Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility its a great book and helps you chart your temp and other signs to see if you are ovulating. I have only ever used Clearblue Digital ovulation sticks so not sure about other ones but they seem to do the trick.

those sticks never worked for me either, although was ovulating... take temps & check CM instead.

Agree with the other posters. I found OPKs complicated and hard to read (and expensive). Taking Charge of Your Fertility was brilliant and temping was so useful for me. I also used Fertility Friend, which was helpful when temping and gave me more confidence on interpreting what was happening (ie. seeing that I was actually ovulating!!).

If you don't want to make a chart yourself, just jot down the temps every morning and use Fertility Friend, which is a website that makes a chart for you. Just google fertility friend, it's free to use.

Take your temp straight away as soon as you wake up, and try to do it around the same time every morning, it's more accurate that way. The book mentioned here gives you loads of info on temping and also cervical mucus - I know it sounds disgusting but it really helped me to know what my body was doing. You can add information on cervical mucus to Fertility friend and this helps the programme figure out when you're ovulating (as well as temps).

ps. I just got the book out of my local library, in case you don't fancy spending money on it!
