Agnus Castus/ Red raspberry leaf - any point?

I've been taking these for several months now after a MC but have had a 5 week, then almost 10 week cycle and a horrible heavy period which is not the norm. Its difficult to gauge whether these are doing any good as my body is clearly adjusting to what has happened so I'm wondering if anyone else has any thoughts to share?

Are they any good or totally pointless?

Hi moofold- I've previous taken Agnus castus to help regulate my cycle when I came off the pill when we first decided to ttc. It definitely worked then - I think it can help to regulate progesterone levels? I took it on the advice of a herbalist- it might be worth going to see one so you can check it's right for you? I do know they say to take it for about 4 months before any effects can be seen?

Thanks Clareanna, that's good to hear some positive feedback. I expected my cycles to be erratic but I've noticed just about everyone else on the TTC after MC thread settled down after the WTF cycle. I was just hoping that the supplements weren't doing more harm than good.

Good idea about seeing a herbalist to get tailored advice, I'll definitely look into that.

Hi
When I came off the pill last time it took forever for my period to come back. This time I took Agnus Cactus after reading about it here - period back within a month!
I don't normally buy into the Holland and Barratt stuff (too much crap being sold with very little research to back up the claims etc), but it seems to have worked!
All the best
BB

Hi Moofold - I think it's a bit of a myth that cycles return to normal afterwards! Although mine is normal length, it certainly doesn't seem normal yet. It seems most of us on the TTC after MC thread are having unusual symptoms, weird breakthrough bleeding, cramping etc, so it must just take some time to settle down (must remember to take own advice!)
