New thread! Come on girls, lets all get pregnant!!

I bloody well hope so!!

Lolcbcblemonlime Mon 01-Oct-12 20:34:54

Count me in smile

winkle2 Mon 01-Oct-12 21:37:46

I'm sooooo tired but I've had EWCM today so I have to dtd!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Mon 01-Oct-12 22:25:25

Lovely new positive thread. Thanks winkle enjoy the shagging. Has the ewcm coincided with a positive on your machine?

winkle2 Mon 01-Oct-12 22:31:26

My machine says high. It will prob say peak tomorrow morning. Interested to see if the soy I took works this month. Apparently 77% of women get preg the first month they take it!

winkle2 Mon 01-Oct-12 22:32:31

By the way I saw scubastevie on the baby names thread. Looks like she's doing well smile

I'm fascinated by the soy, winkle. Do you feel any different? I'm too much of a wuss to take it after reading about causing hormone imbalance. :-/

Just DTD to hopefully catch that egg if we haven't already. Fx :-)

resipsa Tue 02-Oct-12 07:52:55

Ah yes, this is better! Amazing what a full night's sleep can do too!
Hope everyone has a good day despite the weather.
Also hope they find the 5 yr old in Wales very soon.

teaandcakesolveseverything Tue 02-Oct-12 08:07:20

Oooh, nice new thread!
77% get pregnant first time with soy? Theres got to be a catch there or else we'd all be doing it, and I've never heard that one before
Lets hope for lots of BFPs on this thread, I am hopeful for this month and the 2ww is going to seem forever as dh has been amazingly cooperative, not quite sure whats got into him or if its just a magic combination of a holiday and secret lubeing! Not sure if I'll feel worse when AF comes if I'll feel hopeful though so mustn't obsess about it. Really. must. not. obsess.

Lolcbcblemonlime Tue 02-Oct-12 08:18:15

Lets not obsess together tea! I'm not even at ov yet! Are you secretly using lube? Me too blush. DH is impressed at how horny I have suddenly become grin

I am blatantly using lube...we've been trying to work out what to call it. Straight up, no messing goo is one name! :-)

This cycle is the first where we've really tried: more sex and Conceive Plus! See what happens. Would rather not have AF on my wedding day, so would be useful to be upduffed!

I saw the news about that girl, resipsa. Just awful. :-(

Glad you feel better after sleep.

teaandcakesolveseverything Tue 02-Oct-12 08:47:08

Me too, secretly lubeing, no idea if hes twigged at all but its certainly working! His complaint before was that I didn't seem perticularly turned on when I had been acting like I was gagging for it and trying to seduce him for the last half an hour and not letting him read the paper like he wanted too. I somehow managed to restrain myself from telling him that I was actually making an effort to get this baby we both apparently want, and literally having to beg your dh for sex is the total opposite of a turn on in itself!
yup lol, obsessing is bad, I for the first time haven't worked out the date that AF will come, though as it comes closer I might lose the resolve. I can't test, AF turning up is somehow less upsetting than a total lack of a second line

woody17 Tue 02-Oct-12 08:49:06

Hi everyone - hope this is the thread that we all get BFPs that stick!

winkle I hope that the soy works

We've been using conceive plus for the first time nic - really like it! Hopefully it helps.

resipsa it's horrible about that little girl - I really hope that they find her.

So, started using CB digital ov sticks yesterday for first time - got a smiley - this is CD10 but it is a wtf cycle. So, how soon after the smiley do you ov? And when does my 2ww start?

teaandcakesolveseverything Tue 02-Oct-12 08:49:56

Knick, I just managed to avoid AF on my wedding day, it sadly stopped the honeymoon from being quite such a shagathon, so fx for a BFP to stop it for you!

winkle2 Tue 02-Oct-12 08:53:07

Still no peak but I remembered this morning that I didn't use the monitor last month as I ran out of sticks so that might be the reason no OV showing yet.

Nic - I was reluctant to take anything for TTC too but after a year I'll try anything!! Had a couple of headaches last week and a few extra spots but that could be anything and no necessarily down to the soy.

Tea - that was a stat I read but it might have just been from the girls who had taken it on the other board I sometimes read.

Just popped on to say hello to winkle, repisa and whenshewasbad grin

We were all hanging out on the April/May/June threads and then I got my BFP....and then I had mmc at the end of July sad

Just started ttc again over the last few weeks, since had to have erpc done and cycle after that was completely wtf! Hoping things are going back to normal a bit now, I'd love to get a BFP again before we hit 2013. Sigh. Anyway, no idea cos of stupid pcos whether i have actually ov this month but i'm on cd21 and we've managed to dtd 10 times in last 17 days so fingers flipping crossed! Winkle, I have also been winkling!

How are you ladies all doing???

weechops Tue 02-Oct-12 09:03:59

Marking my spot girls smile Hoping this is the lucky fred for us all. Af due tomorrow and I'm getting cramps, ah well. At least October is a long month so I might still get a bfp at the end of October!

resipsa Tue 02-Oct-12 09:48:28

Hi everyone. Well done winkle, your new thread has really injected some positivity!
woody you've asked the million dollar question. If I knew how soon after smiley it happened, I wouldn't be at work, I'd be selling the secret online to all the TTCers out there! General wisdom is within 12-48 hours with 36 hours being the most "popular". For what it's worth, both times I've been pregnant, we DTD on day of and after smiley. Hoping to get mine today too but on CD20 here!!!

resipsa Tue 02-Oct-12 09:49:46

LittleMiss so sorry, it sucks (was there in March myself) but hope you get lucky again soon. Oh, and me too!

Kittenkatzen Tue 02-Oct-12 09:50:44

here you are! thanks for the shiny new fred winkle smile

I'm also keeping one eye on the soy situation - if it's that good then I shall be giving that a go in the new year if necessary which it won't be as i'll definitely be upduffed before then

DizzyPurple Tue 02-Oct-12 09:57:54

Hello all. Mind if i join you? Ttc 18 months so far but ever hopeful! Well the days i've not given up anyway. What's the soy thing?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 02-Oct-12 09:58:48

That's a nice quick smiley woody congrats on that, lots of dtd for you then. I am on cd 11 today and haven't even started the opks yet (am trying to be more chilled out this month - we'll see how long that lasts).

littlemiss hi I remember seeing you we're back on the conception boards a few weeks ago, I'm really sorry about the mc.

redstrawberry Tue 02-Oct-12 10:03:07

<marking my place>

this seems like a much more uplifting and positive thread smile thanks winkle will be keeping an eye on the soy result too. Fx for your BFP x

Yeah, this seems like a nice positive thread, go winkle!

I found month after mc was kind of ok, I was up to my eyes in moving house, money stress and things happening in work (i decided not to take any time off after mc because i'd had loads off with hyperemesis). All the stuff going on was very stressful but it took my mind off stuff and i just had to get on with it. September was tough going tho... But here we are in a nice shiny new month and a nice shiney new thread and hopefully good luck for all who sail in her grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 02-Oct-12 11:53:56

To continue the positive vibe. Clearblue opks are still £3.88 for a pack of 7. Total bargain - no more squinting at cheap Internet opks for me. Although I will have to quit my 4 a day habit. smile

DulcetMoans Tue 02-Oct-12 12:56:34

Saving a place! Lets hope we can get this one off to a positive start, pg test positives that is!

Grumble. Wish I could use opks. Grumble. lol Ruining the positive vibe already grin 4 a day? That's quite a habit whenshewasbad, are we going to need a 12 step programme?? Hee

When...piss on 3 cheapie ones and a CB one first thing! Still 4 a day :-)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 02-Oct-12 14:38:29

Don't tempt me kNicker I am trying to be more sane this month. Still not poas (opk that is) yet am it is cd11

Kittenkatzen Tue 02-Oct-12 14:46:36

<runs in>

Welcome dizzy smile

Hi littlemiss smile

Hope everyone's having a good day!

<runs out again>

Kittenkatzen Tue 02-Oct-12 14:47:02

ps has anyone's else's bookmarks disappeared? v annoying

winkle2 Tue 02-Oct-12 16:32:23

really sorry to see you back littlemiss, hope your stay isn’t too long smile wowsers on all that shagging – well done you!

weechops – sorry for imminent AF arrival and FX for end of Oct

kitten - I really really really really really (x1000) hope the soy works foe me! And then works for you!

welcome dizzypurple

woody - you OV 24-36 hours after the smiley so get off here and go DTD grin

teaandcakes - hubby said to me yesterday 'remember when we did our first DTD TTC on honeymoon, how exciting it was?' sigh

Thanks red and same to you. It's surely our time now.

when - CD11, nearly time to get stuck in to DTD!

res - PMA all the way in this thread grin. Need to avoid the COD!!

Anyone else spending a fortune TTC? On top of all the supplements we've been taking (pregnacare conception and soy iso for me; wellman conception, zinc, vit e and c, Pycnogenol and some other sperm-friendly tabs my hub is taking!) we've got the CBFM sticks plus we've been told that a healthy diet might help so we're spending shedloads on organic food!

swimmingnotdrowning Tue 02-Oct-12 17:06:23

Saving my place.

Chins up all!

Winkle - money still slightly tight for us after home repairs to do and a house move over the summer so im noticing every penny that has to go on.supplemenrs and thinking...damnit that could be a takeaway or a lipgloss!! Hav to say hair is looking shiny smile

Last few weeks have been fairly symptom free so impossible to tell when/if ov happened. Started agnus castus again y'day and lo and behold, immediately some spotting and cm has reappeared. So the shagging goes on and on and on and on

Well done on the shagging, Littlemiss...I've also been on a mission this cycle. We DTD CDs 1 (accidentally. Messy!), 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16.

Smilie was CD15 but couldn't DTD due to bloody trip to London for Muse. Hopefully bases covered. We used Conceive Plus most of the month too.

When...get POAS! You could OV soon :-) Allow yourself one a day then!

Hi to Dizzy.

Kittenkatzen Tue 02-Oct-12 18:08:22

Wow you've all been busy on the shagging front, nice work girls! grin

CD12 here but DH has man flu which is putting paid to any potential shagging <grump>

I have a confession to make blush old thread was resurrected in chat earlier on the topic of cosmic ordering. Was bored at work so read it....and then gave it a go! So I now have in my handbag a letter to the Universe asking for a bfp before Christmas blushblush How ridiculous is that?!! Someone slap me quick!

littlemiss calling you littlemiss makes me think of that Robin Williams film where he's a robot...Bicentennial Man! smile

nic thumbs up for T2L?

Bloody men with feigned illness, kitten!

And I like T2L. Supremacy and Panic Station are my favourites. How about you?

SunshineOutdoors Tue 02-Oct-12 18:55:01

Hi all! Worried about this thread now. When it started, saying a bfp in 2012 sounded so relaxed and like there's plenty of time. Now with my stupid 6 week ish cycle I think I've only got two more chances before it's 2013. That's made me a bit sad a Christmas bfp would be lovely though, I just can't believe it's ever going to happen.

Sorry for the negativity and good luck to all on 2ww

winkle2 Tue 02-Oct-12 20:06:04

Nic - blimey you must be knackered!!

Sunshine - PMA love smile

Un-Mumsnetty hugs to Sunshine.

And H2B is still trying to shag me, would you believe?! I've unleashed an animal with my demands!

SunshineOutdoors Tue 02-Oct-12 20:31:49

Thanks smile

Ok, I may be ready to try a full on shagging month again. Only cd 6 here so I've got a bit of time for PMA building and to get some energy!

SunshineOutdoors Tue 02-Oct-12 20:33:06

nic I hope you get a wedding bfp, that would be AMAZING!

redstrawberry Tue 02-Oct-12 20:41:43

Aww kitten I have an email addressed to no one and it asks for a bfp too blush one of the many things ttc makes us do!

We will get our bfps - only a matter if time.

redstrawberry Tue 02-Oct-12 20:44:08

Sunshine we can be cycle buddies again smile cd6 here too. I think mine varies between 4-5weeks.

Feeling super positive today.

Lolcbcblemonlime Tue 02-Oct-12 20:47:32

And me smile. On cd 9 and generally had 31 day cycles but last two after mc have been 34/33

Go for it, sunshine...I've enjoyed my shagging month this month! :-)

And thank you. Keeping my fingers crossed. It would be rather perfect.

resipsa Tue 02-Oct-12 20:51:55

And me smile. CD21 and smiley today. DTD on Weds, Thurs, Sat, Sun and Mon but agreed to tonight and tomorrow too. Bad back on its way wink.

resipsa Tue 02-Oct-12 20:53:14

Hmm, kNic a June baby; cue thoughts of long days in the park eating ice cream with abandon.

Goodness, resipsa, that's more valiant effort than me! Though if my smiley had been today as expected, I'd have been shagging tonight and tomorrow too, on top of what we had already done!

Fx you catch the egg, resipsa :-)

Ooh, June baby would be lovely.

Sunshine - me too, long cycles, fewer chances, really just want to be pg before 2012 is up but i know the.more pressure there is the less chance of getting a bfp. Fx for us tho, only takes one cycle to hit the.jackpot after all smile

Good to see other ladies are serial shagging - if my cycle was a bit.more regular we might be a bit.lazier but since i.never.know when.exactly i've ov just got to go like the clappers all month...ouch!!

I'd also love a June baby smile ds wad tail end of august heatwave and i'd like to not be 9 months pg in.sweltering august heat again. Also june is our wedding anniversary and dh's b'day and its when i got my bfp that sadly didnt work out so it would be lovely to have another baby then...only slight that with the way school works here he/she would be youngest in the year but think we can.cross that hurdle when we come to it.

Night all, no dtd for me tonight, flannel jammies yeeeaaaahhhh!

SunshineOutdoors Wed 03-Oct-12 02:04:57

Hi littlemiss I think I joined the June thread that you left, possibly just lurking for a bit at first. I'm so sorry you've had to come back here. I hope you don't need to be here for long? Whereabouts in cycle are you?

weechops Wed 03-Oct-12 07:26:01

Sitting here in agony with cramps sad af got me last night at bedtime cd28. It's looking likely I'm going to have to ask dh to take time off in December and spend the whole time bonking! I'm not getting down, there's no point so pma all the way smile

teaandcakesolveseverything Wed 03-Oct-12 09:14:31

Sorry about AF weechops, its shitty isn't it especially with the cramps, the only way I ever feel better about it is to think of it as a shiny new cycle, and at least I know where I am rather than the previous week or so of agonising as I never know exactly when its going to show so don't know if I'm late or not! Time off in December sounds like a fab idea, I'm sure work and associated tiredness is our biggest barrier to TTC!
Sunshine and Littlemiss I have PCOS and long cycles of 32-40 days, its a right pain especiallly when dh can't be arsed ie on a school night, although hes been a trooper this month, not sure whats got into him! I think maybe hes realising that his assumption that as soon as we stopped using bc we would be updiffed (cos thats what the sex ed people tell you, and all the people he knows with kids got preggo immediately, cos of course they would speak to him about long time TTC and infertility, yeah right) How long are your cycles?
I like the new pma, hopefullly will convert into lots of BFPs!

winkle2 Wed 03-Oct-12 09:26:29

Argh sorry she got you wee sad AF is so cruel - not only does she dash our hopes of a BFP she brings agonising cramps with her! Beyatch!

Cd16 and the monitor says peak so it's all systems go go go!!

I know what you mean by the milestones. I wanted a BFP by Xmas last year, then 1st wedding anniversary... Now it looks like it might not be Xmas this year. I really don't know how we're coping every day.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 03-Oct-12 09:39:43

Sorry about af weechops

Come on winkle it's peak time. PMA and lots of shagging are in order.

Kittenkatzen Wed 03-Oct-12 10:39:55

nic yeah I love Panic Station too, and Supremacy will be great live. I also love Isolated System, just beautiful smile

red so glad I'm not the only loopy one around here!

weechops sorry she got you, that's crappy sad hope you have a hot water bottle to hug and a family sized bar of choc to tuck into thanks

winkle chin up....and legs up too! grin

CD13 today, managed to coax a shag out of DH last night in spite of the man flu. Had ewcm yesterday too so feeling fairly positive today

redstrawberry Wed 03-Oct-12 10:40:41

sorry about AF arriving weechops hope the cramps subside soon. She has her evil ways to make us feel the pain. As if its not enough hurt that we are not getting BFPs we have to have the cramps too!

I am def out for a June baby - if I conceive this month it will be an early July baby, even younger in class.

I have been wondering this for awhile but what does PMA mean?

Kittenkatzen Wed 03-Oct-12 10:42:35

Positive Mental Attitude smile

teaandcakes / sunshine - pre-mc my cycles were around 33 days which isn't too bad and I could usually tell from cm etc. when I was going to ov, which was usually around cd 19 / 20. After erpc I had a complete wtf cycle in August which went on for about 6 weeks and then I had v light AF. Now I'm on around cd 22 but this cycle has been v weird. Firstly v short, v light AF when it's usually pretty heavy for me. And then no cm pretty much at all this month. So a couple of days ago I took a pg test to make sure (cos u never know), and cos it was bfn I decided to start taking agnus castus again to see if that would kind of kickstart things for me, because i was taking it when I got pg in June and also when I got pg with DS in 2010. Anyway, I've only been taking it a few days and I've had quite a lot of spotting which has kind of turned into breakthrough bleeding and cm is back. I guess this is another wtf cycle which is a bit frustrating since it's been 9 weeks since mc but just going to keep taking the agnus castus, try and keep to a healthy diet and keep calm and carry on shagging. Wish I knew what was going on though!!

red - PMA..postive mental attitude grin

winkle- go on u girl u! peak physique!

oh sorry kitten, cross posted! lol

winkle2 Wed 03-Oct-12 15:46:32

I've eaten 2 bits of cake today and a cookie! Need to sort myself out!

Is everyone here mega slim and healthy?

DulcetMoans Wed 03-Oct-12 16:15:46

I wish winkle! Much better than I was (4 stone better now!) but still far from skinny. I am eating a nectarine though, despite there being a box of quality street behind me. No one in this office likes the creams which is awful cos they are my favourite. I can't resist a whole box of cream quality streets behind me and I can't see them thrown away! It's torture!

resipsa Wed 03-Oct-12 16:42:17

No need to worry about summer babies if you ask me. I was a mid-Sept one and put in the year up so was always "young" in my year (big school at 10, O levels at 15, A levels at 17). It never bothered me and I turned out OK, I think...

Lolcbcblemonlime Wed 03-Oct-12 17:28:48

I'm not mega slim or particularly healthy. I do exercise 3/4 times per week though.
I'm detoxing this week with juices and soups only to try and shed holiday weight.
I tend to drink at weekends, not much but will have wine with dinner etc. decided not to give everything up due to ttc or ill drive myself insane!

redstrawberry Wed 03-Oct-12 17:29:37

Ah! PMA smile I have a lot of that right now.

Does happiness count as a method to get pregnant quick? I had a very happy day today. Things are going well at work and in my personal life (bar the lack of BFP) but I am really really happy. Lots of good conversations with my mates, I am grinning and I haven't felt this happy since we started ttc. I am just hoping all this happiness = more positive feeling and less pressure on ttc = BFP smile

Kittenkatzen Wed 03-Oct-12 17:52:57

Awww red that's lovely smile long may it continue!

I'm not particularly slim or healthy either! I'm tall though and carry weight quite evenly which is good on the one hand but a pita when it comes to losing weight as it takes an age to see any results sad I do 2/3 yoga classes and 1 spin class a week. Diet is pretty awful though.

That's really nice, red...fx it brings results :-)

I'm relatively slim after losing 2 stone last year and I try to eat healthily too. If I want cake / wine etc, I have it though!

I also have height on my side, Kitten, which is useful.

Red - i am the same, feelung really happy with everything except mc and lack of bfp, hopefully happy = pma = bfp

Winkle - i was in great shape before i got pg in june, size 12 clothes were feeling a bit loose, zumba twice a week, healthy diet, multi vits etc. Been feeling grim since, 6 weeks of hyperemesis followed by a d&c, drained, tired, bit anemic and chubbier sad sad boobs had already gone up a cup size in june and they havent gone back down. Making a better effort from here on in tho. Hopefully wink

SunshineOutdoors Wed 03-Oct-12 18:18:26

Sorry weechops I know it's hard but join us on a shiny new positive cycle.

After trying to be all relaxed I'm going to try the other way this time ... LOTS of shagging and winkling and tinkling and a big PMA. Let's hope this is the cycle for all of us!!!

winkle2 Wed 03-Oct-12 18:18:42

Argh really strong ovary pain!! Either that or it's the cakes I've eaten today!

SunshineOutdoors Wed 03-Oct-12 18:22:55

red your attitude sounds just perfect smile

SunshineOutdoors Wed 03-Oct-12 18:23:36

Go winkle go and make a little winkle!

weechops Wed 03-Oct-12 20:29:07

Floating on a lovely codeine cloud at the moment smile I usually take them for my migraines but today I have found they do wonders for horrid period pains too.

So in my blissful state I have decided I need to focus on something other than ttc sooooo..... I'm going to book us a wee holiday for the Easter break to look forward to. Doubly good if I'm upduffed then as I won't feel so self conscious about my flabby bits if I can say well I'm pregnant smile (size 16 and the heaviest I've ever been, with a weakness for chocolate and biccies)

Now I need some recommendations girls please. We went to a villa in Crete for our summer hols and loved it, but just a bit too hot for weechops2 - sweat flared his eczema.

Ideally somewhere 3/4 hours away, nice and warm, 4/5 * hotel or apartments and stuff for kids to do (even if just parks/pools)

Thank you muchly

<slinks back under fleece blanket with huge bar of yorkie>

resipsa Wed 03-Oct-12 20:32:50

Malta? My uncle is Maltese and we went for the first time this year with DD. Better than I expected...

Kittenkatzen Wed 03-Oct-12 21:47:43

Canary islands are beautiful and have lovely warm weather all year. Can pm you some hotel recommendations if you like smile

weechops Wed 03-Oct-12 22:00:22

That would be lovely kitten, thank you.

weechops Wed 03-Oct-12 22:09:34

Res I never thought of Malta before. Is that near the canaries?

Lolcbcblemonlime Wed 03-Oct-12 22:51:15

Mm I went to Malta a few years ago and it was not my favourite place. How about the algarve? It's absolutely lovely!
I'm doing exactly the same! Booking a 3/4 night break in Iceland in November to see the northen lights and also looking at Cuba or somewhere around there for jan!!!

Kittenkatzen Thu 04-Oct-12 09:00:35

Oooh lol I've been to Iceland twice and it's hands down the most beautiful place I've ever been, you'll love it! Make sure you visit the Blue Lagoon, Great Geysir and Gullfoss!

weechops I'll pm you shortly smile

Ooh, that's good, Kitten. Iceland is our honeymoon destination. A week on Monday. :-)

chilledmonkeyribs Thu 04-Oct-12 13:39:35

Oooh im jealous. Would love to get away. Went to sharm a couple of years ago - it was horrible. Tenerife last year was lovely. I dont think you can go wrong with the Canary Islands. My friend's just come back from Ibiza with their 18m old and weather was lovely, not too hot.

Oooohhhh Cuba [daydreaming emoticon]

A group of us went to Iceland a few years ago. Lovely, but strange place, it was too bloody cloudy to see the northern lights - gutted!!! It was dark nearly all day, which is hard to get your head round, (probably great for a honeymoon!!) but the lagoon is gorgeous and reykjavik is quite lively. Not long to go now nic Will be getting out my virtual hat again.

Well no BFP here sad. Had tiny bit of spotting on Monday morning then nothing. Stupidly got my hopes up thinking it was implantation bleeding, as nothing at all til tuesday night when AF got me. Bollocks Bollocks Bollocks. Tried to be positive that my LP had been 16 days long rather than 18. And I had a 6 week cycle all by myself which is good news. I was all, Bah who needs clomid to ovulate. But its hard to be positive when your nearly 2 years down the line with sweet FA to show for it. CD2 and counting....

Sorry to see you back littlemiss. X

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 04-Oct-12 14:44:23

Sorry about af Ribs. Good news about cycle & lp though.

I am on cd13 and still haven't dtd yet [shame] it has to be tonight as I am away all weekend so if we don't dtd tonight the next time we can is Sunday night.
I am shattered and so not in the mood.

Weechops - im dying to get away too! Since we've had ds we've been to santorini and lanzarote, both fab, v family friendly, lovely weather, gorge beaches. Lanzarote prob slightly more buggy friendly smile think we might aim to get away in april or may, poss somewhere in italy this time. Lovely to hav something else to think of smile

Well agnus castus seems to hav briught on af strangely!! Couple of days of spotting has tyrned into pretty heavy bleeing, crampy ovaries, not v nice and so fed up with the wtfness of it all but just going to call this a new cycle and resume dtd again like a mad thing on monday

winkle2 Thu 04-Oct-12 17:40:17

Sorry she got your RIBS sad 2 years, that's tough.

Come on, when, hop to it, pull your finger out grin

CD17 here, more DTD tonight! Planning on DTD tomorrow and Sunday too. Then I'll have DTD this week Mon, Weds, Thurs, Fri and Sunday! That's loads for fertile week hey?! Might even try and get one in on Saturday! I'm currently at the enjoying it stage, might as well go for it while I feel like this, usually I CBA!

Sorry, Ribs :-( I don't know how you're keeping so sane.

2pm a week on Sat for the virtual hat :-)

Lolcbcblemonlime Thu 04-Oct-12 18:05:12

Oh how exciting nic. Have my hat ready!
Hope u love Iceland. How long you going for? I've not booked yet but will do soon. Actually excited!

We are going for a week

Can't wait!

resipsa Thu 04-Oct-12 19:29:37

Oh kNic exciting! Wish I could get married again sometimes (same DH, though!). Think I'd put in a bit more effort with the dress, hair, decor etc. I left a lot of it to my mum and didn't even have my hair done!
Aah, ribs you sound good all things considered. Positive spin - CD2 could be the day after the day from which your pregnancy is dated.
Go winkle. We were doing really well until I got the +ve OPK on Tuesday then we only managed that day but missed the next day (well, we had a row so it was deliberately missed by DH who flounced off to bed and still isn't speaking to me!) so now I'm worried that the earlier efforts were in vain as the day after the smiley was probably OV day and the best to DTD. Hey ho.

DulcetMoans Thu 04-Oct-12 19:58:45

My new favourite question is what would you have done differently on your wedding day, you gave me your answers without me even asking res!

You are doing well winkle, where you getting the energy from?!

I didn't DTD on smiley day either, before and day after though. It's been a shagging marathon this cycle, and a certain someone has decided it needs to continue, even though it won't assist baby-making! Rod for my own back.

We are both really excited about the wedding. Fx it all goes to plan on the day. :-)

ribs - i didn't recognise you with that chilled monkey on your shoulder wink so sorry AF got you, we can be cycle buddies now tho since my strange herbal tablets made AF arrive y'day. cd2 and counting, we can help each other stay positive, maybe this will be a good cycle for us both, and we'll get bfps and problem free pregnancies to follow brew

Dulcet - I got married 3 years ago and I absolutely loved the whole lead up, lovely hen party, brilliant day, amazing honeymoon. I might have gotten my nails done instead of going a pretty amateur job on them the night before after a few shandies at home with my mum and sis, i might do something slightly different with my hair, a slightly diff cake and i wasn't crazy about our official wedding photos (some lovely ones but a lot of very stiff posed ones too and not really enough of all the other people at the wedding) but all very minor things in the grand scheme of things. I've been to 4 weddings this year and going to another one in november - i'm still wedding crazy, they're kind of all the same but all different too and it's such a lovely day for the couple (sob, sob). What would you have done differently? Good luck with yours nic!

Hi Littlemiss!

Thank you. I've already asked the photographer to do more relaxed shots and focus on the guests and atmosphere, so hopefully that works out.

I've also decided to pay to have my nails done, so that's another tick!

I'm just so bloody excited now...only one more weekend as a single lady. :-)

SunshineOutdoors Fri 05-Oct-12 06:04:30

I wouldn't have had a horrible fringe cut in a few days before my wedding if I could do it again sad grin

Luckily we had a registry office first followed by our own non legal ceremony the week after. I have a good photo from the registry office before my hair got butchered!

Don't go for a different haircut

Lolcbcblemonlime Fri 05-Oct-12 07:33:44

Luckily I got married twice so second time around I had everything I wanted and it was absolutely perfect grin

winkle2 Fri 05-Oct-12 12:04:34

Nic, although the relaxed shots are nice, they aren’t the ones that you are going to put in frames around the house. so I would say get loads of you and hub together – it's the only time you'll be all dressed up, etc, and looking your best!

Make sure they don't throw away your £600 wedding cake at the end of the night sad Ask the caterers to serve the cake on the tables so it gets eaten or to save you a layer to take home. I'm still gutted about my wedding cake sad

winkle2 Fri 05-Oct-12 12:05:30

oh and also, you will have loads of people wanting to take your picture on the day but make sure you look at the official wedding photographer so your eyes are looking straight ahead in the official pics and not to the side as your mates are taking pics!

DulcetMoans Fri 05-Oct-12 12:05:34

Aw, this is great! I haven't got married yet little, it's next year. That's why I have started asking everyone the question! I will mind my hair lol, haven't even thought about that!

We will definitely have photos won't be loads though as I can't be doing with all the faffing. I'll make sure we have options though :-) Doubt we would put more than one up in the flat as neither of us likes looking at ourselves much!

Great tip re looking at photographer!!

I want the photographer's presence to be unobtrusive as much as possible though.

Oh, and my friend is making my cake and it is being used as the buffet dessert, so hopefully it will mostly get eaten!

It is actually cakes, not cake as we have square cakes which cut into 4.

winkle2 Fri 05-Oct-12 13:45:06

I'm 1PO and craving jelly! Maybe it's a sign!!!! <hides from Kick>

resipsa Fri 05-Oct-12 13:55:52

Kittenkatzen Fri 05-Oct-12 14:51:39

winkle grin

littlemiss and ribs - sorry she got you, so crap

Ooh wedding talk, fun! nic in my opinion "cakes" is always better than "cake" grin I also got married twice, and actually had it pretty much perfect both times - both were abroad with a very small group and I'd do the same again (not that I intend to!). My top wedding tips would be to be bold with your make up otherwise you'll look washed out in the photos....and don't be scared to SMILE for the camera - I was terrified of looking like some mad grinning woman all day and had possibly been watching too much ANTM before hand and I ended up looking downright miserable in some our our photos!

CD15 here and we have dtd a grand total of once so far, on CD12!

redstrawberry Fri 05-Oct-12 14:58:36

Hope you have a very exciting and fun week as a single lady nic I second what everyone says about wedding pics, smile loads and yes do take lots of pics with hubs and you. I got camera shy eventually and now just have 1 good pic of DH and me together and its not even a full length one, so can only see top of my dress. So make sure you get lots of pics which show off your dress with DH.

The build up to weddings is so exciting smile I wish I could do mine all over again. We had bad weather and lots of wind on my wedding day and my hair looks terrible. No amount of hairspray helped sad

Sorry ribs and littlemiss* X

winkle2 Fri 05-Oct-12 16:39:58

mad ovary pain again today!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Fri 05-Oct-12 18:06:58

Loving reading all the wedding posts. I'm getting really excited for you.

Lolcbcblemonlime Fri 05-Oct-12 18:22:03

I agree. I had loads of pics. Some formal and some informal ones. And also a good hair and make up. Also think what your hair looks like from the back as this is what ppl will see!

weechops Fri 05-Oct-12 19:59:41

Our wedding was nice but the weather was shocking! Chucking it down with rain and so windy. It was a 'sign though that the rain stopped when I arrived and when we were leaving smile there's a fab picture of me holding my dress up and the wind catches it and you can see my garter. Very windswept but amazing photo. I indulged a bit and have a page full of me in different poses, closeups etc as I thought I'm never gonna look this good again ha! Oh I'm all excited for you Nic!

woody17 Fri 05-Oct-12 20:11:31

Had some more acupuncture today - always feel really good after having it. Went to see a nutritionist as well so I'm going to make a few changes to my diet.

nic it sounds like you are very organised! My only advice (from my own wedding day) is from time to time just take a step back and watch everyone enjoying themselves - it's such a special thing to see.

chilledmonkeyribs Fri 05-Oct-12 20:16:18

Thanks for the support girls. Yey iv got a cycle buddy. Hope this is a 6 wk cycle or earlier. I may go in2 meltdown in a couple of weeks as it'll b the same time last year I found out I was pregnant. Albeit unsuccessfully.

I'm getting v excited bout your wedding @nic. The only thing I would do differently about my wedding is not marry the lying prick. Had a lovely day tho. I'm clearly not with him anymore. Dp is soo much nicer.

Personally I like the informal photos best, when u aren't looking at the camera. I'm keeping everything crossed for goodthe weather for you.

chilledmonkeyribs Fri 05-Oct-12 20:23:36

@woody. Iv been having acupuncture for a few months now. Where does your guy stick the pins? My acupuncturist is very eccentric which makes me wonder if he knows what he's doing, in between kung foo moves and burning my stomach with moxer, or whatever it is. [Omg emoticon]

I had reflexology before and i ended up pg with ds but havent given acupuncture a go...yet!!

Yay at all this wedding chat, im going to get tearful again, dont know why, weddings always make me weepy!! Make sure your friends take loads of casual snaps too, nic - some of my fav wedding pics (they even made it into the album!) are the dance floor ones that friends snapped. Love them, everyone just having a ball smile

strangely timed af is pretty heavy which would be normal for me so this is first normal(ish) af since mc so trying to look on the bright side and hoping things might be getting back in balance again...

woody17 Fri 05-Oct-12 20:38:10

chilledmonkeyribs I've only had two sessions so far but the first time, the needles were in my back as she was doing a bit of a health check. Today, they were in my feet and legs!

woody17 Fri 05-Oct-12 20:38:54

littlemissnowshine weddings make me teary as well...

@woody - we can hav a quiet cyber sob then as nic heads off down the aisle, hope they hav an amazing future ahead of them, sob sob lol grin

Morning all...thank you for your lovely comments about our wedding :-) I am so excited now. My head hurts after my hen do last night!

I appear to be getting a cold too, which isn't great timing.

Why have my boobs not stopped hurting yet? Started just before OV and still hurt. I don't like sore boobs!

woody17 Sat 06-Oct-12 08:15:03

Glad you had a good time nic

How many dpo are you? Sore boobs do seem like a good sign!

Ummm...6. They've been constantly sore though, which makes me think it's nothing. H2B is appreciating the slightly bigger and heavier boobs though!

woody17 Sat 06-Oct-12 08:20:55

You never know! FX. Are you waiting to test until after your wedding?

In theory, yes! I think I should. But we shall see!

Ooh sore boobs def sounds like a symptom - because getting pg with ds was a bit of a surprise i wasnt symptom spotting at all but if i had been on the look out sore boobs would have been a def give away...fx for u smile

I had awfully sore boobs the cycle I think I had a chemical pregnancy (faint second line Thurs, AF Fri). But only the week leading to AF.

This time they've been sore since before OV and every day since.

Part of me wants to test before the wedding so I can give the stick to Bri with a ribbon round it on the day if we are successful. But not drinking would be a giveaway at a time I wouldn't want people to know!

woody17 Sat 06-Oct-12 08:53:31

Last month (although it didn't work out) I had twinges in my boobs from ov to finding out I was pg.

That would be such a lovely present! But not drinking might be a give away, although when I got married, I didn't feel like drinking at all on my wedding day...or eating! Which is very unlike me.

Being off food would be very odd for me! I could probably get round it by saying I want to remember it clearly or something.

Very interesting re your sore boobs though. Hmmm...

I've also had intermittent cramping from 3dpo which is a new one for me!

I prob would be v tempted to test early too! You'll prob be wanting to avoid the booze anyway even if u havent tested just in case but anyway no one will really botice if you're drinking or not, you'll be so busy getting your photo taken, chatting to people, dancing... I think i only managed half a glas of wine, one champagne & a couple of g&ts at my wedding cos i was too busy to go the bar! Fx for u smile

Dh away for weekebd so having a sleepover of my friends and her ds are coming to stay. Wine, chinese, cheesy movie, cant wait. Back to dtd on Monday when af is gone & dh gets back

winkle2 Sat 06-Oct-12 20:42:23

Girls I have a question about weeing after sex. Should we not be doing that in case all sperm get washed out?

Lolcbcblemonlime Sat 06-Oct-12 23:23:48

I heard you should not wee for at least half an hour winkle! Not sure it's true though.

I think Zita West recommends lying down for half an hour after sex.

Yeah tricky one - a few years back.i had a really persistent run of urinary tract infections which were really nasty so i ended up getting referred to a consultant. Apparently im just prone to them (lucky me!) so i had to take a low grade antibiotic for 3 months but consultant told me all women should be really fastidious about weeing after sex. So there u go!! Lol anyway, i always lie down after sex cos we usually do it right before sleep and it doesnt seem to be doing any harm!

I have really tried to have night sex this cycle, so I get to lie down for hours after. Managed to only have night sex at fertile time, also using Conceive Plus, so I'm hoping for a good result!

7DPO and my boobs still hurt. I also have a head cold and my tummy feels sore. Can these be symptoms?!

I think I may POAS before the wedding as I'm just too impatient to wait! According to this article:
a couple of drinks on the wedding day wouldn't be an utterly evil thing to do. I trust the research more than the reporting source though, ha ha!

What I did read yesterday is that stress can delay OV but not AF after OV, so if I'm not pregnant, I WILL get AF next weekend / early next week. Fx for baby!

Hope my cold is gone by Saturday. I feel like crap :-(

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 08:57:49

I try and lie down for a bit while dtd but I don't know if you need to.

nic I don't think you should feel bad about a few drinks on your wedding day.

Well, I think I am 6/7 dpo (not 3/4-I don't seem to be able to add). Trying desperately not to ss but have been feeling nauseous almost constantly since yesterday, have lots of creamy cm, very tired and getting painful twinges in boobs and twinges in lower abdomen!

When are you testing, woody? We can be testing buddies :-)

And thank you...I don't want to get hammered, but the odd drink will be nice!

DulcetMoans Sun 07-Oct-12 09:09:47

I doubt you would get to drink loads on the day anyway nic, and people probably wouldn't even notice if you were on the same glass all day. You'll be off and busy do they wont even know. A couple in the early stages is fine anyway, we've heard that a lot!

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 09:19:17

Well I'm going away on Thursday morning until Monday night for a long weekend in Rome so tempted to test on Wednesday - but then I'd only be 9/10dpo which is probably too early? And my dates might be all wrong. So then I'm thinking to test on the Tuesday morning after I get back? What do you think?

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 09:21:02

I'm just confused on dates etc with this being a wtf cycle! Ov seems to have happened very early but then it does seem to do that with a very early mc.

Well, I'm on exactly the same dates as you and considering Weds too! Otherwise maybe Saturday itself! :-)

Could you test while you're away? If not, Tuesday will give the best answer (I couldn't wait that long, but AF would have also appeared by then if unsuccessful).

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 10:50:44

I could test while away but we're going away with some other people as well and don't know if I'd be able not to say anything.

I'm really confused now - as ive said, got my smiley on CB Ov Sticks on Monday but this morning I've had ewcm, properly stretchy and sticky, exactly like the stuff you're supposed to get when you're most fertile. But I've had no more smileys on the sticks? If I was ov now, it would make more sense with my usual length of cycle etc but this is a wtf cycle. Any ideas?

winkle2 Sun 07-Oct-12 12:35:24

I would dtd again just in case. Trust your body more than the sticks.

That's what most websites say, I think, too...EWCM = get shagging!

I'm 'lucky' in that I get really bad OV pain which matches when I get a smilie, so I know it is right!

winkle2 Sun 07-Oct-12 13:08:15

I took soy this month and had OV pains and EWCM - first time ever!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Sun 07-Oct-12 13:33:23

I don't think a couple of glasses on your wedding day would matter nic like dulcet says people probably wouldn't notice you nursing the same glass all night.

Got my smiley today so I need to get shagging. We've only dtd once so far this cycle (Friday so not bad timing). Need to do it again tonight obviously.

Hi ladies. I am gate crashing - waves at everybody. I am Nic's sister and I will notice if she isn't drinking on her wedding day smile

runs away before Nic spots me

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 14:11:44

Well, I got DH to come back to bed and we dtd so hopefully we've caught it.

When that does sound like good timing!

nic I know think I'm going to test on Thursday morning before we go to the airport and if it's a BFN, I'll test again next week.

winkle it sounds like the soy is working!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Sun 07-Oct-12 15:35:25

Are you really Nics sister? No one from RL knows I post on mn (I think).

Thanks for the message woody dh is not cooperating. He is tired and has a headache. angry am going to see if I can force him into it tonight. I'm shattered myself. I told him I probably wouldn't be ovulating till mid week at the earliest and its come early this month (stupid cycles).

DulcetMoans Sun 07-Oct-12 15:42:39

I think nic did get us to wave at her sister once so I think it is. Hi why! You'd forgive her though, wouldn't you??

Lucky on your Friday shag then when, hope you both get the energy up later! big sister appears! :-)

But I will tell you if I'm up duffed, so you can hide my non-drinking for me! (As well as helping me go to the loo.)

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 16:34:04

Hi nic's sister

when DH was too tired to dtd the day after the smiley sad it's frustrating, isn't it?

Getting weird stitch like pains now, even though I've not been doing anything!

I will be very excited if Nic is pregnant on her wedding day! Coz I will be Auntie Why then smile

winkle2 Sun 07-Oct-12 17:00:14

Hi Nic's sister!

redstrawberry Sun 07-Oct-12 17:48:43

yay for EWCM winkle grin and hello nic's sister

interesting post about weeing after dtd. I always thought wee can't affect the sperm as by that time they are way inside the cervix. I am not sure now.

Lolcbcblemonlime Sun 07-Oct-12 17:51:42

Hello nic sister!! Are you ttc as well or just nosey grin?
Brave move nic. I don't want anyone knowing my obsession apart from you lovely ladies!
Didn't get to shag as DH got shy with parents around but as no positive opk yet I'm not that fussed!

She had better not be TTC!! Two is enough :-) She's just seeing how I'm going, though I tell her anyway! I don't mind her knowing...I need a RL person to talk to :-)

I am definitely not ttc! I just like to see what Nic is up to. She lives so far away I don't get to have enough girly chats and I miss her.

Woody - me and dh came but from Rome in dec 2009 and 1 day later i found out i was pg so rome and poas are forever linked in my mind!! Good omen for u hopefully lol

hi nic's sis!

Af has more or less finished, dh on his way back.from lad's weekend away, reduming shagathon 2moro night which will be cd6. Im away next weekend on.cds 9 & 10 but even.with agnus castus i cant see me ov before cd 16 so im.sure that'll be ok but will just have to dtd morning i leave and evening i get back to keep bases covered!

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 19:10:01

Thank you littlemisssnowshine I hope it's a lucky omen for us too! FX. Glad af is almost over so you can get back to dtd!

lol when do you normally get your smiley?

Still feeling really nauseous. Don't know if it's a symptom now or not though...

winkle2 Sun 07-Oct-12 20:02:44

Hub has been really down about TTC today.
He just feels so hopeless. After a year I know how he feels sad

We have dtd cd10, 12, 14, 16 and 17 - with 16 and 17 being the peaks on the CBFM. Do you think this is enough? Now on cd20.

redstrawberry Sun 07-Oct-12 20:35:23

Sorry you are both down winkle but I know it will happen for you soon. It will be your month.

That's really good on the dtd thing smile maybe do another dtd for luck if you can. But pretty sure you should have caught it.

woody17 Sun 07-Oct-12 21:14:46

winkle sorry that you and your DH are feeling down sad

winkle2 Sun 07-Oct-12 21:16:15

Thanks girls. We said earlier all this anxiety makes you want a stiff drink but we can't drink too much cause of TTC! Argh

Lol last night was my last wine.night for this cycle, i'm replacing with hot cocoa. Sexy and i know it! Warm milk is good for relaxing and sleeping tho smile plus additional calcium etc

know how u feel winkle sad wish wr'd start ttc #2 sooner, started thinking about it back in feb, started actually ttc in march, got pg early June, mmc late July and now ttc again in October, 8 months after we started talking about having a brother or sister for ds. The length of time can really get u down, so u end up living cycle to cycle instead and thats tough too. Really fx that this is the month for u x

Lolcbcblemonlime Sun 07-Oct-12 22:31:39

Sorry u feel crap winkle. Are u ttc first baby? It sucks when it takes so long!
Woody I normally ov at cd17. But I was reading today that epo can delay ov. Last two months it happened on cd20. So still a few data to go!

winkle2 Sun 07-Oct-12 22:49:35

Yes lol I'm TTC first child and 34 in January - feel so hopeless!

Lolcbcblemonlime Sun 07-Oct-12 23:01:50

I can imagine! Come and join us on the elderly pavlovas thread! We are all over 30 and trying for first. It's a fun and light hearted thread.
I sometimes feel hopeless too. Think we all do. All we can do is try to find some patience from within. It sucks though.

winkle2 Sun 07-Oct-12 23:05:06

I read that thread today actually! Was thinking of joining x

Any smilie yet, Lol?

I'm feeling nauseous with cramping / stabbing pains in my right ovary / uterus area today. Generally bleurgh, actually, what with my head cold. My tummy feels unsettled too.

Maybe nerves. Maybe my cold. I will never last until after the wedding to POAS at this rate!

Two days left at work. Thank god!

Is anyone due to test today? Feels like ages since the last tester!

woody17 Mon 08-Oct-12 08:17:22

nic hope that last few days go by quickly!

Your symptoms sound promising. I'm having similar ones (constant nausea, twinges in lower abdomen and boobs) - it's hard not to get your hopes up!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Mon 08-Oct-12 11:23:12

winkle sorry you and you dh are feeling kind of hopeless at the moment. I really hold you get some good news soon.

nic hope your cold disappears soon. Take lots of zinc and try and rest up before the big day.

kittykatskumkwat Mon 08-Oct-12 11:34:13

Hi girls < peeps over hedge to check on you all>
Good luck for the weekend Nic, you'll be a mrs in less then a week!! Good luck upcoming testers all those symptoms sound really promising x

Thank you :-)

I already take zinc every day...should I up the dose?

Feel rotten today. Thank god I finish work tomorrow. Had to sprint to the loo earlier as I expected to be sick. Just nauseous now, don't feel like I'll actually be sick.

Strange cold!

Lolcbcblemonlime Mon 08-Oct-12 13:16:55

Hi all
No positive opk yet but a bucket load of cm today so will force DH to get laid. He was not well yesterday so I was well pissed off!

woody17 Mon 08-Oct-12 13:34:55

lol hope you dtd tonight.

nic your symptoms do sound really promising (I think). I really hope you are pg - this would be such a perfect and romantic time for you!

Kittenkatzen Mon 08-Oct-12 13:38:26

Hey ladies!

Hope everyone's having a good Monday. Have been a bit quiet the last few days as I'm 2ww-ing and trying really hard not to drive myself nuts really early on.

winkle sorry you're feeling crappy and down sad You're not alone - I'm 33 in a couple of days and also ttc #1. I just look at all my friends and feel so behind! Sigh.

nic and woody your symptoms sound promsing, will keep my fingers crossed for you both!

hi nic's sister! grin

<waves> to everyone else smile

woody17 Mon 08-Oct-12 13:41:01

kitten how many dpo are you?

FX that you get a BFP!

Kittenkatzen Mon 08-Oct-12 13:53:57

only 3dpo woody ....I have my fx too but it's going to be a looooooooooooooong two week I think!

woody17 Mon 08-Oct-12 14:20:51

kitten I hope it goes by quickly for you

winkle2 Mon 08-Oct-12 15:29:52

kitten - we can be miserable together!

little miss - i cant have cocoa before bed cause I'll be weeing like a trooper!

hub and i are thinking of going to this:

That looks interesting, is good your DH is so involved in it as I'm sure some men would just leave it to the woman to research etc.

Fx for you kitten :-) 2WW always drags. Even when there's a wedding on day 13! :-/

Still feeling sicky, got a headache, right sided gynae pain, generalised tummy ache and my cold (surely not related?!). My boobs don't seem as painful as they were, but they may have peaked earlier today when they got quite bad.

I've wanted a BFP every month, but want it more this month. Have to not let it ruin my honeymoon if it hasn't worked.

Kittenkatzen Mon 08-Oct-12 18:41:01

Aww nic i really hope you get your fairy tale wedding day bfp! (but if not, a honeymoon baby will be every bit as special and fairy tale like!)

winkle nice to have company at my pity party grin

winkle2 Mon 08-Oct-12 19:18:01

Nic - agree with kitten smile

winkle2 Mon 08-Oct-12 21:13:07

Question girls - do you stop dtd after you've ovulated? It's cd21 and I haven't dtd since cd17...

woody17 Mon 08-Oct-12 21:25:08

winkle we keep dtd throughout, probably about 3 times a week apart from the supposedly fertile time when we try and do it more often.

winkle2 Mon 08-Oct-12 22:15:54

Oh bugger better dtd tomorrow! OH out tonight.

redstrawberry Mon 08-Oct-12 22:49:10

kitten can you do stuff with DH or mates to make the time go quicker. I dread the 2ww every month. It's like the clocks take twice as long every min every sec.

winkle that was on my mind too. DH and I have always stopped after OV. Never managed one beyond cd18. Get exhausted with all the sex before!

winkle2 Mon 08-Oct-12 22:52:10

We dtd all month a couple of months back and d

winkle2 Mon 08-Oct-12 22:53:17

And it didn't work sad

This month we've dtd cd 10, 12, 14, 16 and 17. EWCM had dried up by cd18.

Grannyapple Tue 09-Oct-12 07:48:22

Morning ladies...mind if I join you? TTC#2..for only 3 months. Took 3 months with DS so hoping it'll be the same again but not holding out much hope. Keep feeling like we never manage it at the 'right' times, plus cycles have been a bit longer than usual (I'm beginning to think its the multivits). Managed to dtd on Cd13, CD16 & CD20...cycle has been btwn 29 & 35 days recently. Need to fit it in a few more times before family come to stay next week!

Tis bloomin hard trying to dtd with ds, life & work getting in the way, eh?!

Grannyapple Tue 09-Oct-12 07:51:24

winkle think I'm on same cd day as you...we can be 2ww buddies!. Think I'm due on from 16th-21st...hoping it's not 21st as that's our wedding anniversary...

winkle2 Tue 09-Oct-12 08:50:52

Hey you could be my twin smile my cycles vary too but are generally around the 30 day mark... Makes testing hard cause you never know if you're late or not. Must say your name confused me... I thought why is a granny having a baby grin

woody17 Tue 09-Oct-12 08:57:26

Hi grannyapple hope you get your BFP soon!

Kittenkatzen Tue 09-Oct-12 09:11:35

Hi grannyapple......I'm in yours and winkle's club too - af bfp due around the 19th. Managed a cheeky dtd last night just in case smile

red you're right about the 2ww dragging, my iphone app thingy counts down the days for me which I thought would be really helpful but actually I think it makes it even more torturous! (tortuous? tortureous? no idea)

winkle we tend to ease off after ov.....although tbh I'm completely guessing as to when ov is so we probably should up our game a bit. One of the bfp'ers on another thread just popped back to update us that she'd had her 12 week scan and was told that she's actually only she had ov'd 8 days later than she thought! Just goes to show really....

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 09-Oct-12 11:08:06

Hi grannyapple best of luck in the 2ww.

You are all so good with dtd. Even doing it post ov. I've only managed it twice this month but the timing was pretty good so I'm not too worried there.

Only 1 dpo myself and I will be not drinking in the 2ww to be extra careful. I normally don't worry about it but feel like I need to do something different this month.

weechops Tue 09-Oct-12 13:24:14

Hi girls I feel like I've not been on for ages! I feel like I'm in limbo a bit just now. Dh has to go back to work for a week on friday and I'm due to ov around tuesday next week so unless he has superstrong swimmers I'm out for october.

And I had to go for my smear test earlier too ugh. The nurse asked about birth control so I told her we are ttc. She said 'oh and how is that going for you?' Erm well....I'm not pg so how do you think.

Hello everyone

weechops - like you, feel like i haven't been here in ages (err...since sunday!)...withdrawal symptoms! Think i might be due a smear, can't remember if i got one done after DS was born in 2010 but think I'll leave looking into that just for now. already have dentist to go to next week, yuck!!

winkle - i guess because i can't use opks and my cycles do vary a bit from month to month we carry on dtd even after i'm fairly certain ov has been and gone because there's a small chance i might be wrong so might as well carry on! we started dtd last night which was only cd6 but keeping bases covered!!

whenshewasbasd - i'm drinking this Sat for a hen party (will be on cd11 so should be fine) but after that no more til i'm sure i'm def not pg. like u say, can't hurt to do something diff/extra this month.

Feeling pretty good at the min, prob all the diff multi vitamin supplements and superfoods i'm eating. AF gone. Shagging has commenced. If I could wean myself off coffee&chocolate i'd be top of the class i can't, though

PS) winkle - watched Homeland in bed last night. With cocoa! Then dtd. And didn't even need to pee. Result!

chilledmonkeyribs Tue 09-Oct-12 14:52:04

Goddam you nic Ive caught your cold. I feel like im made of glass, im having a cheeky look on here before nicking off work early and going home to bed for an hour or so. I hope yours is on its way out so you're all lovely and snot free for the big day.

CD 7 here I think?? Nothing to report. Other than off to hospital with DPs sperm sample on Friday. Its been such a nightmare getting it arranged, he's been busy at work, and its got to be 3 days since he last, ahem, let the little guys out to play!! confused So just hope we dont get arrested at the side of a busy road on the way to hospital, trying to get the sample. They dont tell you about THIS when TTC do they!!

Il of been TTc for 2 years next month, iv decided to start to look into fertility treatments ivf etc. Holy shit its expensive. We'r looking about 4 grand. If id been 3 years younger and donated my eggs I could of had it free at one of the hospitals. If your over 35 your eggs are fucked - is that the message they're giving out. Great!!

Ive probably had only about 20 proper periods my whole life. I should have gazillions of the little buggers.

winkle2 Tue 09-Oct-12 15:25:27

nice on littlemiss grin

CD22 here, best go for a shag tonight just in case!

Oh ribs sad that sounds v unfair. Hope bfp shows up for u before that

winkle - u never know so good luck for later!

Cd7 for me too, night off dtd, going for eod this month. Good times! Hopefully!

wishfulthinking1 Tue 09-Oct-12 17:57:14

Hi girls-
Just wanted to pop in and say hello (was on the original bfp in 2012 thread... and the may, June, July ones...!)

All's well with me- 14 weeks pregnant and everything seems to be going ok this time, which is a relief. I'm well past the mc anniversary, so fx it'll be full steam ahead.

I LOVE the new positive thread title and have fx that it is the one where you ALL get pregnant.. Sounds like lots of new things are being tried... Soy, secret lube etc... Really really hope this is the month for you all,

winkle2 Tue 09-Oct-12 18:23:10

Hi wish! Thanks for coming to see us and glad to hear all is well with you and wishling!

winkle2 Tue 09-Oct-12 18:28:54

Littlemiss - I know I should dtd but I can't CBA!! I've peaked on the monitor and EWCM dried up aaaaagggggeeesss ago!!

hi wishful! been a while, glad to hear your good news and hope all continues as well as it's been going smile

lol @ winkle - don't worry i'm not going to stand at the end of the bed and prod u with a stick til you're in the mood! eod is just what i'm doing this month, it's not a new rule! and wait til i get to cd21 or so, i'll be thoroughly fed up too grin

God...I'm sorry Ribs :-( Shit, isn't it?

I've had a headache from it all day, which only decongestant would help. Which I'm avoiding!

But I've now finished work for my single life, which is awesome :-)

Hi to Wishful...I'm hoping to emulate your post-wedding BFP!

winkle2 Tue 09-Oct-12 19:50:57

littlemiss - i dont think i'm gonna dtd! hub is feeling down... he blames himself for not being able to get me pregnant. sad

Lolcbcblemonlime Tue 09-Oct-12 20:25:01

I'm coming to the conclusion that ttc would be a lot easier without men!!! If we had a stock of sperm we could use when we thought we were fertile life would be a doodle!!!!
Turkey Baster anyone grin?

Fairy130389 Tue 09-Oct-12 22:16:10

Hi Ladies!!!!
Just thought I'd gatecrash your thread - I'm new here and TTC my first baby - I do have one DSD who lives with me and DH to practice on but this will be my first pregancy.

Just a thought - does anyone else find it so ironic that you go through your teenage years paranoid about pregnancy, only to become a grown up and realise that it's actually a lot more difficult than you ever anticipated!!!

SunshineOutdoors Tue 09-Oct-12 22:21:32

Hi all! Cd13 here. So far have dtd cd6,8,10 and 13... not actually expecting to ov until around cd24 but shortly am going to step up the shagging, going to aim for everyday with winkling for about a week. The softly softly approach hasn't been working!

Never know how often to dtd.. Dh has started reading up about it and we can't decide if everyday is too often to build up good sperm or just right to make sure we don't miss the right moment.

Also we're both going to try cutting down booze around ov and see if that works.

Hope everyone's still feeling positive .... I've been wavering a bit but determined to stay determined... this is going to be our cycle smile

winkle2 Tue 09-Oct-12 22:27:30

Hi fairy - its ironic we spend our whole lives trying not to get pregnant when really its so much harder than we think!!

Winkle - your poor dh, sorry hes feeling down sad but it sounds like you hit all the key days in your cycle this month and ewcm has come and gone so fx fx fx for u!! Are you on cd23 now? When can u poas??

We dtd last night cos dh seems to be treating this month as a challenge lol its hard to be in the mood all the.time.but we've been shagging loads over past few weeks and its been easily the most sex we've had since we just got.married3 years ago and that led to ds's surprise arrival so going to just go with it for now. Cds 6 & 7 down, cd 8 today.

Sunshine - i havent done loads of reading but most of what i have seen.seems to.suggest that copious shagging is the.ideal for ttc unless dp has a low sperm.count and then eod might be preferable. Either way its still.a lot of sex!

winkle2 Wed 10-Oct-12 08:54:02

Well done on all the dtd littlemiss!!

I think the not getting preg is really getting to him sad He's just sad and disappointed all the time. It's really hard.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 10-Oct-12 09:57:11

Hi granny and fairy I agree it is annoying your most fertile years are exactly when having a baby would be a really bad idea. Then when you are actually ready for a baby your fertility falls off a cliff (I exaggerate but it still pisses me off).

winkle really sorry your dh is getting so down about ttc. It must be really tough for both of you.

Kittenkatzen Wed 10-Oct-12 10:06:36

Hi fairy welcome smile

sunshine and littlemiss good work on all the dtd!

winkle sorry your poor dh is feeling down, that's rough sad hope you both perk up (so to speak!) soon x

ribs that truly sucks, I'm so sad for you. I will also be keeping my fingers crossed that there are no passing bobbies on Friday.....not exactly romantic is it!

wishful glad everything is going well for you, so lovely to hear people's positive updates!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 10-Oct-12 10:41:06

Ooh I forgot to say hi to wishful really glad it is all going well.

ribs that's shit really really sorry.

winkle2 Wed 10-Oct-12 11:56:16

thanks all. sorry for the woe is me posts but its really cr@ppy at home at the moment sad

woody17 Wed 10-Oct-12 16:11:08

Hi everyone

winkle sorry you and DH are feeling sad.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Well I'm about 9/10dpo - been having nausea and sore/tingling boobs for last few days. Think it's probably to early for these to be symptoms but can't help hoping. Off to Rome tomorrow for a long weekend so think ill wait to test until I get home.

winkle2 Wed 10-Oct-12 17:26:17

My sister had a baby girl today!! So pleased :D

Kittenkatzen Wed 10-Oct-12 17:29:25

Aww congrats Auntie winkle grin is she gorgeous?

woody sounds positive fx for you. Have a lovely long weekend, am jealous always wanted to go there!

woody17 Wed 10-Oct-12 18:10:26

Congratulations winkle on becoming an auntie!

Thank you kitten I really really hope so!

Congrats auntie winkle!

Have a lovely time in Rome woody smile

Feeling v healthy (no sniffles!) and pretty happy and relaxed this month but also wrecked tired. Only cd8 tho so prob a bit early to start symptom spotting lol

winkle2 Wed 10-Oct-12 19:49:58

She's beautiful!

But also a reminder that if I'd got preg first month

winkle2 Wed 10-Oct-12 19:50:26

Of this year when we properly stated trying, it would be me now!!

Sorry winkle sad MN sent me a 'your pregnancy at x weeks' email y'day, reminding me that I'd be 20 odd weeks pg if i hadnt had mmc at the end of July. I thought I'd cancelled all of that stuff and to male it worse I saw it on my phone when I was trying to have a sneaky scoot round the shops to buy myself something new to wear for first time since the summer when all that was happening cos I've finally been looking and feeling a bit better. Sigh. Thank you internet!

Shit...faint second line on a FRER!

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 08:46:01

It's shite isn't it littlemiss? I'm due on next week and I just know I'm not pregnant. I can feel it. Seriously, killing me would be less painful than this. I just can't take it anymore.

Nic your symptoms sounding so promising, I'm not surprised. What a fab wedding present.

I feel so guilty, winkle :-( I wish I could help you in some way.

Had to tell Bri when I found out and he's really pleased. I got drunk yesterday too as I had a negative test!!

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 08:56:24

And now I'm crying on the way to work. Great. Life's a big ball of fucking shite.

Sorry nic I'm not trying to steal your thunder of make you feel guilty. It's just I keep looking at pics of my new niece and wishing it was me. It's such a stark reminder.

Really am pleased for you and your husband to be smile

kittykatskumkwat Thu 11-Oct-12 09:21:22

Oh winkle sad don't give up hope for this cycle yet, honistly I was convinced I wasn't pregnant this month as had nothing indicating I was, infact the only thing I would say was I had the same feeling as you of dispair and being emotional so really you don't know yet and I understand how hard it is waiting, it took me nearly 2 yrs for dd using opk etc! Don't know why it can take so long, my little sis had her baby before me and I'd actually put off trying for a few months to be a bridesmaid at her wedding! She was updiffed the next month, her ds was 1 when I finally got pregnant!
Nic- congratulation. What a fantastic wedding gift for you, I bet you will have a lovely secret smile all day smile don't worry about the drink, I was drunk perminantly till I was 7 wks pregnant first time blush

Kittenkatzen Thu 11-Oct-12 09:45:44

oh winkle i feel so sad for you, have a big squishy hug from me. I don't know why it's taking so long for you, but it will happen - give your new niece a big kiss safe in the knowledge that one day you'll have your own to keep, and then everyone will be jealous of you!

nic shockgringrinshock wow! omg congrats that's amazing!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 11-Oct-12 10:00:28

Oh winkle I'm so sorry it's all so shit for you at the moment sad. Sometimes it can take a hideous amount of time while. I really hope you get some good news soon.

nic really pleased for you. Congrats.

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 10:05:07

I'm really sorry Nic for doing this during your BFP announcement, sorry it should be a happy time with everyone congratulating you, not feeling sorry for me.

Don't worry about it...I feel selfish for announcing my BFP when you're so down :-(

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 10:27:11

I'd be down whether you announced it or not so don't feel like that smile

Giving you a very unMN hug. xx

redstrawberry Thu 11-Oct-12 10:59:26

Really pleased for you nic and a big hug to you winkle my heart goes out for you.

I had a bad wisdom tooth ache yesterday, didn't take any painkillers. Toothache gone with corsodyl and salt water rinses. But today I have low BP. Feeling so faint and dizzy. I was supposed to OV yesterday, still haven't. Sure I am out for this month. Things have gotten very stressful and its like my body just doesn't want me to get pregnant sad Why is this so hard?

Winkle be good and kind to yourself today.

nic you've got a pre-wedding BFP smile you are going to be a beautiful bride. X

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 11-Oct-12 11:11:20

Nic will be a very beautiful and sober bride. Good luck keeping it a secret.

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 11:19:21

thanks girls for all the love and hugs.

dont care if its unmumsnetty i need them today!

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 11:25:15

I've stopped crying you'll all be pleased to hear!

Nic - yeeeaaayyyy!!! BFP Bride, its like a chick.lit novel title grin such lovel and inspirational news, i remember.being 7 months pg at my first wrdding anniversary and being soooooo excited...and you'll hav yr LO before you even get to your first anniversary. Congrats to you and DH to be, so fab!!

Winkle - hug from me too. Sorry mate, its just completely shit and all i can say is i know how u feel. Really got fx that this is your cycle and all i can suggest is treats for winkle this gin, its true, since its getting close to poas time but tea, choc biscuits and a nice glossy mag. It doesnt really help ecactly but might take your.mind off things for an hour. Im on sofa under.blanket watching Thomas and Friends with ds and trying not to obsess about cm. Gross but funny

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 11:46:07

LOL @ obsessing about CM whilst watching Thomas the Tank Engine!
one of the girls on the other boards I sometimes go on was trying for 15 months then she got her BFP. sadly she miscarried but this month we tried soy together this month and she got pregnant! And her husband had 1% morphology too. so fingers crossed.
I had a glass of wine and a cigarette last night – argh the stress of TTC is making me want booze and fags! which are the things that you shouldn't be having whilst TTC! oh the irony hey!
I'm sure I have mentioned on here about my husbands drinking? I think its finally hit him that he cant continue boozing like he was. last night my friend and I had a glass of wine to we the new baby's head and I offered him one and he said 'no because I had a drink on Monday'. smile
Again girls, so sorry for bringing the thread down – I should think before I post.
nic – how many DPO are you and any tips for the rest of us?! Is this the month where you and H2B went for it every day? I remember a recent post where you said you had really upped your game but not sure whether it was this month or last month.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 11-Oct-12 12:26:42

I know you have stopped crying winkle but have a hug from me too. Also if you can't vent a bit on these boards there's not much point us bring here. Hope you get that BFP soon.
I guess it is sort of good news about your husbands reduced drinking, hope it makes a difference.

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 13:10:17

thanks when

I have called the doctors to meet with them next month and get referred to the fertility specialist. might as well get the ball rolling as these things can take time and I'm 34 in a few months.

I'm either 10 or 11 DPO, depending on if the egg dropped on the day of the smilie or the day after. We have decided it dropped on Sunday night so we can say the baby was actually conceived during the Muse gig that night!!

We DTD on CDs 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16.

We only DTD at night during my fertile period and used Conceive Plus as lubricant. First month for that too.

Almost thinking I'm dreaming now. Keep looking at the photo.

Far more aware of the pulling in my right side today!

I think it is just the amount of shagging that worked. We didn't DTD the day of the smilie either. Just the day before and after.

And thank you, everybody. Struggling to believe it!

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 13:57:04

What cd did you OV do you think? X

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 13:57:51

And hang on a minute DURING the gig?! Tell me more!!

Ha ha...we didn't have sex during the gig. We had sex on CD 14, the day before the gig. The smilie was on the day of the gig and we had no time to DTD.

I was in a LOT of pain during the gig, so the egg may have dropped then, and of course there was sperm waiting for it to appear.

We met through Muse, only fair the baby should have been conceived during the gig! :-)

Smilie CD15, so OV either 15 or 16. No surge on 16 though.

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 14:05:15

All your hard work paid off hey!!

Thank god...far too much to do for too long!

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 14:13:13

welcome to my world honey <wan smile>

:-( More big hugs to you. xx

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 14:54:07

thanks lovely smile

weechops Thu 11-Oct-12 16:02:52

Nic I am so chuffed for you! smile

Winkle I'm so sorry you're feeling like shit just now. We are all here for you to sound off to, blub over, rant at, whatever you need
< wraps winkle up in fleecy slanket and hands her some dairy milk >

Lol @ slanket - my dh bought me a slanket when.i was pg and i burst into tears cos i already felt like a blimp and i thought id a tellytubby in.a slanket. Ah memories hormones

Im away Sat/Sun for hen party so getting ny hair done this evening. DS is a bit snuffly so feel guilty about leaving him, and about having a drink (or 6!) on Sat night when we're ttc and a night off dtd even tho it'll only be cd11. Ho hum. Hoping guilt evaporates with new hair cut and will disappear completely when train leaves station on sat morning!! Will be dtd tonight&2moro anyway. Just in case!

Thank you :-)

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 16:41:20

Thanks weechops

I've actually got a slanket! haha

Not allowed dairy milk though, have to try and be healthy. just ate some grapes whoopee.

I'm sure I'll be fine tomorrow girls, just very emotional today.

I've got a second interview for a job next week – please pray for me that I get it! I'm really sick of my current job, which doesn't help with the way I'm feeling!

Have a fab time at the hen do littlemiss

Good luck, winkle. :-)

Fairy130389 Thu 11-Oct-12 17:35:57

Oh girls I've just had a neg test sad I had bloody convinced myself that it would be positive too - think I am one step away from a phantom pregnancy at this rate!!!!!

FMU is better in early pregnancy really. You could try again tomorrow.

Fairy130389 Thu 11-Oct-12 17:55:50

I know but I couldn't wait and thought that as AF was due today it would be ok... I might try again first thing though

winkle2 Thu 11-Oct-12 18:32:38

Try again tomorrow morn fairy and good luck!

Oh good luck with the interview prep winkle! I really love my job, fab colleagues, v family friendly & flexible, very interesting and worthwhile work. Unfortunately since its in a small community organisation its bot really the most secure, maternity pay will be crap, no pension/sick pay, only funded for another 16 months so I'm thinking about swotting up for some grad recruitment schemes - if i end up pg and due in aug/sep 2013 hopefully they'd let me defer and start in sep 2014 instead. And maybe work part timectoo. Lol im a choosy customer me!

And good luck for tomorrow fairy, hope its a bfp!

Fairy130389 Thu 11-Oct-12 19:07:14

Thanks everyone. Sorry to hear that you are feeling down winkle, channel all your energy into your job interview and big fx for you. Oh and congratulations Nic, how long were you TTC for?

This is my 5th cycle, Fairy. But the first we shagged like rabbits and used Conceive Plus. I call it the first proper month!

winkle2 Fri 12-Oct-12 09:25:30

That's good that you love your job littlemiss. It's important too I think.

Any news from fairy!

Nic - any symptoms as yet?

Sorry for my meltdown yesterday girls! Feeling much better today.

I'm cd25 and 8DPO - how is everyone else getting on?

Insomnia, heartburn and a tugging sensation. Not much really. Oh, and burping!

The digi confirmed 1-2 weeks' pregnant today. :-)

Grannyapple Fri 12-Oct-12 09:54:17

Morning ladies...ooh big fat congrats x 2 to nic for your wedding & bfp...have an absolutely fab day!

winkle I too am on cd25 & 7dpo I think...was symptom sporting on Tuesday as I kept feeling suck/nauseous when hungry then but that seems to have gone...tbh I'd be v surprised if it was this month...only managed to dtd 3 times this cycle....not helped by the fact I fell down the stairs in Tuesday & crashed into closed stair gate...thought I'd broken my middle toe but turns out its just bruised..hmm

Just been to spin class...may as well get back into the fitness if I'm not pg (not been for 2wks & bloody feeling like it!).

Hope everyone has a good day/lovely w/e....we've got family down next week so that's ruled next week out for us too..

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Fri 12-Oct-12 10:53:18

winkle glad you are feeling better today. Got my gingers crossed for you (for a BFP and for your job interview).

fairy any news yet?

nic really hope the wedding goes well.

Kittenkatzen Fri 12-Oct-12 11:08:08

grin at when crossing her "gingers" - are they crunch creams or nuts haha!

granny ouch at your tumble down the stairs, sounds painful. Well done on the spin class though, I'm feeling blobby as I've not been to the gym all week and have stuffed my face with cake instead. Must be better next week!

winkle glad you're feeling perkier today smile I'm CD22 and i think roughly 7dpo. AF due next Friday. Zero symptoms to report.

nic I'm sure you'll be too busy and excited for mning tomorrow so I'll say CONGRATULATIONS now, hope you have a fabulous (and sober!) day! When are you off to Iceland? SO envy of your honeymoon!

Thank you granny and when :-)

Just driving south on the M6. Got butterflies!

We go on Monday, kitten :-) Last holiday for a while, I imagine!

Fairy130389 Fri 12-Oct-12 12:17:50

Hi all - I'm doing this sneakily at work - I tested first thing this morning - Had V. V. faint + line... So still none the wiser! I'm trying not to get my hopes up incase but I followed all teh rules and it was definitely there (when I squint and hold it in the light) haha! I'm going to test again in a couple of days, will keep you posted!

Grannyapple Fri 12-Oct-12 13:03:54

Ooh exciting fairy..fx for you!

How many days/when was AF due?

Fairy130389 Fri 12-Oct-12 13:13:05

Due yesterday... I've been driving myself mad reading forums etc saying that it's really rare for a false positive even when the line is faint... it was really REALLY faint though... what do you think?!

Grannyapple Fri 12-Oct-12 14:23:47

Ah it is rare....but I'm not the best person to ask....I had what I thought was a v v faint +ve last month but was a sainsbury's blue dye test which are apparently notorious for such things...anyway AF arrived a couple of data later but I was the latest I'd ever been..

Sorry, don't want to crush your hopes...hopefully your's was much less faint than mine so more likely to be a to wait a few days I guess?

Grannyapple Fri 12-Oct-12 14:25:11

*days, not data**...tsk!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Fri 12-Oct-12 14:36:03

Cross my gingers [shame] when will I learn to proof read?

fairy I really hope your faint line works out. If I get a faint line it doesn't end well BUT one of my friends didn't test positive for a week after missed af (baby is now a v healthy toddler. Another friend was still testing negative a week after missed af (is now about 16 weeks preg). Anyway gingers crossed for you grin

winkle2 Fri 12-Oct-12 15:02:51

thanks for the ginger crossing when grin

nic have a fab day tomorrow

fairy – exciting! try again in the morning and keep us posted!

we were talking about babies at lunchtime at work and one ladt said it took her 16 months to fall and then she miscarried but she got pregnant again so it gave me hope! it's surely my turn soon!

winkle2 Fri 12-Oct-12 15:03:10

one lady not one ladt!

weechops Fri 12-Oct-12 17:55:14

Nic have a wonderful day tomorrow. Many congratulations from all of us in the weechops household.

I may not be posting as often for a while. My dad is seriously ill and I'm trying to sort end of life care and stuff. Bit stressed sad

Grannyapple Fri 12-Oct-12 18:47:10

Oh weechops sorry to hear that....lots of big hugs your way x

BFP due Tues so hope it's a sign!

Really must stop eating spicy food after OV as I can't tell if it's cramps or spicy f

kiwi5 Sun 14-Oct-12 09:31:23

Hiya.have been a very rubbish poster on this thread. Congrats to nic on wedding and bfp. Got my bfp last week. Have had a rough year with my baby neph dying in feb and a mc in may,so am still feeling a bit raw and like i cant really believe i am pregnant. Dont want to get too excited in case it jinxes it. Took me by surprise as dh was away most of the month and only dtd once, and that was after when i thougjt i ov. I know theres s long way to go and part of me thinks i will end up back here again, only u guys will all have hopped of by then. Sending positive sticky bean thoughts.

MrsBri Sun 14-Oct-12 09:37:45

Thank you, kiwi...our wedding was fantastic :-)

Good luck to you. It sounds like you've had a really tough time.

winkle2 Sun 14-Oct-12 11:49:27

Congrats kiwi you deserve it after the hard time you've had x

winkle2 Sun 14-Oct-12 13:04:23

Are saucy dreams a symptom?! Oh my word blush

Lolcbcblemonlime Sun 14-Oct-12 15:32:50

Tell us more winkle grin
Are we talking 50 shades??

Fairy130389 Sun 14-Oct-12 19:37:07

Hi again! Congrats to the new Mrs!!!!!! Winkle - sounds really, REALLY promising!!! I thought vivid dreams were a sympton and surely it was vivid if you can remember the saucy bits?!

I am still none the wiser... I had dismissed it as BFN... as didn't FEEL preg... BUT have now had THREE 'barely there' line debacles. I am also now 3 days late...

So I have now started to let myself feel a little bit excited, but I'm really wary that I could be dissapointed, I'm not sure if it's just because I'm so desperate for it that I have started to notice things? I'm sure we've all been there, reading up on early preganancy signs and thinking 'oooh that's me', only to come on bang on time...

I think I will test again in a few days and see if I can turn my big fat maybe might be could be is it might be positive into a BFP!!!!!!!!

redstrawberry Sun 14-Oct-12 19:58:32

Hahha saucy dreams are good winkle. Congrats Kiwi! Really happy for you.

We have been dtd every other day for what's seems like a long time as I was supposed to OV last week but still no shift in bbt. Had a positive opk on friday although bbt is swaying lower. Not sure whether I have OVed or not.

Kind of not bothered because I don't want to know how many dpo I am or I will start obsessing again. I have done well this month not thinking about it much. Just another two weeks to go before AF due.

winkle2 Sun 14-Oct-12 20:32:58

Lol - there were quite a few! One involved Gordon Ramsey?!?!

Fairy - how many DPO are you? Might be too early if you're getting faint lines?

Red - Keep going smile I told hub this week we need to have more sex, not just for baby making.

Boobs don't feel sore anymore so feel like I'm out this month sad

Had a good chat with a friend the other day. She had 2 miscarriages and then didn't get pregnant for a year after that so she understands how I'm feeling. She's really helped me to relax about the whole thing (after my meltdown last week blush) so I feel ok and I'm not gonna let this get me down again.

Fairy130389 Sun 14-Oct-12 20:50:58

well.... drumroll please....

I'm pregnant!
I can't stop crying
Definitely good luck and baby dust provided by this forum - I should have joined months ago!

-Winkle - I had really sore boobs about a week ago but it has completely disappeared now. Don't give up!!!

winkle2 Sun 14-Oct-12 21:01:58

Oh yaay!! Well done!

How long we're you trying and is this your first? What worked this month do you think?

Fairy130389 Sun 14-Oct-12 21:09:03

We've been trying for about 6 months.
I'm not sure what worked tbh - previously I've been really stressed about it, calculating the right day etc. When it was taking longer than we thought, I decided to just pretend we weren't trying.

No special anything to be honest, just been a bit more relaxed about it to be honest.

This is my first pregnancy yep...

I know this is going to sound crazy but you don't think the faint lines mean I'm going to have a mc do you? I have been feeling really rough the last week or so with flu, it's making me a bit paranoid??

I'm SURE this month will be lucky for you - my friend was trying for two years and she has just given birth to a healthy baby boy.

winkle2 Sun 14-Oct-12 21:15:28

I don't think the faint lines mean anything more than maybe the type of test you were using... Were they a cheap brand?

Thanks for your thoughts and wishes - hope you're right!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Sun 14-Oct-12 21:16:37

Congrats fairy really pleased for you. Let us know when the test gets darker.

Don't discount a BFP yet winkle sore boobs didn't happen to me until 6weeks (when preg with dd).

redstrawberry Sun 14-Oct-12 22:35:56

Ramsey eh winkle? Errrm whatever takes your fancy grin I know you will get Pregnant winkle it's only a matter if time! It has been a long wait for you but I am sure you will have a lot of happy times soon. Good things come to those who wait smile

fairy I hope your 6th cycle luck passes onto me. I am on my 6th and we have been jumping so much I'm exhausted!

redstrawberry Sun 14-Oct-12 22:36:35

Humping not jumping - bloody autocorrect! Although jumping would get you pretty exhausted too grin

Lolcbcblemonlime Sun 14-Oct-12 23:14:50

Ooooh winkle. I am also a big fan of Gordon Ramsey!!! I find him sooooo hot! And in my dreams he is the best shag ever blush!!!

winkle2 Sun 14-Oct-12 23:59:51

Lol I hate him!! I don't know why he turned up in my dream!!

MrsBri Mon 15-Oct-12 07:05:26

Ha ha, winkle...dreams like that are just bonkers!

Lolcbcblemonlime Mon 15-Oct-12 07:47:00

Maybe you secretary love him winkle! grin
Nic how long u going for? I booked a 4 night break in Iceland for November! Am well excited!
Have a fab time! And don't take any tests with you!

MrsBri Mon 15-Oct-12 08:37:57

I'm going for a week :-) Can't wait!

I have no tests left. I just have bad wind and itchy nipples. I am so sexy!!

Kittenkatzen Mon 15-Oct-12 11:35:00

Ooh congrats kiwi and fairy how exciting for you both! winkle I have my fingers tightly crossed for you, good things come in threes right?! grin

nic hope Saturday was wonderful, have a fabulous time in Iceland!

Bastarding AF turned up this morning - another short cycle, only 24 days this time sad have just ordered some opks from amazon, feel like I need to start taking a bit more notice of whats happening rather than just hoping for the best as we have been doing.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Mon 15-Oct-12 12:33:30

Sorry kitten that is a short cycle. How many dpo do you think you were when af turned up?

winkle2 Mon 15-Oct-12 12:57:42

Ah sorry she got you kitten. Any idea why you had a short cycle?

Kittenkatzen Mon 15-Oct-12 16:09:54

Thanks girls it's more frustrating than anything. I haven't been tracking ov at all so going by my iPhone app only AF came at 10dpo, and for the second month in a row too sad. Have done a little bit of googling research this morning and apparently short cycles aren't a problem as long as your lp is long enough (over 12 days seems to be the consensus). So I'll give the opk's a go for a month or two - hopefully I'm just ov'ing super early for some reason.

redstrawberry Mon 15-Oct-12 19:51:09

Sorry about AF arriving kitten. Do you have short cycles like this every month? sad

I have so much on my plate with work and family haven't had time this month to think about it.

Well im back from hen wkend and piece again...kinda! Cd12 now tho so thats me off the booze for hopefully a v long while grin

Congrats fairy & kiwi!!

Fx for you now winkle - there can be no possible other excuse for a sex dream.involving Gordon Ramsey except a serious hormone surge wink

Congrats nic, enjoy the honeymoon.and hope wedding was totally fab

Sorry about af kitten

hope all is going ok respisa & weechops (if you're reading)

No news with me really on the ttc front. IM hoping the agnus castus will help regulate my cycle a bit this month since its been really effective when.i've in the past and since mmc a couple of months my cycle has been crazy confused even.if it does regulate things a bit tho i'd say cycle will still be on the long side and ov is still likely a week away but nonetheless the epic 10 day shagathon commences tonight. Wish me luck!!

winkle2 Mon 15-Oct-12 21:09:45

10 days?! I feel tired just reading that! Good luck!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Mon 15-Oct-12 22:56:28

Good luck littlemiss you will need it 10 day shagathon sounds exhausting.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Mon 15-Oct-12 22:59:15

Well I had my consultants app. Didn't see the consultant but his junior doc. He didn't seem to know half as much about ttc as you ladies confused.

He has booked me in for more tests and signed me up to a trial to see whether giving progesterone helps reduce mc. I said I would do it but I was and still am really unsure.

winkle2 Mon 15-Oct-12 23:48:33

What does the trial involve? Dont do anything you're unsure about x

Whenshewasbad - sorry ot didnt go as well ad you might have hoped sad seeing consultants, whether its for pcos or ds's glue ear can be pretty disappointing in my experience. I guess we just want them to have all the answers and ideally a magic solution but you're more likely to get home feeling a.bit.confused and probably more than.a little short changed to boot. I always end up getting.'proper' advice off mumsnet...about everything lol

winkle -yes, exhausting to contemplate too! Stupid irregular cycles! But dtd cds 6, 7 and 12 so far. I can make it through til the end!!

Kittenkatzen Tue 16-Oct-12 07:20:28

I second winkle's advice not to do anything you're unsure about - have you got time to think about it and maybe do a little more research of your own at least?

littlemiss good luck with the epic shagathon - I'm knackered on your behalf! grin

red nope 24 days is not strictly normal for me, although in the 6 months since stopping the pill my cycles have been 27, 30, 29, 28, 25 and 24 days so I guess they do seem to be on a downward trend confused Glad to hear you're not stressing too much about TTC this month, hope the work and family stuff is all ok.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 16-Oct-12 07:43:35

winkle littlemiss & kitten thanks for the responses. I can withdraw consent from the trial whenever I want so I still haven't really made my mind up. I do need to do more research as the doctor didn't really know any details of the trial.

I need to "pass" my tests first. For possible chromosomal abnormalities and phospholipid and thrombophilia screening. Dh was a bit concerned about the chromosomal thing, I was trying to explain it to him but I think I might have made it worse.

winkle2 Tue 16-Oct-12 08:25:25

Little miss - my cycles were long and irregular too but they seem to have settled down to a more normal 29 days. Which means I'm due tomorrow eeeeek

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 16-Oct-12 10:18:52

winkle I just checked the thread cause I thought today was your testing date. Fx

Lolcbcblemonlime Tue 16-Oct-12 13:19:58

Ooh exciting! Anyone poas with winkle tomorrow?
Give us a live feed so as we can send u good vibes grin

resipsa Tue 16-Oct-12 13:47:10

Good luck tomorrow, winkle.
when they give progesterone supplements more routinely in the US where care in pregnancy is managed by an obstetrician from the outset. It seems to gave a good success rate without significant side effects. The others are right, you need to be sure but it's probably worth a shot.
Bad day today (setting aside a DH on crutches for next month, more broke nights courtesy of DD and yesterday's root canal) as it's my "but for m/c" due date and no one save you lot knows.
A friend announced she's 14 weeks with no.3. First time lucky in terms of TTC. Trying to feel happy for her but struggling. Am at risk of serious self-pity attack!
How's everyone else?

Poor u respisa im really not looking forward to my 'would have been due' date in feb sad totally ok to just feel a bit down today, tomorrow is a new day.

winkle - are u really holding out on poas til tomorrow?? impressed

Cd13 for me or day 2 of shagathon. Might try conceive plus tonight, never used it before. Also off booze and caffeine since y'day, dosed up on.prenatal vits/agnus castus. Fx bloody crossed!!!

Also i have had KILLER heartburn.y'day & today again. V unusual for me & i havent been eating anything particularly unusual and I've just seen.a thread on babycentre suggesting it might be related to ov. Well err maybe. But hopefully they are right!!

weechops Tue 16-Oct-12 18:06:52

resipsa hope you're ok today. Thinking of you (un-mn hug ((())) )

littlemiss I never knew heartburn was ov related. I've had it over the past 2 days and I'm still waiting on my smiley on opk. This is cd 15.

Oh and the best news of all - dh is coming home tomorrow night woo! So hopefully if I get a smiley tomorrow we'll actually be in the same place at ov time for this month smile

winkle2 Tue 16-Oct-12 18:28:58

Not poas tomorrow! Can't bear seeing bfn. Plus my cycles have previously gone up to 35 days - I even had a random 43 day cycle recently! So will hold off until Friday. Got plenty to keep me busy - I got a new job today smile

Lolcbcblemonlime Tue 16-Oct-12 18:31:36

Oh congrats winkle!
You are like me on the bfn fear so I won't egg you on maybe a little bit
We will wait patiently till Friday ...

Yay winkle, congrats on new job!! Fab news grin and yes you are right of course, no point in testing early, we'll all wait patiently for you to poas wink

weechops - ooh that is v good news & v good timing!! Heartburn is bad and it has been going on for 48 hours - cm doesnt exactly resemble ewcm but i suppose u never know! Will be dtd tonight, tomorrow, night after that etc etc so hopefully will catch it when ov does happen!

Toilet training and starting naughty step / time out with ds at the min,so between that, workload and still money stress, i can really not be bothered to dtd this week but im little_miss_CAN_DO!!!

MrsBri Tue 16-Oct-12 19:48:59

Congrats winkle, and fx :-)

winkle2 Tue 16-Oct-12 20:06:27

Thx all x

Oh oh whats this?? Ewcm!!!

winkle2 Tue 16-Oct-12 22:49:30

Get dtd!!!

Bit wrecked last night so dtd at 6 this morning, will repeat again tonight. I think ewcm usually seems to appear a day or two before actual ov, for me at least anyway.. But i did dtd on cd13 and i'm actually on cd15 today! So maybe I'll ov around cd 16/17 rather than 18/19 like i was before. Interesting... (to me lol)

redstrawberry Wed 17-Oct-12 07:47:09

Congrats on the new job winkle grin

winkle2 Wed 17-Oct-12 09:33:53

6am well done!

Thanks red!

Eurgh hungover this morn!

My mum called to congratulate me on the new job and said she was just waiting for one more piece of good news from me. Me too mum, me too!!!!

Kittenkatzen Wed 17-Oct-12 09:47:03

Congrats on the new job winkle!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 17-Oct-12 10:37:25

Hi resipsa sorry everything is rubbish right now, especially with the due date coming round. Hope you are telling better today.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 17-Oct-12 10:38:37

Ooh forgot to say congrats on the job winkle

Yay winkle, think you deserve a little hangover after a well deserved celebration grin

Heartburn is FINALLY starting to ease up and from my google snooping it does seem like a lot of ladies get really bad heartburn just before they get their smily face on opk. I can't use opks cos of pcos so i'm seeing the heartburn and ewcm as being good indicators!! Now just have to make sure DH stays in the zone lol

teaandcakesolveseverything Wed 17-Oct-12 11:52:27

Sorry, I am a regular lurker but post infrequently cos I find that seeing that others are going through the same things as me is really comforting, but actually writing my worries down makes them more real and worse, whereas I can just ignore them myself and give myself a proverbial slap, but this is just too much! This whole TTC thing is excrutiating at the moment. I am on CD 37 today, not as late as it sounds as I can go up from 30 to 40 but I was expecting an earlyish one this month, but my body is just being odd. Grumbling, stabbing pains intermittently on left and right sides (but more on right), since ovulation - nearly 3 weeks now, I have been feeling nauseaous for the last few days and while my boobs were reallly sore, they always are for the week before my period , but that stopped 3 days ago and they are now a different sort of sore, normally the witch always comes while they are still very painful. And my period has not come. I so want to think I might be pregnant, but can't, its so unlikely that something that wonderful would happen that I can't be. All of these symptoms could be for other reasons too, from mis-guessing when my period is due, to imagining the sickness, to the abdo pain being just one of those things that wiill go away, to endo or ovarian cysts (neither of which I have as far as I know, but I do have PCOS). It doesn't help that 2 months ago I had a week of nausea and 2 weeks of boob pain which got my hopes up, followed by AF showing up bang on time. This could of course all just be a total WTF cycle too, with no rhyme or reason and thats that. I am almost looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, two very busy 13 hour days coming up so no time to spend on mn, obsessing and worrying generally and unable to think of anything else other than TTC. I can't test, as I am too frightened of how I will feel when the inevitable BFN comes up, especially as for me I can't say I'm reliably late yet, I am even scared of going to the toilet now! Dh has just no idea of what we go through each month! And he wants me to relax a bit! Its just so hard when your body is playing tricks on you and you don't even know other than a guess when things should be happening anyway.

VV sorry for that totally self indulgent post there, whoops, that was quite long!

Congrats to all of the BFPs lately, and double congrats to knick!

Congrats to Winkle on the new job, hope you get your BFP when you finally test too!

SunshineOutdoors Wed 17-Oct-12 15:05:29

Hi all,

Sorry I've been away for a while, had a bit of a rl nightmare when dd grabbed my hot cup of tea, she's ok, but burned on her arm...I felt like the worst mother ever, ambulance came to take us to hospital and everything sad. Still getting used to what she can and can't do/reach now that she's walking. Everyone's been lovely about it but I still feel dead guilty. Doctors say the burn will fade thankfully. I've been lurking on mn and posting a little but didn't have the energy to read through here (and felt like shit mum didn't deserve to come on here talking about ttc). But I'm back now! I wanted a tiny gap between dcs 1 and 2 but now can see maybe it's better it's longer so I can properly look after each one!

I've been reading and can't believe I missed Nic's bfp... a wedding one that's so amazing.

I'm sorry you had a down patch winkle, I really hope it's your month.

Hi to everyone, teaandcakes it sounds positive to me but I totally understand you not wanting to get your hopes up. Try and occupy yourself with treats until you know for sure af is late.

I've decided that if I don't get pg this month then I'm going to the doctors...I know I'm having sex at the right time and it's just not happening sad Am being even more proactive this month but then it's the doctors for me.

tedmundo Wed 17-Oct-12 15:16:38

winkle I occasionally stalk lurk to see how the spring/summer crew I spent ttc with are doing ... Fx fx fx fx fx for Friday. I will be back then to see the Bfp!

teaandcakesolveseverything Wed 17-Oct-12 16:02:38

Just seen my post above, I think I am cracking up, best get back to work methinks!

Sunshine, sorry you're feeling crap, you are not a shit mum, just a human one, so don't feel guilty, thats what happens sometimes with kids, and however careful we all try to be sometimes these things happen, its not your fault though. Hope you feel better soon

Fairy130389 Wed 17-Oct-12 16:51:05

sunshine - we all take our eye off the ball sometimes!!
My step daughter lives with us, and when she broke her arm, we just thought she'd bashed it, I told her over and over to be brave and keep moving it - even told the doc at minor injuries that we just thought it was bruised - but it was broken!!!!!!!! Because she wasn't making much fuss we both thought she was fine! I felt like the worst parent ever then, we all have moments, we are HUMAN!

Teaandcakes - it sounds positive to me! just hold out a few more days and see what happens fx

Winkle - congrats on the job! FX for new job BFP - good things come in groups so fx

Lolcbcblemonlime Wed 17-Oct-12 17:30:44

Afternoon ladies
Have been quiet as busy at work!
Have a question for you experts please smile
Had positive opk Tuesday and negative everyday after until Sunday when I stopped testing. Had a load of cm Thursday and nothing on fri or sat. So how many dpo am I? Have I ovd Thursday or Tuesday???

Kittenkatzen Wed 17-Oct-12 18:08:42

Awww sunshine don't beat yourself up, accident happen and littlesunshine is ok so now harm done smile

tea sounds positive to me, will add you to my fx list and look forward to your update in a few days!

lol don't opks predict the surge kit before ov? In which case my guess would be ov happened weds/thurs....

winkle2 Wed 17-Oct-12 18:26:26

Sending you hugs tea and sunshine - it sounds like you need them!

Tedmundo - your kiddies will probably be 18 and I'll still be on here chasing that elusive BFP! Hope you're doing ok x

Hello to everyone else. Not much to report here. No AF still here which means I'll prob have one of my stupid long cycles and dtd at the wrong time argh

SunshineOutdoors Wed 17-Oct-12 19:26:08

Ah, thanks all. I'll try to be on a bit more now...don't want to miss the bfps.

Winkle give yourself a treat tonight....chocolate, film, mag, early night, whatever will make you feel a bit comforted.

redstrawberry Wed 17-Oct-12 19:37:15

sunshine don't be too hard on yourself! It's not your fault just one of those things life throws at you. How far long in your cycle are you now?

I have been busy with sorting out 2 baby showers for my friends and surprisingly they have taken my mind off ttc as I love planning events. Just hoping one day my friends will be throwing me one and I will be the mum-to-be grin

Work wise I have had to travel a lot and getting to manage a big project which is taking up about 12 hours of my day and that's 12 hours I am not thinking about ttc.

Also hubby is redecorating parts of the house so I get to pick the paints and accessories - so totally into that.

That's 3 projects on the go -whew!

I am sleeping much better. Literally hit the pillow as I am so shattered. I am doing bbt charting and humping like rabbits when we can as it worked for nic. I do want to get pregnant and I hope really not obsessing works this month. I think I am in my 2ww now an af is due end of oct.

MrsBri Wed 17-Oct-12 19:55:52

Yes, my hint is definitely shag loads! I advocate nighttime sex during the fertile period. And this was our first month of using Conceive Plus. That could be a coincidence, I suppose, though.

Thinking back, I was concentrating too much on shagging on the day of the smilie and not leading up to it. I only discovered the existence of capacitation this cycle...fresh sperm won't get you up duffed! :-/

Fx to you all. xx

sunshine - when ds was about 11 months he scratched himself on the cheek so deeply you can still sometimes see a faint mark where he did it 15 months later! How / why he did that i will.never know but you feel so rubbish sad hope your dd is feeling better.

Hope everyone is well, i am feeling completely shattered this evenibg. DS in bed, DH at gym, shower, sofa, tv & bed for me now in quick succession!! And possibly dtd again. Tho ewcm is less ew and gone so maybe ov has been and gone. Hmm eod is.prob fine regardless...would be happy to have tonight off!

woody17 Wed 17-Oct-12 22:01:17

Hi everyone - got back from Rome late last night.

So, I still have my 'symptoms'! Feeling nauseous all the time and my boobs are still really sore. The tenderness has now spread from kind of being almost under arms to the whole of my boobs. I'm CD26 but have so far just had BFN. I have completely got my hopes up as the only time that my boobs have done this before is when I was pg for the first time.

Congratulations nic - fantastic timing!

Congratulations on the new job winkle

Congratulations on your BFPs fairy and kiwi

weechops really sorry to hear about your dad. Hope you are getting lots of support in RL.

Sorry af arrived kitten

teaandcakes I totally understand you not wanting to test - it's horrible when the line doesn't appear sad I try to have little things planned to make the time go back quicker.

Sunshine you definitely shouldn't feel guilty. Hope you are feeling better soon.

lol sorry I can't help with your opk/ov questions - I feel totally confused about it all at the moment. I think that the opk picks up on the surge and ov supposedly happens 24-48 hours after that...but I'm not sure.

redstrawberry I love planning things too! I think that it helps to have lots of things to take our minds of ttc/2ww.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 17-Oct-12 22:01:51

sunshine don't feel bad. Your dd will be fine, these sorts of things happen to all parents [flashback to dd throwing herself off the windowsill and me only just catching her in time]

tea it's sounding good, hope you get your BFP

winkle af staying away is great. Yes it could be one of your stupid messed up cycles but it could also be good news.

lol if you tested on Tues and got a smile but a negative the next day I think you probably oved on Wednesday making you 8 dpo today.

No news here, work is beyond shit at the moment and shows no sign of improving. Am 9 dpo today, no implantation spotting (I normally get this) so I don't think this is my month.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 17-Oct-12 22:04:05

Hi woody sorry there is no BFP yet but the symptoms sound good. Hope you had a good time in Rome

woody17 Wed 17-Oct-12 22:45:54

Thank you when I really hope so...

Lolcbcblemonlime Wed 17-Oct-12 23:15:07

Thanks when. So ewcm on thu does not mean I ovd on thu then??? This is so bloody complicated confused

winkle2 Wed 17-Oct-12 23:19:00

Welcome back woody smile

Hi when xx

Lolcbcblemonlime Wed 17-Oct-12 23:20:25

Winkle enlighten me with your wisdom please! What dpo am I????

woody17 Thu 18-Oct-12 08:20:37

lol I think you get the ewcm on your most fertile day? Don't know if that's the day you ov though. Sorry.

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 08:23:27

I would count the day after the smiley as 1DPO.

CD31 here and still no sign of AF. Have allowed myself to get a teeny bit excited....

woody17 Thu 18-Oct-12 08:31:48

Have my fingers crossed for you winkle

When are you going to test?

SunshineOutdoors Thu 18-Oct-12 08:40:13

I keep thinking about how fantastic nic's bfp is. She must be walking on air at the moment!

MrsBri Thu 18-Oct-12 08:43:25

Awww...thank you Sunshine! We are so excited about it :-) I'm not ready to go to the pregnancy side of MN yet though, hence lurking! Don't want to scare myself silly anymore than I already am.

SunshineOutdoors Thu 18-Oct-12 08:45:47

Oooh, it's you! Congratulations!!! Are you honeymooning?

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 08:52:43

Thx woody, will test tomorrow.

It'll be sods law if I get a BFP and a new job in the same week!

Hmmm just checking back over my app and it seems the last time I used the monitor I got AF 15dpo and I'm still only 14dpo as I ov'd cd17 this time and cd15 last time. So still not officially late.

MrsBri Thu 18-Oct-12 08:58:12

Yes, we are in Iceland :-) I can't sleep so am on here while DH snores next to me!

Ooh...POAS winkle! I hope sod's law does kick in! I don't know how you can wait. I tested 4 days early so found out stupidly early really. Now I'm pom pom waving at everyone else!!

SunshineOutdoors Thu 18-Oct-12 09:24:54

Fx winkle!

I'm on cd22 today, expecting to ovulate anytime between now and cd31...such a big window I need to keep on dtd for as long as poss! Going for a super shagging month again, so far dtd cd6, 8, 10(x2), 13, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21. Going to try for everyday for the next 10 days, although that might be a bit ambitious!

Paranoid times running out for a 2012 bfp, maybe it'll have to be a 2013 one.

I bet Iceland is stunning! Hope you're not feeling too sick.

MrsBri Thu 18-Oct-12 09:39:25

Not too sick...hungry and tired mainly. Feeling a bit sick today, but sure it'll pass.

I'm mostly scared, to be honest. :-(

That's a lot of shagging...fx for you!

Lolcbcblemonlime Thu 18-Oct-12 09:41:33

Oh we might have some action at the weekend then!
Gosh aren't we the queens of SS?!
Nic it's normal to be scared. Try not to panic and enjoy it! I know it's almost impossible but try...

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 18-Oct-12 10:27:03

Hi Nic. The honeymoon sounds great, have a fab time. Did anyone guess at your wedding?

sunshine good work with the shagathon best of luck.

winkle oh boo. I thought you were late already. Still no af is exactly what should be happening if its good news.

MrsBri Thu 18-Oct-12 11:01:48

We aren't sure...we think maybe one couple may have done. And maybe my boss whose look when I asked for a lemonade was a classic!

Time will tell :-)

woody17 Thu 18-Oct-12 11:06:17

lol have you tried using this - I just found it today:

My acupuncturist wanted to know about my cycle length as to when a test might show that I'm pg or not rather than a possible date of ov.

Sounds like you're having a great time nic

I know lol it seems impossible not to ss!

Sounds like a lot of dtd sunshine!

Lolcbcblemonlime Thu 18-Oct-12 11:36:21

Thanks woody. I just did it and if I put in I'm not sure when I ovd it says it happened on fri. That means I'm only 6 dpo and should not test until next Friday or the weekend!!!
I will wait and sit in limbo for the next few days and see how I feel.

woody17 Thu 18-Oct-12 11:50:46

I don't know if it's accurate but it definitely fits with the two times I've been pg. I think I've always tested too early. It's made me feel better in that it suggests that I've never tested +ve before the day that af is due.

Think Monday is going to feel like a long way away....although have quite a busy weekend from Saturday afternoon so hopefully that'll make it go by quicker!

sunshine - also have long/unpredictable cycles, really i might hav ov a bit earlirrvthan usual this month but going to have to keep dtd for at least another week side...zzzz... We can do it!

winkle - yay no af fx fx fx

nic - just stay away from some of the err local Icelandic delicacies (puffin & blueberry sauce anyone? No?) for the good of the queasiness!

Dtd y'day morn and going to dtd again tonight (cd 16) - i told myself we'd do at least eod from cd 12 - cd 22 and we have been sticking to it but it's knackering with ds who seems to have a sore ear this weekand has either been getting up at 5.45 or getting into bed with us during the night. Mood killer lol

woody17 Thu 18-Oct-12 16:29:22

Yuck - puffin and blueberry sauce sounds disgusting. I'm sure when one of my friends went there, he had fermented shark or something.

Im feeling so wrecked y'day & today...sooo wrecked! Y'day i thought it was cos work was hectic but today i've just had a pretty relaxing day at home with ds and its 6pm and i could honestly go to my bed. Im usually wrecked around ov but i cant remember if its usually.before or after... Ah i'd love some wine.

Oh well, here's some cyber malteaser squares & a fresh pot of (decaff!) tea for us all to share

MrsBri Thu 18-Oct-12 18:15:07

Yeah, puffin and whale feature heavily on menus here. Not having those or shark!

Almost went sleep on the bus back from the Blue Lagoon, so going to attempt a nap now!

Kittenkatzen Thu 18-Oct-12 18:21:25

littlemiss what's a malteser square?? Is that a real thing? shock if it is I need them in my life!

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 18:32:56

Sorry girls, there'll be no BFP here. I've started spotting and I've got the familiar rumbles. Trying to keep my spirits up by thinking it wouldn't be a good idea to have a new job and a BFP.

Will add sods law to the long list of things I've tried to get pregnant!!

Kittenkatzen Thu 18-Oct-12 18:37:36

Oh pants winkle that's crap I really had high hopes for you this month sad hope you have wine and chocolate in sad

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 18:41:22

I don't but I just had a biscuit - could def do with a glass of vino!!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 18-Oct-12 19:11:35

Aww winkle I was really rooting for you this month. You are right though a BFP and a new job could be an issue.

nic everything about Iceland sounds amazing (apart from the food)

I still feel really nauseous but it is all down to getting dds stomach bug, not BFP related. She has had diarrhoea for about 6 days now. Took her to the GPs and he said she seemed fine and it was probably just a virus. It was really nice, gave me rehydration sachets incase she needs them and said to bring her back if she doesn't improve in a few days.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 18-Oct-12 19:12:36

Oh winkle make sure you have some wine tonight.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 18-Oct-12 19:14:03

Bloody hell dd has just pooed again. This is the fourth time since 5pm. She seems quite happy apart from the stomach.

Lolcbcblemonlime Thu 18-Oct-12 19:22:17

Oh crap winkle I was so hoping it was your turn this month. It is devastating I know. You are allowed to feel sorry for yourself for a few days. And def enjoy some vino!!!

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 19:27:22

Hope your daughter feels better soon when.

Trying to be ok but really don't know what is left to try. Hub is back home soon and I know he's going to be devestated.

Lolcbcblemonlime Thu 18-Oct-12 19:30:20

Oh hun. Look after each other. What tests are left for you to have done??? I hope they haven't come up with that unexplained infertility crap cause that's even more annoying. That's why they are doctors! To explain things.
Do u have a plan of action for next few months?? Hope u feel better soon xx

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 19:41:57

Hub needs to have another SA. I've had bloods and a scan and all is clear so not sure what else is need to have?

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 19:42:35

I might go for every day next month! Not tried that!!

SunshineOutdoors Thu 18-Oct-12 19:46:11

Oh winkle I'm so so sorry. I really hoped it would happen for you. Hate the shit feeling of injustice, sorrow, anger and more sorrow. It is unfair and I know nothing I say will make you feel better. You do need to really treat yourself, have a good cry, do whatever you need to do over the next few days and then it will get easier and you'll be ready to try again.

I feel angry that too many people have been on these threads for too long.

Sending you a big virtual hug

MrsBri Thu 18-Oct-12 19:46:17

I'm so sorry, winkle...will you carry on with the soy though?

And I hope DD gets better soon, when.

It is awesome here, yes. :-)

SunshineOutdoors Thu 18-Oct-12 19:47:07

wine for you too

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Thu 18-Oct-12 20:31:30

I really feel bad for you and your dh winkle ttc is maddening.

Hope the second sa has better news for you both.

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 21:00:05

Really don't know how to feel.

Month 15 of trying coming up...

redstrawberry Thu 18-Oct-12 21:07:55

Oh winkle I am so sorry sad don't know what to say. Life is shit at times like these. Please be good to yourself and take each day at a time.

Big hug to you and hope your new job is starting soon so it gives you something else to focus on. Spoil yourself this weekend xxx

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 21:12:06

New job starts in a month so that's something to focus on. Going to try not to let it get me down cause we all know thinking about it doesn't help [rolls eyes]

woody17 Thu 18-Oct-12 23:19:33

Really sorry winkle xx

winkle2 Thu 18-Oct-12 23:23:09

Thanks woody.

Had a little cry about it earlier and husband says he really doesn't know what's left to say.

Lolcbcblemonlime Fri 19-Oct-12 07:55:41

What's your new job winkle? Is it same company or a brand new one?? More money??? Def something to keep your mind of things for a bit!

winkle2 Fri 19-Oct-12 09:22:45

Lol - new job, new company, much closer to home. No pay rise but will be saving £200 a month on travel. The benefits far outweigh the money side of it. And I've hated my job for two years! Tried to leave a few years back but then we got married and then stuck it out for another 18 months cause we were TTC. And then that hasn't happened so I just focused on getting a new job.

winkle2 Fri 19-Oct-12 09:26:19

I'm now holding out for 'they were trying for 14 months and nothing. As soon as she started a new job she got pregnant' anecdote.

woody17 Fri 19-Oct-12 09:57:49

winkle hope you are doing ok. New job sounds like it has a lot of benefits. When do you start your new one?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Fri 19-Oct-12 10:04:29

winkle that's what happened to my cousin. She had v stressful job. Got another one, it took a few months after that but she is now due in Feb (she was trying for 18 months).

winkle2 Fri 19-Oct-12 10:50:00

Hi woody I start 4 weeks today!

when - thanks I think I remember you talking about your cousin before. Yes, I'm hoping that not having to travel over an hour every today to a job I hate will help with the stress level and consequently get me my BFP!

I keep thinking though that I must have done something really bad to someone somewhere along the way for this to be happening to me.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Fri 19-Oct-12 11:54:43

I keep thinking though that I must have done something really bad to someone somewhere along the way for this to be happening to me.

Life doesn't work that way winkle. Shit things happen to the best of us. Wish I could say something to make you feel better but I can't, I am still certain if will happen for you. I just don't know when.

Kittenkatzen Fri 19-Oct-12 12:45:26

sad <hugs> winkle don't care if i'm not supposed to that here don't have anything to add that can make you feel better, but at least you know we're all here with you. Am v envy of your new job, sounds fab and I would love to be able to ditch my commute!

when hope your dd has stopped pooing and is feeling better now

Happy Friday everyone.....anyone got nice plans for the weekend? I have no plans at all which is awesome...might do some baking smile

winkle - oh ffs!!!! You poor thing, i am furious on your behalf, its just not fair sad sad

kitten - yes malteaser squares are a real thing, u shd make some this wkend if ur baking!

No news here, quiet wkend planned, resolutely ignoring wine and staying away from the vino. Dtd last night so night off tonight, dh going to a gig later and i really think.ov has already happened, just really.hope we caught it!! Off for a halloweeny walk in forest park with ds now!

winkle2 Fri 19-Oct-12 17:22:14

Thanks girls. Must be as tiring for you to perk me up as it is for me to be going through this!

Got a busy weekend ahead meeting friends both sat and sun so will have a couple of glasses of wine and nice food.

Might start a diet on Monday – might help…?

Yay for friends, wine & busy wkends, exactly what you need winkle - i dont know about diets, i fell pg easily with ds and i was pretty slim from having dieted to get into my wedding dress so I thought my weight/diet might have helped but i got pg just as quickly the last time and im at least a stone and a half above what I weighed round time of the wedding so don't do anything too drastic! That said i do follow some of zita wests tips re caffeine, alcohol etc when ttc, I take vit supplements and this month i've been trying a flax/linseed/goji berry thing. No idea if I'm more fertile but my hair looks shiny!!

weechops Fri 19-Oct-12 20:20:09

winkle sorry sad It's so shit for you.

I don't know if I'll even ov this month. cd18 and no smiley. Of course it had to be the month that I have dh home at the perfect time grr. I'm now torturing myself with the thought that even if I do ov tomorrow (ish) then my LP will only be 9/10 days so not much chance of a bean sticking.

weechops - maybe u just.missed the surge with yr opks?? I know they are v handy but they're not foolproof so fx thats been the case...

CM (sorry tmi) has been kind of watery / ewcm last few days but tonight its back to being a bit stickier so I think thats maybe another sign ov has already been and gone but i never ov so early so cant quite wrap my.mind round that. Wish we hadnt taken the day off on cd14 but hopong that cds 10, 13, and 15 will have me covered...stupid 2ww...

SunshineOutdoors Sat 20-Oct-12 07:46:00

Shit, dh too tired and stressed thurs night, and then went out last night and I fell asleep before he got back sad thought we'd dtd this am but dd's already up. Hoping she'll have a nap this morning, worried I've missed my opportunity now. So much for every day sad

winkle2 Sat 20-Oct-12 09:49:17

Dtd this arvo or tonight sunshine, you'll be fine smile

SunshineOutdoors Sat 20-Oct-12 10:28:21

Done it grin

How are you today winkle? Have you got anything nice on this weekend?

We're off to National Trust site Hardwick Hall today. Looks lovely and sunny for it

woody17 Sat 20-Oct-12 10:41:16

Hope everyone is ok!

Bit of a random question - for the last few days, I keep having to get up at 4/5am to go to the toilet. Should I count this as FMU or wait until I go again when I get up properly?

kittykatskumkwat Sat 20-Oct-12 11:06:34

Winkle sad just got back and wanted to check straight in, so gutted for you
Sunshine- the tea thing has happened to me and my friend aswell, luckily it was cold and the dregs but these things happen all the time
Good luck everyone else waiting to test

SunshineOutdoors Sat 20-Oct-12 11:11:34

Hi woody I think if you've been in bed for about 6 hrs the 4/5 am one will be fmu. I think if you wait and use the next wee it won't be proper fmu. Are you testing?

SunshineOutdoors Sat 20-Oct-12 11:12:24

Thanks kittykats everyone so nice and understanding about it. She should get the dressing off next week.

woody17 Sat 20-Oct-12 11:13:14

I'm going to test tomorrow or Monday. Don't think af is due until Monday though and I've never got a BFP early before! Still feeling really sick and boobs are so sore.

SunshineOutdoors Sat 20-Oct-12 11:43:58

Ooh, I'll be thinking of you this weekend then woody. I hope she doesn't make an appearance. Fx.

winkle2 Sat 20-Oct-12 13:07:18

Sunshine - seeing friends this evening which should be nice, altho sometimes I hate it because I feel I have to watch my hubby's drinking. Which is crap for me and for him.

Thanks kitty. Yeah it's crap sad

Woody - good luck xx

Kittenkatzen Sat 20-Oct-12 14:28:53

Ooh fx for you the woody keep us posted!

envy of your lovely weather sunshine it's grey, miserable and damp here in Sussex....definitely a baking day! littlemiss the malteser squares look yummy but I have to admit to being a little disappointed as in my head "malteser squares" were square maltesers - I thought it was a new type and was very excited for a moment there! blush

Kittenkatzen Sat 20-Oct-12 14:29:44

Oh and CD6 here, dtd this morning and may do may first ever ov test later, just for fun like grin

Lolcbcblemonlime Sat 20-Oct-12 19:05:01

How's everyone today? How's things winkle?
DH has some friends over so I'm hiding in my room watching come dine with me and waiting for X factor! Also having a beer blush

kitten - im from n ireland, home of traybakes & buns called 'squares' (coconut squares, caramel squares, malteaser squares) and i forget.not everyone will automatically know that i basically just mean.lovely chocolatey cake!

winkle - hope u and yr dh are able to.relax and enjoy seeing your friends tonight, celebrate new job and new cycle xx

woody , good luck if test tomorrow!!

sunshine - good job on.the shagging front, high five! Lol

Gorgeous day here today too - another long walk and pizza for tea with the in.laws. So wrecked today and y'day - havent worn.a scrap of make up (even mascara!! shock) since Thurs and needed a nap at lunchtime today. Altho im not certain.i think i prob ov on cd15 and its cd18 today so im only 3 or poss 4 dpo (tho shagging right thru til cd22 regardless) but is it possible to be feeling a 'bit' pg so soon? Boobs also feeling a bit strange.... Symptom spotting commences!!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Sat 20-Oct-12 19:49:14

sad and drinking wine

Spotting started today so this isn't my month. Oh we'll I had a feeling this wasn't the one.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Sat 20-Oct-12 19:53:31

Oh we'll = oh well stupid iPhone

redstrawberry Sat 20-Oct-12 20:16:46

Oh no sorry when sad Ttc is such a bitch.

I am glad you got vino to make you feel better. Hope you okay x

redstrawberry Sat 20-Oct-12 21:51:29

I am 8dpo I think today but I don't feel the slightest bit pregnant. Just having a miserable evening after seeing my pregnant friends lovely bump sad

Started off ttc so excited but now just hate the whole process. Just so disappointing and tiresome every month to go through this. sad

Kittenkatzen Sat 20-Oct-12 22:39:58

sad red sorry you're feeling down, it's horrible isn't it feeling torn between feeling happy for your friend and gutted for yourself. Frustrating just doesn't cover it really. Have a hug from someone who knows exactly how you feel x

kittykatskumkwat Sun 21-Oct-12 07:02:01

I'm sorry when sad and red, TTC really can get you down! I hope red your wrong, you really don't always get tell take signs that are right and often it can work the other way
Good luck little miss and kitten with your ov sticks, I love them grin

red - i never get a bfp until at least 12/13 dpo and when I was pg with ds we werent ttc and my cycles were irregular so I.only thought to take a test when I started to feel a few symptoms and that wasnt til 5 weeks pg. Hope lack of symptoms means nothing and you'll get your bfp next week.

when - what a bummer sad hope vino helped. New cycle is a new chance so fx for u for this one

kitten - you been using your ov stocks yet? Seen a smily?

Dtd last night even tho im secretly googling symptoms 4 dpo, just in case im wrong and ov is going to happen on cd19 like it usually would have pre-mc. Incidentally...its cd19 today!!

Stocks = sticks (doh)

redstrawberry Sun 21-Oct-12 07:46:43

Thanks kitten and I hope you are right kitty and littlemiss I am not sure when I OVed and may have OVed late from stress at work. So maybe that's why no symptoms. Just hate the 2ww

Going to try and enjoy the rest of next week before AF arrives. What's everyone got planned for Sunday? I am off to a baby shower that I have organised grin

SunshineOutdoors Sun 21-Oct-12 08:22:58

Oh when, I'm sorry. You're another poster who's so nice you don't deserve af
(Tbf that describes all of you on here)
angry on your behalf

I hope you're treating yourself and had wine last night.

red try not to feel down I don't think you're supposed to have any symptoms at this point. I know what you mean about the process going from something exciting to something unenjoyable though. Try and plan lots of things in your day so you don't think about the 2ww - and if you manage it please tell me how!

Kittenkatzen Sun 21-Oct-12 09:30:27

Well aren't you a bunch of early birds!

when sorry about AF, I hope you are horribly hungover this morning from all the wine last night

littlemiss did the first one yesterday grin was -ve of course (cd6!) but I was still so excited I took it downstairs to show DH! His response was "ewww has that got your pee on it??" grin

Nothing much planned for today - will be baking some granola bars and a quiche and re-hanging the curtain rail in our's all rock and roll in the kitten household! red a hike and a brewery visit sounds perfect, enjoy!

Kittenkatzen Sun 21-Oct-12 09:32:13

Ha! Doh, ignore that comment red - there's another red on a different thread and I got confused! Hope the baby shower goes well grin

Lolcbcblemonlime Sun 21-Oct-12 10:16:57

Morning girls. Red, I'm the same as you. Convinced myself I was pg last month then came down with a thud. So this month I'm not keeping my hopes up. I'm 10 dpo I think and trying not to SS like last month.
Hope everyone else is feeling positive!

woody17 Sun 21-Oct-12 11:22:41

Morning everyone - haven't tested yet. I couldn't get a FRER yesterday (my local tescos have stopped stocking them) but will be able to get one today. Going to test in the morning. Still having the sore boobs and nausea.

when really sorry that af arrived.

red hope the baby shower goes well.

weechops Sun 21-Oct-12 13:48:04

When really sorry af got you. Evil witch sad

Red hope you have a good time at the baby shower. I've never been to one before.

I'm going to assume I ov cd15 as usual and I just missed the smiley or else I'll feel shit til November! So 5dpo today and not feeling a thing. I'm just going to start making the soup for Sunday dinner before I head to the hospital to see my dad. Thanks for all the kind thoughts btw. He has end stage copd so probably a year to live but he's hard work tbh!

Still feeling wrecked here - only been last 3 days, fortnight before that I was feeling very energised, rosy cheeked and shiny haired with all my pre-natal vits. Really trying not to read too much into it tho I am setting myself up for a big fall by convincing myself I'm def pg

weechops- 5dpo is v early to hav any symptoms, im the crazy one thinking every twinge and/or yawn is a sign!!

woody - good luck for poas 2moro, its sounding v positive!

kitten - lol at your squeamish dh, im not sure if you are ttc no.1 but if that's the case it is amazing how much less squeamish you end up being about body fluids after pg, childbirth and b/f. I used to be pretty uptight and i am a letting it all hang out hippie now (well a wee bit, im still an irish mammy after all lol)

woody17 Mon 22-Oct-12 08:44:07

Tested and got an incredibly faint line but it's definitely there. Guess all the 'symptoms' were signs. Really hope that this one works out.

SunshineOutdoors Mon 22-Oct-12 09:36:51

Wow woody well done! Are you going to test again in a few days?

So pleased for you! Hooray again!!!

Kittenkatzen Mon 22-Oct-12 09:47:27

Yay woody congratulations, what a lovely start to the week! Fingers tightly crossed for a sticky one smile

littlemiss yep ttc #1, how could you tell! wink I'm trying to break DH in a little by subjecting him to as many Midwives/OBEM re-runs as I can!

weechops hope you had a nice visit with your dad yesterday

red how did the baby shower go?

CD8 for going to go with ov sticks twice a day and hope I can catch ov that way. FX.

woody17 Mon 22-Oct-12 10:03:41

Thank you everyone. I am very happy but very nervous.

Thank you sunshine. I think I might get a CB digital one and use it at the weekend - just to see the words 'pregnant'. Just going to assume all is ok unless I bleed a lot.

Thank you kitten - I know, I really really really hope it sticks! FX that you catch ov. I used CB OBKs this month and conceive plus for the first time.

red how was the baby shower?

weechops hope your soup was nice and that your visit went ok.

SunshineOutdoors Mon 22-Oct-12 11:17:26

<puts conceive plus on shopping list>

weechops Mon 22-Oct-12 14:49:34

woody that's fantastic, congratulations! smile

littlepinkfizz Mon 22-Oct-12 15:07:10

Woody when did you Dtd with regards to your smiley? I'm on cd 11 today and have really slippery cm which is very looks like ewcm but no smiley this morning. I feel the cb opk is wrong. Could I be right?

winkle2 Mon 22-Oct-12 15:11:53

Congrats Woody, that is great news!

When – sorry she got you sad

I've not been around as I've had a busy weekend and a very boozy week, been celebrating the new job a bit too hard and much wine has been consumed! Back to being good from today!

CD4 here and took the soy again last night. Taking it from CD3-7 again.

Been reading up a lot about morphology and it seems that it is the reason why it's taking us so long to conceive. But there is so much conflicting info out there. Can't wait to be referred to a specialist so we can ask questions and get proper answers.

redstrawberry Mon 22-Oct-12 16:18:56

oh woody congratulations! I am soo pleased for you. Fx the line gets very dark.

Baby Shower was fab. I was ecstatic hosting it and the games were ridiculous but a good laugh, just what I needed.

However sunshine i dont think you can ever forget about ttc. Especially when a nice mum at the baby shower who was chatting to me for ages turned around and asked "how old are your little ones?" I guess I must have sounded very broody. Not her fault.

Roll on 10dpo I guess! Still nothing major except an increased appetite. Which I guess I am putting down to comfort eating. I so need to stop doing that as I am just putting more weight on than loosing it < slowly puts down leftover cupcake from baby shower >

hahaha kitten if only I was at a brewery! I'd run the place dry. Haven't drank much this month.

winkle2 Mon 22-Oct-12 17:00:21

glad you had fun at the baby shower red.

I've started my diet today for the millioneth time this year! Keep putting it off cause I think I'll get fat and pregnant anyway. Well I'm half way there!

woody - yay, congrats!! it did sound v positive for you last few days so i'm not surprised you got your BFP today!! really fx for you that it's a sticky one but all you can do now is celebrate!! (before the morning sickness starts grin)

winkle - welcome back to the land of sobriety wink i know exactly what you mean re: contradictory information, even different drs seem to completely disgree with each other. After i had the scan which showed mmc, consultant came down and told me not to try again for 4 months. As soon as she left the room the senior midwife said we could start ttc again straight away. Wtf? Totally diff opinions from diff medical professionals within...err...2 mins of each other!!

littlepink - i think slippery CM means that you are fertile, and you are supposed to start dtd about 3 days before you ov in order to get plenty of..err..swimmers inside you before you actually ov. So if you do have slippery CM then it helps swimmers swim, and even if there's no smily yet you might as well start dtd plenty anyway!

red - lol i am def hungrier than usual over last couple of days. pretty sure i'm just being a greedy mare tho!

sunshine - i bought conceive plus last month. haven't gotten round to using it yet. the syringe applicator thingys are intimidating! also got grapefruit juice on shopping list for next month...

Nothing new here, today, on cd20. Took night off shagging last night so back to dtd tonight. So far we've managed cds 6, 7, 10, 13, 15, 16 and 18. Not sure what day I ov so going to dtd tonight and cd 22 too just to be on safe side, won't test til cd30 (pre-mc cycle was 33 days). 10 days to go!

redstrawberry Mon 22-Oct-12 19:30:45

I tried the conceive plus - didn't work for me sad nor did the grapefruit juice.

winkle I'm thinking of dieting tomorrow. I dunno I have a belly like a pregnant woman after eating dinners n need to loose weight! I don't wanna get fat before I get pregnant. I have just scoffed a large box of pizza and feel so bad :'(

woody17 Mon 22-Oct-12 22:05:25

Thank you for all your nice messages - trying to be positive and keep telling myself that there's no reason that this one won't work out.

littlepinkfizz - I ended up getting a smiley on 2 days of this cycle, almost 2 weeks apart! For the first one, we dtd three days before, one day before, the day of, 2 days after, 4 days after. With the second smiley, we dtd about 3 days before and the day of. After the first smiley, I got ewcm about a week later - we'd dtd two days before that and we dtd the day of the ewcm.

littlemisssnowshine hope the next 10 days go by quickly.

Glad the baby shower went well red

winkle glad you celebrated hard!

winkle2 Mon 22-Oct-12 22:40:20

Woody when do you think you ov'd then? That's weird having 2 smileys!

woody17 Mon 22-Oct-12 22:42:00

I have absolutely no idea winkle!

Opks can giv u weird results if you have any kind of hormone imbalance, you didnt know about, which might explain two smilys! Or you.ov twice and you're having twins. grin

6, 7, 10, 13, 15, 16, 18..& 20!!

woody17 Tue 23-Oct-12 09:09:12

Yes, I'm thinking it must of been down to hormones littlemisssnowshine, especially as I was always having sore boobs are nausea at that point!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 23-Oct-12 10:33:36

Congrats woody so pleased for you. I thought it would be good news with all your symptoms.

Bad news here. Had long heart felt chat with dh and he thinks we should have a two month break from ttc. He doesn't want a baby born as the youngest in the year. He was small for his age and born in summer (still is petite) and was bullied at school (primary). He says he doesn't want the same for his child.

I was a bit gutted I just want to keep trying but I can see where he is coming from.

We are having blood tests to check for any possible chromosomal abnormalities so we should get them back at the end of Nov. I am going to spend the rest if the year trying to get healthy, going to start exercising again and eating better.

winkle2 Tue 23-Oct-12 11:15:09

wow littlemiss, you are dedicated to the cause dtd that early in the morning!

when – a couple of months break might do you good. TBH I'm kinda writing off this year and going go for it properly next year. new year, new beginning, etc. Make sure you let us know how the tests go.

winkle - actually it was late last night, just updating this morning. I think out of all the days we dtd only one was a morning time one cos DS is up with the birds!

when- I think the school year works differently in NI, the oldest in the year are born in july and the youngest are born in june if that makes sense, but my DH is the same, he has a June birthday so he was nearly the youngest in his year and we were also a bit iffy about wanting to ttc in September because of the likelihood of the baby being born in June. If I got pg this month I'd be due in July, so that would be perfect for me, but i completely understand why you would want to think about having a child that would be young for their year...

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Tue 23-Oct-12 14:01:00

Thanks for the replies winkle and littlemiss.

I think a little break would do us good. I think dh is just worried about having a son who will be small like him. If this imaginary small son is old for the year at least be gets a head start. I am more worried about them struggling to keep up (am convinced dc 2 will be a girl) academically.

I just want to get preg but am so frightened of getting another cp so I think it would be best to leave it for a while.

SunshineOutdoors Tue 23-Oct-12 16:50:29

Ah when I feel your frustration but a break might be good for you. Ttc can be very emotionally draining.

Well, the everyday plan isn't happening, we doing eod instead. Everyday is too tiring st the moment! Tmi but dh reckons his semen doesn't come out as fast or as much when it's everyday so his theory is we've got more chance with eod anyway. I hope he's right.

Not feeling excited about upcoming 2ww anymore though. It's just stopped feeling like it's going to happen. winkle I think I'm the same as you just expecting it to be next year rather than this.

winkle2 Tue 23-Oct-12 16:52:32

I'm gonmna try every day method this month if I can (only when the CBFM tells me to, not all month!).

kittykatskumkwat Tue 23-Oct-12 17:37:23

Sorry things arnt going to plan when sad maybe a break will help re ignite your fires and enthusiasm again?! I think trying to conceive around dates is a tricky thing to do though, with dd I was due 21st sept and though perfect, she decided otherwise and came 31st aug making her literally the youngest in school! I think if I were worried come the time I would keep her back a year but I know alot of people it hasn't caused any problems for aswell, my cousin is an aug baby and is half way through medical school in the top percent do I'm not sure how much difference it really makes?!
I hope you come to a decision your both happy with though x

Kittenkatzen Tue 23-Oct-12 18:01:25

sad when that is bad news, but completely understandable of your DH had a rough time of it in school. Good luck for all the tests in the meantime though.

littlemiss I'm knackered just reading that, surely this has to be your month - no little egg could escape that onslaught! grin

Just had a minor heart attack - logged onto fb to see a post that made me think for a moment that my 19 yr old nephew's girlfriend was pg!! My face looked like shock and I very nearly burst into tears on the train. Thankfully it turns out to be her older sister, but still. I do NOT want to be a great aunt before I'm a mother thanks very much sadangrysad <deep breaths>

kitten - oh flip!! Thank goodness your nephew is holding off for the time being - phew! I know its not a race but it feels like one sometimes doesnt it?

winkle - good luck! Better start on the protein shakes for stamina!!eod is most i can manage but if i was able to pinpoint ov i'd prob do the same smile

sunshine - i hear ya! At.least we can reassure ourselves that eod is nhs clinical.excellence guidance for couples ttc...and it certainly feels

Cd21 - going to dtd 2moro and Fri and then declare the shagathon.concluded and obsess over every poss symptom.for a week patiently wait tild cd30 to poas. 9 days (& 2 more shags) to go!!

SunshineOutdoors Tue 23-Oct-12 21:22:17

littlemiss I think you're the same as me with stupid erratic and long cycles. Cd27 here and still don't think I've ovulated yet, but been dtd lots since cd14 just in case. Need to keep going for another week I think, I'd be gutted to miss it.

redstrawberry Tue 23-Oct-12 22:23:34

sunshine what you say abt the 2ww is exactly how I feel. Not excited anymore as I don't believe it's going to happen this year. I have totally given up hope of ever seeing those 2 lines on a stick sad just don't like this ttc process one bit. If anything it's making me angrier and miserable the more I think about next month another cycle. Fed up of waiting.

SunshineOutdoors Tue 23-Oct-12 23:05:32

Oh red I'm sorry it's making you feel that way. I feel like I'm reaching that way too. Trying not to think about how upset and angry I'll be when af comes again.

The only positive thing I can think is that maybe we're getting close to the point where you genuinely think 'sod it, I can't do this anymore' and actually stop ttc (instead of just trying and failing to not think about it). Everyone knows that's the time you actually get pregnant isn't it? It happened on Neighbours and everything....

Seriously though, hugs to you and treat yourself nicely smile

Sunshine - Yes erratic cycle buddies! I think I did ov this cycle and I have a feeling it was around cd15 but because I can't be 100% sure I am going to dtd tonight and friday so I'll have kept up the shagathon right through to cd24 and you can't really say fairer than that I think! If I did ov on cd15 tho I'd be 6 DPO now and I can't say I have any really noticable symptoms. Damnit!

red - I know sad I've really only started ttc again this month but we started in March, I got pg in June and lost the baby at the end of July, had d&c at the start of Aug and I've been in limbo land since. It's annoying because we started talking about ttc back in January but decided to wait til after we'd been on holiday in Feb. Really wish we'd just started sooner, we def would have if I knew how long it would take sad And now if and when I do get a BFP i'm going to be so so so paranoid about losing it that I won't be able to relax even a bit for at least the first 12 weeks.

CD22 here anyway. 8 days til poas-day (and it still might be too early to get a bfp! stupid cycles!)

winkle2 Wed 24-Oct-12 11:47:32

red - I know exactly how you feel. I don't get excited anymore, I hate this whole process. I'm fed up of endlessly banging away for nothing at the end of it.

I did get some good advice the other day from here, it said you are more likely to have children rather than not. The odds are with you and not against you. So try and remember that.

But yeah it's a shite waiting game and has totally taken the shine off the experience. Excitement and anticipation as been replaced with anxiety and worry.

redstrawberry Wed 24-Oct-12 13:34:01

I think I have 4 day left littlemiss till AF arrives. Sorry about the mc in July sad I had a CP at the end of July and since then I just keep thinking I should have been 3 months pregnant by now and it hurts everytime I think about it.

Just hoping the days go quick so I can start with the endless shagging again.

Winkle thanks for sharing that. I think I haven't lost hope but I am almost at breaking point. Fx it happens soon for all of us.

SunshineOutdoors Wed 24-Oct-12 18:57:43

I was so bloody cheery and positive when I first came on these threads. Now I just feel pretty cynical sad
Bet it won't stop me from getting my hopes up before af arrives though sad

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Wed 24-Oct-12 19:28:41

Still lurking away and keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

Really hope you get a BFP red I am still struggling to key go of my first cp (somehow the that was the worst one). Got my fingers crossed for you all.

SunshineOutdoors Thu 25-Oct-12 08:41:16

Sorry for being so negative...

red and littlemiss I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Really hope it's the month for both of you.... more bfps would be amazing!

No sign of af yet? Do you both have an idea of when you'd test if she doesn't arrive?

I'm on cd29 today... my last 3 cycles have been 42 days, 43 days and 39 days... so it's more than likely I'm already in 2ww, but going to keep it up eod to be sure. It sounds silly, but because I have felt so negative about getting pg, I've been enjoying dtd more for its own sake, rather than to get pg. I'm hoping that means it's more likely to get me pg! <the ultimate straw clutcher>

SunshineOutdoors Thu 25-Oct-12 18:57:09

weechops and littlepink how are you both doing? Think you must be in 2ww? Or soon?

And kitten?

Who else is still here and not too far off ov-ing or testing?

stickybeans Thu 25-Oct-12 19:47:56

I'm still here Sunshine I'm on cycle 3 post mc in July. Ttc #1. I feel I have reached that breaking point and have not put that much effort into this cycle. But surprisingly I feel way better than I did in my previous months. I have just convinced myself that I'm not pregnant and it keeps me from obsessing. I'm about 8-9dpo and havent poas at all. I refuse to buy a test until after af is late.
Fx for you all, I'm sure it will be our time soon

Hello everyone! Cd23 today, i originally intended to dtd last night butforgot we had free tix to go out to this open.airplay thing so got back a bit late. We'll do it tonight tho & then im flipping poas in a week's time. Trying to feel neutral...not overly excited so im not disappointed but not too down either, trying to stay on an even keel. Tough though! Hope everyone else is doing well smile

redstrawberry Thu 25-Oct-12 21:33:44

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I haven't had any symptoms. Just feel very tired today. Was snoring by 7.30pm blush and felt a few twinges near abdomen. Not getting my hopes up. Same as you littlemiss just balancing it out.

I will POAS on Halloween (booooooo) if she doesn't show this weekend. I am due Sat but OV was late so guess she might be late this month.....unless I'm knocked up. This is just plain torture.

red - torture is right! On top.of everything else both times i've been pg i've had really bad HG for 8 weeks, almost constant puking, nausea, dizziness and exhaustion. Difficult to drive, v tricky to look after a toddler and almost impossible to go to work so knowing that that means the odds are prob stacked so I'll get it again means I'm kind of dreading getting a bfp as much as I want one and its hard to make firm plans to do anything in work or with friends for late-Nov cos if I get bfp at start of nov it would kick in after a couple of weeks. This ttc def is torturous!

weechops Fri 26-Oct-12 07:14:05

Hey sunshine yep in the 2ww. 10dpo and not feeling like testing early for a change. I'll test Monday i think as af is due mon/ tue. I feel very relaxed? Resigned? Dunno this month, as it was a long shot anyway. Probably won't stop me being disappointed with a bfn though!

SunshineOutdoors Fri 26-Oct-12 08:27:28

Hi stickybeans <waves> hope the next few days bring nothing in the way of af. I'm with you on not testing until definitely late. If you need help keeping that resolve just come back on.

weechops looks like not testing early is the current way to go. Hope it ends in af not coming. Make sure you have a lovely weekend and try not to think about ttc.

I've got a scary but fun weekend coming up. Going out to a proper nightclub for the first time since before I got pregnant with dd who's now 14 months. Back to basics in Leeds, I'm worried I'm going to feel old and untrendy but also looking forward to having a good old dance. Me and dh are staying at a hotel in Leeds too so it will be a lovely break away. A nice change from my life of looking after a baby and obsessing about having another one.

Any other nice plans for anyone this weekend?

SunshineOutdoors Fri 26-Oct-12 08:28:23

littlemiss that play sounded good but cold! Was it a well known play?

winkle2 Fri 26-Oct-12 09:32:27

Hey everyone. Been quiet as been busy with work etc but been reading. CD8 today and the monitor says high so will be dtd tonight. Going to aim for every day this month (until after monitor peaks). Hub did his second sperm sample yesterday too so should get the results next week.

SunshineOutdoors Fri 26-Oct-12 09:34:35

Hi winkle I was thinking the other day that given my bloody long cycle you'd prob be in your next 2ww when I'm still in mine. cd30 today and still not sure I've ov-ed.

Kittenkatzen Fri 26-Oct-12 09:51:17

Hello hello I'm still here, just been really busy with work this week.

winkle fx for good test results next week.

Lots of you seem to be 2wwing at the moment, so fx for all of you. I think I must be the odd one out atm then - CD12 for me so waiting for ov any day now. Have had ewcm since Tuesday but no +ve opk yet. Not sure what to make of that. Have only dtd late on Monday night though - must make an effort to jump DH tonight so we're at least in with a slim chance.

sunshine your weekend sounds fab, I can't remember the last time I went properly clubbing and I don't even have kids! Love a good dance though.

Am VERY excited about this weekend as I'm off to the O2 tomorrow night to see Muse which is going to be flipping awesome gringringrin

winkle2 Fri 26-Oct-12 14:28:53

I feel your pain sunshine. My cycles were long and irregular but fingers crossed they seem to have settled down to 29/30 days.

sunshine - that sounds great, nothing like a night out dancing!!

And enjoy muse kitten!

winkle - good to hear from u! Im just finished this month's shagfest and ur about to start! Fx for us both smile dont work too hard, uou'll be off to your new job soon

Im spending much of the weekend up a mountain(tho thankfully on a hostel rather than a tent!) with a bunch of teenagers for go karting and halloweeny fun. Should be back to go to halloween fireworks aith dh & ds on.sunday tho

I concluded my cd 6, 7, 10, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20 and 23 shag fest last night. Poas in 6 days!!

winkle2 Fri 26-Oct-12 20:11:25

Well done littlemiss on all the dtd!

SunshineOutdoors Fri 26-Oct-12 20:44:58

Ha littlemiss I really hope it's our month. I've done cd6, 8, 10 (x2), 13, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 24 (x2), 26, 28 and hopefully tonight on cd30. Really hope I've done enough this month because it's getting quite exhausting. Dd's waking in the night at the mo and up in the mornings at 6am. I'm tired!

SunshineOutdoors Fri 26-Oct-12 20:46:01

littlemiss your weekend sounds good fun. Is that for work or leisure time?

SunshineOutdoors Fri 26-Oct-12 20:46:25

And whereabouts is your mountain?

winkle2 Fri 26-Oct-12 21:03:19

Good going sunshine!!

redstrawberry Fri 26-Oct-12 21:18:56

Good going Sunshine and littlemiss that's a bloody good shagfest!

I'm due on tomorrow. But im hoping we caught it and she's late.... So just waiting endlessly.

sunshine - i take my hat off, thats quite an epic shag fest!! Yes it is for work (love my job!) and its in the mournes in co. Down

red - fx that when i check back in on Sunday that af is nowhere in sight!!!

winkle2 Fri 26-Oct-12 22:17:37

Fx red x

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Fri 26-Oct-12 23:35:05

Hi all just checking in.

Best of luck with dtd winkle

Hope you get some good news soon red littlemiss weechops and kitten

Nothing much going on here. Dh had his bloods taken today. Not sure how long it will take for the redults to come back. Hoping my next appointment will be with someone a little more knowledgeable.

Have a great Halloween.

Kittenkatzen Sat 27-Oct-12 09:17:22

Good work on the shagathons littlemiss and sunshine you must both be knackered grin

littlemiss have fun go karting up a mountain! <sounds dangerous>

Oooh red keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow then, keep us posted.

when fx for your DHs test results

I'm sure I've missed people so hi to everyone else! smile

Well I didn't get to jump DH last night as he ended up going out and getting trashed having a few drinks. So I reckon that's us out for this month as we've only managed to dtd three times on cd1, cd6 and cd8. CD13 today so am pretty sure ov will have been and gone by now. Oh well. sad

SunshineOutdoors Sat 27-Oct-12 11:31:56

red I'm thinking of you today and really hope af doesn't come

winkle2 Sat 27-Oct-12 12:03:58

I agree sunshine

Lolcbcblemonlime Sat 27-Oct-12 15:15:45

Afternoon lovelies. Have been quietly lurking since af appeared on thu.
Focusing on positives and trying not to eel sorry for mussel. Bought cb ov sticks and am back on epo this month.
Will try and take it easy as its ages until ov so don't want to obsess.
Out for dinner tonight and will enjoy some dorm of alcohol (or two)!! Would not be my first choice but hey ho.
How's everyone else? Any good news?

redstrawberry Sat 27-Oct-12 19:18:24

Hope you and DH get the results of the blood work soon when..

Don't loose hope kitten it only takes may have still caught it.

The latest on AF watch - she's not here yet. I woke up this morning totally convinced I am not pregnant. As the day went on I had a lot wet creamy cm blush and a bit nauseaous and very tired. Still not reading into it. Will give it till Halloween as I have been thru this hell so many times now I can't POAS. Just want to be sure I am late before I take a test. So please don't beg me to pee on a stick. Just some hand holding for he next 3 days.

Although I think I'm so prepared for AF to arrive I'm hoping I won't feel too sad when she appears as I haven't gotten my hopes up one bit.

So need a glass of wine today!!!! Argh! The stress. But not drinking either....

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Sat 27-Oct-12 19:32:52

red I'll hold you'd hand and keep you away from the sticks.

I have to admit though the creamy cm sounds good. Just before af I am usually as dry as a desert

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful Sat 27-Oct-12 19:37:18

Sorry I am sure that was too much info.

Mind bleach available if needed.

winkle2 Sat 27-Oct-12 19:44:10

Keeping my fingers crossed for you red and will not beg you to poas as I don't like to do it too early as well.

redstrawberry Sat 27-Oct-12 21:50:11

Thanks xx

when no worries - I'm normally the same before AF....glad I got a busy few days at work and tomorrow too. Less time to think abt it.

winkle2 Sun 28-Oct-12 00:05:33

Cd9 and have done the first dtd of the month.

redstrawberry Sun 28-Oct-12 09:12:44

I am glad I didn't get my hopes up much. Just saw a bit of pink on wiping. She's on the way sad

I am out of trying new things, just given up now. Just scared I won't be pregnant by the end of this year :'(

Kittenkatzen Sun 28-Oct-12 09:28:13

sad red sorry she got you, I empathise with you feeling like it won't happen. Try and stay chin up though, it will happen at some point. Be kind to yourself today.

winkle2 Sun 28-Oct-12 11:19:42

Oh so sorry red sad

Massive hugs - I know how you feel. I'm dreading Xmas this year if I'm not pregnant cause I know all my family will be wondering.

winkle2 Sun 28-Oct-12 11:28:04

Can I ask everyone if you time sex around OV or have sex throughout the month?

During the 15 months we've been TTC we've mostly timed sex around OV, ie, starting around cd10 and finishing around cd20ish. We are using the CBFM.

Recently Ive been saying to my husband that we should be making and effort to dtd when I'm not OV too but he says he wants to concentrate on the OV times cause he doesn't want to tire himself out dtd when we're not going to get pregnant.

What do you think?

redstrawberry Sun 28-Oct-12 11:49:11

Weirdly enough DH and I have been discussing the same. We only have sex in my fertile window. Cd8-cd18. But thinking of goin for it after cd18 too this time around.

I am not too bad. Kind of prepared for it as I had literally no symptoms this month..
