Conception

I need a reality check - has anyone managed to conceive with very poor sperm count?

My DH has now had 3 poor semen anaylsis results. He has v low count and motility.

We've been TTC for 2 years and beginning to realise it may never happen and wondering whether there's any point continuing to try. I don't want to kid myself every month that I'm in with a chance if there really is none, it's just too upsetting

We don't qualify for IVF or any other treatment on the NHS as we have one DD already.

Has anyone else been in this position? I'm interested in your stories - did you manage to conceive naturally? Or not?

Hello...I was in the same situation a few years ago, we were both tested and the results were the same as yours...I really thought that was it!!
We decided to try and relax and put it on the back burner, as it was taking over our lives and causing so much stress!!!.
We did not go on a major health kick, take tablets, just did everything in moderation...we still went out drank wine, and generally tried to get back to being a couple again.
3 months later I was pregnant...DD is 7 next week...DS is 5.
So as you can see I does happen! just can take some time!
2 years trying is a long time, and I know how hard and upsetting the whole ttc thing is.
I hope this is of some help?...all I can say is try and relax...it can be done even with low count.X

Hi - i had same situation - we were trying found out after a year that i had PCOS and DP had low sperm count. we tried clomid for a while then after 2 1/2 yrs decided to try for ivf - but while we waited for appointment me stopped thinking about it (didnt think it could happen without ivf) i started losing a little weight and hey presto i am now 24 weeks pregnant!! so yes these things can happen - know its hard but i think you have to relax into it and try not to think about it so much (easier to say than do i know!!)
Hope you find success!!
