Same-sex partner fertility treatment - any advice or information?

Hi, my partner and I have decided after six years together that we are going to try for a baby (at last!! ) Does anybody know what the NHS provisions are for fertility treatments for same-sex couples? Does it vary by NHS Trust (I presume so) and if you start by paying for treatment does that mean you get less funded treatment later? If for example we paid for IUI which didn't work, would we be less entitled to funded IVF later if we needed it? Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks Belgianbun, that's helpful. I guess until I've been to see my GP I won't know whether they usually offer treatment to lesbians, although it sounds like they can't refuse on that basis from this month! Having to take an NHS Trust to court to secure funding sounds like a stressful start to what is a stressful period of time anyway though
