Been trying to get AWOL Mirena removed for four months so can TTC DC2.

Had a scan 4 weeks ago to find out where it was exactly, and Dr sent referral to hospital. Said I should just get the surgical appt as consultant shouldn't need any more info.

Four weeks on, get letter from hospital to ring and make appt with consultant. This might take six weeks, THEN surgical appt which might be another 13 weeks.

I'm 34, I'm so broody it hurts, I am surrounded by pg friends and new babies and I want to sit and weep because one stupid bit of plastic and a computer system are between us and TTC.

I know there's more priority cases out there, but I'm just .

Been there after a molar pregnancy - had to wait about 7/8 months in all. At the beginning it felt like torture, but time did pass more quickly. It's also a really good time to start taking folic acid - 3 months before conception is ideal, and I tried to work on getting as healthy as possible.

Good luck - hope it happens for you soon.

I am taking folic acid and doing a bit of a detox, so trying to use my time.

But just feel like my hormones are screaming at me - this is SO frustrating...

It does get better, I promise - total PITA, and then all of a sudden you find yourself 36 weeks pregnant and thinking about hospital bags!

You need a project. One that will last 4 months, is totally absorbing, and un-baby related. This will take your mind off it.

It's is what I'm doing at the moment

That's true - I did an OU course - well, started one, and then got pregnant, and had to do exam with big bump!

Well, I'm trying to move house and have a toddler and a job, so I do have stuff to take my mind off it.

It just doesn't work all the time. Sigh. Maybe will take up knitting (NOT booties)...

Your Dr said that you should proceed straight to surgical appt though? Are you sure the consultant needs to see you (worth querying esp as you have had the scan and referral).

Maybe ring your Dr back and ask why the consultant appt is now necessary and find out if there's any way of speeding up the process.

Good luck, anyway. Hey, you can think of it as a New Year project? Just think that at least you can do those Christmas parties/glasses of bubbly/late nights/all day shopping or window shopping sprees without feeling knackered)/soft cheeses and pate, plus you can throw yourself into making this Christmas (or Holiday season if you don't celebrate Christmas) the best ever for your little toddler, without feeling wiped out by early pg. And get a head start on the vitamins and healthy eating
