I have een off the pill since july, dp & I have been("not preventing")since about september (not using ANY protection) TMI?

for the past 2 months i have had late periods, or so i thought. maybe my cycles are changing? the first couple of periods after i stopped the pill were normal though?

doctor ruled out PCOS and anything like that and just said relax, and it will come. but it seems like a distant dream.... just found out one of my friends is PG. and i cat help but feel envious..

any advice will be great. thanks x

Hi Freesabird

Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in this, I'm in exactly the same boat as you. Stopped pill in July, normal periods, now late ones. Apparently thats what often happens so don't worry too much.

I know also what you mean about the distant dream, that's exactly how I feel too.

I know that wasn't very helpful but I just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

How has the doctor ruled out PCOS etc? Has he arranged for you to have all the tests?

Had sans etc relating to something else, but has ruled it out as i have no cysts either... maybe its just my periods trying to regulate? but choosing to be awkward?!

Hi Freeasabird,

I don't know if this helps but I have a 28 day cycle which sometimes gets disrupted, (stress, travel, etc.) making me ovulate a week late leading to a 35 day cycle. Could something similar be happening with you? (So rather than ovulating on day 14 of my cycle which would normally be the case, I would sometimes ovulate on day 21 instead leading to a 35 day cycle)

There is also a book I got from Amazon called "Your Fertility Signals; Using them to achieve or avoid pregnancy naturally" by Merryl Winstein, which might be useful to help you know when you're ovulating.

HTH

Hi Freesabird, hope you're ok. I'm doing everything I can to help my body (fertility monitor, pre-seed, folic acid).

I'm trying not to panic about this taking years..... I want my cycle back to normal!

What's your latest? xxx

I'm on CD32. If AF doesn't show up by next Saturday then I know I'm definitely irregular. I wouldn't think too much into the symptoms, I've done that before and then been bitterly upset when the negative test result showed. I think its better just to almost believe you won't be pregnant yet as that way you don't get yourself distressed and guessing all the time.

I'm on the Sanatogen one too. xx

Freeasabird I was in the same boat last year with husband as in we were just "letting nature take its course".

The problem with this approach is that the man can sit back and relax whereas the female begins to get anxious when periods start to roll by (it's hard to just sit back when it all happens in our bodies after all!).

I found finally switching in to "trying mode" really did the trick for us. I began to get to know my cycles and ovulation points and fell pregnant very quickly (after months of nothing). I bought a clearblue fertility monitor (talk about going to the opposite extreme and definitely not for everyone!) and realised that I ovulated much later in the month than i realised (35 day cycle -- ovulating on day 21-22).

I think finally admitting that we both really wanted to have a baby and really going for it (no more 'let's just see what happens') helped tremendously.

Best of luck!

Hiya teletubby7777
Yeah I mean, going by my last period i?m on 35day cycle (not 100%) where as all along i thought i was on a 29 day cycle, so i would be bd on the wrong days! What you?ve just said does make a lot of sense now!! I?m on CD27 now so who knows! I just hope i dont have another 45 day cycle!! But i do think that was stress-related!

Yeah DP he?s 25 and wanted one since early 08, i?m 21 and have wanted one 100% since july 09... we haven?t termed it ?TTC? as we didnt want to set ourselves up for failure & disappointment. But you?re right ? no matter how loing our men are they don?t seem to think as much as us!! Not meaning they don?t care but they just have different strategies i guess!

What ov symptoms did you notice...? also What were your symptoms before your BFP?
I?m a bit of a dumbo when it comes to OPK?s, BST, charting etc, i get confused! And maybe it might stress me out more?!! xx
