am i ovulating or rubbish test strips?

Conceived DD with no problems but while we've only been TTC for a few months i'm worried that i may not be ovulating.

Have been using ovulator strips for last 2 months and not had a definate positive yet (had a faint 2nd line last month - which is still classed as negative). Are the strips a waste of money or could i not be ovulating?

Also, brown spotting prior to period starting - read on internet this could be due to hormone imbalance. Anyone had this? Will a doctor take me seriously if I go to them to query this? Would like a blood test to check hormones (could this be why not Ovulating), will they do this do you think or expect us to be TTCing for a year?

Hi. Not sure how useful the strips are. I think it can be really easy to miss your LH surge. I used them for a couple of months and never got a second line. Third month I had 4 days of progressively darker line which I knew wasn't right but it turned out it was picking up HcG and I was pregnant - although I apparently didn't ovulate. If you are concerned i would see your gp. Anything that is stressing you out is not going to help anyway. I am pretty sure they will agree to do a blood test but try and relax a little everything will probably be fine.x
