I have charted my cycle for the last few months and this is what I get:

Cycle Length- 37-40 days
EWCM(ovulation?)- 20-22 days before AF starts.
I have been checking EWCM instead of temperature as I am up and down in the night quite a lot so it wouldn't be accurate anyway.

How is this possible. Everywhere I have read that the luthel stage is no more than 16 days, I can't seem to find any info on longer luthel stages.

Also what does this mean? Is this why I am having difficulty conceiving?

Please help....

Your cycle would be seen as irregular as it is longer than 35 days.

I would forget about the cervical mucus and instead have blood tests done to see what your hormone levels are like. This will provide a more accurate indicator.

Sorry! Forgot I posted this

Thanks for responding. So would I be able to request this from the doctor, or is it likely to be a battle to get them to do it?

Blood tests should be quite easy to arrange via the GP.

The standard tests done are day 2 (this will check and compare your level of LH luteinising hormone against that of FSH follicle stimulation hormone. Both LH and FSH are important as they kickstart the ovulation process) and day 21. The day 21 would measure the progesterone level.

Thanks! Going to try to book into doctors in the morning and ask about this.

Does anyone know if a long luthel stage can affect conception??

Does this mean that I might have too much hormones?
