IUI - any support please?

Hello
Have read loads of the Talk but this is my first post. There are some very kind, supportive and helpful ladies out there!

So...I'm hoping for some of that magic.

Have just done my pregnancy test after first IUI and am not pregnant. Kind of knew that but still feeling very low. Hard not to feel bitter about all those friends and colleagues pushing out the babies when you are injecting yourself or lying there wiith a nurse sticking things up you yet again.

I endometriosis and have had 2 operations recently - second one for polyp that apparently wasn't noticed in the first set of internal investigations. All great fun.

Anyway, IUI was exceedingly painful (nurse described it as discomfort. I think not.)I have a 'tilted' uterus, apparently. I find out lovely new things all the time these days...

2 days later I started getting bad cramps and bleeding. Nurse told me it was due to bleeding at cervix and nothing to worry about. Felt ill and lightheaded for 4 days (still bleeding lightly for that time).Again was told this was normal after difficult IUI.

Has anyone else had that? Carrying on a tiny bit this week after a 7 day gap.

Not telling anybody (apart from husband!) is v isolating and I would be glad of any support. Feeling guilty all the time that I am doing something wrong. Can't just give up work and lie in bed though...

Thanks!

Hi MMM, I haven't been through IUI (yet-am on a waiting list) but wanted to chip in and say hang in there and I'm sorry its so hard right now.

Am new to MN too, (this is my third post) but finally found people who know whats happening rather than struggling on being "normal" for everyone other than DH. Hope you are finding it as helpful.

Seeing as hugs aren't very MN, how about some babydust for next month?

Best of luck. I did two rounds and had a tilted uterus too. Round two worked. I had acupuncture to support the treatment - you need someone who is registered with the British Acupunture Council and who specialises in fertility. Western medical research suggests acupuncture can increase your chances of conceiving considerably. Don't have the references but you can google them. I know it is more expense on top of the treatment - I blew the last of my savings but it was worth it - even tho the result of my successful treatment is currently being a mardy-a* typical 4 year old .

Does your clinic offer any counselling. Mine was attached to an NHS hospital Tho I paid for the treatment, the counselling was included in the price. I totally understand your need for privacy but it does really help to be able to talk.

Best of luck

Hi Venetia2
Thanks very much! Baby dust gratefully received! Good luck with your IUI..the injections really aren't bad at all. I tend to faint with blood tests but am fine administering them myself.

Hi MrsSantosnotSanta
Oh, thanks for your reply...that's so encouraging! Will keep calm and carry on! Accupuncture sounds a great plan and I will follow that up. I think there is a counselling phone service so I will look into that too.
Thanks again!
