I have to ask ... phantom pregnancy?

Has anyone had one of these?

Firstly can I be clear in that I do NOT want a baby. So I'm not hopeful that this may be the case, I'm not 'TTC', I am not 'syptom spotting' or anything like that.

I thought I might be pregnant some months ago, I did a test, negative, I even did another a week later, negative.

For the last few months I've been really tired, so tired I'll go to bed at 9pm and still wake up tired.

I've had a few boughts of sickness, funny smells, tastes and so on.

In my other pregnancies I've had alot of sickness so thats the main reason I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant,

but... and I'm not crazy ... I can feel a baby kicking me

I know that there are bumps and trumps in there and after I had DS i felt something similar once, felt ike a kick.
But a few nights I have settled down in bed and felt kicking. Little bumps, several of them and I put my hand on my tummy and pressed in hard (alot of flab) and t bumed against my hand.

I felt it again last night, I had done a PG test at lunch time, negative.

I feel like I'm going crazy.

Surely gas can't kick your hand?!

I have not had a period for months anyway because I continually take the pill without a break and I have no reason to stop that as my tests have been negative.

I don't want to go to the GP, I'd sound like a lunatic.

An Alien?

Sorry!

I have felt phantom kicks before, it's very strange isn't it? I can't say I felt a kick back though.

I also have the odd bouts of feeling sick and then go cold thinking I might be pg.

So, you're not alone - apart from the kicking back thing.

I would see the doctor. You could just tell him/her that you have strange pains in your stomach, if you think it sounds too odd to tell the truth! I'm sure they'd suss out quickly enough if there's a baby in there! Good luck.

You don't live in an alien abduction hot spot, do you? (possibly inappropriate[Grin])

I think you should go to your doctor.

if it is gas, then it is fairly big for you to be so sensitive to it, but perhaps it needs investigating.

There are such things as phantom pregnancies but since you are not ttc, this would be unusual I would have thought?

Also, it is possible to be pregnant and not get a positive pregnancy test, it is rare but it can happen. If you go to the doctor, they should be able to palpate your tummy and tell if your uterus in enlarged, or if it is just extra gas going on...!!!! But really just in case it is not a phantom pregnancy but a real one then you should go to the doctors.

Any change in bowel function (including gas issues) should be investigated anyway.

Let us know what the doc says!

I think a pregnancy test doesn't work later on because the HCG levels are too low so a test would have a high probability of being negative.
