TTC after a Miscarriage - Keep Trying!!!!

Well ladies, its about time we had a new thread, the old one is getting very long. Plus I think we need another fresh start, with lots of positive babydust:

.,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'- .,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',.

Get a big handful girls, i think we all need it.
I was trying to think of something great and positive to put, but this TTC lark is getting us all down, i'm fed up of trying, but we will all succeed eventually, our times will come.

It will be much better for our little ones to have a good start when our bodies are truly ready to carry them.

Hellkat - Sorry iwasn't on to chat monday, hope you got on ok and the results come in soon.
Thanks to you all for caring and wondering where i am. I was trying to avoid mumsnet for a while, see if maybe i could get all thsi ttc out of my mind and relax a bit, but its still there and i missed you all, plus i'd hate for one of you to go through something horrible and me not be here to offer my support.

It's nice to have you back diddle, it's not the same without you. But you mustn't get to caught up with ttc. I've found since I've been on here it has made me a lot more aware of it and I think about it all the time. So it is good to try and take a step back. But we're all here to chat out our problems, not get obsessed with them. Just sit back, relax, chat and it'll happen in it's own sweet time. (I wish I could practice what I preach!)

Is this my period already?

Background before the question...

Had a missed miscarriage. Baby died at 7 and a half weeks and I found out after early scan (due to bleeding) at 9 and a half weeks and had a D&C, this was 1 week ago. Had no bleeding after the procedure and I think I got my period today. It is when I would have been due had I not got pregnant, I have been really constipated and now I'm not ( which is normal for me with my periods) and it was fresh proper period type blood. Am really excited as the hospital said DH and I could start trying again after a period however it is more than light - but then my D&C was only 1 week ago

SO the question is...

Is this my period?
Anyone had a similar experience to shed light?

Report
Diddle · 27/07/2005 18:15

coupe - sounds like a light period after m/c, I had a litle bleed after my m/c but nothing major.
I would wait until you have another before trying anything, just to make sure your system is flushed out properly. Apparently it is quite common to have a light bleed after your m/c whether you have a d&c or not. Thats all i know.
Soooooo sorry to hear that you've gone through a m/c, you are more than welcome to join us on here when you feel ready. I know just how you're feeling, and its horrible, was it your first pg

Coupe, my story is almost exactly the same as yours, but back in May. I didn't bleed much, but then it got a bit heavier after a few days. It lasted on and off for two weeks, a mixture of red and brown blood, then I waited 5 weeks for my af. I think bleeding after an erpc/D&C can be on and off. I'm not expert, but it seems unlikely that you ovulated and had a period, so quickly.

So Sorry to hear your story, but you seem keen to get trying again like the rest of us. Stick with us for all the support you could possibly need!

Hey Diddle,

Yes it was my first but really definatley hopefully not my last. Can't wait to try again - am not a patient person. Thanks for your kind thoughts - just going to catch up on the thread...

gosh, srike 1 the way you put it sounds like it's definately not my period (don't worry, I am a straight talker) My blooming midwife said it could be - really don't trust what she says -she let me down by not telling me I had to drink water before my scan, as if it wasn't stressful enough!

Sorry coupe, didn't mean to sound all straight talky It's just I got the same thing and my doctor said that to me. I don't normally sound so important, I don't what came over me Like Diddle say's it might be best to wait for another one just to get back on track. I know how hard that is believe me! It was my first to. I'm sure that it'll happen again soon, and you can get back to that happy pg feeling again

I'm ok. I felt like I had every symptom under the sun a few days ago, but it all seems to have calmed down a bit today. Although I do wake up each day with my teeth aching and feeling sort hung over ( which I'm not!) And that is how I felt last time. But I might be imagining it. Off to the family holiday place again tomorrow ( but I still have to work ) and some friends are joining us. If af comes to then at least I can enjoy the local wine for a bit!

How are you doing? Is af still about or have you sent here packing?

Huge CONGRATULATIONS on the safe delivery of your little bundle. Its really cheered me up.

Coupe

So sorry to hear of your loss.I had missed miscarriage at 12 wks in 1992 and i have a beautiful little girl now (but then had a stillbirth after her, which is another story )

So thats me,maddyd,strike1 and shelly24 all with af due this weekendish.Any more?

I wish i was not so obsessive but reading your notes i can see i am not alone

this testing early is just not good forthe soul.dh said 'just wait till mon' (af would be 1 day late)and i ran upstairs where i have been all afternoon.i think hes really worried about me now.
Thing is i took 6mths mat leave after loosing philippa as i knew i would ttc and i am usually v v sick for the first 4-5 mths and have to be off sick.As it is i am worried that i will be back in work (24th Oct) before i am pg and then have to take time off again cos i will prob be ill.Work would not be happy.

Sorry to rant on,just putting myself under additional pressure,i know
