shock

Happilymarried155 Wed 30-Jan-13 07:12:17

Can I join? I'm another one with AF/bfp due on the 5th. Been ttc for two years now sad it's bloody hard!
Had all the tests and apart from a slightly low morphology the doctors say there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to concieve-which in a way makes it all the more annoying! We have an appointment to start iui in April but I've convinced myself that we will be pregnant by then! Heading for heartbreak I know but we can only hope!!!

Happilymarried155 Wed 30-Jan-13 07:13:21

I too am not going to cave in on the testing until at least the 7th smile

SweepTheHalls Wed 30-Jan-13 07:18:39

yes so its a no go this time. at least my best chance for next cycle is in half term so we might have a bit more energy!

RedRobin1 Wed 30-Jan-13 09:04:08

<decides to de-lurk and finally post>

gutted about your bfn impatient I remember you from our hycosy thread.

Can I join? On cycle 9 of ttc, had checks done and like you happily we haven't had anything worrying come up except DH's low morphology and a low level of antisperm antibodies. Af is due on 1st / 2nd Feb, but I start spotting before hand so will know by Friday hopefully.

TTC is just pants. I had a hycosy done this month. I had all the symptoms of implantation - painful period like cramps and tugging between 7-9dpo. I don't really symptoms spot as several 'imaginary' symptoms have taught me to not listen to my body. But this month I really thought we were going to get our BFP - cramps felt very different and stronger. Anyhow post 10dpo I have felt nothing, not even sore boobs which I get every month. So just waiting for AF to arrive.

littlestgirlguide Wed 30-Jan-13 11:55:02

Hello all, can I join you for some moral support?
I thought my cycles had sort of settled down - last few have been 27/28 days (and bot had one longer since bfote my yers of depo/implant/the pill), with obvious signs of ovulation exactly when you would expect them. This month, AF due yesterday and nothing, so now on cycle day 29 an counting...

ImpatientOne Wed 30-Jan-13 20:21:34

hi Robin and littlest

I definitely had more cramps this month Robin and started spotting 4 days before AF kicked in sad anyway seeing consultant tomorrow.

Fingers still crossed for those still in!

ncsmummy Thu 31-Jan-13 07:05:49

can I join please? AF due on 2/2/13 and resisting the urge to poas!!! The last few days I have been exhausted all day but cant sleep at night due to leg cramps, vivid dreams and the worlds most painful boobs! I cant even wear a bra at the mo as they are so painful! Also been sooo hungry which is most unlike me and tearful which is strange for the woman that rarely cries!!
I am 31 and ttc #3 although this is my first with my bf.
Fingers x or you all!!!

ncsmummy Thu 31-Jan-13 07:44:36

Well I had to do it to myself didnt i? Despite af not being due til sat night and the box saying to use the first pee of the day i just had to poas! Of courise it was a bfn! Now convinced that I must have some kind of strange illness to explain all my symptoms instead!! I dont remember bein this crazy with my eldest 2

DoctorWhoFan Thu 31-Jan-13 12:41:04

Hi ladies. Pretty sure I'm out this month. No symptoms at all. Nothing. Nada. Not even my usual sore Starting to think it's too late and that it will never happen for me. Need to sign on at anew doctors and then arrange for some tests, but my anxiety is so bad at the moment that I don't leave the house on my own at all, and DP can't keep taking time off work to do those sort of things with me.

I'm feeling pathetic and pretty depressed tbh.

ImpatientOne Thu 31-Jan-13 15:18:17

Sorry to hear that Doctor and ncs

I've been at the hospital today and seen the consultant who basically said we have 'unexplained infertility'. This is what I was expecting tbh and although it's good news that our tests didn't show anything it also means that there is no easy action plan!

I hope you can get some help with your anxiety Doctor sad it sounds like it is limiting your life a lot.

RedRobin1 Fri 01-Feb-13 11:44:09

I am out too.. started spotting this morning sad
Really thought this would be our month.

LeenHS Fri 01-Feb-13 13:45:57

I'm ttc 9 months... AF is 5 days late. Got a negative on tues evening with cb digital. Going to buy one with lines and thinking about retesting tomorrow but dont know if I should wait longer? So nervous because I know I'll be very sad if negative. Its strange for period to be late but has happened once before. Symptoms feel like pms but cramps have subsided a bit in last few days. Would love your thoughts?

red so sorry about spotting.... Hope you're ok. It's so rubbish. Thinking about you. Annoyingly I can't access our other thread on my phone for some reason. But I'll try and get on my laptop at home.

Good luck allow you who are still in. I really hope this is your month.

ImpatientOne Fri 01-Feb-13 13:57:06

Robin sad

Hi Leen how frustrating to be late and BFN - it was a few days ago and the evening though. CB digital is not an 'early' test is it so fingers crossed your next one will show those 2 lines grin I've got 2 CB digi's which will expire soon as they have been sitting waiting for 21 cycles now!

ncsmummy Sat 02-Feb-13 05:58:11

Well todays the day that af is due to arrive. My bf says I should wait until after the weekend to see if it arrives before I poas - I dont think he realises how hard it is to resist!!! lol

ImpatientOne Sat 02-Feb-13 07:54:50

Good luck! You've done well to get this far wink

ncsmummy Sun 03-Feb-13 03:40:14

Well I hunted down the tests so I could poas this morning as no sign of af and it was a bfn sad
Feeling really down now - I have been feeling so awful that I was sure I must be pg but apparently not! Doesnt help that I am not sleeping well. constan weird dreams and waking up ridiculously early. Every day this week I have got up between 3.15 and 4.30 - blah!!!

ImpatientOne Sun 03-Feb-13 09:32:58

hmm ncs it's so hard when your body shows all those signs & you get a bfn.

ImpatientOne Sun 03-Feb-13 10:12:29

oops that should've been sad - they never look right on my phone.

RedRobin1 Sun 03-Feb-13 13:37:06

My AF hasn't started yet. I had some brown spotting but it's stopped. I am on cd35 and 17/18dpo. Had a bfn yesterday so not sure what's going on.

impatient did your AF go AWOL after the hycosy?

ImpatientOne Sun 03-Feb-13 14:37:44

Hi Robin not AWOL but definitely changed! I had spotting and then really light AF (still spotting really but bright red) for a couple of days, then 2 normal AF days then really light days.

I did POAS after a couple of days of spotting as it was very on and off but obviously it was bfn.

I really quizzed the consultant about spotting when we saw him on Thursday but he was very unconcerned he did compliment my OCD speadsheet though

Will keep my fingers crossed grin

RedRobin1 Sun 03-Feb-13 15:22:13

Mines very light brown spotting for the last 3 days. TMI alert-it's very dry brown spotting not liquid or wet just pasty dry brown blood.

In a strange way I feel a little relieved after reading your AF changed too. I know I am not pregnant as POAS and got bfn as expected. Just waiting for it to show up!

ImpatientOne Sun 03-Feb-13 16:45:40

Just generally tmi but sounds exactly like mine was & I was getting very frustrated after the bfn just wanting to get it out of the way. I also had more niggling pains too - all things that get you excited because its a change but never mind into next cycle for us.

Is there any good news out there!?!

RedRobin1 Sun 03-Feb-13 18:51:54

It's here now and I'm glad it's finally started. Hope the next cycle is lucky for us. Fx

ncsmummy Mon 04-Feb-13 05:17:11

No af here yet or any of the usual signs shes on her way. Have had horrible lower back ache for the last few days - never had that before. I am going to try and wait until next weekend befoire I poas again hmm
I have got my fx that we get some good news on here soon!!
