Hi Everyone

I'm new on this site and just feeling my way around....

A bit about me....we have been trying for a baby for 2 years now, last August we had a miscarriage and I found out I had a large cyst on my left ovary. I had surgery in March this year, they also did other tests at the same time. My husband also got tested and everything came back fine for the both of us but sadly we still haven't conceived then my friend rung me and told me she is now a few months pregnant and told me I should use these things called Instead Conception Cups.....has anyone every used them and do they work?

Bit long winded, sorry :-)

Hi there,

Welcome to MN!!

I don't have any answers to your question, but you might get more responses if you start a new thread with a bit more info in the title. Like "Anyone any experience of Conception Cups?", something like that.

Hopefully you'll get some good responses!!

Good luck with TTC!

I think Instead cups are like the mooncup - ie they are designed to catch period blood, and you can have sex with them in. They are not a conception aid...

Sorry, I hope that didn't sound too direct! Welcome!

apparently (just googled it) women put moon cups orsimilar products in after sex to keep semen in and possibly improve chance of getting pregnant.

No idea how practical this is as never used a moon cup.

I guess lying with bum raised and feet in the air (on against a wall) for a while would do the same job.

Ah, I see. I don't think it would work to be honest, sorry! The gravity thing I know isn't true.

Bertiebots, I have to say that I slightly disagree with what you say about keeping your legs up!!

After BDing (but before TTC), I used to have to go to the loo straight away because I often suffer with cystitis and I noticed that the man's "stuff" came out straight away and over the next few hours.

When TTC, I used to stay with my legs up for 30 mins after BDing (boring though it was... ) and my DH's stuff didn't leak out at all either straight away or over the next few hours. Didn't notice it the next day either so I think there maybe something said for keeping bum raised!!

It could all be bulls* but I think in our case it helped!
