9 days late for AF but 2 x BFN. Anyone else been through this?

I am now 9 days late but have no BFP sad
I did a pg test early morning on 3rd Jan = BFN. I then did a second pg rest after work on 4th = BFN. Both tests were 'first response - 6 days earlier'.
I'm now very confused and worried. Really thought I was pg but now not so sure.
I have no AF symptoms either. Very tired and struggling to concentrate, bloated stomach, occasional cramping and have been peeing quite a bit. Have felt a teensy bit queasy occasionally but why the BFN?
Has anyone been through this and got a BFP eventually?

Girraferama Mon 07-Jan-13 21:44:21

Hi bluefreckles I have been in exactly the same situation. I've been off the pill since August and TTC since Oct. have had regular light periods until dec when I had nothing. I did 4 tests over 12 days, but had very few/minor symptoms like you. All were bfn. I went to the docs in the end. She did another test and told me I def wasn't pregnant after that much time. They didn't seem worried - put it largely to my body adjusting after the pill. They said, as long as I had had some periods since the pill they weren't worried and it could take 6-8 months off the pill before they find a cycle. They also said that, since I was irregular before going on the pill 10 years ago, they could be irregular again. Does any of that relate to you?

My doc told me to go back if I don't have any more periods for another couple of months but if they are just irregular keep doing tests!

It's really annoying because it gets your hopes up unnecessarily! I needed the push from the doc to say "definitely not" though cos I was driving myself mad thinking maybe it was just too early!

Hope this helps...you are not alone!

PurplePoppySeed Mon 07-Jan-13 22:07:13

Me three!!! This is only my second ever post as I'm fairly new to mumsnet but I'm worried too so thought I'd post smile

I'm now 5 days late and still no BFP - have also been trying the first response tests! This is my second cycle since ERPC in November following a MMC, but I had AF last month at 27 days post ERPC so thought this cycle would be ok. I've also got preg type symptoms - having just been pregnant, they really do feel the same and we were actively trying wink

I've actually got a hospital appointment with a gynae tomorrow as MC follow up and referral re previous problems. I'm going to ask him the stats on this as I'm 50/50 between thinking I have another ovarian cyst vs pregnant - argh! But I'm dreaded telling him I think I'm pregnant when I have no proof, I feel I'll look stupid, esp if AF turns up straight away!

Likewise, it would be lovely to hear that it is still possible to see good news soon. I'll also report back with when he/she says to this question - fingers crossed for us all

bluefreckles Mon 07-Jan-13 22:47:24

Hi both. Lovely to hear from you. I've also (sorry TMI) been having a lot of creamy white cervical mucus last week or so which I have read can be another sign of being pg.
I'm going to re-test in the next couple of days...
Also having some cracking moods swings, bit of back ache and bloated crampiness.
Just want to know what's going on!

bluefreckles Mon 07-Jan-13 22:48:56

Girra - did they do any more tests on you at docs? how could they be sure?

bluefreckles Mon 07-Jan-13 22:50:27

Purple - I'm still very much hoping I'm pg too. <holds out hand>
Are you going to retest any time soon?

blizy Mon 07-Jan-13 22:57:03

Hi, same happened to me over nov/dec. af late, negative pg tests, negative hcg blood test at dr and finally 76 days later AF arrived! I usually very regular. So this was a bit of a shock. I have been ttc for almost 2 years now and thought this was my time sad.

PurplePoppySeed Mon 07-Jan-13 22:58:06

Freckles, me too, and it's exactly the same as when I was preg in sept/oct! Plus IBS type symptoms already - yuk. My DH tried to cheer me up by telling me I'm having a phantom pregnancy like our friends dog grin which did actually make me laugh (I have a weird sense of humour).

I think I should test again in the morning before I go to my appointment as it would be really embarrassing if I get asked to try testing there and its positive - not sure though as I'll end up getting upset again!

PurplePoppySeed Mon 07-Jan-13 23:00:18

Oh no blitzy, so sorry to hear that, that's rubbish thanks

We'll all get there eventually and when we do we'll appreciate it even more for the challenges we've been through.

bluefreckles Mon 07-Jan-13 23:05:30

Fingers crossed for us both then Purple. Hope it goes OK at your appointment. Will update on here with what happens to me in next few days x

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 12:52:27

Hey everyone. No progress from my end. Was really moody and tense last night. Lots of creamy white cm (sorry for TMI). Back ache. Crampy, bloated stomach with ridiculous amount of wind (again, sorry!). Nothing on the boob front - maybe slightly fuller than normal. And of course - now 9/10 days late with no sign of AF at all.
DP is now very excited but I won't believe it until someone or something confirms it.
Waiting for cheap ebay tests to arrive...

PurplePoppySeed Tue 08-Jan-13 13:16:07

Hi, sorry for not reporting back sooner - I've wasted the entire morning at the hospital for a 20 min appointment. Stupid nurse insisted that I didn't need to take my big clompy boots off for weigh in and then put me at a BMI of 26 when I'm clearly a size 10-12, I know it's not that bad, but it annoys me as it's the first time it's been over 25 and it will stay on my records! Then after the appointment, a 90 min wait at the pharmacy and the poor woman on reception was run off her feet when there were receptionists everywhere else doing very little - argh I hate the NHS!

On the question re. this thread - at the end of my appointment I asked about my current symptoms & lack of a BFP and he basically said there is nothing else any dr can or really needs do in the first few weeks after AF was meant to show up as the home tests are very sensitive & accurate! I asked about if nothing happens in a week etc and he said that I just have to wait it out as either I'll eventually get a BFP or AF will arrive and there's no point stressing about it until that happens! I will let you decide if you want to take that advice as tbh I'll probably still go and ask the doctor for a blood test if this carries on after all I went through with my last rather eventful but short-lived pregnancy!

PurplePoppySeed Tue 08-Jan-13 13:17:14

ps. Blue I'm keeping fingers crossed for you

Girra - has your AF arrived? When I came off the Pill at 20 I didn't have any cycles at all in 6 months, at which point I wanted to go back on the pill as I was at Uni - at the time dr wasn't remotely worried and just told me to go straight back on it! I would definately keep an eye though and if anything seems odd, go back to the dr as I have ended up with gynae issues from about age 21 - am 31 now.

purplefairies Tue 08-Jan-13 13:18:54

Same situation with me. I came off the pill in May 2012 and have had regular 31-34 day cycles ever since. Fairly confident I have been ovulating as I get quite marked OV pain and CM consistent with OV.

Was due AF on New Year's Eve, tested on Jan 3rd and BFN sad This is now CD 42. No AF symptoms, but also lots of CM (including a lot of jelly-like CM - sorry - last week) and odd cramping in my lower back (which I've never had before and don't get with AF). Also feeling light-headed and dizzy, although this wears off in the course of the day.

Glad to see others are in the same position, but it's really frustrating, isn't it? I've been "sure" I was pregnant twice before and it came to nothing, so trying hard not to focus too much on it. I really hope it isn't the start of upset cycles though. I was really pleased with my regular cycles coming off the pill and thought that would be a good sign.

May test again first thing tomorrow morning but know I'll be so frustrated if it's another BFN. I had a dream last June that I would be due in September 2013 and have always wondered if there was something in it - but I also have a really vivid imagination and sometimes I wonder if my "symptoms" are half-imagined.

Fingers crossed we are all pregnant!!!!

PurplePoppySeed Tue 08-Jan-13 14:03:28

yep definately fingers crossed... completely agree - I'm the same - so sure I'm pregnant but DH is trying to stop me getting my hopes up, which he is of course right to do so I'm less upset if/when AF appears.

I've been testing with First response since NYE as my symptoms started on the 29th and I was sure I had implatation spotting on Christmas Day. The other day I thought there was a faint line but DH told me I was seeing things - seriously, this can drive you mad & broke! /must buy some internet cheapy tests!

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 14:18:34

Purple fairies - sounds like you and me are in the same boat!

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 14:19:30

...and purple poppy seed! is there something in purple wink

PurplePoppySeed Tue 08-Jan-13 14:23:06

hehe - my fav colour, though someone told me once that its the colour of sexual frustration!!!

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 18:02:11

Booked an app with my doc next Monday morning...

PurplePoppySeed Tue 08-Jan-13 18:14:52

good plan & good luck smile

mrsstewpot Tue 08-Jan-13 18:41:53

Just wanted to put my tuppence worth in as I can completely relate to your frustrations!
2 years ago, period 10 days late and despite clockwork cycles no BFP! Doctor gave me a phone consultation and told me that I "probably" wasn't pregnant. 9 months later same doctor was giving my son his newborn checkup!
I didn't get a positive until a good 17 days after period was due.
The only thing that got me through those 2 weeks+ of not knowing either way was googling and reading all threads relating to this phenonomen!
Good luck to you all - it sucks having to be patient!

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 18:44:04

Hi mrsstewpot - it's lovely to hear one of these stories that ends in a beautiful baby. Gives us all hope. Thank you.
Just out of interest, what were your symptoms in that long wait for your BFP after your missed period?

mrsstewpot Tue 08-Jan-13 18:56:02

Looking back it's hard to tell of any real symptoms. I was going crazy and over thinking any twinge or cramp. I was very emotional but that could have been the stress of not knowing what the hell was going on!
When I went for my 12 week scan it turned out that I was only around 10 weeks which accounted for the very late BFP. The midwife later explained that I must have ovulated very late in my cycle, close to when my period would have been due. She said that could have been due to stress. Now I don't now if I'm a late ovulater (just 1 pregnancy) but I do know I'd had an extremely stressful month at work so perhaps that delayed ovulation.
Hope that makes sense!

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 19:01:56

Thank you. That's really helpful. I wonder if I am in the same boat - work has been pretty stressful lately. The AF prior to missing one, was that normal?
I last had AF on 1st December. the two weeks prior to that I was experiencing LOADS of pg symptoms. Boobs hurt, felt queasy, just had a feeling. When AF turned up it started off brown and then turned pink then red. It only lasted 3 days max.
This month I haven't had sore boobs - they do feel SLIGHTLY fuller - but I am getting cramps, bloatedness, mood swings like you wouldn't believe, back ache, daily creamy white cm for about 2 weeks and of course no AF...

PurplePoppySeed Tue 08-Jan-13 19:22:05

Thanks mrsstewpot, I'm sure I'm in that boat too, after a MC who knows what my cycles are doing!

Girraferama Tue 08-Jan-13 19:39:10

Hi all - in some way it's great to hear that this happens often, at least we're not alone! purple still no AF and no symptoms and I tested again last week, just out of curiosity really cos I received my Internet cheapie inte post! Have resigned myself to the fact it's not coming and I'm not pg.. The annoying thing is that I've no idea if and when I'll ovulate. Thinking about buying an ov kit, but I really didn't want to go down that road so early in to TTC as I'm worried I'll get obsessive about it!

Good luck to you all who are waiting anxiously! thanks

mrsstewpot Tue 08-Jan-13 19:53:36

I think the cycle prior to conceiving was normal. The stress at work was pretty much the duration of 3 weeks after that last AF.

Can really sympathise with you all - I too spent a fortune on tests and convinced myself I was having a phantom pg!

I remember eventually coming home from work one day and my nipples were really chaffed and sore! That was when I knew without the a test that I was pg. I went and bought an expensive digital test and saved it for the next morning when I finally got BFP!

Good luck everyone! I hope to try for DC2 later in the year - hope I don't experience the waiting game again!

mrsstewpot Tue 08-Jan-13 20:04:26

Or rather WE hope to try - can't take all the credit!

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 20:11:06

Bring on the chaffed nipples!! grin

bluefreckles Tue 08-Jan-13 20:37:49

Also, keep getting stabbing pains under ribs just after eating a meal when I breath in or out deeply - a sign or just odd?

purplefairies Wed 09-Jan-13 08:48:19

Thanks mrsstewpot for the positive story. Funnily enough my OV pain wasn't as strong as it normally is the weekend I thought I ovulated and I was getting a lot of OV symptoms 2 weeks ago, so hoping I ovulated late (even if not PG) as late ovulation is better than none at all.

I tested last night and another BFN. Still getting random lower back pain and intermittantly burning nipples, though, which I've never had before and aren't normal for me pre-AF. Still, trying to set my hopes aside now as I don't want more disappointment.

Girafferama, I know what you mean about OV kits. I've heard good things about the fertility monitor but I just don't want TTC taking over our whole life.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 09:43:09

Hello everyone. Well I'm now 10 or 11 days late. Strange feeling in my stomach that takes my breath away at times. Last night had a few bits of, what I think was, heartburn - really painful after dinner. No signs of AF at all. Still needing to pee a lot despite not drinking enough. Creamy white cm continues. Every night I.am.having vivid dreams and keep waking up. Tired as hell and very easily upset by ANYTHING! Gosh this is fun isn't it. Oh I forgot to mention the persistent wind sad
This will all be worth it if I eventually get my BFP.

purplefairies Wed 09-Jan-13 09:52:27

Bluefreckles, I got heartburn last night, too! Vivid dreams are pretty normal for me to be honest (always had an overactive imagination) but the annoying thing is I keep dreaming about pregnancy and then being disappointed in the morning.

I really hope we get a BFP on this thread!

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 09:56:31

hey fairies! I have never had heartburn before. I just keep reading what mrsstewpot said and taking hope from that. I haven't tested since doing a test first thing on the 3rd Jan and one after work on 4th. Terrified to test now

PurplePoppySeed Wed 09-Jan-13 11:06:50

Sounds hopeful blue, a lot of people say dreams are a pregnancy symptom, fingers crossed. Looking back at my monthly symptoms (I have an app I use to track them) I may have ov'ed Christmas day, so as its now just over 2 weeks I'm going to test again tomorrow/Friday I think, though I'm also a bit scared! I'm like you, still no AF, but knackered and feeling faint and tired all the time!

123234345 Wed 09-Jan-13 11:38:16

Hello! Just joined and this is my first post.

Bluefreckles - I'm in exactly the same situation as you. Came off pill last March and pretty regular periods since then. Last period was on 30 Nov and was I due the next on 31 December. Now I'm 9 days late. I tested on 6 and 8 Jan, both negative. I'm trying to decide how long to wait before booking a GP appointment, complicated by the fact I'm going on holiday next week. I think it's unlikely I'd be pregnant as dtd and ovulation were both long ago so I'd imagine it would show up on a test by now (not that I know how these things work).

It's just the sense of limbo which is annoying: once I get my period I know when to start trying again! Also I don't want my period on holiday!

I'll report back if anything changes. In the meantime good luck and thanks for posting because it's good to have company.

purplefairies Wed 09-Jan-13 12:10:51

Welcome to the thread 123234345! We are almost cycle twins - my period was 28 Nov but I have longer cycles so wasn't due until 30/31 December either. I'm also off on holiday in 2 weeks and then DH is off on business for a bit which will make DTD more difficult, so I'd like to get cracking on the next cycle as soon as possible, which is why it's so annoying.

Interesting that you've also been pretty regular since March. That's the same as me. I find plenty of threads about ladies being irregular just after stopping the pill, but it seems odd I would be regular for so long and then things would start going wrong so suddenly.

I've ordered 20 cheap Ebay test strips so may test again at the weekend if still no AF. That would be just over 2 weeks since last DTD so would be my last hope really.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 12:55:47

Welcome! So nice to talk things through with others who are going through the same thing. Having a negative day today. Feel like everything is in my head! sad

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 14:53:10

So when are you all testing? I'm going for it Saturday, which will be cd44 for me (12 days late)

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 15:01:05

I am on CD40 at the moment. Normally a 29/29 day cycle. Going to test as soon as my internet cheapies arrive in the post (any time now) but very VERY apprehensive about it now. Also have an appointment booked at docs Monday. If I get a BFP it will be to discuss that. If still no BFP or AF will be to panic and discuss that - although already thinking I will be fobbed off...

purplefairies Wed 09-Jan-13 15:06:10

I may test again tomorrow if my cheapies are here - have never used FMU so far and drink quite a lot of water throughout the day. Not holding out much hope though.

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome Wed 09-Jan-13 15:12:08

When we very first started ttc, I had fairly regular cycles that were approx 30 - 32 days. I wasn't entirely sure though as I'm fairly rubbish at keeping track of things, so thought I'd make a note of dates (using fertility friend actually) so that I'd have a rough idea of LMPs, cycle lengths and best times to dtd.

I got to CD48 and was CONVINCED I was pregnant as I never usually had that long between periods. Pissed my money away Went through countless tests, all BFN and eventually AF arrived on CD48. I was gutted, but I think the mere act of trying to take note of my dates psyched me up and made my cycles go crazy.

(I stopped trying to work out dates after that, which made it hard to work out the EDD when I got my BFP two months later!).

On the other hand, a colleague (not yet 30) hadn't had AF for a long time and went through countless pregnancy tests - home and at the GPs. They all came back negative and they were investigating her for early menopause. She was really worried that it could be something more serious and couldn't understand what was going on. They eventually arranged for a scan to invesitgate for fibroids (I think) and found a 20 week old baby! grin They still have no idea why all her tests were negative, and she has a lovely 3 month old to show for it!

PurplePoppySeed Wed 09-Jan-13 15:43:23

I'm only on CD35, been off the pill for 2-3 years, normal cycle length 27-28 days, was pregnant last year but had MMC and ERPC early November, first cycle after was 27 days. I could easily be having a long cycle this time, however symptoms are keeping me hopeful too, I think I might test again tomorrow - I don't have the willpower that blue has grin

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 16:11:17

Weewee - thank you. Its really useful to hear both sides of how this sort of thing can pan out. I know we're all keeping our fingers firmly crossed here on this thread that we will get our long awaited BFP soon.
Or at least have fun trying for another! x

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 16:11:51

Purple - I don't have willpower, I'm just a big wuss!

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 16:29:27

Your right. It is great hearing both sides. I just wish I could have a BFP or AF cos then I can get on with trying again. But being in limboland is frustrated. It's also nice to been able to talk about everything. I feel it helps with the frustration, rather then discussing it with yourself and winding yourself up lol

123234345 Wed 09-Jan-13 16:32:13

WeeWeeWee - thanks for that, good to hear both sides.

I wonder whether there are any stats on how often a test can be false negative? I know it's much more likely to be a late period but it would be nice to know the relative probabilities! The tests all say that they are over 99% accurate, but I think that is referring to how accurately the test detects the hormone, not how accurately that indicates a pregnancy or otherwise. I may have misunderstood, though.

I will test again on Saturday when I'm going on holiday, and if I've not had my period by the time I get back I'll go to the GP. If I do get it, then at least I can have some wine while I'm away.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 17:26:49

So I caved and did two (just to be sure) of the 20 cheapie tests I ordered and both look like a BFN. I would cry if I weren't so numb sad

mrsstewpot Wed 09-Jan-13 17:38:21

Oh stay strong bluefreckles! So hard I know! You're taking me right back - can remember caving in and buying more tests and then feeing gutted when still no BFP! Hang on in there - you're still in the running.

123234345 and JellyBeanDavey have it in one - limbo is exactly what it is!

Incidentally did you DTD late on in cycle? At a time when you thought you would not be fertile? Just going by the late ov idea.

Fingers still tightly crossed.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 17:50:40

I've only been off the pill properly since beginning Oct and Dec was our first month of trying (paying attention to fertile days etc). I don't know why I thought it would happen straight away but when I missed my AF I thought 'wow, this is it!'.
Not so sure now. Think I must be having one of those anovulatory cycles or whatever. My AF's have always been so regular in the past though <wallows in self-pity>.
Just want my AF now so I can move on. Still have an app at Docs Monday but don't know if I can face hearing what I am dreading - I'm not pregnant I.just have an 'issue'. sad

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 17:51:26

Mrsstewpot I dtd everyday (maybe bar a day or 2) and still going (tmi) just in case haha

Hang on in there blue!! It's not over til fat flo sings!!

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 18:01:53

now eating ridiculous amounts of chocolate to console myself.

P.S. I must also be the only person who doesn't even get an evaporation line!

mrsstewpot Wed 09-Jan-13 18:15:56

Good work Jelly!

Chocolate will help Blue. Sometimes you just have to embrace feeling down. But it's not over yet - I will remain (annoyingly) upbeat and positive for you!

123234345 Wed 09-Jan-13 18:16:10

Can you imagine what it was like before pregnancy tests? When did they become widely available? Did our parents have to just wait and see?

Good luck all. Keep strong.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 18:32:44

I really do appreciate everyone's support. I've said it before, but it really helps to.share smile

yellowsnownoteatwillyou Wed 09-Jan-13 18:41:56

not read all the thread, but I was 20 days late. normally always bang on time. and got a BFP,am now 10 weeks pregnant.

It does mean my dates are all screwed up, but got an early scan which confirmed 6/7 weeks pregnant, when I would have been 8/9 I think. but will get due date when I get another scan in a week's time.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou Wed 09-Jan-13 18:45:45

I have now read it and feel bad for posting, as I got a positive outcome.

the limbo was the worst bit, but sometimes it does work out.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 18:51:22

Hi Yellowsnow
No it's great to hear all aspects. Did you test before your BFP at all? smile

yellowsnownoteatwillyou Wed 09-Jan-13 18:55:03

did I test, oh yes I did indeed.about 10 pound shop tests, 2 clear blue and about 4 asda a ones. the day my pack of 20 tests from eBay arrived. I got BFP.

PurplePoppySeed Wed 09-Jan-13 19:43:41

Wow, i'm way behind on this thread now! Based on how the ttc threads normally go, i thought id try and summarise where we all are - So i think we now have the following people who are all late but still hopeful until AF arrives - Have I missed anyone? And did I manage to get any of the stats right?

Bluefreckles - AF due 29/12 (now CD 40)
Purplefairies - AF due 31/12 (now CD 43)
Purplepoppyseed - AF due 3/1 (now CD 35)
123234345 - AF due 31/12 (now CD ??)
Jellybeandavey - AF due 31/12 (now CD 41)
Girraferama - ??

Blitzy and Weewee both had examples where AF eventually arrived but Mrsstewpot, yellow, weewee's colleague and I've just found out one of my colleagues all had BFP's eventually.

I'm still not going to get too excited especially as you are all way further overdue than me, but I'm still keeping fingers crossed for all of us just in case!

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 19:45:00

Just bought a test, a clear blue digi one even though I wanted first response but Sainsbury's didn't have it hmm just stopping off at Uncle Sams for some comfort food haha

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 19:47:18

Nice one, an Late AF bus! I like it wink

PharmaGirl Wed 09-Jan-13 19:47:33

Hi all, got my AF yesterday which was 6 days late & it was my worst 1 since coming off the pill since August, nearly keeled over with pain, & AF was bright red ( sorry if tmi) but it only lasted a day?? Nothing today except feeling nauseous, bloated & have a pain on my right side?? 😞Anyone else had this?

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 19:50:32

Pharmagirl, I haven't had that before. Every single period I've ever had have last 5-6 days or more, even after I came off the pill in October x

PharmaGirl Wed 09-Jan-13 19:56:19

Jellybean was having 3-5 day Af before this one, but more like the ones u have while on pill more brown then red! Didn't mind getting Af yesterday as my cycle was getting better 28,42,35,34 & straighting out, don't know if its stress related or my mind playing tricks?! x

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 20:07:47

Testing.... 3mins wait....[hmmm]

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 20:11:02

A BFN!! hmm Boooo....

PharmaGirl Wed 09-Jan-13 20:13:03

Boo 😣what's your cd?

PharmaGirl Wed 09-Jan-13 20:14:02

Stupid face sorry :-(

Girraferama Wed 09-Jan-13 20:15:59

Thanks for the summary! Mine was due 21/12 so I'm well behind the rest of you sad I tested again on 4th Jan with a BFN... Think I may be in the definitely-not-pg group.. Unless I end up like one of the mystery ones who finds out at 20 weeks! Ahh if only..

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 20:16:20

I'm on cd41 lol Monday will be 2 weeks late.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 20:20:11

Jellybean - you and I are having a rubbish evening aren't we sad

As someone else said, we're not out until AF rears her ugly head. smile

Girraferama Wed 09-Jan-13 20:22:00

I might be being stupid but is cd the number of days since last period? In which case mine would be 50!!! Doesn't look good sad

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 20:23:06

Girra - yes its cycle day. Number if days since start of last AF x

Girraferama Wed 09-Jan-13 20:24:06

Ahh 52 then - even worse!!

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 20:24:22

This is very true, blue (hehe that rhymes)

Does anyone else imagine their reactions if they were to get a bfn just before testing?

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 20:25:31

When I created this thread I should have named it 'Missed AF but BFN Bus'. Getting quite a following now!
Least it means none of us are alone smile

PharmaGirl Wed 09-Jan-13 20:25:52

Blue : even if my Af was 1 day?

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 20:28:26

I'm no expert but yes, I think so... smile

PurplePoppySeed Wed 09-Jan-13 20:30:14

Pharma girl, I'm afraid the only advice/comparison I can offer is that for the first year after coming off the pill every single period I had was different in terms of pain/duration/flow, I wouldn't worry unless the pain doesn't go away, it sounds like ovary pains but could also be IBS type irritation which can often feel the same and be caused by monthly cycles?

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 20:58:18

Girra - were you on the pill?

PharmaGirl Wed 09-Jan-13 21:10:12

Thanks ladies time to start planning next ovulation :-)

leo16 Wed 09-Jan-13 21:38:30

Hi

I have been googling like mad about this recently! I'm now 10 days late and have been getting bfn. So frustrating not knowing and I keep going between thinking I may be pregnant then not.

I was due smear when 7 days late but nurse decided not to do it as could be pregnant but just too early to show, which got my hopes up again. All out of tests so resisting until cheap ones I ordered arrive.

Hope there are some positives here soon.

extracrunchy Wed 09-Jan-13 21:42:25

Yep. I had a 79 day cycle last summer (normally ~32 days). All BFNs. Had a blood test and scan to check nothing was up. All normal - just a blip.

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 21:42:35

Leo - you're very welcome. We're all in the same boat and sending positive thoughts to all! x

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 21:49:36

Crunchy - welcome too. Are you still TTC? smile

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 21:53:03

What are these cheap peeing sticks from eBay I keep hearing about. I NEED some!!

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 21:55:44

What are these cheap peeing sticks from eBay I keep hearing about. I NEED some!!

mmmmsleep Wed 09-Jan-13 22:11:18

Was 12d post due period with neg test. Went to wedding. Got pished. Next day positive test....ds asleep next door!

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 22:16:50

Aaww sleep that's nice! If only it was like that for us! I just hope I get a bfn.

JellyBeanDavey Wed 09-Jan-13 22:17:39

A bfn??? Haha I have plenty of them, a BFP I mean LOL

Girraferama Wed 09-Jan-13 22:19:15

Hey blue yes I was and doc has said it's prob just irregular due to that (only stopped in Aug) so I'm assuming that, even though previous 4 were very regular. Just annoying as don't know if and when to expect AF!

Girraferama Wed 09-Jan-13 22:21:40

jellybean I got these from Amazon after someone on here recommended them

www.amazon.co.uk/15-Ultra-Early-Pregnancy-Available/dp/B0026RQ75W

extracrunchy Wed 09-Jan-13 22:46:16

We're having a bit of a break as we got a bit obsessed (went mental - got thrush, carried on regardless, hurt, got in bizarre pattern of DH erm sorting himself out till he was almost done, then making his deposit! grin Tmi soz...) but will be back on it soon. It'll probably happen when we're not trying!

bluefreckles Wed 09-Jan-13 22:52:06

Loving this thread everyone! We must all try and remember to update on here with our outcomes (when we eventually get them) - will help future generations! wink

JellyBeanDavey Thu 10-Jan-13 00:17:47

I'm feeling grumbles in my tummy! I think an angry AF is on her way!

Girraferama Thu 10-Jan-13 06:49:53

Ok ladies now I need you! Just done another test (spurred on by bloated ness, ill fitting clothes and yesterday's posts!) I've got a faint positive! Totally thrown now! Could it be wrong? Do I do another one? Buy an expensive one? Wait a few days? Since its been so long (cd53 and counting!) could this be early sign from ovulation this month? In a total spin, don't want to tell DH and get his hopes up!

bluefreckles Thu 10-Jan-13 08:11:15

Girra - I did another test this morning too but still got BFP.
Do another test - maybe a digital one? How exciting! You may be our first BFP! grin

Girraferama Thu 10-Jan-13 08:25:50

Thanks blue stupidly threw away left over wee so going to try and wait Til first one tomorrow.. Have crazy busy day at work and won't get home until late so hopefully it will keep my mind off it. Really trying not to get too excited in case it's a blip!!

Sorry your was bfn... There's still time!

BurnThisDiscoDown Thu 10-Jan-13 08:41:01

I had this when I was trying for DS - in the end AF was 6 weeks late! My GP sent me for a blood test after about 4 weeks, then when that came back negative prescribed me progesterone tablets to start it. I think in my case it was the pill working its way out of my system as my cycles were completely different after the epic one. On the plus side, I fell pregnant 3 cycles after that!

purplefairies Thu 10-Jan-13 08:49:25

Wow, Girrafe, that is sounding very positive for you. Please please please update us when you do another test.

I also caved and did 2 more Internet cheapies - one last night and one this morning with FMU. Both BFN, of course. Ended up opening a huge bag of crisps last night and munching them all - even spread camembert on a few since I can obviously keep eating that. Didn't feel as sad this time just very angry that my body is messing me around this month. I just felt so sure I'd get my BFP in January. In some ways I feel like this month was my only chance and it will never happen now. Irrational, I know, but how am I even going to have hope for future 2wws now that I know that symptoms and lack of period actually mean absolutely nothing sad

Totally agree that we should all update with our outcomes. It's so frustrating finding other threads and then never finding out what happened....

rainbowbreeze Thu 10-Jan-13 10:08:41

Hi ladies, so glad I found this thread.. am only on day 30 but normally very regular around day 24-26. Did a pg test this morn and got a BFN sad

Almost good to know its another common cruel aspect of TTC and as long as AF doesnt arrive i'll keep testing and keep all my fingers and toes crossed this month is our time !!

purplefairies Thu 10-Jan-13 10:11:18

Welcome to the thread, Rainbowbreeze. I think Giraffe's result shows that the outcome can be positive. I really hope she sets a positive trend for all of us on here!

123234345 Thu 10-Jan-13 10:55:10

Woohoo Girraferama! Fingers crossed that tomorrow confirms it!

Today: CD41, still no period. After having decided I definitely can't be pregnant, I still keep wondering. I still think it's unlikely though. I will test again on Saturday. Or maybe Friday. Will keep you all posted. Good luck all.

bluefreckles Thu 10-Jan-13 11:07:35

Are the tides turning? Will we have BFP's getting off the bus in droves? grin

bluefreckles Thu 10-Jan-13 11:08:28

Welcome rainbowbreeze. Jump in the boat (or on the bus) we're all in it! smile

rainbowbreeze Thu 10-Jan-13 11:31:37

Lets hope so grin
Congrats Giraffe !!!

JellyBeanDavey Thu 10-Jan-13 13:20:46

I tested again and nothing. Been have cramps on and off. I can't afford anymore tests lol so ill just have to wait. I've asked for one thing only for my birthday (Sunday) and that's a test haha I'm going to stop stressing now, what will be will be and we're not going to get anything any quicker, so embrace time grin

bluefreckles Thu 10-Jan-13 13:41:15

Jellybean - how late are you now? Try and get the cheapie tests from ebay or amazon. I got 20 10miu tests for £2.40!

JellyBeanDavey Thu 10-Jan-13 13:43:38

Blue I'm gona try. That sound like a good option. I'm on my 11th day late

bluefreckles Thu 10-Jan-13 15:59:28

We're about same. I'm 11 or 12 days late... smile

JellyBeanDavey Thu 10-Jan-13 17:49:10

I keep reading about people DTD like as little as once a fortnight. I am so shocked! I couldn't survive on that, trying or no trying.

Girraferama Thu 10-Jan-13 19:38:15

I'm afraid I'm one of those blush but for a good reason!! DH is a shift worker so we can go days without seeing each other or not being in bed at the same time, it's annoying but sometimes life just gets on the way!!

PurplePoppySeed Thu 10-Jan-13 20:39:51

Hi everyone, wow, it's great to have so much company on the late AF bus wink

Girra so glad to hear your good news, fingers crossed for a stronger line tomorrow.

I had heart burn last night too as I'm getting ridiculously tired, so I caved a day early and did another first response test and also got a really faint line this morning, so I'm going to try again tomorrow am. I'm feeling hopeful, however having had the MC so recently if this works out I think I'll probably be panicking and checking for bleeds constantly until I get past 13 weeks and I won't tell anyone this time until I cant hide it any more!

Good luck anyone testing tomorrow am xx

JellyBeanDavey Thu 10-Jan-13 23:10:11

So summary of today: no AF!! And with all these hopeful faint lines, I'm feeling the hope smile lets get some BFPs and make this the 2 line bus!!

leo16 Fri 11-Jan-13 06:53:39

Fab news Girrafarama and PurplePoppySeed about the faint lines, hope they continue getting darker!

Cheap ones arrived and still BFN. Going to re-test when 2 weeks overdue and maybe book dr after if still negative.

What's those that are still waiting doing about ttc? We are still trying but now have no idea when ovulation will be.

PurplePoppySeed Fri 11-Jan-13 07:54:56

Good plan, keep going for it Leo grin

I got a darker line today, I think I might actually believe it now!!! Yey

JellyBeanDavey Fri 11-Jan-13 08:12:59

Yay!! That's amazing news purple!! How late again were you?

123234345 Fri 11-Jan-13 08:22:08

Brilliant Purple! Congratulations!

Update: day 42 and still no period. I have resisted the temptation to test today and will test tomorrow morning.

purplefairies Fri 11-Jan-13 08:34:45

PurplePoppySeed - that is fabulous news, congratulations!!! Just goes to show there really is still hope!

Day 45 for me now....won't test until the start of next week. I think that would be my last chance.

"I keep reading about people DTD like as little as once a fortnight. I am so shocked! I couldn't survive on that, trying or no trying."

JellyBean, that's me, too. DH works away a lot on business and even when he's here, we both work really long hours with long commutes so are generally exhausted by the evening and can't wait to sleep more than anything else. Sad but true blush

Leo16, DH is away on business this week so no DTD for us anyway. To be honest I normally get really clear OV symptoms - prounounced pain and changes in CM (usually followed by AF exactly 14 days later), so I think I'd know if I were ovulating. At the moment I feel nothing at all. It's like a total non-cycle.

JellyBeanDavey Fri 11-Jan-13 08:44:39

Oh! I feel really sorry for my dp, he gets really tired but I don't let him go haha sorry if I offended anyone, I speak before I think.

purplefairies Fri 11-Jan-13 09:32:14

No offence taken, JellyBean smile

Girraferama Fri 11-Jan-13 09:55:01

Morning all, I've now done 3 cheapie tests and went out to get a first response this morning to confirm - definite BFP!!

Congrats too purple - looks like we've started a trend and hopefully a lucky thread!! I was cd52 on first positive and I had tested as recently as a week ago, so don't give up ladies - it's not over until Aunt Flo sings!!

purplefairies Fri 11-Jan-13 09:57:54

Hurrah for Girraferama, that is fabulous!! Definitely gives us all hope!

JellyBeanDavey Fri 11-Jan-13 10:18:44

Yay! Congrats!! I'm losing track of all these BFPs! Lol I'm past the record of 42dats for a cycle. I'm now 43days lol going to get an Asda one tonight when I take mum shopping. I'm gona do it tomorrow and not on my bday Sunday cos if its still a bfn I don't wana feel disappointed all day.

FamiliesShareGerms Fri 11-Jan-13 10:24:38

I had two -ve tests when I was pregnant with DS. I went to the doctor because I had all the normal pg symptoms (queasy, sore boobs etc) and she simply shrugged off the test results and said if you have all the symptoms then you are pregnant. I took a test just before my 12 week scan because, although by then I was starting swell a bit, I was still worried that I'd get in there and it would all be a false alarm, and that was the first positive test I had.

123234345 Fri 11-Jan-13 10:39:09

So when the tests say that they are over 99% accurate, it's a load of rubbish (at least in the case of a negative result)? Why don't they say that in the leaflet? Thanks for sharing FamiliesShareGerms. Massive congratulations Girraferama and Purple!

FamiliesShareGerms Fri 11-Jan-13 10:43:10

Well, I guess they can be 99.999% accurate if I am one of the 0.001%!!

PurplePoppySeed Fri 11-Jan-13 11:04:12

Thanks everyone, I'm on day 37 now which is 10 days late, but I've had symptoms since about 28th dec and been sure I was preg since NYE! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for everyone on here waiting and if I get a chance later tonight I'll try as update those stats as it is nice to know who's where.

123234345 Fri 11-Jan-13 11:04:33

True! But I didn't realise it was quite so common to test negatively at first before a positive test.

purplefairies Fri 11-Jan-13 11:27:21

I think it's also because the 99% assumes you have regular cycles and know exactly when you ovulated. If you can't be sure when you ovulated then I suppose you can't really be sure when your AF is really due (applies in my case anyway)

JellyBeanDavey Fri 11-Jan-13 12:17:15

I have a theory. With first morning wee, it's more concentrate and that's why you have a better result. So if I don't drink much (which isn't a surprise) hopefully it be a better result? Bcos it's using more 'bodily' fluid??

Girraferama Fri 11-Jan-13 13:13:39

Haha, I think it's due to the body clock - I'm sure I read somewhere you generate more of the hormone when you are asleep..?

blizy Fri 11-Jan-13 13:33:13

Just popping on to congratulate all of the bfp's! Lets hope for some more....

JellyBeanDavey Fri 11-Jan-13 13:34:59

My best friend just said the same thing. Now I feel really young lol

Talking of age, if you don't mind me asking, how old is everyone? I'm 24 Sunday.

I feel I've gotten to know everyone, but when I think back, I only know about your cycles and nothing else LOLgrin

mrsstewpot Fri 11-Jan-13 16:25:41

Congrats on the BFPs! Hope we get some more!

I don't know why there isn't more awareness of this happening. Certainly doctors don't seem to know it can happen in my experience.

I'd be interested to know how your due dates compare with your estimated due date after your 12 week scans. Please come back and update!

In the meantime, good luck and congrats again.

PurplePoppySeed Fri 11-Jan-13 17:32:36

On accuracy - I once had a false positive doing a test at the doctors, apparently that almost impossible, so I can only assume they gave me something contaminated to give my 'sample' in. Turn out rather than pregnant I had a very large ovarian cyst!

Age - 31 blush

Still keeping hopes up for more BFPs over the weekend smile

PurplePoppySeed Fri 11-Jan-13 17:33:39

Oh good idea, we should def do due date updates too, though I guess if we all get BFPs we an also join the September thread smile

leo16 Fri 11-Jan-13 21:01:31

So great to hear the good news! Hope there is some more on the way.

Thanks purplefairies, I guess I will just have to pay more attention for any signs at the moment.

MumVsKids Fri 11-Jan-13 21:08:13

Fingers crossed for all of you waiting for your BFPs smile

JellyBeanDavey Fri 11-Jan-13 23:09:19

Got me a FRER! And ill be testing tomorrow morning! Had a very queasy moment half hour ago, wasn't sure whether I was gona be sick or passing out. Anyone else get that?! Very strange

123234345 Sat 12-Jan-13 00:05:44

See you all tomorrow morning!

bluefreckles Sat 12-Jan-13 07:45:30

Hey everyone. Just come on to see two BFP's - congratulations! grin

I'm away at the moment and unable to test but needless to say, still no AF.

Girrafe/Purple - how many days late were you when you got your BFP and how many BFN's had you already had?

123234345 Sat 12-Jan-13 08:15:41

Another BFN for me! I'm off on holiday so see you all when I get back. x

Girraferama Sat 12-Jan-13 08:40:46

Hey blue I was about 20 days late! I'd done about 6-7 tests bfn, the most recent being 6 days before my BFP. The main thing that made me do another (because by then I had actually given up) was constant hunger and constant indigestion (on top of still being v tired). We have still been Dtd so I can't be sure if I'm very early from that or if the BFPs just didn't show before (more likely)

JellyBeanDavey Sat 12-Jan-13 09:06:39

A bfn for me again sad I had a choice between an Asda early predictor (which stated its measured at 12hcg) and a FRER (which didn't state at all) and I wish I went for the other cos I found out it only measures at 25hcg hmm I'm either going to look at peeonastick.com or order some cheapies. Have a doc app on wed but it's not my own doc hmm

JosephineMarch Sat 12-Jan-13 11:09:00

Hello all! This is my first ever mumsnet post, but I saw this thread and just wanted to reiterate what others have said - it's not over until AF sings!

Last Saturday I was at cd49. Tested once but was BFN. Was cursing my long, irregular cycles and pondering whether to see the doctor. Had some odd signs in the week (indigestion, sides of boobs sore) but sternly told myself it meant AF was on the way - and even allowed myself a beer.

Yesterday morning I was bowled over to get a BFP. Now wishing I'd actually taken the folic acid sitting in the cupboard! I'd advise anyone who's still waiting for AF to treat their body as if pg, because you never know!

bluefreckles Sat 12-Jan-13 17:32:18

Hey all. Well I've just got home and have some browny/pink spotting. Could this be an implantation bleed, even at this late stage?
It doesn't feel like AF. No pain...

Elektra83 Sat 12-Jan-13 19:34:32

Oh bluefreckles I came on here to see how you were doing! I think you should definitely test tomorrow morning! Or now

bluefreckles Sat 12-Jan-13 20:12:00

Just did another cheapie test - BFN... sad

Girraferama Sat 12-Jan-13 21:16:27

Don't give up blue!!

PurplePoppySeed Sat 12-Jan-13 21:43:35

Hi Josephine, that's great news, so we now have another vey late BFP.

blue - sounds like you should def see the doc as if you don't get a BFP, then something else is going on with the spotting? I was 10 days late yesterday when I got my 'proper' BFP but it was very faint on a FRER earlier this week (about 7 days late). I've felt preg since NYE - had so many symptoms, so have been getting BFNs every couple of days since then!

Jellybean - I found on the web that FRER detects anything over 5 whilst the others are 25 - think it was on a website ( but not theirs ) sorry cant remember where, but it was why I end up trying them again!

bluefreckles Sat 12-Jan-13 23:27:53

Think this is actually AF sad
Still at least I know where I am.now.
Onwards and upwards!

mrsstewpot Sun 13-Jan-13 08:44:28

Sorry to hear that blue. Chin up, get AF out the way, then enjoy all the dtd-ing! X

bluefreckles Sun 13-Jan-13 09:07:42

Def will mrsstewpot!smile

CrackerJackShack Sun 13-Jan-13 10:06:05

Ah bad news bluefreckles. My fingers were crossed for you. Ah well, looks like we're back in the same boat. wink

bluefreckles Sun 13-Jan-13 10:29:45

weirdly seems to have stopped this morning...

JellyBeanDavey Sun 13-Jan-13 10:45:28

Blue I hope it's not AF sad I got a BBFN this morning (birthday-big-fat-negative) sad I have ordered some Internet ones now but I don't think they will be here til Thursday sad which is after my doc app

girlindevon Sun 13-Jan-13 15:07:54

Can I join please ladies, as I have just seen my one remaining marble roll out of the door.

Two days late, BFN x 2, sooooooooooo many pregnancy symptoms but had MMC in September (first pregnancy) and am now convinced there's something wrong.

There have also been three second pregnancy announcments in our circle of friends in the last week, my parents mice have just sprogged and yesterday my MIL found a teensy tiny baby fish whilst cleaning her fish tank. Everything is having babies except me!

So sorry for those of you who have had BFN's xx

PurplePoppySeed Sun 13-Jan-13 17:02:51

Blue - so sorry about your news, if it is AF at least your are out of limbo, if it stops again maybe see the docs.

123 - enjoy your hols, fingers crossed on your news when you get back.

Jellybean - as has been said before, it's not over until AF.

Girl - I also had an MMC on my first pregnancy in november, I was in the same boat, really obvious and strong symptoms but not BFP until I was 10 days late. I'm also completely paranoid that this will go wrong, but I don't see any way not to be, good luck I know how you feel.

JellyBeanDavey Sun 13-Jan-13 22:42:24

Poppy - I thinking AF maybe warming up those vocal chords!

bluefreckles Mon 14-Jan-13 07:36:18

Mine was def AF, just a weird one! Will have to jump on another bus sad

purplefairies Mon 14-Jan-13 08:20:02

Another BFN for me this morning. I have to say I'm almost jealous of your AF, bluefreckles. At least you can look forward to a new cycle. I'm going to wait until I'm back from my holiday at the end of the month and will then see my doctor if no AF.

PurplePoppySeed Mon 14-Jan-13 13:48:33

oh blue, really sorry to hear that, good luck for next month xx

JellyBean & PurpleFairies - sounds like a good excuse to keep trying smile

rainbowbreeze Mon 14-Jan-13 15:57:37

My AF arrived this morning so back on the clomid for me sad

JellyBeanDavey Mon 14-Jan-13 18:33:18

Looks like AF is here hmm

Poppy, who said I stopped wink

Clomid? I've heard about this! I was going to ask my doctor about it. Anyone else using it???

PurplePoppySeed Mon 14-Jan-13 18:37:49

Boo to AF's

gringringrin to jelly

JellyBeanDavey Tue 15-Jan-13 10:33:05

I'm off this bus sad

PurplePoppySeed Wed 16-Jan-13 09:11:54

Oh no, sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for next month xx

Is there anyone left waiting? Sorry haven't been keeping up with all the posts.

purplefairies Wed 16-Jan-13 12:02:53

Well, AF arrived today on CD 49 sad Still, ten tests later I was pretty sure I wasn't pregnant so it's nice to be on a new cycle.

Had a total melt-down yesterday though and made an appointment with my doctor, which was this morning. She told me not to panic and that the late cycle might be due to some intense pre-Christmas dieting. She has now "prescribed" me 3 months of Agnus Castus, so will see how that goes (I live abroad and my practice is quite into alternative remedies, just in case that all sounds a bit odd).

Good luck to everyone with their next cycle!

JellyBeanDavey Wed 16-Jan-13 15:01:58

Blue go see the doctor! I did today and they are going to be doing tests at the start of my cycle and then 21 days in to see whats happening. My doctor is going to help me conceive (not literally lol)

JellyBeanDavey Wed 16-Jan-13 15:04:06

Aarggh ignore that blue, i'm not used to being on my laptop and your first message is at the top and i was replying to that haha im being a bit dumb blush

leo16 Wed 16-Jan-13 15:53:39

Just to update that's me out AF here, always next month! Just glad that I now know and hope its all back to normal.

Good luck to everyone still waiting or who will be trying again and congrats to those who have positives.

bluefreckles Wed 16-Jan-13 16:37:09

Hey all. Sad as it is sad I have left this bus and joined the 2013 Baby Dust Bus. I hope everyone still on this bus is either excited about the prospect of getting a BFP in February or already upduffed and glowing!

It's really been lovely sharing the trials of TTC and late AF's with you all. Hope to see some of you on the next bus!

PurplePoppySeed Wed 16-Jan-13 17:10:37

Likewise, good luck all xx

To Mrsstewpot, did you have a light period or IB, prior to being 17 days late???

This waiting for AF is sooo frustrating! All I get is BFNs, and convincing myself not preggers as back ache, dizziness and cramps have gone. Just random tight, sore and itchy nipples.

Now 15 days late! Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, can I climb into this boat too please?

I'm now 18 days late. Never been this late ever. Did a test this morning but still a BPN. Had PMS symptoms on Monday 13 May but nothing so far. Now got a dull ache in the lower part of my stomach. What's going on?

Same here confused

I was on the pill - stopped in Sep 2012 to ttc #2. The first 3 cycles were longer than my regular 28 day cycles (35, 32, 30 days). I then settled into my 28 day textbook cycles for the next 3 cycles (14 day luteal phase). The cycle before this was slightly longer - 30 days - however I had started spotting on cd28. This cycle is bonkers - I'm currently on cd33 with no hint of af!

Work was manic the past 2 months, so stress might be a factor. It's so bad, we only managed to dtd last Sat for this cycle - so can't even be pregnant (BFN yesterday).

FFS I just want AF now! Hoping to try the SMEP next cycle and bought some more OPKs and a basal body thermometer!

Hi Malteaser
Any news on your AF?

I'm, according to the internet, now due my next AF! My cycle average is 24 days, shortest being 22 days and longest being 26 days. I have had constant PMS since Monday but still no AF! I don't like taking tablets, especially if I am pregnant so I continue to feel rubbish all this week.

Sorry for being stupid, but what is and how do I work out my 'luteal phase?' Also, what is IPKs and SMEP? Does anyone think my cycle is too short to conceive?

The waiting for either AF or BFP is the worst part. If it is AF, then I just wish it'd turn up and get it over with....confused
