Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 18:00:53

Hello - thought I'd join if you'll have me! I'm on the Just Shagging fred and I tried with the January BFP bus but there were so many people on it I struggled to keep up with what was going on. confused I'll be having some of that magic dust - 2 bags please! bin bags, hippo bags, skip loads, whatever's to hand

tillyann2013 Mon 14-Jan-13 18:05:50

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 18:07:27

Do you mind me asking why you think you are unlikely to get pregnant Soontobeburns?

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 18:15:19

Sorry if that's too personal Burns x

bluefreckles Mon 14-Jan-13 18:29:09

Can I join? I'm on cycle 2 and currently on AF. According to my phone app my next AF is due 16th Feb (although no idea if this is accurate as had a 29 day cycle in November followed by a 42 day cycle just gone!)
Only stopped my pill (Yasmin) at beginning of October so early days.
Don't use anything as yet to check for ovulation.
When is everyone else's AF/BFP (hopefully the latter) due? smile

bluefreckles Mon 14-Jan-13 18:30:40

Oh and I currently don't have any children. I am 29 and my DP is 35.

roofio87 Mon 14-Jan-13 18:35:49

my next AF/BFP is due 29th Jan maybe, but as I've only just stopped pill (8weeks ago) can't be sure its that predictable!!

roofio87 Mon 14-Jan-13 18:38:01

....and me and my dp are both 25 and trying for first time!!

setayharas Mon 14-Jan-13 18:42:23

Oh blue sorry to hear that! At least now your not hanging Around waiting!

I'm 25 dp is 26 ttc 1st. Bfp due 29th

We went for it great guns this month and bd 2 days before and day before ov, now just waiting and hopeing

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 18:51:50

Roofio - I've got AF/BFP due on Friday 18th. I did a POAS today (as have a job interview next week, so it could affect it) and got a BFN. sad I just checked back through my phone to see when we properly started TTC and it was July last year, although I came off the pill at the end of August 2011, so I don't know how long to say we've been TTC. I guess that would make it nearly 18 months, but at the start I didn't know very much about fertile times of the month or anything, which is mad. I'm pretty well educated, but it just seemed to have passed me by. I don't have any sisters and my mum won't talk about stuff like that at all, so I guess I was always going to be a bit in the dark. confused So we're on cycle 7 of actively TTC and I've been sent for blood tests and am on the second set of those now as they found I didn't ovulate in the first ones. I'm 34 and DH is 33.

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 18:53:30

P.S. I think I am only 10 or 11 dpo, so I haven't lost all hope yet. smile

roofio87 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:03:15

bearface how have you found it trying for a while?! I'm very nervous about being able to get pregnant as I had chemotherapy 2 1/2 years ago so am just going to have to see if its had any impact on my chances. but I feel like its all I'm thinking about at the.moment!!

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:15:40

Wow ladies..... You are all very welcome. Thanks for joking me on the wait.

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:16:17

Oops meant joining me

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:21:16

Oh I'm really sorry to hear that Roofio thanks Are you recovered now?

Well, I guess it depends on your circumstances really and on how you perceive it. I'm 34 and I really wanted 3 kids but I feel like time is running out for me a little bit (sorry to anyone who is a bit older than me reading this, but I had planned gaps between DCs --not anymore--)

TBH I didn't find it too arduous at all until we started to up our game and really actively TTC. We knew it might take a while, but I don't think we were prepared for my blood results to come back and say I hadn't ovulated. I have regular periods so I just thought everything would be okay. Maybe it still will be? I don't know. I guess the hardest part for me has been everyone else around me getting pregnant and having their babies and I'm still at first base. No matter how many times people say 'Oh, it'll happen', 'Just Relax', etc. I still feel left out, upset and quite regularly jealous of other people. I have real up and down days. confused I think probably the hardest thing is dealing with the emotional aspect of it. We haven't told anyone that we are TTC as I couldn't cope with all the questions and discussions with other people. Sorry - #lifestory.

I would have thought that if you have had chemo then they might advise getting you checked out anyway if you wanted to. Have you talked to a doctor or a specialist about TTC at all?

setayharas Mon 14-Jan-13 19:21:46

Oh no problem sparkle how long of your wait have u got left?

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:21:59

Good typo Sparkle - we'll joke you anytime!

makinglemonade Mon 14-Jan-13 19:24:15

Hey I'll have some if its going spare!

TTC for first time. DH and I are both 33. We have been leaving it to chance for a while but this year we are determined to be serious about it. I've been off the pill for 4 years and have a feeling there is an underlying issue. Have tried not to think about it but I think this is the year we stop ignoring it.

My period started today so I'm sure our Xmas shagfest didn't work sad

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:24:49

Ha ha bearface

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:26:11

I just came off mine to stating again ready for feb

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:27:13

Welcome to my boat (inside the Baby Dust boat of course) MakingLemonade. Hand holding optional!

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:28:16

Ooo that's exciting Sparkle - have you got any DCs already?

roofio87 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:30:28

bearface yeah consultant suggested we try for 6 months and then maybe investigate if it hasn't happened. we're only 25 and my periods have returned to normal so we're hopeful but just got to wait and see!!
I'm all clear of the cancer now and they're hopeful I'll stay that way so we've had the all clear to try!! just depends if the chemotherapy has damaged my eggs, but hopefully not!
trying to just be relaxed and enjoy the whole experience but its hard!! wink

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:32:38

Bearface no not yet.....first day today

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:34:29

Making lemonade don't worry 2013 will be yours

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:35:59

Oh I'm so pleased that you are well again. smile One of my (male) friends had chemo and a testicle removed and he has two bouncing girls both conceived naturally, so there is definitely hope! I know it's hard to enjoy it IYSWIM but maybe as you're at the earlier less jaded like me stages have fun having sex and don't worry about it for a while. Treat it all as practice grin and if you get a Bfp then even better!

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:37:21

Roofio87 I can't imagine how you must be feeling but I did have a friend who also had cancer 6yrs ago and last year had a little boy so I am sure it will workout for you too

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:39:17

Are any of you trying the ovulation kit?

I'll join in as well if I can? smile

Just started TTC #2, DS was a total surprise so this is the first time I will be actively trying smile

I think it will be a long while for me tbh. I have a lot of the symptoms of PCOS but because I didn't want children before DS came along, and then was adament I didn't want anymore, I have never been to the GP about it. However, I have decided to wait 6 months to see if we have any luck before going about it because my periods have become far more regular after DS than they were before (used to only have 2 or 3 a year)

Based on my last few periods, I think I am around ovulation now, so will see what happens smile

makinglemonade Mon 14-Jan-13 19:44:16

Thanks sparkle and for starting this thread on a day I really needed to be among like minded ladies

bear we are in the very same boat it seems. I'm fairly clueless about fertile times etc but I'm starting to educate myself. I've no sisters and don't want to tell my friends we are TTC. I've told one friend but she got pregnant the first month of trying so she doesn't really understand.

This is our year ladies wink

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:45:55

Welcome f....it

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:47:36

Lemonade you know you can work it out on an ovulation calculator.....if you need help ask ok.

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:48:24

Well, I'm using ICs for ov kit and I think I had two LH surges this month so not sure a) if I oved at all, b) which one it might have been - the second surge? Had blood test so should be able to find out soon. I think if you are very regular then they help, but if you're not then they aren't very reliable.

Hello Fuckity just wanted to write your name

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:49:41

I also know what you mean I came of the pill in aug and actively started in sept me and 2 other friend and in dec both ground out they are pregnant.
I had been on the pill for 9 yrs after my first. Now ready for 2nd one

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:50:44

Blimey lemonade - we are a bit twin-like aren't we?! I have been educating frightening myself loads this past seven months. I do feel more informed about my body now though, even if my body and I are now no longer on speaking terms grin

Mermaid214 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:51:24

Can I join you all? Me and DH TTC since I came off the pill in July 2012 but no luck so far sad I'm 33 and he is 35. No other children. Been using the clearblue fertility monitor but for the last 3 months all I get is high readings with no peaks! It's driving me mad as i don't know if it means i'm not ovulating? Does anyone else have any experience of this please?

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:52:09

I downloaded a site call ovulation it so far seems to tell me the exact date my period is due? Well this month I'll be testing for ovulation

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:53:44

Mermaid214 welcome

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:55:03

Sorry mermaid - I don't really know, but hello to you and welcome.

Got to head off now folks as DH will be in in a bit and needs the flaptop. Bye.

setayharas Mon 14-Jan-13 19:55:27

I'm just using ic opks and taking note of my body(not successfully) but I am pretty sure I ovulated today (cd21 which is quite late)
Been having stomach cramps all month which gp says it do withy nerves from my back as I have a bad back. Gotta go have an ultrasound as iv had a cyst before so really scared that that will show up something that might effect our efforts.

This ttc malarkey is hard work and scary business isn't it

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 19:56:21

Bye bearface

Bear grin Type it while you can cos I'm trying to think of a suitably witty NC

Bearface Mon 14-Jan-13 19:56:57

Have been lured back! Sorry Sparkle - I live in the dark ages no iphone so I work with old skool stuff - calendar on my pay as you go or pen and paper!

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 20:08:57

Can't keep away huh? smile

Mermaid214 Mon 14-Jan-13 20:14:04

Thanks for the welcome Sparkle002 and Bearface smile this is the first time I have ever posted on a thread so hoping it bring me good luck!

Sparkle002 Mon 14-Jan-13 20:15:36

Night ladies.......baby dust to you all thanks

Elektra83 Mon 14-Jan-13 20:19:29

Can I join please?

Ahh Bearface your post to Roofio made me want to give you a cuddle! Have a biscuit

roofio87 Mon 14-Jan-13 20:42:19

thanks Sparkle and Bearface its always nice to hear stories about people who have managed to conceive after chemo!!
I'm not using any O test or anything, just taking it relaxed for now and seeing how it goes, just having lots of sex!! the BF seems happy with that approach!!

Mermaid214 Mon 14-Jan-13 20:55:40

I agree setayharas the whole TTC has been stressful. It's the not knowing I think drives me crazy. Hi Elektra83 smile

setayharas Mon 14-Jan-13 21:05:26

Wouldn't it b nice of a little light lit up or a little bell rang of you dtd worked so you knew straight away

Bearface Tue 15-Jan-13 16:00:45

Ah thanks Elektra. Nom, nom <munching on the biccie>

Setayharas - if you could just create that as a gadget I think you'd make mega bucks. You could take it on Dragon's Den. I'd buy one! Although not so good if you're in a meeting when you actually conceive! Haw haw! grin P.S. just worked out your name - I always thought it was a bit odd, but it's just clicked! wink

setayharas Tue 15-Jan-13 16:08:52

Haha you figured it's just my name? I'm so uninventive. Is this where u tell me u know me in real life lol?

I'll get designing the device straight away!

Bearface Tue 15-Jan-13 16:23:11

Ha ha! It's only taken me a few months! wink No - I don't know you in RL.

I'd like to place the first order for the all new pregnancy test! Plus I'm first in line for some baby dust this evening please Sparkle.

Sparkle002 Tue 15-Jan-13 19:24:26

Hello Bearface baby dust your way smile

Sparkle002 Tue 15-Jan-13 19:26:16

How is everyone doing tonight? Welcome all new members, thanks for joining the waiting train.

tillyann2013 Tue 15-Jan-13 19:36:50

I'm fed up, def need some pma. On the 2ww (again!) hmm
I was supposed to start iui this month but because day 1 was 27th dec, I missed the boat to get the baseline scan done. I wish the silly nurse could know what it feels like when she says 'just give us a call next month'. Hey ho, could murder a glass of wine wine or a bottle! but we are having a dryathlon this month.

How are you all doing?

soontobeburns Tue 15-Jan-13 19:50:01

Sorry bear just saw your reply now blush been ttc for 33 months and seen fertility specialist who said its due to my OHs low sperm count and it would be unlikely to conceive without ivf. Need to lose 5 stone before I can have it.

Soph80 Tue 15-Jan-13 20:24:25

We all really need to start some positive thinking! Me included!!!! :-)

Roofio, did you freeze any embryos? x

roofio87 Tue 15-Jan-13 20:57:04

soph80 no I didn't have time to have my implant removed and harvest the eggs etc before I needed my treatment to start!!
hopefully will be able to do it naturally!! smile

Soph80 Tue 15-Jan-13 21:20:04

Well I wish you every success! Have you actually started ttc or just talking about it? x

roofio87 Tue 15-Jan-13 22:00:09

started ttc but only really just this.month so very early days yet!!

HopefulFairy Tue 15-Jan-13 23:14:25

Hi all

Just joined MN as could do with some support from fellow TTCers. Have been TTC for a few months now. So desperate for a baby+feel like it is taking over my life! My best friend has been TTC for a while+got her BFP a couple of months ago. So pleased for her (esp as she has suffered 2 M/C) but finding myself getting more envious+less supportive as the weeks go by. Am I a terrible person?!

Experienced a chem preg last month which shook me up a little. Trying to see the silver lining+believe that it shows everything's working+we're able to conceive but can't help being paranoid that it must be a sign of an underlying prob. Am I the only one who struggles to be optimistic?

Sorry for life story! Feels good to share though
xXx

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 15:40:00

Ah, but you are called HopefulFairy - so you should be optimistic, no? smile Hopeful - I definitely struggle with staying positive (read my post on page 1), but I think it's quite natural as time goes by to feel that way. I guess you just have to carry on trying and be positive when you can. I think it's good to give in to the negativity demons every once on a while, have a bit of a meltdown, get it all out of your system and then pick yourself up again. Maybe I'm different to everyone else though. I find that if I don't do this then I would just keep bottling it all up and would end up feeling awful. But that's me personally.

Soontobe - I remember you from another thread. How is the weight loss going then? Have you had any success? Have you made any changes to get yourself going on the weight loss? Good luck to you. We'll be cheering you on!

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 16:05:49

Hey everyone - I wonder if anyone can help me.

I came off the pill (Yasmin) at beginning of October. Proper AF arrived on 3rd Nov. 2nd AF arrived 1st Dec. The next AF arrived very late on 13th Jan.

So I've had a 28 day cycle followed by a 42!

Just wondering, how am I supposed to know when my fertile period, ovulation and AF are now due?

I have an app but it works on averages and predicts this month will be a 35 day cycle. Is this likely?

HELP!

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 16:12:25

Bluefreckles - I'm not sure, but I think that your cycles can be like that for a few months after coming off the pill. It may take a little while to stabilise yet. Sorry . . .

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 16:16:13

I hope its still possible to get upduffed?

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 16:29:29

What's the thread??

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 16:31:00

Oh, yes, blue I think it is, but I think it just more difficult to pinpoint when (and maybe if) ovulation is taking place that's all. Personally I'd go for watching out for EWCM and doing it as regularly as you can.

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 16:31:30

Ignore that last message! Logged on with my laptop for the first time and the first message on this thread was placed at the top. Durrr! hmm

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 16:32:26

Hee hee - I was a bit confused blue!

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 16:32:29

EW...Cervical Mucus. What is EW? Sorry- I'm new to all this! grin

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 16:33:46

Oooo - egg white cervical mucus. It should be clearish and stringy and the test is that you should be able stretch it between your fingers and it doesn't break.

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 16:39:25

bear - so does that mean it's time to start going at it like rabbits or is it too late by that point?

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 16:48:47

Right, just had a look at my book blue and it says that the most fertile day of your cycle should be the last day you produce EWCM i.e. when your fanjo feels wettest and when the CM is 'slippery and wet like raw egg white. It is usually clear but can have opaque streaks in it', so if you produce it for more than one day then get going on the first day you see it and keep going until it disappears.

If you don't know when EWCM is going to appear, then you just need to go for it every other day to try and hit the jackpot, but then try to do it on the EWCM day as well when it appears. As sperm can live for up to 5 days in the fanjo then you might get pregnant from doing it a few days before EWCM. Hope this all makes sense.

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 17:27:24

Thank you bear!

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 19:03:53

No problemo.

ChocolateWaffle Wed 16-Jan-13 19:24:51

Can I join you guys? I'm expecting my bfp early next week not overly optimistic at all it's our first month of ttc so not getting my hopes up too much!

Is anyone else testing around then?

HopefulFairy Wed 16-Jan-13 19:47:48

Thanks Bear, I think you're right. It's such a roller coaster that you can't help but be down at times. It just seems at the mo that I can't think about anything else. Getting really annoyed by people telling me "It'll happen" or "Try not to stress about it cuz it won't happen". Do they think I don't know that already?!?!? Trying not to symptom spot as always brings disappointment but can't help myself. Felt sick today+immediately I've got the calendar open, trying to work out dates+cycle days!! Too early to be anything pregnancy related though : (

JellyBeanDavey Wed 16-Jan-13 22:56:35

Hello Ladies and blue

I'm jumping buses now! Need some special baby dust this month.
Been to see the doctor today and going to be having a blood test at the start of AF and then 21days into my cycle to check my hormone levels etc.

I'm on cycle 4, CD2, due 16th?

Im 24 and DP is almost 28, and i have been off the pill (Yasmin) since start of October. I never realised how hard it is ttc. when girls can go out and have a ONS and end up with a BFP!

Good luck ladies smile

Bearface Wed 16-Jan-13 23:17:08

Hi Jelly and Waffle

Yes, Hopeful - everything you mentioned is really annoying. Told my very pregnant friend that I am having tests and she said she was glad because it meant we would find out if anything was wrong and then could fix it. A perfectly lovely and reasonable response. Evil TTC voice in my head though goes off on one about how unfair it is and how can she ever understand. I'm often unreasonable in my head and have to talk myself down so I don't go crazy!

I'm with you Jelly - I'm on the second set of exactly the same tests. We can hold hands if you like? I should be getting some results this week. If you're on CD2 does that mean you have had or are about to have your first blood test?

setayharas Wed 16-Jan-13 23:24:05

Well the word fanjo just had me giggling like a lil school girl blush

HopefulFairy Wed 16-Jan-13 23:42:46

I'm in a similar situation Bear as my bestie is preggers with her 2nd at the mo and the more preggers she gets, the more envious I get! Feel like a terrible, terrible person and the worst friend EVER! She's had a bumpy road whilst TTC which makes me feel even worse. I would never wish it was me+not her but desperate to fall so we can share the joy a little. Anywho, FXed for a BFP in a couple of weeks.

Setay - me too!! Will be using it from now on! smile

JellyBeanDavey Wed 16-Jan-13 23:52:31

Bear - holding hands sounds good to me wink
Well this is where I'm having a little dilemma. I was sat thinking about it earlier after the docs and realised I could book the test now as AF only came yesterday, rang the surgery and they only have an appointment for 8.45 Friday and I'm ment to be leaving home for the ferry at half 7. So me and DP have decided to wait for the next cycle and not rush it (god damn I want to rush it!!! Lol)

Bearface Thu 17-Jan-13 16:53:28

Hand holding at the ready then! I think that's fair enough Jelly. I know the whole timing of tests though can be so frustrating as the flippin test places aren't always open when you need them to be and/or you can't get to them on the day you need to. Sheesh! I've had to get up very early on a Sat morning a couple of times to go and get blood tests done at a drop in clinic miles away because it's the only one available on a Sat.

I've got another blood test tomorrow, but I do have a teensy weensy bit of good news, which is that I got the results back from my last 21 day test and it would seem that they came back fine and that I ovulated. Fingers crossed that the next ones are okay now.

Apart from that ERTD got me this morning, but I'm so pleased about tests results that I don't mind too much. smile

I'm sorry for you Hopeful. It's really hard and I know exactly how you feel, but I guess we just have to pick ourselves up and carry on in the hope that it will be us soon.

Setay and Hopeful - just for you: FANJO, FANJO, FANJO! grin

Sparkle002 Fri 18-Jan-13 15:00:48

Hello ladies, sorry been so busy with work and so on but because of snow today got sent home,..........how is everyone doing? Anyone tested yet? Or are we still waiting? Baby dust to ALL !!!![ thanks]

Sparkle002 Fri 18-Jan-13 15:04:08

TallyGrenshall Fri 18-Jan-13 18:34:03

Evening all, it's Fuckity with a NC <twirls>

Well, after a back spasm in boxing day that I finally thought had sorted itself, my back has gone again today so I can do nothing but wait until it sorts itself out sad

Judging on my last few AF, my next one should be due in just over a week so will just have to wait with my fingers crossed

TallyGrenshall Fri 18-Jan-13 18:34:40

on boxing day blush

SeraHill Fri 18-Jan-13 23:15:36

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining in! Started ttc number two a few months ago, though had to take a couple of months break in Dec/ Jan which was very hard as I am very broody lol! Me and my husband have agreed to start trying again for Feb.

My birthday is at the end of Feb right around the time a bfp would be due, so hoping (but not got to much hope for) catching next month.

Baby dust to all!

Bearface Mon 21-Jan-13 15:30:32

Hi, How's everyone getting on? Anyone going to be testing soon?

I have the joy of AF at the mo, so should be able to get back on the waggon at the end of this week. Yay!

Sparkle002 Mon 21-Jan-13 18:47:26

Hello bearface I'll be testing first week in feb so keeping everything crossed

TallyGrenshall Mon 21-Jan-13 18:54:20

I will be if AF hasn't shown in the next couple of weeks.

The more I think about it, the more I'm kinda hoping that AF shows up this month because I have been on a LOT of strong painkillers and I would be petrified of the effects of those but we shall see

Bearface Mon 21-Jan-13 19:14:49

Hi Sparkle - fx for you. Hope you get what you want too Tally.

Sparkle002 Mon 21-Jan-13 20:03:15

Thanks bearface

roofio87 Mon 21-Jan-13 20:11:41

my test/AF is due on the 29th I think!! only first month ttc so trying not to get excited!! good luck with yours sparkle!! smile

Sparkle002 Mon 21-Jan-13 20:45:56

Thanks roofio87 it's my 4 th month trying

Sparkle002 Mon 21-Jan-13 20:46:29

Good luck keeping it all crossed for you too roofio87

Hi Ladies, i am on another bus but can i join this one too please?

I am 26, ttc DC#4. I have 3 boys age 5,7,9. BFP due 5th feb hopefully not holding out much hope for this month (this is our first month ttc) Anyone testing around that date that wants to hold my hand?

roofio87 Tue 22-Jan-13 11:08:48

lovethechaos3 wow,3 kids already!! I'm nearly 26 and only just feel ready for my first Haha!! good on you,I'm sure there's much you could teach me!! grin hope you get baby no 4 soon!! x

Hi roofio my first son was unplanned at the age of 17, we decided that we didn't want a huge age gap between DC's and then 2 & 3 came along with 2 year gaps. Fell pregnant pretty quick (within a few months). I did say that was it after DS #3 but changed my mind wink so here i am on the bus, currently on 2ww. How long have you been ttc?

roofio87 Tue 22-Jan-13 11:21:40

lovethechaos3 yeah I think small age gaps are nice, although I may change my mind when I have one!!Haha. I came off my pill in Nov but defo missed our first month chance being away at my parents over xmas!! so this has been our first month properly trying!! my SIL is due today and I'm getting proper broody!!
do you think you'll defo know when ur pregnant again? did u get any early signs? I have no idea how it will feel!!x

ooooh good luck for this month then i have my FX for you smile I have lots of friends that have had babies recently and i love being able to get broody and excited about the future with them.
I keep asking myself the same questions haha! I don't remember knowing i was pregnant with my 1 & 3 DS's but my 2nd i just knew, tested nearly a week before af was due and low and behold it was positive. It wasn't any symptoms as such i just felt like i knew. Haven't got that feeling at all this month, had some cramping and thought i was ov-ing again or late but no signs of that, but that could be something to do with pulling my back in the gym last week. trying so hard not to read in to every 'symptom' i have but its just me i suppose! How did you find coming off the pill, did you cycle settle down quickly?

Sparkle002 Tue 22-Jan-13 19:50:52

Hi ladies,
Lovesthechaos3 I'll be testing on the 3rd day before my birthday so we can hold each other's hands. Hoping for baby no 2

Sparkle Huge FX it's a birthday BFP for you! I might cave in an test with you yet. I never have been one for patience wink How long have you been ttc?

Sparkle002 Tue 22-Jan-13 21:00:09

It's my 4th month now was on the pill for 9yrs

4th time lucky! smile

Sparkle002 Tue 22-Jan-13 21:13:57

smileI sure hope so

Sparkle002 Tue 22-Jan-13 21:15:51

My best friend has 4 kids and she tells me sometimes it takes a whole year for the pill to leave your system and I really hope she is wrong.

I think it might different with each woman. I missed the pill for literally one day and i got pregnant with my eldest. I've had the coil for the past 5 years, the one with no hormones so nothing has changed for me in that way luckily

Sparkle002 Tue 22-Jan-13 21:24:58

My period went back to normal the month after I came of the pills and I ovulate every month so I hope it's all plus marks. I fell pregnant with my daughter the very first time without even trying so kind of hoped it will be quick again. But then again it's been 9yrs and I am older now.

Bearface Tue 22-Jan-13 21:33:47

I've decided that if I ever get a BFP I'm not going back on the pill in between trying as I feel it messes up your hormones too much. I was on it for 14 years - eek! But I spoke to the doctor and he said that the length of time you are on it has nothing to do with your ability to conceive, only with the amount of time it takes to sort out your hormones after coming off it. FX for aeveryone this month.

That's really good, i know from some ladies that have posted there are a few that take a long time to get back to normal, whatever that is haha!

Sparkle002 Tue 22-Jan-13 21:37:35

Wow bearface I agree with you

Have any ladies got any news?

Sparkle, just over a week to go until you test, have you been symptom spotting or are you good at not doing it?

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 18:10:28

Hello lovesthechaos, yes and counting......I don't know if I have or not I keep telling myself that my boobs hurt but could be all in my head....mind you I didN't have any symthoms with my first. But I did go on amazon and bought a whole pack of cheap tests.....like 50 in a pack lol lets see how long I hold out for huh

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 18:11:20

How about you? How are you getting on?

well with 50 you can test as much as your heart desires haha!! Keep strong and try and hold off until the 3rd! I am slowly going crazy, this 2ww is rubbish, going really slow. Mainly because I have pulled my back at the gym so my daily routine has gone to shit, too much time on my hands lol!

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 18:55:09

Lol oh dear......I was even thinking of to he'll with it test everyday until then either way I'll find out right?

Well you will eventually lol, was reading a 'first response' packet today in asda as you do and they said 62% accurate 5 days before first day of missed period and 99% the day before missed period. I will be a test everyday-er as well. It's so nerve racking and exciting at the same time

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 19:17:35

Get the cheap ones first so you don't spend so much then once you get a positive go for first respond to double check. Well that is my plan because they cost so much each time

Bearface Thu 24-Jan-13 19:24:49

Hi Sparkle and Loves

Sorry to hear you've done your back in Loves - hope it gets better soon. Is it something that can be easily fixed with rest?

I got my blood test results back today and they are fine, so I am really happy! smile So relieved! Just got DH to do another SA now although hoping he'll be okay as he was just about on the right side of normal last time. Poor love - think he found the stress of it all a bit much last time so he didn't produce as good a sample as he could have or perhaps has done in the past. blush

How's the waiting coming along Sparkle?

Yeah they cost a fortune, robbing sods!! I have some internet cheapies hidden away. Really want to wait until af comes/doesn't come but i know there is zero chance of that happening

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 19:28:05

Loooooong even at work all I do is count the days.
Good news on your blood test well done bearface

Hi Bear its a nerve in my lower back, it will be fine in a few days> it was my own fault for not taking advise and going back to the gym too soon.
Glad to hear you blood test results are clear smile

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 19:30:23

Lol lovesthechaos at this rate might as we do as I am thinking

Bearface Thu 24-Jan-13 19:33:46

Thanks guys!

I think if you need to POAS then you need to POAS. Just don't do it too early as it's a waste of money. I'd go for the ICs as you already said. The First Response website does 5 for £8.99 though if you want more of a bargain.

Bummer about your back Loves. Rest up and take care.

Thanks Bear I will try, with 3 young lads it's easier said than done but I wouldn't have it any other way smile

I have decided, just now infact, that i am going to wait until tuesday to POAS , that will be a week before af is due. I may sound neurotic but thats how i feel lol!

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 19:40:51

Oooooo Love that is way before me

Bearface Thu 24-Jan-13 19:44:38

Oh I see now why you are Lovesthechaos grin!!

Sparkle002 Thu 24-Jan-13 19:44:50

Well nice catching up again, time for a soak......night ladies and baby dust to all xx

Soph80 Thu 24-Jan-13 19:45:42

Lovesthechaos - I generally can't help myself either! My friend, who has also been TTC for 18 months, has never done one! I don't know how she resists!

Bearface Thu 24-Jan-13 19:46:04

Me too - need to loo! Not quite the same, but will throw some baby dust over my shoulder atcha!

Bearface Thu 24-Jan-13 19:46:40

I mean *need the loo not need to loo

Night Bear and Sparkle

Soph 18 months and not one test!! OMG i would have gone around the bend. Some people are just so calm and rational, we clearly aren't haha!

Bearface Fri 25-Jan-13 18:18:11

Oh I'm totally crazy Loves grin

FriendofDorothy Fri 25-Jan-13 18:20:53

What is babydust?

Me too Bear my boys love it when i embarass them and do an amazing rendition of gangnam style in front of all their friends!

Soph80 Fri 25-Jan-13 20:18:21

loves the chaos - I think my friend would laugh if she knew you thought she was 'calm' and 'rational' lol. Shes going out of her mind, just as much as the rest of us but manages not to give in. Its sounds silly but its also a coping mechanism a bit with me. I think I accept a BFN more than AF, daft eh? lol

While you have a bfn and no sign of af there is still hope. When af arrives its a big fat slap in the face because you know it's another month down. Well that's what I think anyway lol

Soph80 Fri 25-Jan-13 22:24:15

I think it also prepares me for the big slap as well lol

Friendsoffairy - baby dust is a silly imaginary concept that desperate wanna-be mums (me included) pretend will somehow create a miracle.....some might say I'm a tad cynical these days lol

Sparkle002 Sat 26-Jan-13 16:39:57

Hi lovesthechaos are you feeling any symthoms yet? Any clue at all?

Hi sparkle i was just coming on to post about the slight cramps i appear to be having and hoping that it's a sign. Have you had anything? I was sick the other day nothing to do with the disgusting period video doing the rounds on facebook i watched wish the days would go faster!!!

Soph80 Sun 27-Jan-13 08:51:19

lovesthe chaos - fingers crossed for you x

Thanks Soph, not holding out much hope for this month but its not over till the fat lady sings and all that

Soph80 Sun 27-Jan-13 13:59:59

Lovesthechaos -thats right! Unfortunately, the fat lady started singing for me about an hour ago grrr

Sparkle002 Sun 27-Jan-13 14:43:49

Hey lovesthechaos well same here plus a slight tinkle in my boobs but could be wrong because last time I had bad cramps but nothing came of it so lets's hope this time this could be it but trying not to get my hopes up. Apart from that nothing else........fingers cross huh keeping it crossed for both of us.

Sparkle002 Sun 27-Jan-13 14:44:10

Hello ladies, anyone got any news?

Aww no Soph that fat lady has a lot to answer for!

Hey Sparkle I have been a moody bitch since last night and have got period type pains, I feel exactly how i feel the day of af appearing. I only get pains on the first day but am horrible for about a week before. Definitely not going to be my month I just know. Have you had any more symptoms? Is it the 3rd you are testing?

roofio87 Sun 27-Jan-13 18:36:19

Are you excited to poas now sparkle? I am dying to but I know there would be no point whatsoever!

Sparkle002 Sun 27-Jan-13 21:15:26

Sparkle002 Sun 27-Jan-13 21:16:49

roofio87 Sun 27-Jan-13 21:21:07

soontobeburns Sun 27-Jan-13 21:26:36

Congrats roofio :-)

AF is due around Thursday. Had lots of "symptons" which could be a manor of other things. But this I have had really strange, swollen and sore boobs this month which I have never had before. I dont wanna get my hopes up though but this is not normal for me.

roofio87 Sun 27-Jan-13 21:28:28

only this month!! I almost feel guilty it happened so quickly for us, I was honestly so surprised!! that's not too far off loves just keep busy!!

Do not feel guilty at all, that's just the way of the world as harsh as it may be. Very happy for you. This is our first month too ttc#4. Have got lots planned this week to keep my mind off it smile

Oops sorry not sooty grin

Bearface Mon 11-Feb-13 20:49:50

Hope you had a lovely birthday Sparkle (or Sooty!)

No news here really - POAS today but got a BFN. Think I could be as little as 8dpo though, so might be a bit early for me even though ERTD is due 14th/15th, so we'll see. I only did it because I was about to fill out an application form for a job and dion't want to waste my time if I was already preggers. Now I'm none the wiser. confused

Anyone else? Sparkle - how about you?

Sparkle002 Tue 12-Feb-13 19:31:49

Hey bearface,

Nope I had my BFN 2 weeks ago so now ready to go again.
I'll say with your job app just go for it because at the end of the day could also end up a blessing.....good luck with it.
