Apologies for the mini-rant...

TTC#3. Had a MMC in March followed by 2 ERPCs. First proper cycle after MC was 28 days - longer than normal, (normal cycle is 24 days) but I was expecting it to be after MMC.

2nd cycle 24 days, ie back to normal. Not sure I ovulated because OPK was borderline +ve

This cycle, no obvious +OPK but its possible I missed it. Started having AF-like cramps and nausea on CD21. Did a test, BFN. This carried on all last week, every day BFN still with PG symptoms. By CD25 I assumed AF was coming, but it still hasn't arrived. CD28 today and still have cramps, still BFN.

I've had a whole week of feeling really crap and I've spent a fortune on HPTs. I don't know WTF is going on. Are anovulatory cycles longer than ovulatory cycles??? I don't really think I'm pg because the one symptom I don't have which I've had with my other pgs is rampant hunger (ie I have to eat NOW). DH being no help at all (lukewarm about trying again in the first place...)

I'm on CD 31, regular 28 day cycle. Have done a grand total of 5 HPTs, one 3 days before AF due, one 1 day before AF due, 1 2 days after AF due, all BFN. Did one an hour ago and got a BFP though! I thought you'd always get a positive by teh first day AF is due, but it seems not. I was feeling totally confused and in limbo too. Perhaps we're in teh same boat though, pregnant but it just not showing up until loooonnng looong days after AF due. Good luck.

Congratulations sarahscot! Still no AF here, did a HPT yesterday and BFN. Don't really feel PG tbh, think its just a wacky cycle and just want AF to arrive now. Am very impatient.

Hi all,
im new to mums net and have finally worked up the courage to post something. I know alot of you may be in the same position but afer a year of trying to cocieve im still not pregnant. I thought through mums net I would be able to get the support and understanding of others who are going through the same or have had experience in the past. I have never discussed my problem with anyone other than my husband, and I just need girly advice

Newbie here as well. Over Christmas I had what was probably an anovulatory cycle ('twas a very stressful Christmas due to lots of factors outside our control). I didn't feel pregnant, but tested anyway when AF was a week late. BFN, and AF arrived the next day.

At least in my experience, anovulatory cycles are long ones.

waterloo51 I think it is worth you starting a new post in conception but if I were you, I would be going to your drs. They can do basic blood tests to check whether you are ovulating and go from there. Depending on where you are, there can be long waiting lists for gynae appointments so it is worth getting in now. Make sure you tell gp that you are not getting a positive on OPKs. They are not foolproof as lots of people will tell you but it might suggest that there is a problem and it also might stop the GP fobbing you off.

tomboy I've had quite a bit of stress recently (in addition to the mc) so I guess that could be causing it. AF is nearly a week late so fx it appears soon.

i'm currently on what seems to be an anovulatory cycle and it's been 62 days since my last period, so that should tell you how long they can be

Bugger dicegirl - 62 days between periods is fine as long as you're not TTC . Do you get a lot of anovulatory cycles - would you expect your next cycle to be more normal? I'm wondering at what point I go to the GP because I have no patience at all.

haha exactly, i wouldn't be complaining any other time! No this is actually my first one so i'm hoping it's just a blip and i'll be back to normal next month, but i have got an appointment for friday just to be on the safe side, and like you i'm impatient on the plus side, i'm sure i had signs of ovulating on the weekend so i'm hoping i'm still in with a slight chance!

I've read that it's normal to have one or two anovulatory cycles a year even if you're perfectly healthy and fertile otherwise.

tomboy I know, and I'm sure its happened to me before, but its never put my cycles out like this. Its not knowing how long its going to take before AF comes that plays with your head.

Horrible, isn't it?

I'm in a similar boat myself at the moment, though for a different reason. I broke my collarbone 6 weeks ago and needed surgery, and AF has been AWOL since. About every two weeks I get cramps and think things are finally returning to normal, but then nothing more happens.
