Just Shagging - JSers roll up for fred 12

(1000 Posts)
Kittenkatzen Thu 01-Nov-12 14:03:15

Oh, the other fred filled up all of a sudden! Oh well here's a new one....(horse feel free to replace if you want to be fred starter, just didn't want everyone in limbo!)

Fred rules;

1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
4. Thou shalt share wine and brew with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.
Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.
Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).
Viroid = This is you, dear poster. The reason for this is a closely guarded secret, known only to....er....well, nobody as far as we can tell!
POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit).
Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.
Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Happy shagging shaggers grin

I'm in! Thought about doing it myself, but then felt like I was being too eagerbeaverish, so left it.

Are we doing a roll call? I wasn't on it for the last one.

Just been reading the start of the last thread - had me laughing - 'filthbags'!

Welcome Ding & <waves> at tenton.

Oooh, you ladies can talk! Thanks for the new fred Kitten, I'm feeling sad that I've been here since no#6/7. Hopefully we'll both be off (and staying off for nine months!) this fred.

Kittenkatzen Thu 01-Nov-12 14:10:38

Okeydokey roll call then ladies - copy and paste into a new message and add yourself please smile

DingDongBelle Thu 01-Nov-12 18:25:19

Aargh. Stupid iPad keeps posting every time I press enter! Trying to write one post and it's turned into three.

DH in a mood about money. No Jsing for me tonight sad Is it time to get the Secret Weapon Knickers out? wink

Bearface Thu 01-Nov-12 18:30:45

Hello Brodicea and DingDong. smile

Ding Tell DH the whole economy is blown anyway, so not to worry and might as well get on with JSing - much more fun! (Sorry - could be making light of a bad situation of which I know nothing here. Apologies.) Secret Weapon Knickers sound great - like a super hero! I want some!

Bear: exactly what I said! No bad situation - I've been out of work for a while due to illness (v long story) but I have a pt job now and am about to become head of dept so after Christmas we'll be (comparatively) well off. Told him to js me to take his mind off it grin so maybe we are back on... And I told him that jsing with no more condoms means it's free didn't mention the astronomical cost of a second dc lol

DingDongBelle Thu 01-Nov-12 19:24:40

Happy birthday 33Pink! Did you test yet? Hope you got some lovely prezzies for your birthday smile

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 08:14:08

Happy Birthday, pink! Fx smile

Bfn for me today (ertd due today but absent and I've been really nauseous this week and didn't even want my wine hmm but nope. Ah well. Back to Fun Shagging for a few days before the SWI can begin!

MrsBri Fri 02-Nov-12 08:17:18

<runs in to talk to kitten>

Muse = epic last night. The little munchkin is clearly a really happy chappy which made for an awesome gig.

And we were standing 12 feet from Kate!

<runs back out>

countrybumpkin2 Fri 02-Nov-12 09:01:34

Happy Birthday pink!

Thats a shame ding hope ERTD doesn't come for a few days so you can get some fun JSing in!

<off to pack a couple pairs of secret weapon knickers for our first anniversary weekend away> grin

Bearface Fri 02-Nov-12 09:56:58

Happy birthday, Pink! Hope you have a lovely day.

Glad you had fun at Muse Mrs Bri.

Kittenkatzen Fri 02-Nov-12 09:59:03

mrsbri aww a little baby Muser already - bet s/he was rocking away in there, remembering the moment s/he came into being not so long ago....haha grin Ooooh what's Kate like irl? Brilliant show isn't it, did you have a good crowd? I want to go agaaaaaaaaain <wails>

Happy birthday pink!

ding if you're getting bfn's and yet still not wanting any wine then I think you should get yourself to the doctor...no, A&E...there's something clearly very wrong with you.... wink

Well I was going to do a yoga class at lunch today, but it's fully booked so maybe I'll head to the shops and invest in some secret weapon knickers instead! grin

Bearface Fri 02-Nov-12 09:59:11

p.s. Well done Ding on HOD job. smile

Also, glad you are up and running again Red.

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 10:02:42

countrybumpkin2 First anniversary? Congratulations smile

It's ok. We're not really in a hurry, I'm the laziest ttc-er ever! Ideally we'll catch around Christmas so I can settle into my new job and get Christmas out of the way. Plus, as I'm a teacher, if I fell in Dec and baby would be due Sept, I'd get the summer hol off on full pay before mat leave kicked in, so I'd stop working at around 7-8m pregnant and put my feet up Cynical? grin Thanks though. Even though I'm not desperate I have been symptom spotting and a bfn is still a little bit sad isn't it.

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 10:04:34

Bearface thank you! Means a lot and it's at my old college so really pleased.

Kitten you may be right! What is wrong with me?! confused Clearly some kind of medical emergency grin

MrsBri Fri 02-Nov-12 10:11:07

Kitten, our mini Muser was making its presence known during the gig...very crampy!! I did hold back on the jumping about though as I figured s/he may not appreciate it!

The crowd was the best crowd ever. Really happy and enthusiastic. Just awesome.

I wanna go again too...let's run off to a gig! :-)

Kate just looked lovely. Properly proud and loved up. She had a great time!

AndIfATenTonTruck Fri 02-Nov-12 10:20:02

Just had my coil out at the lovely hmm GUM clinic. didn't manage a shag last night (DH tired and leaving early this am... need to educate him on the rules grin I think!!) Off to treat myself to some secret weapons!!!

Kittenkatzen Fri 02-Nov-12 10:25:50

Haha yep prob best for the mini-Muser to hold back on the headbanging until s/he has neck control...or even just an actual neck grin envyenvy at Kate. Just envy. Count me in for running off to a gig smile

countrybumpkin2 Fri 02-Nov-12 10:27:30

Thanks ding very much looking forward to it on Monday!

I have also been symptom spotting and ERTD not due for another week or so. After all the "signs" I have seen I will be dissapointed if I get a BFN....probably will though!

Grannyapple Fri 02-Nov-12 10:51:35

Morning ladies....found you grin! Will add myself to the stats later this evening when home & on laptop.

Well only 1 day into the 2ww & symptom spotting already...have been feeling crampy (ov'd Monday for sure & dtd from wed thru to tues), had a headache all morning (I never get those!) & feeling a bit bloated today. But headache could be related to either lack of sleep (ds up twice in the night...& awake since 5.30am!), or might have start of a cold coming on??

Hmmm...it's gonna be a long 2 weeks me thinks....

frogchops Fri 02-Nov-12 11:30:11

Congrats on the job ding....

Gave DP the night off .... I'm hoping he remembers that he had a night off tho, cos I'm relying on a bit of jsing tonight. Friday night, no plans, its the weekend, its gota be on....right??
He did come out and say that a couple of nights ago I could've done anything and he would've been too tired....so maybe he is only human. (Secretly pulls a face) think I'm gona stick to shaggjng for fun as th Fred suggests I should be instead of obsessing about dates. Yeah right. Well see!

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 11:56:37

Cheers, Frog. I'm probably a bit selfish ttc-ing so soon after getting it but I don't care grin

Ertd just arrived. No Js-ing (fun or swi) for me today then. Boo angry. Retiring the Secret Weapons and reinstating the Man Repellers for a few days grin

frogchops Fri 02-Nov-12 13:22:45

Hehe, I wish I had secret weapons.... Although I have recently bought some new ones, so maybe they'll work (mental note to get them on later).

Don't feel bad about TTC, its your life, and of course these things can happen accidentally anyway ;)
(Another mental note to remember to take tags off potential secret weapons)

I'm getting period like pains today, which I'm assuming are ovulation pains.... And being as this is my first after the pill ill be happy if the signs of ov are this obvious every month.

BoyMeetsWorld Fri 02-Nov-12 13:34:57

Aha! This is where you all went smile

Please can you add me:
TTC for 2 months

Will post properly when not on work break!

Rockchick1984 Fri 02-Nov-12 13:39:20

Argh, Frog you have just reminded me with your comment about taking tags off - with a new boyfriend once when I was about 21, still at the stage of pretending showing that all my underwear matches, doesn't have grey bits etc, got caught out as the gorgeous new matching underwear set I was wearing still had the "Gel filled pads" sticker over my nipple!!!! Oh, the shame blush blush blush

frogchops Fri 02-Nov-12 13:43:49

Hahaha I just really laughed out loud at that. I'm in a pretentious stuffy training course too with lots of senior managers pretending that I know what I'm doing here. There's nothing like letting your boyfriend know you've enhanced your assets!! Thinking about it, none of my j derder matches. Most likely because my bums bigger than my boobs!! Haha

frogchops Fri 02-Nov-12 13:44:38

J derder?? I do know how to spell underwear, honest!

Rockchick1984 Fri 02-Nov-12 15:07:45

Lol, why do you think I need the gel pads?!? I've started buying all my nice underwear from H&M, it's just normal stuff but pretty colours and you get the bra and knickers separately so always able to get the right sizes. DH says its how he knows I'm feeling frisky if I get undressed and I'm in a pretty set rather than huge asda pants grin

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 16:27:34

My DH says the same! Mind you, he can optimistically interpret almost anything as the possibility I might be up for it grin

Ertd has gone after only one hour. wtf is going on down there hmm

Bearface Fri 02-Nov-12 16:37:16

Ha ha - you ladies make me laugh! When I was at work and knew I had a dreadfu day coming up I would always put on my 'happy pants' (pants with some kind of happy pattern) on before work and it really did cheer me up. When things were difficult I used to think about my pants and I'd feel better. Crazy, huh? I try not to wear cartoon character pants for JSing though - seems somehow wrong!

Ding - don't tell anyone but I'm a teacher too, although not working at the moment, so I know where you're coming from there with the timing malarkey. Good on you for getting it - hope you'll be happy there.

Rock - I love H and M underwear - need some new stuff now. And if I get a job I will definitely need some more happy pants!

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 17:09:39

Thanks, Bear. I'm pretty sure I won't be that happy as I have quite a job ahead of me. Don't want to give lots of details obv but the dept I'm taking over is a huge mess and needs completely shaking up. Nothing I haven't done before but still a shit challenging year or two ahead. So not perfect time to ttc but I've done it before so what the hey. smile

Can I ask what subject you teach?

Bearface Fri 02-Nov-12 17:27:15

I teach English. (Don't throw anything anyone!) How about you?

frogchops Fri 02-Nov-12 18:08:17

Well, the potential secret weapons are on.... I await the arrival of DP from work. (Crosses fingers that he hasn't had a bad day!!)
I havnt looked in hm for them, I might! These are only peacocks, but are frilly, Lacey and pretty. That's all u need surely!! Oh and errrr, I didn't buy the top. Blush!!

frogchops Fri 02-Nov-12 18:10:51

Oohhh teachers! Interesting. I've done my teaching degree too, but am not teaching now, I work with families in more of a education/social care role. Totally agree with that autumn term baby planning!!
(Realises I now need to watch my spelling, lol)

Bearface Fri 02-Nov-12 18:15:26

Sounds lovely, Frog! Definitely beats my cartoon characters! Best of British to you.

Don't worry about spelling - they'll be too busy jumping on me when I misspell something! grin

BoyMeetsWorld Fri 02-Nov-12 18:28:32

Oh bear you have my dream job (sadly got sidetracked from PGCE when preggers & have ended up in marketing!)

Ooooh may have to go check H&M out for undies! My boobs have erm 'blossomed' since coming off the coil & think they need treating to something that fits! ( DH may like it too wink). I also want a trip to Primark tomorrow they've got some super cute winter woollies.

Speaking of boobies...mine are sore & got slight crampiness in side. If you've got these types of OV symptoms does it mean it's too late to conceive this month?

Rockchick1984 Fri 02-Nov-12 18:36:24

Boy primark undies are fab too, but don't buy the satin looking ones as the elastic starts poking out after one wash sad

Bearface Fri 02-Nov-12 18:39:55

Oh I'm not actually working at the moment Boy but I'm applying for a job at the moment so fx I'll be back working after Xmas. It is a fantastic job and I miss it. crazy amounts of marking and massive fiasco with exams and government at the moment though

Annoyingly my 'k' button doesn't appear to be working properly so sorry if I do have any typos!

Sorry Boy but my boobies are always the same and never really hurt at all apart from nipple chafing when running so I can't help you there, but maybe someone else can. You're all making me want new undies grin

AndIfATenTonTruck Fri 02-Nov-12 18:43:39

My secret weapons are M&S! cotton boy-pants and t-shirt bras (non-wired, well, if I'm going to be pg all the heavy architecture is going to go in the storage drawer anyway!)

Just having a bath to get all honeymoon fresh (ahem) while DH feeds the small inquisitive one enough carbs to make him sleepy and then there will be a bit of snogging on the sofa to our favourite Friday TV... and...

frogchops Fri 02-Nov-12 21:11:49

Well, they were on, but due to titting about in them waiting for DP to notice and getting bloody freezing in the process, they swiftly came off and were replaced by pyjamas! Lol god I'm crap at this!

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 23:40:12

Ha ha I do that! I've got quite a short attention span and due to recent health bollocks I get tired really fast. Poor DH has, in the past, caught a fleeting glimpse of fancy pants as I whip them off and shove my pj's on, much to his disappointment.

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 23:42:54

Bear: I teach Performing Arts and Acting. Huge fun. I would have loved to do an English degree but somehow I've always gone the drama way. I like it although I'm looking to move into management eventually. Ive been off work for the better part of 2 years with various health stuff and am slowly getting back into the swing of it. You looking forward to returning?

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 23:43:16

Fx for you. Good luck?

DingDongBelle Fri 02-Nov-12 23:43:55

Sorry. That was not meant to be a question. I'm on the phone app in the dark and delirious with tiredness

frogchops Sat 03-Nov-12 00:36:14

Ooh performing arts sounds fun! I was primary, so a bit of everything.
I also get very tired really quickly due to health bollocks, you sound like me!! Clearly a bit more successful with the whole frilly pants effort tho!
Time for bed now as I'm also on the phone app in the dark and suffering post shag knackeredness sleepiness. ;)

Oh and for the record everyone who leant an encouraging shoulder.... Totally initiated by moi!! Result!!

DingDongBelle Sat 03-Nov-12 07:42:18

Woop woop for the Whoopie Making, frog! Have a shagging gold star grin

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 03-Nov-12 08:06:17

Hurrah frog! Me too last night lol though think I need to work on my tactics...romance here is officially dead smile

33PinkLadyApple Sat 03-Nov-12 08:50:33

So much for being preg by the time im 34 😞. She got me during the night 😡.

33PinkLadyApple Sat 03-Nov-12 08:51:29

Iphone emos dont work then. That was sad then angry

Rockchick1984 Sat 03-Nov-12 09:34:59

So sorry the witch got you 33 - but by your next birthday you will either be heavily pregnant or holding you baby, and won't even remember this birthday's disappointment thanks

Yay for frog initiation!!!

I think I'm still WTF cycle-ing, ERTD lasted a grand total of two days of insane heaviness (sorry for TMI) and has stopped again confused so going to keep JSing but I think it may be a few months until my body realises I'm not unwell any more!!

frogchops Sat 03-Nov-12 09:51:56

Completely TMI so I apologise, but today I've had cm reeeeally stringy, like about 4 inches stringing from me when I went to the loo. What stage of ov is this meant to be? Is ov over now?? Does it poss mean that the Dtd last night could've been too late?

DingDongBelle Sat 03-Nov-12 10:38:40

Frogchops: stringy pant snot is extremely fertile. I'd get him again today if you can for a safety shag smile

DingDongBelle Sat 03-Nov-12 10:39:49

33: boo to the witch. We're cycle buddies lol as she got me properly after a few days of hesitation last night. Race you? smile

DingDongBelle Sat 03-Nov-12 10:46:01

Rock: took my body a while to get cycling properly after all my health bollocks this year. Have you tried epo? I took a high dose capsule at bed before ertd due for a week when I was ttc DS. I've got pcos so my cycles are bonkers (used to be 130 days each sad) but epo brought one on and I conceived first try last time not bothering now as I'm too lazy

Since having DS I've been on a 35 day cycle like clockwork so haven't thought about it this time. But if ertd went away again I'd definitely get them out again.

Bearface Sat 03-Nov-12 12:17:42

Ding - Performing arts sounds fun. I often think about the Drama route but I have absolutely no experience apart from stuff I've done myself as part of English. Thanks for the fx - really need a job. Being at home is lovely and I'm writing too so getting lots of that done, but need some money! I also miss the people contact and the students too.

33 - sorry about ERTD. Fx for next cycle.

Boy - sounds good - happy JSing!

After ridiculously long ERTD this month I think I was ov really soon after as had major PS. DH is having lots of fun action this month!

Hurrah for Frog on initiating! Frilly pants seem to be the way forward. grin

frogchops Sat 03-Nov-12 12:25:46

Well the frilly pants weren't actually on. And the initiating involved no deduction whatsoever, I just rolled over, told him I wanted it and away we went. Does anyone else think that with the stringy snotty stuff I need to do the same again tonight. I'm worried about this, every other day, quality of sperm, pushing my luck business. ??

MrsBri Sat 03-Nov-12 13:00:38

Don't worry too much, frog. I got pregnant having had sex 3 days running, then not on the day of ovulation!

But just remember, you only have a 20% of falling pregnant, no matter how much sex you have. You could always do a kitten though :-)

DingDongBelle Sat 03-Nov-12 14:56:50

You only need the one, remember grin

frogchops Sat 03-Nov-12 15:10:10

I know I know, think I might be pushing my luck pouncing again, he's already shocked tht I demanded it last night...
Have managed 4 Dtd dates since last ertd although 2 were quite early.

Rockchick1984 Sat 03-Nov-12 19:14:45

Frog I'm not trying to put a downer on anything but are you sure it wasn't.... Erm... DH's pant snot? Our first month TTC I thought I was getting EWCM almost every day until I realised it was DH's love juice squelching out the next day sad Definitely keep going for it though in case it's not, but with you saying it was very elastic... Oh, and recent studies say you can't DTD too often as it doesn't seem to impact on sperm quality, so definitely go for it!

Ding thanks for the tip. Will try EPO next cycle if I need to take it before ERTD as the witch has only just left!

frogchops Sat 03-Nov-12 19:24:18

I wondered that Rock, but I do get it probably once a month...and it was definately errr attached to me, tmi!! Also I'd been to th toilet a couple of times before this and after the deed with no sign? I don't know, you could be right. I know I initiated last night but i think I'm too chicken wetting myself up for disappointment if I attempt it again.

frogchops Sat 03-Nov-12 19:25:04

Hahaha wetting myself, SETTING!!

Redshoes56 Sat 03-Nov-12 21:02:11

Hi ladies, I need a serious kick in the pants as I'm slipping into obsession. Crampy all day yesterday, and today spotting. It's too early for ERTD, but that's the whole problem - my cycle won't regulate, I ovulate late, have too short a luteal phase, and then upset myself worrying about it. Ugh.

This could be nice, about to get good news spotting. I just doubt it and my doc wants to me to go at it for six more months before referring me to a specialist. I might go mad by then.

Ok. Sorry for being quite self centered.

Maybe I need some lacy new under things to create some good vibes!

DingDongBelle Sun 04-Nov-12 08:54:54

Morning, Redshoes : I hereby deliver to you my first <Hooya!> smile

How many dpo are you?

Doctors have guidelines regarding how long you have to ttc before a referral, but my old gp told me (when ttc ds) that they are as flexible as your gp wants them to be. He referred me to a fertility gynae before we were even really ttc. I have pcos and knew it would take ages without help. My gp said what was the point of making us ttc and get nowhere when we knew i had this problem? He actually said "you don't need that heartache every month when we could help you now". When we got to the fertility doc, she asked how long we had been ttc and without skipping a beat, and before I could speak, dh goes "oh, about 18 months now" and that's why I love him So, we got a second appointment for clomid etc a month later. I was charting my first cycle at the time, mostly out of interest as i didnt expect to get pg without help, and my temps had been up for about 18dpo and so the day before the clomid appointment I poas and got a bfp! Dh joked at the appointment that it was the best fertility clinic ever - just sitting in her office had got me pg smile

Basically the reason I'm telling you all this: Controversial, but just lie and say you've been trying longer than you have to get the referral if you think you might need some help? Do you temp/chart at all?

Don't worry about being self centred: so much of the focus ends up on you thinking about your body and wether you can get pg and so on, of course you are thinking about (and need to talk about) yourself! And any excuse for new underthings is good by me!

Hth brew

Hooya Sun 04-Nov-12 12:35:15

Hello everyone! Not been around for a few days and I have missed loads:

Hello Ding and welcome <waves> don't think we've 'met' yet, happy shagging!

33 happy birthday and big hairy bollocks to ERTD! I'm only a few months behind you (will be 34 in Feb)

frog bloody brilliant news on successful initiation! Bet he was loving it too grin

Red sorry, I know the frustration of crampy spotting though I've had it twice now, once was a pg (didn't work out) and the one last week turned out to be nothing sad . I would say lie to docs or pay for further investigation if you can, please anyone give me a <hooya> if they think that's naughty!

Here I am on CD32, BFN but no sign of ERTD, stupid post-mc wtf cycle. Still shagging like something (twice yesterday, once today grin ) but would be nice if we knew what the hell was going on cycle-wise! <sigh>

Redshoes56 Sun 04-Nov-12 16:36:12

Thanks ding and hooya - <hooya> accepted! It's just been a rough week - hurricane, funeral - and now that it's all passed, I just have too much free time on my hands to overanalyze my poor body! I was already honest to my regular lady doc, who I like very much. I do think if I went back, she would refer me to a specialist, but she encouraged me to give it a little time since my cycles could still be regulating after coming off birth control. Something told me to just listen to her.

I am 8 days post today. Barely spotting (wouldn't see it if I wasn't looking). Starting spotting 7 days post just seems so cruel as it could go either way! I'll hunker down for a few more days before I make any assumptions. I wasn't bothering with temp/charting nonsense because I didn't want to go nuts - hence why we are all here! - but I did decide to check temps this month out of curiosity (I know, I am naughty). Good news there is everything seems to be in working order. I might hide all that stuff next month and get back to the spirit of JSing.

Happy birthday 33! hooya hope your cycle starts behaving soon.

frogchops Sun 04-Nov-12 19:01:48

Happy bday 33!

I didn't get that safety shag ding, .... Although I was good for nothing, soooo tired!! So I can't blame DP this time. Instead of initiating tonight, I've simply asked him if he's up for it tonight.... Lol. He said he'll see, cross those fingers ladies!,, this could be my last chance after ov, I'm sure the stringy stuff yday meant ov, although I don't do anything else to chart it. Anyone feel free to correct if u think I'm wrong!

frogchops Mon 05-Nov-12 08:39:24

Morning shaggers!

Day off today so I'm still lazing in bed!
After DP suggested 'well see' to my request yday, we got to bed and he said 'come on then, before u moan that I'm not up for it' lol.
Think I'm officially maybe in my 2ww now, well, I'm guessing. And I'm determined not to test before then (unless the witch turns up and in which case I won't need to:-/) so please all keep me same while I wait, and inevitably symptom spot. I'm trying, honest!

Morning all.
Taken a leaf from the book of Hooya and have been shagging everyday since bleeding stopped, although I am not actually JS this cycle, I have OV sticks & I'm not afraid to pee on them!!

Boo to the witch 33, sorry you didn't get upduffed pre turning 34.

Glad you're all ok post Sandy RedShoes, if you've got a problem with short luteal phase, like Ding says, I'd lie & get it checked out sooner rather than later as it can be a problem with ttc.

AndieMatrix Mon 05-Nov-12 09:01:40

Wow, I have a few days off and we migrate to a new thread and I miss way too much to catch up on. Could someone give me a synopsis?lol

Red Glad you're ok post Sandy. I agree with Horse about telling a little fib and getting checked out.

ERTD is 2 days late here with no pre menstrual signs so we shall see.

frogchops Mon 05-Nov-12 09:12:14

Ooh exciting andie, anxious to now how ur test goes!!
Horse... Every day, wow I've Dtd 4 times in the last week and I'm pooped!! Gold medal deserved!! Am rubbish at knowing which dates are good though, have just looked and it was CD 6,9,11,13,15,16....with ov I think on cd14/15 or maybe a day earlier. Means nowt to me,lol.

Happy Monday everyone. Sorry to hear about the witch making unwelcome appearances sad

I had a super busy weekend, but managed to get some JSing in last night. Our new tactic is to get it on in the lounge as we are sooo busy with the house renovation that bed pretty much equals sleep at the moment (unless we are off for a lunchtime quickie)

It is so interesting to hear that there are other teachers around here. My "real" job is in finance, but I teach private music lessons, and used to teach some HEd children with autism. I also spent 5 years teaching at a private theatre school.

I'd love to teach full time but the whole National Curriculum etc put me right off, so I teach for fun now, and spend my days in an office. The weekends are great as that is when I do my teaching, get to be a real mum with baking and cooking and fun things like that.

I have promised DH to stop obsessing about the whole TTC thing, and instead we are just enjoying the JSing, just like before I had the coil out. It's just annoying cos at the back of my mind I am sort of willing him to send the swimmers on their way, and hoping he is sending the best ones up there blush

frogchops Mon 05-Nov-12 10:10:47

Waves.... I'm the same with the swimmers, lol, I'm somehow attempting to suck them up harder than normal. I also complain if there's any traces on our bed sheets, lol...what a waste!! However DP himself even said I'd managed to retain most last night!, fx hey?? Lol....I apologise people, tmi!

AndieMatrix Mon 05-Nov-12 10:56:59

Frog That's made me laugh "suck them up harder" sounds like me.lol
Waves Happy Monday to you too. That's nice, that you teach for fun. I've considered being a tutor as I think it's important to impart knowledge but I agree that curriculum restrictions etc can sometimes take the joy away. I have total respect for anyone who chooses to teach as a career.

Just promised DP I won't test until next week incase I'm just having a crazy cycle.

frogchops Mon 05-Nov-12 11:55:48

Heehe, I'm carrying on like I'm turning my internal dyson on at 'that' moment! Lol.

Ah frog - I am doing the same! And chuckling away at the thought of the internal dyson smile DH is now making the post-coital cups of tea so I can stay in a horizontal position for as long as possible.

andie - good on you for having the resolve to hold off on testing.

Oh, and 33 - I was also desperate to get my BFP before I turned 34, but evil witch arrived on my birthday too - that was a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully our lives will be very different by the time we reach 35 smile

AndieMatrix Mon 05-Nov-12 14:34:27

Waves I don't know if my willpower will hold out. Watch this space.lol

hee hee - well, after saying about how I told DH I would stop being so obsessive about TTC, we popped to Boots today for a nit comb (oh the romance!) and I persuaded him to buy a tube of conceive plus! I pointed it out that it would enable far more JSing, and mean that his swimmers are well nourished and helped on their way. He gasped at the price, and suggested that for the cost it should enable some "Dutch door" action blush I merely pointed out that biologically, there is only one place the swimmers need to go!

AndieMatrix Mon 05-Nov-12 16:20:20

I don't think there's any harm in the occasional misplaced deposit. hmm

Oh, I should say that the nit comb is for the DCs as opposed to DH or me!

Hmmm....concerned that I am more keen to make sure no-one thinks I have nits as opposed to the placement of deposits! The joy of mumsnet smile

frogchops Mon 05-Nov-12 17:44:07

Reads posts since last online and pulls face at misplaced deposits ....not in this house!! Lol

BoyMeetsWorld Mon 05-Nov-12 18:17:05

Lol what is it with men & bum love?? I asked DH about his fantasies - thought if we need to JS like bunnies we may as well spice it up a bit. The only one he appears to have (or will tell me!) involves the good ole misplaced deposits? That won't get us upduffed!!

MrsBri Mon 05-Nov-12 18:27:24

My DH keeps saying he'd like to provide a misplaced deposit (excellent euphemism!). I keep turning him down!

Bloody men and bum love! Wouldn't want it up them though. Pah!

AndieMatrix Mon 05-Nov-12 18:30:34

I don't know. My DP originally told me he wasn't I retested in bum love (been there, done that etc) but now we're settled it's quite obvious he would like to misplace some deposits! Men.

frogchops Mon 05-Nov-12 19:16:08

Haha, I think they'd all love it. My DP doesn't insist on this but I know he'd go for it if given the green light, lol. He's attempted before when I was least expecting it. Lets just say, he's knows better than to try this again!!

frogchops Mon 05-Nov-12 19:46:21

Hahahaha DP has just come home looking tired. He said 'babe when we go to bed tonight, can we just go to sleep please?' Heehee. Made me chuckle.

AndieMatrix Mon 05-Nov-12 21:34:30

Babies. Babies everywhere! massively jealous of So happy for all my family and friends that are expecting or in the throes of new parenthood, would like to add my name to the list though.

sorry, just needed to get that out....bloody Facebook!

Redshoes56 Mon 05-Nov-12 23:57:40

I am sitting at my desk late laughing like a fool - misplaced deposits! Dysons! I love it grin

All is well here. No ERTD yet. Crossing fingers that she doesn't show, and if she does, that she doesn't show until at least Wednesday. Keep cycling, cycle!

Andie I only recently started feeling a bit terse at all the baby news and pics on Facebook. It's rather annoying, isn't it? The ones in Halloween costumes were cute, but if it isn't dressed like a banana or a monkey, keep it to yourself. Ugh.

frog you have done super well with initiating - fingers crossed for you now! Let the man sleep tonight. He's earned it.

frogchops Tue 06-Nov-12 08:00:53

Ahh Red, who's side are you on? Lol
I did give him the night off, but maybe its cos really I knew that ov had passed, and my chance had gone anyway! Is it bad that I'm not really bothered how many times it happens between now and af? Or hopefully not af?!

Hi all! Must admit, DH has confessed that he really isn't into the old bumlove thing, he was just shocked at the price of the conceive plus. (Phew!)

I literally jumped him last night. We were shattered after a load more work on the house and went to bed, reading our books. Lights went out and I thought I just didn't want to risk a chance, so I leapt on top of him, whipped off my vest and then he was well up for it. Doesn't take much with my DH I guess. And we didn't even get round to using the ridiculously expensive lube.

Chatting here is great - I think I'd be going up the wall obsessing about this if I didn't have somewhere to vent my woes and frustrations - thanks so much to you all smile

I much prefer misplaced deposits to the normal location, it just feels better (I don't have a foof like a cave, honest), although DH knowns we're not doing it any other way until we make a baby.

Arrrgh! Facebook babies. One of DH's friends was the first person ever to have a baby & we have fun seeing all the age inappropriate things they do (Visit to Santa at a few months old, Cbeebies live show at 8 months etc).
I put one picture of DS on my fb wall every other month & make sure that I have at least 2 wall posts between baby related shit.
The blog stfu parents is great, it takes all the worst in parenting on fb & puts it all together, many pictures of baby shit & graphic labour shots.

Hurrah for jumping waves!!

Is sex everyday better or worse than sex everyother day?

AndIfATenTonTruck Tue 06-Nov-12 13:25:29

cd13 here and only managed two shags so far aaargh. Our issue is that we don't have bedroom doors due to work we have been doing on the house. And my dad is staying for a few days to help with the house.

Will have to jump DH tonight though otherwise we will be below EOD average.

TenTon, I've just got your username!!!! grin
Have you got another room with a door you can do it in?

Bearface Tue 06-Nov-12 13:29:17

Crikey! What a turn the conversation has taken! But I suppose it isn't called 'JS' for nothing, eh?

Really no to misplaced deposits from me - it's made for one direction only I feel (the movement, not the band!), but I guess it's a personal thing.

I generally don't mind FB baby stuff - it's just that sometimes unfortunately the timing is not great and when I'm feeling a bit down there seems to be tonnes of the stuff on there and everyone seems to be upduffed, or maybe I just notice it more?

I agree with Waves about the chatting - thanks everyone. smile

AndieMatrix Tue 06-Nov-12 13:44:02

Bear I'm on your wavelength about Facebook. Most days I'm like "aww, cute baby" but on a bad day it's like I can't escape them.

Horse That blog is killing me! grin

Waves It is nice to know that you're in the same bag of crazy as other people sometimes.

TenTon What about the bathroom??

Oh bear you just made me laugh out loud at my desk at the thought of your fanjo being reserved for the members of a particular band!

In terms of the regularity, there was some myth that JSing too much decreases the chances, but in normal healthy swimmers, apparently it is a case of the more the better. But, for everything you read on t'internet, there is something to contradict it. I am still trying to wipe the discovery of the fact that saliva eats sperm from my mind and in any case completely ignoring it

We are having so much work done on the house (or at least, doing it ourselves as much as possible), I am trying to grab every opportunity to get it on, otherwise we are likely to spend the next 12 months sleeping and having no luck with the babymaking thing at all.

Good luck with the jumping tenton grin

Bearface Tue 06-Nov-12 14:13:26

Eek waves - it makes me feel all weird- they're so young! Gross! grin

AndIfATenTonTruck Tue 06-Nov-12 15:51:02

The bathroom and kitchen have doors but are rather echoey and I do tend to make the odd, um, squeak...

BoyMeetsWorld Tue 06-Nov-12 17:23:51

Loooove this thread smile

Horse I'm intrigued now. I've done many thinks dans le boudoir but Backdoor debauchement ain't one of them. Mainly because I supposed it would hurt & not get much out of it. Is it possible to orgasm that way then? (debating giving DH a little treat for all his sperm donation) blush

TenTon lol at the lack of doors!! Can't you just pretend there's a spider in the bed you both really need to find??? Or put up a Warning: Procreation traffic cone at top of the stairs?

AndieMatrix Tue 06-Nov-12 17:43:33

Boy lol @ Warning: Procreation grin
Re: back door action. Some women can orgasm that way, some can't. Same as vaginally. Enough lube and being relaxed will negate the pain factor....unless DH is particularly well endowed in th girth department. wink it can feel weird obviously. I personally don't like any 'deposits' left there because if the after effects. blush I think I've said enough....possibly too much.

frogchops Tue 06-Nov-12 17:52:42

Haha I'm laughing away at this traffic cone idea! And I know your question wasn't aimed at me regarding the back door party....but if you haven't yet tried thiswont me tell you to prepare well before giving DP this 'treat'!! .... From my own experience which was once (and never again!) it was possibly the most painful thing ive ever felt hurt and actually bought tears to my eyes. Dtd was over, in fact I wanted him no where near me, lol, quite a mood killer.

Hi Perdita <waves> - not seen you for a while, no?

Giggling out loud at all this back door talk and cones, but mainly because I was getting confused between back doors and tenton's description of lack of doors and creaky action!!! I'm guessing this is a crossover? Still made me chuckle. smile

Hi Bear.

Been busy with the whole wine'n'shagging thing grin

How have you been?

After total fail last month and ERTD arriving in the middle of a business trip to India, am determined this month will be the one!

frogchops Tue 06-Nov-12 21:12:14

So I gave DP the night off, (because he asked so nicely!) and have just told him it was only the one night and to fix up for later! I think he's more shocked that I'm suggesting this.
Although I'm sooo bloated, I feel like I need to pop my stomach with a pin! Have got heartburn too, which always gets worse when I lie on my back :-/

ChristineDaae Wed 07-Nov-12 07:43:28

Morning all, I've been away for a while waiting for ERTD to settle in. Congrats to any BFPs I've missed.
I have started keeping an eye on cycles for the first time ever, ERTD is due on Sat so fingers crossed it doesn't show!!

Bearface Wed 07-Nov-12 10:44:04

FX for you this month Perdita. ERTD in the middle of a business trip can't have been fun. Well, hopefully all will come together this month.

FX for you too Frog.

DH and I have managed every other day so far this cycle, but he was very tired last night and nearly didn't make it. Phew - glad he did though! Poor love must be exhausted.

Hope all is well with everyone. smile

Bearface Wed 07-Nov-12 10:44:47

FX for you too Chris.

AndieMatrix Wed 07-Nov-12 11:23:19

Someone Hooya me. I've become obsessed with prams!!

Bearface Wed 07-Nov-12 11:36:54

Delivering my first Hooya to you Andie! Give me one back if you like - I must have at least two Hooya-worthy thoughts a day.

Hooya Wed 07-Nov-12 13:33:46

Waaah I disappear for a day or two and I miss a bumsex conversation!!

I do enjoy that and other misplaced deposits, it is getting a bit annoying having to direct them all to the same location...

CD 35 here. THIRTY FIVE!! angry

AndieMatrix Wed 07-Nov-12 15:44:40

Cycle day 32 here Hooya I feel your pain.

Just looking at the "What's New" section on my TiVo On Demand function and found a documentary on conception and foetal development. Narrated by Courtney Cox. Interesting. Full of computer imagery of the goings on. My 3 and 2 yr old think it's about zombies. hmm

BoyMeetsWorld Wed 07-Nov-12 17:24:29

Does getting all spotty mean imminent AF & no bubbas this month? sad

DingDongBelle Wed 07-Nov-12 18:05:48

Evening, Shaggers! grin

Quick catch up as I haven't read the whole thread yet blush. I'm anti bumsex. Ouch and yuck.

Cd7. Although I don't need a hooya as I didn't know that off the top of my head and just had to look it up. About to start a crappy challenging new job so no time to think about ttc. Literally just shagging wink

How are we all on this cold evening?

DingDongBelle Wed 07-Nov-12 18:06:42

Ps: hi Andie, Chris & Perdi. Nice to meetchagrin

DingDongBelle Wed 07-Nov-12 18:07:04

And Boy. Nice to meetcha too grin

AndIfATenTonTruck Wed 07-Nov-12 18:25:01

nice to meet all new shaggers. I got in my third shag in 5 days last night. it was a very quiet one. with lots of snogging. I do like a snog.

Earlier in the afternoon I had attempted to donate blood but my iron level was too low. must get on the vitamins!

Bearface Wed 07-Nov-12 18:51:36

That never happens to me TenTon. My blood always hovers in the saline solution and eventually decides to bloomin drop so I end up having to give blood even though I don't want to, but have massive guilt complex if I don't. I know most people say it's fine but it totally exhausts me for about a week after and I'm quite small so a pint is quite a lot to me. Oh dear - rant over. Sorry - can someone Hooya me?

Glad for all the snoggy shaggy delights going on for everyone though. grinI'm busy trying to finish a short story that has raged out of control into a novella. Yikes!

Bearface Wed 07-Nov-12 19:00:34

Meant to say Boy - I only used to get spotty at ERTD but recently I have been getting spotty pre-ov (I think as have no definite confirmation of when it is yet) and spottiness seems to lurk for a good couple of weeks. This has only recently happened to me and I came off the pill well over a year ago, but it's highly possible that it's taken this long for my body to adjust hence perhaps the new spottiness. It starts too early for ERTD so I don't know what's going on - I just shove on some make-up and ignore it most of the time. Hope it's not ERTD for you though. FX.

DingDongBelle Wed 07-Nov-12 20:30:16

Proper not up for it tonight. It's too cold in this house to get my fanjo out sad

Will write a proper message in the morning. It's my birthday tomorrow so birthday shaggies for DingDong grin

Bearface Wed 07-Nov-12 20:49:18

Happy birthday for tomorrow Ding! wine

OrangeLily Wed 07-Nov-12 23:02:28

So we're a bit new to the whole shagging with a purpose thing and are not really sure what to do apart from the obvious shag.

Tonight we weren't really sure how long I should lie there for afterwards? It feels so strange not- not- trying to get up the duff!

We do however know that bum sex doesn't work!

frogchops Thu 08-Nov-12 07:54:53

Well that's a start orange!!
Have fallen a little big off the Dtd wagon, having Dtd on cd6,9,13,15,16 and am now on cd20....and havnt done it again since, I'm just too tired and if I'm honest can't be arsed. Know DP is the same...I mentioned it yday that we could have done last night and he just grunted in agreement! I def don't wana just do it to baby make...it also needs to be because we want it. I keep telling myself that it doesn't matter cos we've probably missed the 'egg' opportunity anyway, but then read about people conceiving on cd24,27 etc. confused!!!

frogchops Thu 08-Nov-12 07:55:51

Oh and happy bday Ding!! Xx

AndieMatrix Thu 08-Nov-12 09:04:10

Happy Birthday Ding Glad you've got the basics.l

AndieMatrix Thu 08-Nov-12 09:05:29

Silly thumbs!

I've been up half the night with a feverish 3yr old thinking "I'm crazy to want to do this again!"

Kittenkatzen Thu 08-Nov-12 09:35:54

Have been AWOL for a while, this 2ww has been dragging like you wouldn't believe so I've tried really hard to just forget about it, which has meant banning myself from MN!

Anyway CD25 today, which is the day AF has shown up for the last two months....no signs yet but not really feeling anything much at all to be honest. Wait and see then.

ding happy birthday!! Hope you have got lots of lovely pressies and copious amounts of cake grin

horse that blog is hilarious, will be reading that at my desk whilst pretending to work today!

frog excellent work on the initiation, sounds like he might be secretly loving it wink

andie have you tested yet?

On the bum sex topic I'm a bit meh about it really - DH likes it so i tend to let him have his way every now and again when I've had wine as a treat. I don't mind it, doesn't really do much for me though and like someone else said the ummm misplaced deposits are a bit offputting!

<waves> to everyone I've missed, hope you're all well smile

We must be due a BFP soon huh?

teaandcakesolveseverything Thu 08-Nov-12 09:59:15

Not been posting for a long time as reeeeaaaallly trying not to obsess, but given up on that!
Happy birthday ding!
frog you are doing so much JSing you are putting me to shame, why were you so stressed about it?! Fab!
I am not one to talk though, having read how much shagging everyone else is doing I am now worried that EOD isn't enough, but even that is a struggle, DH is knackered with work so the amount of persuasion he needs makes me the grumpy one! And you are right ding, cold fanjos and indeed hands and feet are not sexy!
Please someone say that EOD is ok??? I'm not sure we can do much more that that!!!
Hope that the witch doesn't pay you a visit kitten, for all the right reasons, I would be going loopy by now!

AndieMatrix Thu 08-Nov-12 10:02:25

Hi Kitten FX for the witch not getting you this month. Willpower is very strong and I've resisted testing as per DP's request (he doesn't like me disappointed, said if he could he'd ban me from ever testing and we'd just know when it was obvious.lol) may test this weekend while he's home. Careful not to laugh too much at that blog if you're pretending to work, I was nearly crying at some bits.

Bearface Thu 08-Nov-12 14:17:38

Tea - we are definitely dtd EOD. Haven't managed two days on the trot yet. Might have to up the stakes though next cycle if it doesn't work this time. Not even sure where I am in my cycle just now. <goes off to check calendar on phone> I'm only 6 dpo if I actually ov on 14th, but don't even know that for sure! (Yep, this is the right fred for me.) I think EOD is fine, but may just take a bit longer than ED statistically speaking I guess. As long as nothing else is up, it has to work eventually, surely?

frogchops Thu 08-Nov-12 14:52:51

Oh see, I'm not even EOD! It's been a struggle to Dtd the 5 times k have in 2 weeks. You are all putting me to shame and if I get a bfn this month I'm definately blaming our lack of Dtd. It's been a massive tho b for me to instigate most of the 5 we have done though so that's progress. One step at a time!! Huff secretly huffs at the sheer lack of shaggjng in our house although for the last two nights I havnt wanted it either so j can't just blame DP. Does anyone else go off Dtd after ov??

BoyMeetsWorld Thu 08-Nov-12 17:17:05

Don't worry frog we've only done about 6 DTDs too this cycle, though I'm (hopefully) confident they were at the right time.

I'm insanely stressed with work ATM though - and I've heard stress makes it harder to conceive? Does that mean stress in general or just being stressed whilst DTD? One way or another it's making me spotty & emotional so hard to tell preg/AF symptoms from stress ones!

We are def due another BFP on this thread soon!

frogchops Thu 08-Nov-12 17:59:01

Agreed boy!
I'm feeling exactly the same, apart from the spots...but watch this space!!
Have been thinking in the car on way bk from work about whether the symptoms in feeling (cramps, twinges, horrible backache, etc) could be due to anything else. Of course I know they could mean af, but I've never had this backache before when due af. Now I'm wondering wether its a uti?? Esp due to me not going to the toilet after Dtd this month?? Don't suffer with them normally, but then I always use the toilet normally. Anyone think this could be the case? Other than that I've noticed since after ov I've been quite dry, but today there's an increase in cm. I dont know how cm is meant to be after ov.

AndieMatrix Thu 08-Nov-12 18:28:48

Boy Stress can affect conception as it messes with your hormones. So it's entirely counter productive that we all get so stressed about TTC but we just can't help it!lol.

Frog According to my Fertility Friend app the pattern for CM post ov is Dry-Sticky-Creamy-Watery-EW (I presume with ERTD somewhere in creamy)

Rockchick1984 Fri 09-Nov-12 08:31:41

Morning shaggers, I've been gone a few days and you've all run off and left me sad I've had a brief catch up, so just to say the trick to bums ex is for the deposits to be left in the condom not up your bum grin I love a bit of bumsex but DH isn't all that bothered so it's more of a treat for me occasionally!

Andie what prams are you obsessing about? I didn't do any research before DS and have since become slightly obsessed not that I've got 4 prams shoved in a cupboard that I've since discarded and replaced, no no no I've not, you can't prove anything

Stop stressing Frog - not sure if I've mentioned before, but my DS is the result of one unprotected shag so it really can only take one deposit in the right place to result in a baby!

wavesandsneezes Fri 09-Nov-12 09:15:23

Hello everyone - been awol a couple of days due to a hideous cold. Spent yesterday in bed all day. Very rare for me, even when sick, so proper poorly.

We have consequently fallen right off the JSing wagon. Maybe tonight, if I can actually breathe/stay awake/contemplate the thought of anything remotely physical!

frog, my DD was the result of one very unintentional very drunken unprotected shag. I'd just discovered that my then DH had been having an affair. Too much alcohol on New Year's Eve and 9 months later DD arrived. (ExDH left a couple of months later, but that was actually a relief) Sometimes I think that obsessing puts up some sort of a psychological barrier, hence the reason we are JSing instead of thinking about OPKs, cycle lengths etc. Although we have invested in some of that conceive plus, although it has yet to be used due to my poorliness sad

Boy, the JS threads have been a bit sparse on sticky BFP's recently! I think we've had 5/6 BFP's turn into MCs, so we're all due a nice a bit of luck.

frog, last month we only dtd 10 times in the entire month & I still got a bfp, I know someone who has had sex with their wife twice in the last 5 years (v.unhappy relationship) and they have a 2 & a 3 year old...so try not to stress about it.

There's a moose mouse loose aboot this house, can't catch it atm & we're really distracted from JS as we want it out before one of us get ill (we know a kid who had really bad gastroenteritis after contact with mouse poo), I'm normally an animal lover, but this little bastard is annoying me!

What's everyone upto this weekend?

Rockchick1984 Fri 09-Nov-12 09:45:59

Horse I'm so looking forward to this weekend - we have a baby free Saturday and going to watch Steel Panther!! One of my favourite groups (and the lead singer isn't exactly unattractive... Yummy...) then off out drinking and hopefully drunken JSing the night away - we have booked a travellodge hotel for this very purpose grin grin grin

Have you got anything fun planned? How are you feeling now?

AndieMatrix Fri 09-Nov-12 10:26:38

RockChick Steel Panther \m/ Jealous. My current pram obsession is the Janè Trider Matrix. Janè have got brilliant safety ratings, the travel systems are one hand operations and they have a snazzy car seat which is both sit up and lie down!! I had a Janè tandem when I had my DD as DS was still only 14months and it was built like a tank but easy to manoeuvre. The Volvo of pushchairs.lol. DP is obsessed with Quinnys as that's what he chose for his eldest. Anyway, don't encourage me. please encourage me lol

Horse Hope you get rid of the mouse soon.

Our house has been full of germs all week and obviously I now have the lurgy just as DP is due home for the weekend. JSing hiatus I think. sad

AndieMatrix Fri 09-Nov-12 10:30:46

You'll appreciate this ladies:
Told DP I might be feeling too rough to DTD later and his response was "I don't mind if you just lie there, I'll mop you up after" Gosh, he's so romantic!lol

Oooh, Steel Panther! Have a great time RockChick, enjoy the JS although sorry that you may conceive a baby in a travel lodge grin

Andie! Hope you're all feeling better soon, glad DH is being so caring towards you!

This temping/OPK shite I'm trying atm is really boring, and it's bad because I'm actively thinking about ttc everyday. Looking forward to either getting bfp or ertd back to normal so I can get back to properly JS!
I have a kitchen full of (deadly) mouse traps, however thanks to the graphic novel 'Maus' I feel like an evil bastard for even trying to kill it.

wavesandsneezes Fri 09-Nov-12 11:31:35

andie being sick totally sucks, doesn't it sad

We are hoping to have our bathroom plumbed in Sunday, so DH is tiling all day tomorrow, and I am hoping for a hot steamy bath (to clear my nose as opposed to the romantic/JSing kind of hot and steamy) Sunday night.

I think I will be snuffling through music lessons over the weekend, and then curled up under a duvet. Not the most fun of weekends. Oh, and playing a big gig tonight, but that should be finished from my side by about 9.45 I hope!

AndIfATenTonTruck Fri 09-Nov-12 11:32:51

Gave DH last night off. Tonight is Friday/cd16 bubbles though!

DS was a one shot wonder, almost exactly four years ago. We'd only been together less than 6 months too!

Who's in the 2ww then? Shoot me, but just there is the one time on MN that I've thought 'ooh, a ticker would be useful...!'

Kittenkatzen Fri 09-Nov-12 13:40:11

I'm in the 2ww tenton, CD 26. Tested last night crazy , BFN. Obviously. ERTD due at some point this weekend. On the plus side it would appear that my cycle length might be creeping upwards again from 24 days silliness <touches wood> (not in a rude way you filthmongers shockwink )

thanks to all you ladies feeling poorly, andie arf at "I'll mop you up" grin

horse hope you catch your mouse soon, eek! We had one indoors a few years ago - DH was standing on the bed squealing like a girl while I chased it out!

Weekend plans, we are having an Ozzie Masterchef style mystery box evening with some friends - the boys are getting packed off to tesco and us girls will create culinary masterpieces with whatever they come back with smile

ChristineDaae Fri 09-Nov-12 14:21:20

horse oh no! I like mice in cages/balls etc but not loose in my house. I did have to go runs to a friends house once as he wanted to move out for a few days while the catchers were down but he was too scared to go into his bedroom in case it was there so sent me in for him smile
Pretty sure ERTD is imminent, due tomorrow. sad oh well, that just means I can have wine while watching xfactor tomorrow grin

AndieMatrix Fri 09-Nov-12 14:31:50

Kitten That sounds like hard work, I'm ok armed with a recipe and the right ingredients but I'm not adventurous enough for mystery boxes (ooh err)
Yeah, my DP has a way with words, nothing surprises me anymore.lol

Chris Why is it the men who are always scared of the rodents. I'm pretty sure the same situation as Kitten described would happen in my house too. We're both equally scared of spiders though and we get some big ones in this house (ooh err again!)

Bearface Fri 09-Nov-12 17:01:16

Hello ladies! Happy Friday! wine

Andie - your DP is hilarious! Made me think of a bit in the Vagina Monologues where the woman gets a bit ahem, excited wet, and it all gushes out of her until she fills the room and people are swimming in it! grin I'm sure that doesn't happen to you, but I love the way your DP thinks a mop might be necessary. Ha ha! Men!

I am totally scared of rodents as grew up in the big smoke and they are mahoosive there. No word of a lie, I once saw one that was as big as next door's cat. Ugh - I'm getting the shivers thinking about it now. I'm very scaredy of them. Spiders, no problem though. (Rolls up sleeves and looks hard.) Mice and rats and I'm a quivering wreck. (Peeks face out from under duvet.) Hope you catch it soon Chris

Get well soon Andie and Waves. x

livismum Fri 09-Nov-12 17:11:54

Hi ladies can I come back please? sad had mc confirmed at the EPU yesterday, I knew though as bleeding was pretty bad! No pain so grateful for that, been managing to carry on with work etc as normal!
So do I wait a month or throw myself straight back in to JSing?! Hubby won't know what's hit him! I want a sticky bean and I want one now!!

We didn't do it much at in sept to fall with this one (although it hasn't worked out) so try not to fret frog try and relax and enjoy all the extra action! DH works nights so I have to sneak back to bed with him during the day smile it's always clear what I want stripping off and jumping in to bed when I should be cleaning or watching tv

I'm thinking a nice BFP would be a lovely early Christmas present for us all (presuming we are all of course on his nice list) I'll get cracking on letter to Father Christmas now!

Bearface Fri 09-Nov-12 17:21:05

Hi livismum - really sorry to hear that. sad Hope you are okay. Really hope it works out next time for you. I don't know anything about MCs (never had a BFP) so sorry, can't help you with that. Welcome, welcome back though - Christmas pressies would be lovely for us all wouldn't it?

I was just thinking last night though that if I got a BFP now baby would arrive in mid-august so would be at bottom of school year which I wouldn't really want for them, but I guess a bubba is a bubba no matter when they're born and I'd just be ecstatic to have one! Oh the joys of obsessing! Iuse more exclamation marks on this fred than I ever have anywhere else in my whole life - ha ha!

Bearface Fri 09-Nov-12 17:29:48

Sorry in advance for the symptom spotting, but I felt a bit sick last night (DH said it was because I hadn't eaten in a while - I'm a teacher and often did a full day without lunch and never felt sick before). I also feel like stuff is well, moving around in my lady bits area below my stomach. It isn't surface level though - it's right inside. Maybe I have a bug (although I'm usually on the loo if I have had - got a fairly strong stomach and so it comes out further down for me) or wind, or maybe it's just nothing, but as I've never had a BFP I just don't know - has anyone else felt anything similar at all when they had a BFP?

Bearface Fri 09-Nov-12 17:41:45

And feel a bit queasy now too. I only ate something about an hour ago though.

(( livismum )), sorry it's been a tough year on you ttc. 'Glad' it was a painless mc, but really sorry to see you back here.
I'm throwing myself back into it, I want a sticky bean NOW, I guess there wouldn't be any harm in you trying again so soon....and from a really morbid, horrible, worst case, point of view, 3 mc's in a row & you'll be able to get investigated.

Hospital letter confirming the date of my 12wk scan came through earlier, thought I was over the mc but it had me crying like a baby, spoke to midwife who was really sorry they'd not taken me off their books...having fish & chips tonight as I'm in the mood to cook now.

Bear, I felt like that for the weeks I was pg with DS before I realised! Fingers crossed for you! Although you know I have to <hooya> you now right? wink
I feel the same as you about the end of school year thing (DH is Aug born), but like you say I'd just be happy to have one!

Laid three of those neck snapping Tom & Jerry style traps for it, and it's eaten the peanut butter off each one, so now we're going the non-humane destruction method & buying poison traps. DH is a big, manly, man & he yelped like a bitch when he saw it running across the floor t'other day grin

shoots TenTon, no tickers for you! Ever!!

^Ticker wot says 'Horse is four hours away from dtd'

AndIfATenTonTruck Fri 09-Nov-12 17:54:40

grin nice one Horse!

hugs to all the returnees (and lurkers)

DH came home early this afternoon, I have been working at home today, so I jumped him grin

frogchops Fri 09-Nov-12 17:58:54

Near face, I'm feeling all of that too, with the odd cramping and twinges and heartburn. I fully sympathise with the symptom spotting so I can't tell you off!!

I'm here laughing away at being 'mopped up' simply because my DP has done this before too!! Lol I shout at him now after Dtd CID I'm sure most couples have a lovely romantic cuddle and fall asleep in each others arms, whereas my DP goes for the cuddling but then gets up and will throw my clothes at me like some hooker, lol... So romantic.

Am doing quite well in resisting the urge to poas, but I'm thinking about it daily!! My thoughts of having a uti are taking over my symptom spotting tho, with this pain inside my back, to the sides are very kidneypain like. :-/
Anyone advise on what pregnancy back pain is like, CID I'm guessing its not like this, and I'm guessing u don't get it this early!!

Bearface Fri 09-Nov-12 18:00:14

Okay - thanks Horse - well, I'll keep an eye on it or both eyes if obsessing Thanks for the Hooya too! grin

Well done TenTon - my DH is feeling poorly so not sure if we'll get any in tonight, but maybe don't need to - eek!

Have a lovely weekend everyone. x

frogchops Fri 09-Nov-12 18:00:20

Oh and my plans for this evening re eating drinking and hopefully coming home for some baby making magic!! magic, my backside!

frogchops Fri 09-Nov-12 18:05:07

Just realised my phone is terrible and has called bearface near face!! I'm sorry none if my posts make sense!!

Grannyapple Fri 09-Nov-12 18:13:38

Evening ladies....eh, caved in earlier this avo & POAS'd....think I might have v faint positive. Will test again tomorrow morning & then maybe with a digi on Sunday morning if tomorrow's is promising....

Kittenkatzen Fri 09-Nov-12 18:54:43

((*livismum*)) lovely to see you again but sorry it's here sad fx for a sticky one very soon for you

<whispers> congrats to granny grin will check back tomorrow for an update!

Arf frog at your DH chucking clothes at you! Mine normally trots off to the bathroom and luzzes a roll of tissue back at me....and they say romance is dead!

Happy Friday ladies

DingDongBelle Fri 09-Nov-12 20:38:51

Evening shaggers! Fanks for the birthday wishes grin We had a row over Skyfall (don't ask, we're losers lol) and didn't end up having any birthday shaggies. But BUT I've had wine, am now having a bath and the DPil's are away (living with them while we buy a house --which is cursed--) so tonight, Mr DingDong, might be your lucky night.

DH asked earlier how many times we had to js in a month to get pregnant. He suggested two or threehmm Possibly this is a result of last time when we decided to ttc and he geared himself up for shagsaplenty and then knocked me up first time. He was most pleased when I told him eod was the plan from here on in. Especially as shagging has been a big sparse in our house since he did diff me with DS as I couldn't shag him at all in my pg and then was poorly on and off after for about eight months. Poor DH. He thinks it's Christmas ATM.

Livismum: good to meet you. Sorry for your mc sad x

Everyone else: have we moved on from bumsex now? wink

DingDongBelle Fri 09-Nov-12 20:40:31

Frog and kitten: my DH keeps a loo roll in the bedside cabinet. I quite often know he's in the mood when I see it's been taken out of the cupboard and put in the side. Romance, eh grin

frogchops Fri 09-Nov-12 21:47:46

Haha, someone I work with said the same, that she knows its on when her DP comes to bed with the loo roll! Lol
I know its gona happen when my DP come to bed in his normal pair of shorts (old tatty football ones:-/) but doesn't tie the string. Haha, it's just a hindrance...so, if the strings ain't tied I've clearly been granted access!!
I think we've moved on from bum sex ding, although I find it fascinating that some people like it. Ouch is all I have to say on the matter!!
Just been for a lovely buffet tea altho didn't enjoy it as much as I normally would because of really painful back :-/
Good that the old Pils are out too ding, lights, camera....

BoyMeetsWorld Fri 09-Nov-12 23:19:45

Bedtime! I'm post ov (I think) & there is nothing standing in the way of bumsex! (except poss my pain threshold) grin

AndieMatrix Fri 09-Nov-12 23:33:36

thanks for livis Sorry about the mc. Get your cape back on, think sticky. (Very un-MumsNet-y hug)

It's baby wipes for my DP, if he's brought those into the bedroom it's on.lol
The witch has got me! Just as I'm getting ready for bed thinking "I'll test in the morning" there it is, nasty old ERTD. As if I didn't feel poorly enough. Pah!

Hope everyone's had a good evening. Here's to a weekend full of JSing (let me live vicariously through you.lol)

Redshoes56 Sat 10-Nov-12 02:43:52

Oh, livismum so sorry to hear about your mc. sad Hang in there. The idea of Christmas BFPs is really lovely. Hope Santa is good to us all.

Happy birthday ding! Shagsaplenty is my new fave word, by the way....

ERTD is still hanging around and more unpleasant than usual. Did someone say crime scene? Yuck. DH was more upset than I was by her arrival. His exact words: “I thought we nailed it.” Nailed it! Like getting pregnant is akin to taking an algebra test. He always makes me laugh. Speaking of math, it is looking like Thanksgiving week is going to be prime time for shagsaplenty. He’s already discussing “stuffing the turkey” and, rest assured, coming up with additional (and more horrible) puns.

What is everyone doing this weekend (besides, ahem granny, peeing on sticks and reporting back here)?

DingDongBelle Sat 10-Nov-12 07:46:22

Frog Camera?! Who knew you were so kinky wink

Andie boo to the witch getting you. I know what you mean about men and their competitive ttc. I think DH thinks its some sort of target-hitting sport. Like: sperm darts? Wouldn't be surprised if I get my bfp and when I tell him he yells 'one hundred and EIGHTYYY!' grin

Got a peaceful weekend ahead. I'm shattered after doing practice ofsted observations all week so just chilling out for me.

Managed to dtd last night grin but DH had to wake me up to do it as I'd fallen asleep. I basically let him get on with it while I concentrated on keeping my eyes open lol. So I get a silver shag star for doing it but like a b- for effort lol grin

DingDongBelle Sat 10-Nov-12 07:47:57

Sorry: the competitive ttc thing was for Redshoes. Blooming iPhone app not letting me scroll up and down lol xx

Grannyapple Sat 10-Nov-12 07:55:50

Morning ladies..just a quick update as I'm off to book ds's swim renewals then hair appt at 9.

Did another test & defo a darker 2nd line in test window...will do digi tomorrow to be defo sure but looks like I might have got my BFP'....dh getting kinda excited now...

DingDongBelle Sat 10-Nov-12 08:06:10

Yay smile Congrats Granny x

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 10-Nov-12 08:19:36

Ooooooh congrats granny! FX for you smile

Grannyapple Sat 10-Nov-12 08:41:18

Thx ladies...hoping it sticks!

frog was it you stressing about EOD? We dtd 4 times this month around ov & that was it (work & illness I territories plans after that!), so don't stress...as someone else said...it only takes one to make it smile

frogchops Sat 10-Nov-12 09:39:17

Woooo congrats granny!! And thanks for the bfp is possible if ur crap at shagging reassurance!! I just counted and we've only Dtd 6 times since last af. So I'm hoping that's enough.

Just also been reading up on tests, which one to buy etc. clear blue vs FRER vs superdrug blah blah. Basically I wanted the earliest, most sensitive and cheapest because I'm bound to waste one testing too early!

Didnt get that magic started lat night, purely because I ate too much! Lol
And errr ding kinky is the least likely word to describe me!! more 'little miss wait for DP to pounce and get angry that he didnt I'm rubbish!

Have a lovely weekend shaggers!

DingDongBelle Sat 10-Nov-12 09:43:05

Morning Frog it was the lights, camera that made me smile your dp is still getting used to you jumping him. I wonder what he'd do if he got home to find you all dressed up with a lighting rig and film camera all set up grin

frogchops Sat 10-Nov-12 09:49:48

Oh my, he'd run straight back out I think. and I'm not sure he'd come back! he's not the kinkiestt either! God we sound like a right George and Mildred! I've taken the approach of not actually jumping, but just letting him know that it's on at bedtime, lol.
He even said (after all this not really wanting to admit that we're trying business) that he deserves a medal for initiating actual baby making sex. Pah! My response: shut up and get upstairs. Lol

MrsBri Sat 10-Nov-12 09:51:22

If you want sensitive and cheap, Frog, buy from Amazon or eBay. They are generally 10miu which is as sensitive as you'll get (FRER is 12.5miu) and a couple of quid for 15 or so! Cheap enough to indulge any POAS habit :-)

frogchops Sat 10-Nov-12 09:55:23

Thanks Mrs which ones imparticular on amazon??

Pineapple80 Sat 10-Nov-12 09:55:26

Congrats granny!! Hope to see you in the grads thread soon smile

MrsBri Sat 10-Nov-12 10:06:45

If you just search for pregnancy tests they'll be obvious by their cheapness! They're quite often One Step though. :-)

MrsBri Sat 10-Nov-12 10:33:51

Oh, and congrats, Granny :-)

frogchops Sat 10-Nov-12 10:38:02

I just ordered some of the cheapies....they said 2-4 day delivery, which I thought would be fine and keep me sane waiting just 2-4 days....but the delivery note says expected 15-19 nov....by which point af will prob be here!! Oh well!

MrsBri Sat 10-Nov-12 10:44:01

My always came next working day, so don't give up!

AndIfATenTonTruck Sat 10-Nov-12 12:09:19

DH has done something unforgivable. It's about the wine ...

We had a stupid little argument this morning, I was feeling really grotty with a cold and he had brought me porridge in bed, and I was not feeling excited about getting dressed and out of the house to take DS to rugby tots, so asked him if he would do it. He went into a big strop (later found out he had also just been told about a problem at work that was going to fall to him to fix, remotely via the computer luckily) and walked out of the house. At the same time, DS was as ever expressing a preference for daddy to take him, so when H stropped past him and slammed the door, poor boy was really upset. "Daddy's forgotten me, waaaaaahhh."

Here's the thing, though. We got back from rugby and DH has taken it upon himself to remove all the wine and beer from the house. He has hidden it somewhere and I don't know where it is! He says we are being irresponsible by having a bottle of wine every other night when we have so much to do in the house, and ttc as well.

I don't know whether to be amused and pleased he is taking it seriously, or pissed off that he just decided without having a discussion about it. I do know that I am keeping my powder dry until the end of this week when he has two nights out planned. If he drinks then, I'll be properly annoyed.

Anyway, booze helps conception, up to a point. And after the big neurological stuff is built in the first trimester, a bit of booze does no harm at all. I had a small glass of red or a nice dark ale every other night (ish) when pg with DS. Avoided anything distilled, though.

DingDongBelle Sat 10-Nov-12 17:43:26

Leave the bastard grin

If my Dh hid the wine I think I'd be a widow...

Have you got something else of his you could ransom for return of the tipples? I'd suggest a shag strike but there's no getting upduffed that way. Has he got an Xbox or something you could hide under cover of "responsibility"?

Possibly this way all out war lies. or do I just get too much pleasure out of taunting my dh

DingDongBelle Sat 10-Nov-12 17:44:23

Hang on... Booze HELPS conception? Really?! Gimme smile

MrsBri Sat 10-Nov-12 17:51:25

It must do, dingdong, as I got upduffed in the month I drank more than the previous 4 TTC months put together!

AndIfATenTonTruck Sat 10-Nov-12 18:24:17

wine helps by relaxing you, making you receptive to horny approaches, and tipping the oxytocin/melatonin/oestrogen/namearandomhormonin balance in favour of conception.

To be honest we are so cluttered that it wouldn't be noticed if I hid something. I can't really go on strike in any way other than not including his clothes in the washing (he does the ironing, at least half the cooking, more than half the toddler bedtimes...) and shagstrike would as you rightly point out be counterproductive. I am just doing a grump, basically.

Last week he banned fizzy drinks (his dentist said so). I said fuck off to that one. I love a ginger beer. I may actually make myself drinks that look like g&ts and wine anyway.

Bronte41 Sat 10-Nov-12 20:06:20

Jumping in to join in the JS club...!

Had my coil removed last week and now part of your club! Slight complication is I'm 41 so older than most/all of you. Alas, we are JSers because I can't get bogged down with other stuff. Just hoping JSing works!

I have wine so feel part of your club already!

AndieMatrix Sat 10-Nov-12 20:28:12

Welcome Bronte I hope you're not squeamish or easily embarrassed cos anything goes here. grin

DingDongBelle Sat 10-Nov-12 21:23:56

TenTon: it's ONLY TRUE, isn't it! grin

Bearface Sat 10-Nov-12 23:31:41

Oh dear Tenton - I'd be very annoyed if DH did that to me. We've taken the approach that a couple of glasses of wine here and there won't matter and that I can't put my whole life on hold just because we are TTC and that includes drinking. I don't drink a lot anyway - 2 glasses of vino on an empty stomach is my limit and 3 with food these days, and I'm talking small glasses too - 175ml. Such a lightweight!

I think he's being a bit unreasonable, in my opinion, but then at the same time, you have to live with him. I would want my DH to discuss it with me first and not just impose his 'rules' on me. Personally, as you don't have much to bargain with, I'd have to let him know how upset I was.

Is there some kind of compromise you could reach maybe? Try to make a couple of bottles last a week maybe?

Bearface Sat 10-Nov-12 23:34:11

Hi Bronte - welcome. <waves> Don't worry about being a bit older - we're all in the same boat here. Happy JSing!

Bearface Sat 10-Nov-12 23:35:28

P.S. Hope you work it out with him Tenton. sorry keep forgetting to write stuff in my posts - stoopid brain

Redshoes56 Sun 11-Nov-12 04:02:22

Hi Bronte. Rooting for you! One of my girlfriends is 41 and she just had her wee ones in the last few years. With wine, anything is possible grin.

Tenton - totally unacceptable on DH's part. I think you need to hide his car keys, his undergarments, anything you can get your hands on, until the booze comes back.

Meanwhile, I have lost my DH to Angry Birds Star Wars. Hopefully the allure wears off before my eggs all fall out for good.

Redshoes56 Sun 11-Nov-12 04:05:12

ding thanks for sharing the article:

"I always advise women who want to get pregnant to take a glass of wine before they go to bed" - Dr Peter Bowen-Simpkin

Bless you, doctor!

Redshoes56 Sun 11-Nov-12 04:08:08

granny - reading backwards and just saw your "darker line." Yay! Fingers crossed.

Grannyapple Sun 11-Nov-12 08:36:18

Morning ladies & welcome bronte
red I'd be fuming if dh done that to me-he wouldn't like it if you did that to him, I'm sure!

Well ladies, it's confirmed...defo pg, dh is now talking about spreadsheets/budgets etc...beginning to regret telling him soo soon smile. But worked out I'm due 24/07 which us exactly 2yrs 5 months after ds...exact same age gap btwn me & my sis!

Will hang about here if that's ok so that I don't need to leave all on my own...waiting for more BFP's & good luck to everyone testing/about to hit 2ww. And happy shagging to those back on the cycle x

AndieMatrix Sun 11-Nov-12 08:38:43

Ooh, Granny how did I miss that darker line post? Yay! Let us know about the digi. Fx

AndieMatrix Sun 11-Nov-12 08:45:38

Cross post granny sorry!lol. Yayyyy, another BFP! At least you know DH is excited. grin I think it'd be me doing the spreadsheets in our house and DP running off to B&Q for paint and Ikea for "cute stuff".lol

Grannyapple Sun 11-Nov-12 09:17:04

Ha ha andie

Bronte41 Sun 11-Nov-12 13:01:23

grannyapple Congrats! Nice only bring here a day and seeing good news!

I can't imagine what unspeakable acts I'd subject DH to if he removed the wine from the house!!

Redshoes56 Sun 11-Nov-12 17:40:32

Off to a wedding today and almost thankful to be able to drink, as my family would be all over me with questions if I didn't have a cocktail in my hand! I'll have an extra one for you, granny - super big congratulations!

BoyMeetsWorld Sun 11-Nov-12 17:59:08

How long had you been trying for granny? It is so nice when there are BFPs - gives us all hope!! I'm almost certain AF is coming next week. Tried the vino tactic last night - certainly went to my head but I passed out lol not exactly a baby making winner for me!!

ChristineDaae Sun 11-Nov-12 18:03:20

Congrats Granny!! grin
ERTD arrived this afternoon, so wine and xfactor today! And must try harder/more often next month!

Grannyapple Sun 11-Nov-12 18:54:49

Thx ladies...yes red defo have a few cocktails for me!

boy this was cycle 5...& I used opk's this time...think I ov'd 2 days earlier than I thought by using them, so was useful to use them from that perspective. Dh says he 'felt' as if this month was our month, he wasn't aware I was using opk's til yesterday so he wasn't 'aware' there was 'targeted' shagging grin. But we were on annual leave when it happened so think the holiday theory works (more relaxed etc-conceived ds whilst on hols in Dubai).

Good luck & fx crossed to everyone else & big sweary words to the evil witch who got some of you..

AndIfATenTonTruck Sun 11-Nov-12 20:50:27

Thanks Bearface. There was quite a lot more to it than just the wine, and we had a big row and a long serious talk last night. Felt a bit emotionally bruised, but we are ok, and getting the cape back on after a bath (shared... smile )

Congrats granny!

Welcome Bronte! Are you ttc#1? Reading around the freds here, there are loads of women 40+ who conceive really quickly!

Sorry BFP was a few days late for before your birthday Granny, but congratulations!!!

Mouse is dead, mouse number #2 is also dead. Now scared of going into kitchen incase there is #3 mouse. FFS we live in a first floor flat! Why so many mice?!

TenTon, glad you managed to thrash things out with DH, hurrah for shared baths!

Hope everyone has a good week!

badfurday Sun 11-Nov-12 21:07:54

Hello, newbie here, very scared but we have finally decided to give it a go. Came off the pill last week. We are at the just shagging stage and see what happens, gulp, scary but exciting!

Kittenkatzen Sun 11-Nov-12 21:55:00

Congrats granny!! grin

Welcome to bronte and badfurday <waves>

horse good work on catching the mouse and his mate! Is your flat in an old building? We were in a first floor flat when we found the mouse I mentioned - it was a converted warehouse so there were loads of them around outside, tuned out they were getting in through the tiniest gaps in a badly fitted bathroom!

tenton glad you're back in good terms with DH - don your shag cape and get thee some make up sex going on grin wink

Well buggering bollocksing ertd is in the neighbourhood sad been spotting the last couple of hours so that's me out for this month. At least I got my 28 day cycle back though, every cloud. Pass the wine please.... <sigh>

Bronte41 Sun 11-Nov-12 23:26:25

Hi horse....this will be #2 for me but dh's first. I have a 13 yo dd from a previous relationship. Was single for about 10 years then met DH in Feb 11 and we got married this summer. Sometimes can't quite believe how much life has changed. I'd never have imagined I'd ever have another child.

Awww kittenk, sorry about ertd.

AndieMatrix Mon 12-Nov-12 09:10:59

Welcome badfurday grin

Horse Mice can squeeze through holes as small as a pencil so get the filler out!! Well done on catching the little pests though.

Kitten Booooo to the witch. I'm still wallowing in self pity about mine.

Bronte Does your DD know you're trying for a new baby? Will she be pleased about a new arrival? I have 5 older half siblings with a 9 year age gap between me and the youngest, my sisters (12, 15 & 16 years older) were like extra mothers. It was great when they hint partners and took me on holidays and days out. grin

No mice today! Have stuffed every hole bigger than a pencil (cheers Andie) with wire wool, bring it on myshkas!!
70's build Kitten, although we're surrounded by fields & parks and downstairs have cats,so I shall blame them.
wine for you!

Bronte, awww! It's amazing how quickly life can change!

Welcome badfurday!

What's everyone up to this week?

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 12:04:57

Hi everyone! Spent weekend decorating (again) and trying not to succumb to the grape. hmm

Welcome badfurday <waves>. Best of luck donning the cape!

Horse - glad you don't seem to have any more mice! smile My mum had a bit of a mousey problem in her house and the only thing we could do is make sure every hole was filled and we're going through the rooms at the moment putting down laminate so nothing can get in via carpet, floorboards, etc. It's difficult to get every hole though!

Bronte - that's such a lovely story about how your life has changed.

Sorry Kitten and Andie - hope ERTD does a foxtrot soon so you can get on with it.

Congrats to Granny! Bet you're excited.

I am having to resist the POAS because a) it's too early - dpo 10 and b) DH wanted to be there when I did it and he's away this week, so I am going to have to use all my willpower not to POAS. Hooya me someone!

DingDongBelle Mon 12-Nov-12 12:08:33

Hello Shaggers smile

Hi to all the people who I haven't 'met' yet <waves>

Well I've had a crap weekend. Some bastard stole my iPhone and Dh's friends Fil passed away so he invited him over on what was supposed to be shagging date night. So no Jsing for me this weekend at all sad most annoying thing is I was using the app to track my period and ov and now have no idea where I am in my cycle or when the witch is due. Boo to thieving pikey fuckers.

Talk ov pain to me girls. Saturday night and sun on and off all day I've been having stabby pains where I think my left ovary is. Took my breath away for a few seconds each time and once I even yelled. I've googled it and everything I have read suggests ov pain to be more like prolonged period type pain. Anyone else get this? No pant snot so I don't feel like I ov'd and I think I'm about cd10 of what is usually a 30-35 day cycle. Thoughts?

Hope all is well. Get the wine down you, witch-ridden ladies. It helps, apparently smile

DingDongBelle Mon 12-Nov-12 12:09:51

Morning, Bear grin

DingDongBelle Mon 12-Nov-12 12:10:28

Bloody iPhone ad on tv now. Resisted the urge to smash screen sad

DingDong, that's utter shite about your iphone, scummy cunts whoever took your phone...have you reported it to police?
I get the pains you're talking about...ov on cd10 of a long(ish) cycle sounds quite early, so I doubt it's anything other than your body going 'I'm going to mess with you, lolz'.

<hooya> Bear, although good luck at not testing before DH gets back, I'd be testing about now if I were you <Hooyas self>

We've been shagging like something this weekend, although I doubt it will continue this week, DH is working late & hates evening shags. Dammit, he doesn't realise how much he needs to make a baby in me.

GAH! Just about to make dinner & I spotted another fucking mouse. Bastarding bastards. angry

33PinkLadyApple Mon 12-Nov-12 17:03:50

Congrats granny! i'm hoping your Appley good luck rubs off on me this month! Sorry about your phone ding absolute bastard chavs.

Only just managed to read the whole fred and here's my rather late input...

bumlove = tried it twice as h2b was keen but both times I felt uncomfortable with possible smell / puff that might occur so was not a relaxed affair. He tried again a few months ago to slip it in smash my back doors in during wine fuelled sofa sesh and cos he was so bladdered, i said yes, this is the last time though cos I knew he wouldn't 'manage' it IYKWIM! ha ha. His chance has gone.

CD10 here and no ov pains to speak of but dull headache all day. DTD last night and will hopefully get another in before the weekend. I'm ashamed to say on this fred that I POA OPK S earlier to see if I am ripe and it was a fucking dud stick. Was a right mission smuggling it into the ladies at work with a cup from the watercooler too! grrrr. I'm on cycle 4 so just want to see if I'm laying eggs really.

My h2b only seems willing a weekends so we are going to do something about that!

going to change my name to 34pink..... now as turned 34 now. boo.

Here I am with new shiney name.

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 17:52:33

Thanks for the hooyas folks - Ding and Horse. I may need several more before this week is out, so come on, form an orderly queue! grin

That's shite about your phone, Ding - I know it doesn't really help but whenever I've had stuff stolen I try to imagine the Karma Queen (or King) waving their wand and changing the direction of the Karma so that the one stole your phone gets nothing but arse ache and misery from now on (maybe some pain too). I was only saying on Friday to DH how all the chavs in the world seemed to have come out on that day - it was chav central where I live (isn't normally). thanks for the friend's loss.

Nice new name 34. Maybe you could try shoving the POAS up your sleeve (that's what I do with tampons - hasn't failed me since school yet!) for smuggling and try to POAS without cup next time? Just a suggestion. smile

Horse - think you need to get the big guns out - have you put down some poison? When the pest man came to my mum's house he said that they usually live in groups so you hardly ever get one on their own (sorry to tell you that) so you have to go for poision in several locations often disguised with something they would be used to eating. My mum lives in a city so the guy put down curry paste in some rooms and peanut butter in others, so at least they had a choice!

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 17:55:38

Horse - you could do 'Come Dine with Me - Mouse Edition' and what would be on the menu at Horse's house, pray tell? Answer: Poision and death.
sorry, not spoken to anyone today, so obviously going stir crazy

MrsBri Mon 12-Nov-12 18:02:34

Ha ha...reminds me of the Eddie Izzard sketch about 'cake or death's. At Woman's house it can be cake AND death to the meeces :-)

Sorry Chris's impregnation rays didn't work, Kitten...is there a Euro gig around the day you ovulated? Worth a shot, ha ha!

Sorry to any other bastard ERTDs around. And to Ding re the stolen phone. Skanky twats. :-/

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 18:07:42

God - it's taking all my willpower not to POAS. I have to keep telling myself how upset DH would be if I did it without him. Hooya hooya hooya to self!

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 18:08:56

Not seen that one MrsBri but will google it - will take my mind off of POAS.

BoyMeetsWorld Mon 12-Nov-12 18:19:52

I was vaguely debating POAS. But I don't really feel preggers & only 5 days to wait for AF anyway. Not sure what the point is when your missed period would tell you anyway?

Def no shagging going on here. Horrible DH decided to 'suprise' me by picking me up from work. Which would've been lovely except he didn't tell me, didn't see me walk past & therefore I got on the bus. When he phoned, he went mad & is now saying I must have been somewhere else other than work?! Feeling v sad not sure how it's my fault!!

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 18:26:08

True Boy - guess I just really want to know.

Sorry you've had a bad time with DH - it's not your fault - you couldn't have known. Couldn't he just put it down to bad timing and follow you home?

BoyMeetsWorld Mon 12-Nov-12 19:07:48

How soon can you get accurate results POAS then?

Bear well that's what a reasonable human bean would do, isnt it. But not my DH. Who's still not speaking to me :s

MrsBri Mon 12-Nov-12 19:12:11

Maybe your DH should have a) told you he was there and / or b) kept a close eye out for you, Boy? That is reasonable behaviour.

I wouldn't look for / see DH if I wasn't expecting him.

Just realised I got 33 & granny confuzzled when I was congratulating granny on her bfp...is it too far past my mc to blame my baby brain?!
Talking of mc, since it happened my boobs are horrible fried eggs on a nail, they still looked good after having DS & breast feeding him, so I'm quite annoyed. And it means I have to bra shopping again.

boy, you can have a late period for any number of reasons (travel, sickness, stress etc) so it doesn't automatically mean pg.
Sorry you missed DH on the way home from work, hope he calms down soon.

Bear, atm the mice are dining on my really lovely expensive peanut butter (in traps), have killed one of the 3 this way, but the smart twats keep on eating the pb & not dying. Arses.
We've got some poison down, but we're going to get more tomorrow.

frogchops Mon 12-Nov-12 20:07:12

Bonjour ladies.... Congrats to granny!!
Sorry for all these ertd I keep seeing popping up. It seems that witch has been busy cooking up some trouble over Halloween!!
Anyway, bear BACK OFF from the poas .... And I tell u what, in 9dpo so I'm there with ya, lets hand hold, cos I'm going craaaaazy!!
ding sorry about those scummy bastards that took your gone, karma will get them!
horse I heard that meeses like chocolate, but then I wouldn't waste mine on a rodent!!
boy I think ur DP is being quite mean, I'm sure hell come round, maybe he just sulking that his suprise went badly.

Bronte41 Mon 12-Nov-12 20:45:39

Andie We've sort of vaguely discussed it with dd but I think she would be mortified if she knew we were trying! I do think she'll love it though. She's always wanted a sibling. That said, if JSing doesn't work, I don't think we'll do anything further. Besides, the JSing is fun!

I wonder how long I'll wait till I POAS this month. I need to know ASAP due to clotting issues so will probably make it to cd26.

horse We had mice in our old house. Vile horrible creatures. I used traps with peanut butter on them. As pb is sticky, they couldn't take it like cheese and not get caught. That caught a few but we still had them. In the end, we opted for poison. That got them.

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 21:16:43

Sorry folks- just got a bit overexcited with the possibility of POAS. My main problem Boy is that I have no idea when I ov and my cycles can be of varying lengths which is why I am not sure when to test, confused but I'll work it out. I'm not going to test until DH comes home anyway so it'll be later this week now. Sorry if I hogged the fred. Thanks for the support. smile

Here'smy hand Frog. smile

frogchops Mon 12-Nov-12 21:31:46

(Squeezes it very tightly) am getting cramps today so I think af mute be coming :-/.... I've also joined slimming world in a ridiculous attempt to think about something else!! Anyway.... Don't let go!! Lol

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 21:43:50

I won't. smile Am willing the witch away.

I joined the other one WW ages ago - I'm really rubbish at it, even though I exercise a fair bit. Must try harder.

Bronte41 Mon 12-Nov-12 22:31:01

bear I lost 49 lbs in about 13 weeks before my wedding with one hour of exercise every day and 1200 net calories. I have since stuck to the diet but not exercised. I've gained 10 lbs in 4 months - exercise is clearly the key for me. So now I'm back on the exercise but only 30 mins daily. Need to lose what I gained before Xmas is here!

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 22:36:01

Wow Bronte - you're amazing -well done on doing that. Total respect - that's hard to do. I go to the gym almost every day and I'm fairly fit. Did a duathlon the other week and done two 10k races since Sept. I just have no willpower although am trying to train myself. Thanks for the advice - I will see what I can do.

Bronte41 Mon 12-Nov-12 23:26:27

Oh holy crap! You are way fitter than I could ever dream of! I don't run due to a very old knee injury (broken patella years ago) but I have a cross trainer. It's been perfect for me. I watch rubbish tv whilst on it and time flies by. I'm far too self conscious for a gym

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 23:47:32

Oh no - I didn't mean that to be a big brag - really, I just about get round the races. I do it more for my chest because I'm asthmatic and it clears all the crap off. Sounds like what you're doing great Bronte but you shouldn't worry - there's tonnes of poseurs in gyms but also lots of normal people too. Only the younguns posture and look at each other, but they're not interested in anyone except each other. Anyway, your methid works so no need to change it. I just want to lose about a stone to a stone and a half because I'm small and it's noticeable on me. Might also increase my chances of TTC! grin

Bearface Mon 12-Nov-12 23:48:14

Gah - *method

Redshoes56 Tue 13-Nov-12 02:14:36

Hello ladies, old and new! (Well old just sounds mean. How about existing?) Greetings from Arizona, where I will be for a few days for a conference. I just keep getting further and further away from your time zone grin

boy men can be so childish, can't they? He'll get over it.
ding I agree with bear on the karma thing. There has to be karma; there just has to.

For those of you dying to pee on things, stay strong!

AndIfATenTonTruck Tue 13-Nov-12 07:22:39

cd20 and I have nipples like bullets. That is all.

Kittenkatzen Tue 13-Nov-12 07:39:07

Arf tenton that just made me lol on the train...got a couple of hmm looks

Whoever's DH it was being an arse (stoopid iPhone app can't scroll back to check names soz!) I hope he got a grip and calmed down a bit. Bloody men!

frogchops Tue 13-Nov-12 07:50:39

Moooorning..... I just woke from about 4/5 really vivid dreams , I even dreamt I got a bfp!! Was gona get up and test (I know I know. Blush!) but I got up for a wee in the middle of the night. Was that my fmu?? What's the importance of fmu and am I too late today??

wavesandsneezes Tue 13-Nov-12 09:37:23

Morning all - catching up after a few days in bed. Congrats granny fab news!

Hi frog - when is AF due? Might be worth holding off testing til tomorrow... I have no idea when fmu technically occurs. Everything makes me so confused although I remember when I tested for DD (now 7), it was at lunchtime, so I think the fmu is only so important really early on.

I am well and truly lying on the train tracks with the JSing wagon speeding past me. Been signed off work for the whole week with bastard tracheitis. Cough from hell, fever and no energy at all sad Me and DH tried to get it on Sunday, may have been Saturday, but everytime I coughed I kind of ejected him from my fanjo blush! Hoping for lots of BFPs to cheer me up now

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 10:32:43

thanks and brew to you Waves - hope you are feeling better soon. I know it sounds ridiculous but when I was ill with a terrible chest infection and I'd finished my antibiotics and they didn't work, I got some kyolic garlic in odourless capsule form and it really helped. Manuka honey (expensive though) is also meant to be great. I gave up milk and dairy for a few weeks too in order to stop producing so much mucus on my chest. I was so fed up of feeling ill (had been ill for about 7 weeks) that I went to a health food shop and asked if they had anything I could try and these things worked for me.
BTW - the same thing ejecting has happened to me before, both through coughing and sneezing. Sneezing was very funny . . . kinda spoilt the mood though. grin

Hooya Tue 13-Nov-12 14:04:29

Hello all!

Disappeared for a couple of days as my dad was visiting, and now no time to catch up! Huge congrats and a bfp happydance to granny and to any other bfps I missed! Welcome to bronte and badfurday and any other newbies I missed too <waves> happy shagging!

Big fat sweaty hairy bollocks to all of the following: ERTDs, mice, illness, skanky phone thieves, DH's being ridiculous etc etc.

I am now on CD41 and getting more and more worried about whether my mc has totally f**ked my cycle sad

Still, loads and loads of shagging has been done grin

Hooya Tue 13-Nov-12 14:10:23

Just read back a bit more, livis so so sorry for your mc.

I didn't wait at all, doc said go for it and that the only reason they suggest waiting is it's easier to date the pregnancy like anyone gives a sh!t

frogchops Tue 13-Nov-12 14:39:12

Ohhh. Cramps are getting worse today. Im sure it's a sign of af. :-( not due till Saturday but hurting none the less. I might test tomorrow and if its a bfn I'll be convinced I'm out I think. :-/
On another note, it's weigh in nite. I mite hve goodies afterwards. ;)

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 17:13:44

Hang in there Frog <squeezes hand tighter>. Go on Frog - if you've been good, then treat yourself to some goodies.

Good on you Hooya for all your shagging. <Awards Hooya a gold star>. Do you think CD41 could mean BFP?

Hi Red - hope Arizona is nice and warm. It's cold and miserable here.

I've been good everyone and after my semi-meltdown yesterday I have not POAS and am feeling very in control. Hurrah! Really looking forward to DH coming home. Also, I have finished writing my short story that I started about a year ago. Very pleased with myself and just waiting for people to read it now. Yay!

Hope everyone is well. smile

BoyMeetsWorld Tue 13-Nov-12 17:26:33

Oooh where's your story being published Bear? Can we read it?

DH is finally speaking to me again. After ignoring me all night (didn't even say I Love You at bedtime) & yelling at me this morning until both me & DS were crying sad eejit. He says he's just scared of my ex (DS's father)'s relationship with me....but what that's got to do with me not realising he was outside to pick me up, I'm not sure!

Well done to all those refraining from POAS. Isn't it interesting that loads of us are due AF at same time - dyou reckon we've cyber-synced our cycles? Lol

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 17:33:50

Oh Boy - it's hard to comment from the outside, so sorry if I write anything which sounds ignorant but it feels like he needs to sort himself out a bit and stop taking out his own insecurities on you. He's being really unfair. And making DS cry too? WTF? I don't know what advice to give you or if you're even looking for any, but maybe the other gals on here can help better than I can. I feel bad for you. Here - have some thanks

Also, I thought that about cyber-syncing too. I reckon you're right. grin

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 17:44:20

Oh yes - forgot. My story is on my blog. I'd be thrilled if you read it Boy! (and anyone else who wants to) I'm just writing for myself at the mo and seeing what sort of response it gets. It's a ghost story and I've published it in sections because I was still writing it when I published the first parts. I'm not sure if I can put the link on here. Do you think it's okay?

Bear, it's fine to put a link here, but not if you don't want someone in RL knowing your MN name (and that you're ttc), probably better to send link via PM (I wouldn't mind a read of it either, I'm always writing something & would be happy to give feedback).

Boy, glad DH is speaking to you again...although not so good that he's paranoid about your relationship with ex, just reassure him all the reasons he's your DH & your ex is an ex.
I'm really close with my most recent ex (no kids), it's a bit weird to explain it to people but DH knows he can trust me/ex.

I've lost weight!! I'm now a pound less than I was when I got pregnant with DS, hurrah! Good luck at the weigh in frog, although weds is still quite early to test if you're not due until sat...good luck!!

hooya, hope your cycle is back to normal soon & you're having fab sex.

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 17:53:19

Boy - I sent you the link. Bit scaredy about putting it on here just in case I'm breaking rules or something.

frogchops Tue 13-Nov-12 17:53:49

Oh bear, I'd love to read it, u could always put the link and if you're not allowed I'm sure someone will jump on it! Hadn't noticed about everyone's af due at the same time.... I'm due 17th.... Everyone else similar?
Thanks for the hand squeeze too bear, I'm out at fat club in a mo so this might take my mind off googling test results at 10dpo things. As I've said earlier somewhere tho I think af is on the way by the feel of these pains :-/

frogchops Tue 13-Nov-12 17:55:47

does a little impatient sigh at being told by both bear AND horse not to test so early!!

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 17:57:50

Thanks for the advice Horse - will PM you. Sorry - had a cross message for a sec there. Thanks - it would be lovely if you read it. smile Maybe I could return the read? Well done on the weight loss too. Must be all that JSing - it's good exercise! wink

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 17:58:53

Hey Frog - give me your other hand and then you can't POAS and neither can I. I'm with ya . . .

frogchops Tue 13-Nov-12 18:07:37

I work with some midwives and I asked one of them if I could have a word in her clinic re testing etc. she simply said 'is your period due' ...'have you missed it yet' and ....'just wait till you've missed your period and then test, simple' ....
No love! It's not that simple! I'm gonna friggin explode
Then I felt like a tit for asking.

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 18:19:16

Thanks Frog - I PM'd you with the link. smile Don't feel like a tit. I feel the same - think you've caught my meltdown from yesterday. Waiting is not my forte, but as DH reasoned with me the other day; if you test early then it's most likely going to be inconclusive meaning you're throwing money and POAS away, which may not bother you, but it will still be inconclusive for a bit, so it's best to wait. doesn't stop me googling like crazy, symptom spotting, rabbiting on to anyone who will listen about it and biting my nails down to the quick in anticipation, I know

BoyMeetsWorld Tue 13-Nov-12 19:28:45

Thanks Bear I shall have a good read in 30mins when DS goes off to bed smile I really admire those of you who write stories. I do a lot of journal / white paper writing...& used to adore more creative writing but never get the motivation anymore. Work wears me out!!

I know Bear it was a bit poo. Flowers much appreciated. I was mainly upset that poor DS got dragged into it - he's v sensitive. I've always been honest about my ex & have no feelings for him but I want him in DSs life & think that's understandable.

AF due for me 16th! See our dates are getting creepy similar grin

wavesandsneezes Tue 13-Nov-12 20:03:58

bear could you PM me the link too? It would be lovely to have a good read since I am off work.

Boy have some [flowers] from me too. It sounds like a horrible situation. Mine is kind of the opposite - my DCs dad hasn't seen them for 4 years now, and we don't even know where he lives now. All his family have nothing to do with the DCs either so I am lucky that DH and his family have embraced them so well.

AF probably due for me around 21st, although last time was a 6 weekish cycle so who knows. Frog I shall assist in the hand holding. Resist the temptation! Hope all went well this evening, and congrats to you horse.

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 20:17:25

Just sent it to you Waves. Thanks for reading. smile

Thanks to you all for your interest - I'm really touched. Hope you enjoy it. Some people have told me it's a bit scary/violent in places, so maybe don't read it alone in bed. I got a bit scared myself the other day - what an idiot!

BoyMeetsWorld Tue 13-Nov-12 20:30:12

Thanks waves . You see that puts things in perspective for me & is part of why I encourage DS's dad to be around...I always feel I'm lucky compared to situations like yours. But then on the other hand of course at times I think it'd be so much simpler if he'd just wanted nothing to do with us. & poor DH did completely take us both on as his, so it must be painful (ExP buggered off whilst I was pregnant & met DH online at 9 months do he's been around for DS's entire life)

Just read the first part bear ...like the building suspense! Also making me a bit glad I'm not a teacher after all lol. Am going to read some more in bed tonight smile speaking of scaries...has anyone been watching American Horror Story??

Bronte41 Tue 13-Nov-12 20:57:11

I'm cd18 today so think our shagging is done for this month. And, to be fair, it's our first month/week so not expecting much. I will poas on 24th if no sign of the ertd.

Well done on the short story, bear. My best friend is a writer and it's bloody hard work.

I had a meltdown at work today. Only a minor thing (couldn't access documents) but it meant I couldn't get any work done. Had a strop and now get to work from home tomorrow. Have a million clients chasing and soooo far behind but given how unproductive I was in the office today, I might as well work from home!

BoyMeetsWorld Tue 13-Nov-12 21:30:44

I sympathise bronte! They decided I was moving rooms today (no warning) so my computer was promptly unwired & I was left dithering about like an idiot half the day sad fortunately only 2 'clients'. Aaaaaall the time :p hope you have a productive day at home smile

frogchops Tue 13-Nov-12 22:34:08

Sounds like me.... Altho I usually don't need a reason to have
strop at work. It goes with the territory of working with a hunch of complete assholes!! I wish I could work from home :-/
Tomorrow I have a diary full of appointments so it should go quickly! Fx!

Bronte41 Tue 13-Nov-12 22:55:53

I am lucky I can work from home. My boss is good like that.

Ran into a former colleague in the lift today. She is same age as me (41) and had a baby about 18 months ago. Anyway, we are friends on FB but she doesn't post much. So I said, oh, you're back. She said 'well I am back again. Came back from mat leave but been off because I had a heart attack'. My jaw dropped. She is my age. She's fit etc. Absolutely floored me.

Bronte41 Tue 13-Nov-12 22:57:49

frog Hooe your day does go quickly tomorrow! And boymeetsworld, that sucks about your day. Hope tomorrow is better!

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 23:06:37

Thanks Boy and Bronte. Haven't seen American Horror Story but sounds like my kind of thing. Will investigate . . .

Boo to the knobends at work. Hope working at home is better Bronte.

Bearface Tue 13-Nov-12 23:09:08

Oh, didn't refresh page- sorry Bronte - meant earlier knobends not your friend. Blimey, how scary about the heart attack.

frogchops Wed 14-Nov-12 07:59:47

Thanks for the link bear, havnt had chance to read yet as had super bush night after I left here. I couldn't click the link though but maybe that just cos I'm on the iPad... I'll sort it out.
Anyway, how's the shagging going ladies??
It's been over a week for me now, I'm no where near the bloody wagon!!

Bronte41 Wed 14-Nov-12 09:26:52

Think we're all shagged out for the month now! I mean, I'll carry on so DH doesn't just think I'm using him for certain days but, well, meaningful shagging is behind us!

So now I wait and try not to misinterpret every single sign. I mean, to be honest, it's got to be highly unlikely to happen this month. My coil was only taken out last Wednesday. Admittedly, that was cd13 but, really, I'm 41, who am I kidding? Though, if it were to happen dh would think he was the most virile man on the planet. EVER. You know what men are like!!

Working from home is going fine so far, as you can all tell ... !!!

Bearface Wed 14-Nov-12 09:45:29

I'm not on the wagon, but that's because there's no wagon to be on, so to speak! DH coming home today. Hurrah!

Still feeling on and off weird - can't say I always feel sick, just like the very start of a stomach bug and then it goes and comes back again many hours later. Also, have terrible bum wind (sorry if it's TMI). Everything I eat seems to produce gas. Not sleeping that well (but could be because DH is away) and keep thinking I'm going to get a cold/sore throat and then it disappears only to return a few hours later. I know, I know - Hooya to self - this is symptom spotting in the extreme, but mainly my stomach feels terrible, like I need to have it flushed out. Feel really uncomfortable. Still haven't tested though. I bet I have some kind of virus. I'm now 12dpo.

frogchops Wed 14-Nov-12 12:22:14

Bear you are so good I was walking to a meeting earlier thinking, I'm 12dpo tomorrow, I'm gona poaic. Anyway I've just been to the loo and I'm sure my wee was pink. Not a good sign. Oh well, this report aint gona write itself :-/
Oh an re using DP on certain days lol.... My do probably totally aspects cos its been a week now and I just cba!! Whereas before I was making it happen even in my sleep!! Lol

wavesandsneezes Wed 14-Nov-12 12:34:22

bear just read the first part of your story and really enjoyed smile Oh - and I think your resolve in avoiding POASing negates the need to hooya yourself. (But I am secretly keeping my fx for you)

DH has recommended American Horror Story to me as well - that might be my plan for this afternoon - once I have written a work report. Sigh.

Have also got to try to summon up some energy for some music practise - have a couple of gigs coming up scarily soon (Saturday and next Thursday) and need to learn or write some new songs as, frankly, I am getting bored of the ones I am doing at the moment!

frogchops Wed 14-Nov-12 13:34:47

My DP watches American horror story. He reckons the last series was better but from what I've seen its just plain weird!! And a few eyes closed moments!!

Cheers Bear, will read the rest of it later, but really liked part one. Really didn't like Gloria, the cah.
Hurrah for the return of Wagon/DH! Does this mean we can look forward to you POAS tomorrow morning?

Good luck on avoiding ERTD Frog

American Horror Story; only watched half of last season as it coincided with newborn DS & I had to take a break as there was an episode about abortions/dead baby & I couldn't bare it in my emotional state!

We're having lots of JS here, but I'm really down today about not being pg. Have been feeling ok recently so have no idea where the down has come from...

Rockchick1984 Wed 14-Nov-12 15:13:11

Hi all sorry to have disappeared for a few days! I'm all confused at the moment, don't really have anyone I can talk to about it so hope you lot don't mind if I write it all down here.

Since having DS (now 20 months) I've been desperate for another baby. Literally, friends getting pregnant or having babies has had me crying about not being in a situation where we could have another baby. DH agreed that we could start trying a few months ago despite still not really being in the right situation (we need to move house before having another one, money is tight as it is etc). We tried for a month and I started talking to you lovely folks about it all. Second month was when I was unwell and ended up hospitalised etc so had 2 months off from trying so I could recover, and also my cycle had utterly messed up with being unwell. So here's the problem...

Since I was unwell there's a part of me that isn't sure I want another baby yet blush I was so certain, I was so excited when DH agreed we could try. Nothing has changed since, DS is still his cheery, cheeky self, me and DH are happy as always together.

Do you think I should stop TTC? We are not charting or anything, just shagging as and when we fancy so it's not necessarily something that will happen quickly. Or am I just scared as its now a reality rather than a pipe dream, and still doing the right thing? DS was a surprise, so never had to TTC before.

Apologies for self-centred post, my head just feels a bit shoved-up-my-arse at the moment. Hope all are well at the moment smile

Rock, it's a hard question, lots of things to bear in mind.

Last month when I got my BFP, DH & I were fookin terrified at the idea of having 2 kids, since having the mc it's made us both realise we don't think our family is complete & we want more than one, we're not massively well off & live in a 2 bed flat but we want another baby more than a bigger house.
We've never ttc either & it's been really hard on me...same as you when people get pg/announce new babies (even pissed off that Peaches fucking Geldof is pg again).

How do you feel about a bigger age gap?
What does DH want?
What are the pros/cons of having another one soon instead of waiting 2/3 years+?
How will you feel if in 5 years you're ready for another but you can't have one for whatever reason?

Without being you, it's hard to know if you really want to wait or if you're just having a 'holy shit more babies' moment!
You could always go back to 'not trying, not trying not to get pg'? JS without intent? (although then you'd miss us grin).

Or give up until next year, have a month & a bit to think it over with DH & see what you both want then?

BoyMeetsWorld Wed 14-Nov-12 17:26:26

Hi rock that is tricky. I have days when I mentally Opt-Out too. For all sorts of reasons. Mainly, I think, due to ExP leaving me whilst preggers with DS I think I've hot a buried fear that things might not work out with me & DH & I'd end up with 2 kids by 2 different dads & the life of juggling that ensues. But also - I'm actually just not a v maternal person. I adore DS but hated being preggers & wasn't over keen on the tiny baby years. When DH & I argue, or work is stressful or I panic about finances I wonder if we should be doing this.

BUT if you say there are totally no external factors making you rethink, that's tougher. horse gives some great advice. Why don't you stop trying for a few weeks just to check if you still feel the same for a prolonged time. Then you can reassess.

It's so much easier to try again in a few weeks than have a baby you don't 100% want (though of course I'm sure you would once your li'l bundle arrived!)

Bearface Wed 14-Nov-12 18:32:30

Hi Rock - I don't have any DCs so I'm coming at it maybe from a different angle to you. I think if I could plan my life without the intervention of Mother Nature and the old body clock ticking away, I would not be TTC until I was about 40 or so. I kept putting it off and putting it off and in the last year we decided we needed to go for it. I kept putting it off if I'm honest because of work - I really wanted to progress, but that didn't happen as quickly as I wanted it to. I also liked my life as it is, but we decided that we could keep putting off having kids forever and then it might be too late when we did decide to. Anyway, once we decided to start trying I definitely stopped having those thoughts and feel like it is the right thing now. But that isn't the same for everyone. Horse and Boy have some great advice for you. I guess all I'm trying to add is in my experience it's okay to wait and it's okay to have those feelings and it's okay to change your mind. If you feel like you might 'disappoint' everyone by changing your mind, don't mean to put words in your mouth or jump the gun here , remember that it's you who has to go through it all in the main and it's your body. Boy's last paragraph is totally spot on.

Bronte41 Wed 14-Nov-12 19:20:41

I also agree with boy's last paragraph.

Deciding to ttc is such a big decision that it's almost impossible for anyone to comment on what's right for you.

bearface One of my big concerns has been my career. I don't think now is the right time career wise but I'm 41. It's now or never. Plus, dh really wants this and I'm so lucky he does. But I work in a profession still struggling as a result of the recession so wonder what I'll have to go back to if I'm lucky enough to get pg.

BoyMeetsWorld Wed 14-Nov-12 21:24:33

Haha I'm just reading up on Naming Laws. Not that I'm planning on naming a DC something stupid, but I hadn't even realised there WERE laws about it. Check this out http://bbc.in/bPQ8GV there've been 2 kids in the UK named Superman on their Birth Cert!!

Rockchick1984 Wed 14-Nov-12 21:46:15

Thanks guys, I think it's more nerves about having two - far easier to daydream about it when not trying rather than thinking about the realities of how fucking difficult it will be grin

Have had a big talk with DH (hadn't told him I was having doubts before) and he made a good point - while I was unwell trying to sort childcare was a nightmare and he thinks I'm worrying about it happening again with a newborn (it was just a bad infection, so not anything recurrent) and I think that may be part of it. Think I've also realised how tough it will be to entertain DS while heavily pregnant, and I'm nervous about how I would cope if I got antenatal depression again.

Horse neither of us want a massive age gap, and since I've put my career on hold to be a SAHM it makes financial sense for us to have a fairly small age gap (plan is for me to return to work once all kids are in school).

Boy I would absolutely love a baby once he/she was here, I think I'm just over thinking things. We have decided to just not use contraception but not worry about getting upduffed and see what happens. I'll still be loitering a bit on here (too exciting to see who gets the next BFP!!) but I may limit the posting a bit and definitely staying off the more hardcore conception threads grin

Bearface Thu 15-Nov-12 08:41:04

Glad you managed to talk to DH Rock and that you've semi sorted it out.

retrotransposon Thu 15-Nov-12 12:29:53

Hello all - posted on the previous thread and then never joined in again despite checking mumsnet regularly like a right selfish cow.
Name: retrotransposon
Age: 34
Location: London
Any DC?: No siree bob
TTC for: 5 cycles (although one didn't count as I was away)

I am currently symptom spotting like a mofo. I'm on day 34 of my ~35 day cycle (ranging from 32 to 37 days) and have had various TMI things that could just be normal or could be pregnancy. The main thing is that my boobs, which always get a bit sore from ov onwards, are absolute agony. I gently hugged someone yesterday and it felt like I'd been punched in the tit. But it could just be normal PMS. Tell me to get a grip on myself, please.

AndIfATenTonTruck Thu 15-Nov-12 12:51:32

boobs sore = definitely pg. In my (one) experience.

BoyMeetsWorld Thu 15-Nov-12 12:57:39

I wish AF would get a move on & either appear or not (due in a few days). It could so go either way but getting those weird 'down below twinges' I tend to get before AF. Gutted. How's everyone else?

AndIfATenTonTruck Thu 15-Nov-12 14:23:06

well, we dtd on cd9,12,13,14,16,18,20, today is 22 and we started to go again but neither cba this morning... may be out for the rest of this cycle due to mum staying from tonight and still no bedroom doors on. will put the stag cape in the wash, I think. ERTD due about Tuesday but prob won't test then because my last 2 cycles were weird and could go up to 33/4 days. Que sera sera...

frogchops Thu 15-Nov-12 14:27:05

Girls. Now don't shout. ESP bear....

But yday my delivery of ic's came and I poas.
I hadn't used them before so I did it really out of intrigue. I must admit tht I didn't really read the instructions before hand and I did it and got a bfn straight away. Anyway I left it on the side, took my clothe off to have a shower and went to put it in the bin. Wasnt that bothered as it was only 11dpo. At that point I saw a faint line pink like the control one. I grabbed it and ran downstairs to DP. He saw the same line, grinned a bit and rushed off out to football (told me to do another to check!!)
Did another and got a def bfn (studied it for a good 20 mins!)
So, then I thought best to use fmu. Did another this am and another bfn at 12dpo. Wasn't overly bothered last night but was actually a bit sad this morning. DP was very positive though and simply said we'll try again this month. (For those who know the back story, this is good!!)
So there. I caved.

wavesandsneezes Thu 15-Nov-12 14:43:52

Frog but we were holding both your hands! How did you manage both a shower and POASing??

Really chuffed about DPs reaction though, so even though you had a BFN, fx for a BFP super soon smile

I'm still ill and starting to lose the will to exist. Everything aches and I'm still coughing, although not so much as before. At least it is distracting me a bit from the whole TTC malarkey.

My mum popped round to see me yesterday, and out of the blue said, "you had better not have a baby before you have finished sorting the house out, it wouldn't be safe" (we do have some fairly major renovations to do on the new house). I was a bit shock about her bringing it up, and just nodded and agreed blush.

Although, when DS was born I had no kitchen, and no heating or hot water and we managed, which my mum seems to have completely forgotten. DH and I just want our own baby together, and I think the prospect of a new arrival would inspire us to get on with the work on the house sooner rather than later smile

frogchops Thu 15-Nov-12 14:50:50

Did it with my feet waves, lol.
Yes when I said to DP he was off the hook....he actually said it wasn't a case of being off the hook. I took this very positively!! I told him tht actually I felt a bit sad this morning and he just said he was up for anothe month of shaggjng. So, things have turned. Still a bfn tho so :-(

DingDongBelle Thu 15-Nov-12 15:04:17

Afternoon, girls.

Have just had a frankly insulting pay offer from my new job so am angry and sitting next to poorly sleeping DS fuming away. I am supposed to be starting next Monday but have told HR that if they don't put me on a relevant pay scale to my quals I'm not taking the job. Grr.

Frog Yay for dp's reaction smile This will probably not help you but... When I got my bfp with ds I did a poundland cheapie the morning before a fertility appt just to be certain before I started any drugs. Got a bfn, went for a haircut and some lunch. Three hours later I got home and the cat was playing with the test on the bedroom floor. Picked it up and there was a faint line. I was all hmm and showed Dh. As hours had gone by we thought probably nothing. I did the other cheapie and bfn. BUT I have done a lot of poas in my time as I have pcos and so my period is very unreliable and I had to check all the time when I was younger and panicking about being late. I've never in -- hundreds of tests-- seen any sort of line even after days. So something just wouldn't settle. Anyway I hated my haircut so I went out that afternoon to another hairdresser to fix it and on the way home I thought I'd buy a pack of clear blues. Did it when I got home and faint bfp. At the fert doc the next day I was all grin and she did two tests with the little dip sticks which are what you get in an Internet cheapie, two faint bfp's. She insisted I was not pregnant as they were so faint and it was only with bloods that I got it confirmed. Got a bfp on a cbd the next day at about 20dpo.

The man at the early pregnancy unit who gave me my blood results told me you can't get a false positive, only an evap line which is not usually pink or a false negative. So this is like the opposite of a Hooya but if your ertd doesn't show up, poas again in a couple of days as if I'd listened to the fert doc or the cat hadn't been playing with my hpt then I wouldn't have known and would have started fertility treatment despite being already pregnant.

Sorry. I'm a poas-pusher today. I'm in the 2ww now for definite as we've js-d eod this week and yesterday and today I've been swimming in pant snot so fx. Especially if I have to tell the new job to take a running jump and just stay home and squirt out babies for a few more years smile

DingDongBelle Thu 15-Nov-12 15:39:22

Rockchick I have my fingers in my ears and am going 'la la LA' to myself whenever I try and think of the practicalities of having another Dc now. Ds is young, childcare fees for two, my new job etc plus I will probably get hyperemesis again and be nearly dead and all minging pretty sick for months with a toddler to look after. And I will have to have anticoagulants all the way through. And we are currently homeless trying to buy this bloody house.

LA LA LA! <fingers in ears at self>

If people really thought about the practicalities of having a baby or a second Dec, no one in their right mind would ever do it smile

DingDongBelle Thu 15-Nov-12 15:39:59

That should say second dc but the iPad thinks it knows better than me at spelling smile

DingDongBelle Thu 15-Nov-12 15:54:33

Waves mums have some sort of sixth sense about this I swear. My MiL said to me not two weeks ago how silly we would be to ttc again at the moment. No one IRL knows we are ttc. hmm

Love MiL. Ignored her entirely and js-d dh twice that night just to make a point smile

BoyMeetsWorld Thu 15-Nov-12 17:17:13

Awwww feeling bad for frog and dingdong today. Frog because, even though your DP's reaction is DEF a step in the right direction, it must be so gutting to have that moment where u see a faint pink line & your heart flip flops only to find out its not sad I hope what dingdong says is right & you could still be. Im mega anti POAS and I'm not even going to hooya you cos think you've had enough. Next month though, eh? Onwards and jigglybits upwards wink

dingdong how poo about work. Did they originally say a different salary to what they are now? One way or another, it's not nice feeling undervalued. That said, I'm on too much really for what I do & it's a lot of pressure - constantly feel I have to justify why I'm worth it. Different if it comes to being able to manage off the amount you're paid...

wavesandsneezes Thu 15-Nov-12 17:18:36

No one in RL knows DH and I are ttc either. Despite being poorly, must admit that DH and I got it on last night, and I am SURE it was a subconscious reaction to what my mum said smile. Understand where you are coming from too dingdong. I had very bad vom issues with both pgs, and spend pg2 hurling everytime I changed DS's nappy (there are just 17 months between DS and DD). Poor lad had to contend with me cleaning up my own vomit as well as the contents of his nappy on more than one occasion blush

And rock in terms of practicalities, another DC is utter madness in terms of our situation - new house which needs tons of work, crazy busy at work, and 4 DCs already between us. Add childcare costs into the mix and it is all a bit yikes.

Well done on sticking up for yourself on the pay issue dingdong and fx for a good response from HR

frogchops Thu 15-Nov-12 17:43:51

Thanks ding and boy, I'm not completely gutted yet cos I know its only 12dpo and altho feeling the signs, af isn't her yet. I'm neither pro or anti poas, but I did that yest just to play with my new toy really!! Lol
Am pleased about dps reaction though and I've got a feeling tht if nothing occurs this month, that I'll have more fun with him trying next month (this month has been tense at times!!)
Big shit about ur wage ding.... I'd be unhappy at that! Similarly the people I work for are about to take people on to do the same job as me, same title and everything, for more money!! I'm preparing for that argument when the time comes!!
Anyway, DP and I are going shopping tonight, followed by a Chinese! Hoorah!

BoyMeetsWorld Thu 15-Nov-12 18:39:47

Oooh now I want Chinese!! We're having hotdogs. Not quite the same. grin

Hi! Please add me too, i have been lurking for a while (cheering myself up with you lovely ladies all going through the same!)

I already have 3 children from a previous relationship, so i feel kinda guilty/selfish/neurotic for trying for another one when i feel like i should be happy with the family we've already got! This time seems to be taking soooo long im wondering if im passed it or its not meant to be?!

Name: Kiddingmyself32
Age: 32
Location: Leeds
Any DC: girl, 12, boy, 11, girl, 8 (i think DC means children, right? sorry im not up on the lingo!)
TTC for: nearly 6months and counting!

Bronte41 Thu 15-Nov-12 20:14:08

My boobs are KILLING me. I'm only 6 dpo so I'm clearly just being ridiculous!!

GaryBuseysTeeth Thu 15-Nov-12 21:11:30

Welcome Kidding! Welcome back retro

Well done on the talk Rock

Bronte I got my first symptoms 4dpo last month so you're not being that crazy. Small <hooya> just incase you are.

Ding, hope you get the money you're worth soon! Hurrah for the 2ww, fingers crossed.

Enjoy shopping & Chinese tonight frog, hope you get your bfp soon.

I've namechanged. It's h o r s e

frogchops Thu 15-Nov-12 21:16:08

I duno what's wrong with me. Fair enough I have just watched a program that ended with something sad. But not that sad, and besides it was only a program. But I've just been crying for a good 20 minutes. About nothing imparticular, I just felt so full of tears!! DP thinks its hilarious. :-/

DingDongBelle Thu 15-Nov-12 23:20:35

Fanks for the support ladies. It's not so much the actual amount of money. It's that there is a specific payscale and I should, according to their own actual policy which I looked up, be about point 11/12. They have offered me an unqualified lecturer spine point 6. I thought it must be a mistake as I am very highly qualified (for what I do) and so I called HR. They gave me some crap that every lecturer starts on that wage no matter qualifications. Which is in conflict with their actual policy. So I told them I can't accept the position on sp6 and gave them til tomorrow to think about it. It's especially annoying as I have been specifically recruited to rescue a course which is in a lot of trouble, and on that point would be leading a dept in which I would be the only ft staff member, and the line manager for about 4 other staff members, and the lowest paid person there despite being the most highly qualified. Am all angry

At least it will all take my mind off the dreaded 2ww. I'm terrible at this and will probably need a chorus of hooya's every day from now (a measly 1dpo) until poas-day. Must. Not. Poas. Early. Must. Not. Poas. Early...

Welcome, Kidding <waves>

Waves I'm dreading the vom. I was hospitalised a few times with ds as I got so bad I couldn't even hold down ice chips and was badly dehydrated. I had almost the whole pg off work. I literally ate nothing but Bernard Matthews turkey drummers the entire 9 months as they were the only thing that I could tolerate. HG reoccurs in 80% of hg pregnancies so I will be camping out in the docs for drugs with my bfp still in hand smile

frogchops Fri 16-Nov-12 07:54:06

Morning ladies,
Did another IC this am. Bfn. Surely something would show by now. Sorry waves and bear, it seems I broke free from your chokehold grasp and now I'm a testing maniac every morning. Dam those ic's coming in batches!!
Tested because I didn't feel any signs of af yday at all and she should be close. Thought she might've done a runner. Maybe not :-/

AndieMatrix Fri 16-Nov-12 15:18:19

Frog Put those tests down!!

Sorry gals, too much to catch up on to comment to you all. Hope everyone's enjoying their Friday. Any weekend plans?
Our nearest big Santa's grotto goes up tomorrow so I'll be taking my two little ones to see Santa arrive. Have a friend's daughter's birthday on Sunday so we're off to ThinkTank.

ERTD buggered off last night so DTD twice today, just because we could. grin

GaryBuseysTeeth Fri 16-Nov-12 15:40:07

frog, test every other day if you really have the urge to wee on sticks.

Mice poo in the living room now, the upside is we're palming DS off on relative most of next week to give the place a clean (and exterminate) so hoping I'm still fertile(ish) then, if not we'll practise JS.

What's everyone else upto this weekend?
Andie, sounds like a great weekend! Really looking forward to when DS is old enough for, well, stuff. <high five> on the shagging!

AndieMatrix Fri 16-Nov-12 16:27:39

Horse or should I now call you Teeth? smile Your new name is making me chuckle, keep imagining Gary Busey's teeth typing away. grin

retrotransposon Fri 16-Nov-12 18:54:49

GaryBusey, we had a mouse problem last year and we got one of those plug in things that emit some kind of offputting signal to rodents. I was sceptical, and it took awhile (resident mice don't leave if they have a nest, so you have to wait for the babies to grow up), but they eventually went away and never came back. It might even help to persuade visiting mice to leave.

Day 35 in the big shagging house. 15 DPO according to app, maybe a bit less than that according to me, boobs a bit less sore but no sign of AF yet. I have no way of procuring a pregnancy test until Sunday so just have to be patient, a skill I do not possess.

Bearface Fri 16-Nov-12 19:18:37

Hi Guys! <Rushes in> Had a hectic couple of days.

Frog! How did you manage to POAS when I was holding locked onto your hand? Well, you never know . . . FX for you.

Still no af for me - due today, but not feeling great. Going to test in the am. Will let you know. Think ERTD is on way. sad hmph.

Hope everyone else is well on this foggy eve.

Thanks also to folks who read my story - much appreciated. Thanks for the encouragement. x

Ding - I think you're entirely right with what you've said to new employer - that's totally out of order. Good on you for standing up for yourself.

Horse - not sure who Gary wotsit is, but will find out. I think I prefer Horse, but I will call you whatever you like baby, ahem

<dashes off for wine>

Bronte41 Fri 16-Nov-12 21:54:08

Good luck with poas tomorrow, bear.

I have wine and have switched off work emails for the weekend. It's our village Christmas Fair tomorrow so we are off to see what delights that holds then a visit to our local (with dog in tow). Can't wait. Had a really stressful week at work but finally feel caught up.

BoyMeetsWorld Fri 16-Nov-12 22:22:06

Good luck Bear

No AF for me either (was due today) but I have had sore boobs, cramps & spots for a bit now so fully expecting her. Only slightly encouraging thing is lots of CM which is unusual...but still don't like my chances this month.

DingDongBelle Fri 16-Nov-12 23:02:28

Someone Hooya me pls. Am 2 or 3 dpo and have odd crampy womby feeling reminds self that it's not even possible at 3dpo

Am bored and got to go to work tomorrow (^On SATURDAY^) despite pay issue still not resolved sad So am entertaining self by reading about how hpt's work. Sheesh I must be bored.

How is everyone?

Hooya Sat 17-Nov-12 03:20:55

Hello everyone! I can't keep up any more - work has gone crazy (14 hours a day crazy) so no time to post!

Frog bless you and your poasing! Brilliant about your DP's reaction and you will get the result you want eventually!

Ding have a <hooya> from me and job sympathy - good on you for sticking up for what's right I am a total b!tch in any work negotiations

Welcome kidding <waves> and happy shagging!

Sorry to all I have missed, will try to post more this weekend and catch up properly.

Well after 40-something days post MC my ERTD finally showed up yesterday, so here I am on CD2 again. Quite relieved really, especially as it should be out the way in time for dirty anniversary weekend next weekend!

I must admit, though I am most pissed off that this month's epic shagging did not result in another pg, a lot of fun was had along the way grin

frogchops Sat 17-Nov-12 10:09:11

im sure somewhere i said all symptoms have dissapeared. ....yes, and now replaced with more symptoms but im 99% sure they are af related :-/
im crampy and windy blush typical of af, the bitch.
Although ....this is first cycle after 5 years of pill so im thinking that with ov on predicted day and af right on cue today at 14dpo (btw i did test this am, bfn).....i seem to have returned back to a textbook cycle. not all bad.
eagerly awaiting bears results!!

Bearface Sat 17-Nov-12 11:05:54

Thanks guys - tested at about 4am today. Was wide awake for about two hours in the middle of the night and felt really, really sick, so thought I'd better find out for sure and got a big fat BFN. But I was due yesterday and still no sign of actual ERTD. Never felt sick with it before, but I've had some back ache. Quite confused now. Thought my cycle had settled down into 28 days but no, it's decided to do whatever it likes again. I hate being in limbo. I want things to happen one way or the other so at least you can then deal with it. Argghh. Still feel on and off sick. It can't be food poisoning though as I cooked it all and it was fresh and DH is okay. Very confused and a bit angry that body won't sort itself out.

Hope you all have a nice weekend though. Bad luck on having to go into work Ding - hope it goes quickly.

Welcome kidding.

Have a good weekend everyone. Happy shagging!

retrotransposon Sat 17-Nov-12 12:02:24

Oh, hello ERTD sad

countrybumpkin2 Sat 17-Nov-12 16:28:50

Hello everyone! Was back from my holiday earlier this week but its taken me this long to catch up! You lot write loads!

Hello to all the newbies and good luck to everyone waiting on poasing.

ERTD didn't show up on holiday and I thought I had loads of symptoms so I Poased when I got home and it was a bfn. Ertd turned up next day. Gutted.

Never mind back to JSIng as soon as the witch leaves!

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 17-Nov-12 16:40:25

Ok ok, so I (the self-confessed Anti POAS patrol ) gave in at 2 days late today & POAS'd shamefaced

Wish I hadn't. DH & I got a pack of 3 cheapies...from £land of all places so dunno what I expected. They're the kind that you PIAR rather than OAS & dip it in. Immediate dark single line so I figured game over. But 2 mins later came up with a 2nd, considerably fainter but still def there.

So now I'm in limbo til the morning to try again with a half decent test. Hmmmph.

DingDongBelle Sat 17-Nov-12 16:45:23

Boy, you have considerably more will power than me. Would have about twenty tests in my Tesco trolley by now...

DingDongBelle Sat 17-Nov-12 16:45:55

Ps:have you done all 3 cheapies? sad

DingDongBelle Sat 17-Nov-12 16:46:26

Sorry that should have been a smile

Stupid iPad

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 17-Nov-12 16:50:59

Hmmm no....maybe i shall try another one later! Do they still work in the eve?

Annoyed.com. Been thinking friday night probably last chance to js this month, then h2b decides to be a twat and have stupid argument just before bed. I did not want to as he was being a shit but i put on squeezem up bra a sexy chemise to js. He is obviously thrilled that he is apparently in the right as i have succombed like a good wifey. We get to the crucial moment and he takes it out and (ahem) does it on my boobs!!!! Soooooooo angry still. Feel utterly stupid and duped. Still going to try later though then give him hell for last night once i get what i want up there. Ha ha.

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 17-Nov-12 17:00:46

Ok just did another cheapie & got same result. Poss v slightly paler but I guess it's later in the day?? Still not 'conclusive' enough for me.

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 17-Nov-12 17:02:20

Ohmigosh pinklady did he do that on PURPOSE or erm in a moment of passion??? Either is annoying but the first way would be seriously vindictive if it was just to get back at you after argument?!

Hooya Sat 17-Nov-12 17:24:27

Boy exciting - here's hoping it gets darker!

PinkLady naughty DH! I'd be well f**ked off if DP did that!! Hope you give him appropriate feedback in due course!

Here just waiting for another strangely light ERTD to finish. It's not anything like what my periods were like before, but is too much to be anything other than ERTD, iyswim... Wonder if I will get light ERTDs from now on?

DP is really sad that I am not pg yet sad I feel really sorry for him...

Redshoes56 Sat 17-Nov-12 17:28:24

Hi ladies,
Back from the conference and catching up here.

boy - fingers crossed for you! When are you peeing on more sticks? Go splurge on a digi test.

rock I am late to this piece of conversation but I wanted to say thanks for your refreshing honesty. I can relate to all of you and I enjoy being here because of it. It’s easy to overthink things. Like boy referenced, I oft worry that I won’t have the same maternal instinct that other women seem to have – the ones that adored being pregnant and seem to know exactly what to do when their child is screaming, or crying, or vomiting a la the Exorcist. (Though in reality, I’m sure it’s difficult for all women.) World -- yup. If I didn’t have finite resources, I might have postponed TTC a little bit longer, too!

But at the end of the day, the idea of becoming a parent excites me more than terrifies me. There were tons of babies at the airport and on my planes this week, and they didn’t annoy me! Even the fussy ones! Huge 180.

Frog isn’t it so reassuring to get that kind of reaction from DP? My DH was a bit skittish at first but now has totally embraced the process. It has calmed me down considerably since I know we’re in it together.

Sorry about ERTD, retro and country. We will all be waving around our BFPs soon. We all will. I just know it.

pinklady what was he thinking!? Tell him he needs to focus grin

DingDongBelle Sat 17-Nov-12 17:39:33

Boy: 2 evap lines?! hmm

Would be conclusive enough for endlessly optimistic me smile

Time of day is not really that important. The difference is fractional and think about it: hcg increases all the time so in theory ought to get darker as the day goes on. But I get excited very easily so would have emptied the local chemist of sticks and be carefully comparing them. Mind you, when I got my bfp for ds I think it took something like 10 poas PLUS bloods for me to properly believe it! Fx for you.

4 (3) dpo. Sigh. Off for a bath with chocolate to distract myself. Will post again later smile

frogchops Sat 17-Nov-12 17:55:17

Oh my .... Pink lady I'd be fuming!!! Good nice to wait till you've got the swimmers benefit you complain tho!!
After I said earlier I thought af was imminent....she still aint here. Not even a faint line in IC, just bfn.
Was thinking about js tonight but I don't want it to wake her up and bring her on!! Lol
Ding, you sound just like me, with your impatient poas mentality!!
