Access Diagnostics 25ml HPT's - a question!

Have just done one of these HPT's and can see a faint line. I can see it clearly if I hold it away from me a bit, but when I take it into the daylight it's not there

Now, I can't figure out whether it's actually a line, or whether it's the little dipped bit where the line would appear. It does seem to have a tiny bit of colour to it, but is much thinner than the control line.

I know no-one can tell me if I am pg or not, but I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else who's then gone on to get thicker and bolder lines as the days go by...
Go on, give me some hope please

Sounds like an evaporation line sorry! I used them and had tons of evap lines (had big thick positive lines too though so I could see the difference!)

I had this - and I am now 13 weeks pregnant! The line was so faint I thought I was imagining it. It took about 48 hours before I was sure, and then I took a clearblue digital and got a bfp.

good luck!

Gidders - how many days DPO were you when you first took the test? Congratulations on your pregnancy

whomoved - thanks, I was wondering whether it might be an evaporation line... S'pose the next few days will tell. I'm hopeless at waiting for things though!

I just did another test from the same box using someone else's wee (don't ask) and there is absolutely no colour on it whatsoever. There is a definate difference between the two tests when you hold them up next to each other. The first one could just be a dodgy one couldn't it, and have a random evaporation line on it...

Daris - I did find them a bit iffy in this respect (I too will admit to being a multiple tester) but they are pretty cheap so why don't you do another one and see if you get the same lines again.

Of course testing in 48 hours would be the sensible thing, but who wants to be sensible?

darls · 28/07/2009 16:18

One thing I've never been is sensible I'm afraid...

This morning I wasn't even thinking about the possibility, having almost given up hope, but now I'm a woman obsessed

Will control myself, somehow manage to get some sleep tonight, and test again in the morning.

Don't know why I always get myself so excited, I'm usually disappointed

I can't remember exactly i'm afraid Darls. I think I got my bfp about a day before my period was due, so it would have been a couple of days before that. Like I say, very early! But I ovulate v early too, on about day 8-10, so maybe that made a difference.

Hmm, I'm in a similar situation to you Darls - also using the access diagnostics sticks. Tested on Sunday 11 days post ovulation and thought it was a BFN as didn't see a second line. However checked it again 2 mins later and saw very faint line emerging. Tested yesterday and again today, also a faint line after a couple of minutes. Not convinced though, think I will buy a brand name test tomorrow when AF is officially do, maybe the digital display ones so I don't have to spend ages squinting in the light for a line!

Good luck, when are you going to test again?

darls · 28/07/2009 17:16

Oh good luck engelbart
With past pregnancies the access diagnostics ones have been very reliable, and IME I've only ever had a faint line when I have been pg. However, I think since I was last pg they've maybe changed the test sticks so there's a little dip in it, and it's that that's putting me off believing that it's a proper line.
Are your tests the ones with a little indentation across the test where the +ve line should go?
Will be thinking of you tomorrow, I really hope you get 'pregnant' flashing up on the screen! I'm going to test again in the morning I think... Will you let me know how you get on?

Sounds like we're using the same test sticks Darls. I definitely don't have any AF symptons and have a raging thirst which I had with my first pregnancy. Feeling hopeful . Really really hope you get a positive when you test tomorrow, I will definitely keep you updated. What time do you think you'll test tomorrow? I'll have to try and get to the shops to buy a test so not sure when I'll do it. Do know I'll be really really disappointed if its a BFN!

I so hope you are The thirst sounds good!
I don't have AF symptoms either, and loads of creamy CM which I normally get when pg. No sore boobs though, but am feeling a bit like I've got a lump in my throat, another norm for pg me

Fingers crossed for us both! I'll probs test when dh has gone to work (8ish) if I can cross my legs till then! Have had mc's and cp's in the past so daren't get dh's hopes up until I know for sure.

Will be checking this thread to see how you get on!!!!

Morning engelbart
Just tested again, and have got another very faint line, but it's definately there. Am actually feeling a bit rough too this morning and can't seem to face breakfast, so am really hopeful that I am, but still can't take this faint line as a certain +ve.

Will test again tomorrow morning!

I'm excited for you testing this morning, have got a good feeling about it! Will keep coming back to check to see if there's any news! Good luck x

Congratulations darls! They do say a line is a line, however faint

Did you use the access diagnostics test again? I'm really really worried about testing now incase its a negtive. Still haven't bought a test. Have no AF symptons which is a good sign though, as normally I'm regular as clockwork. Plus I know exactly when I ovulated too!

Keep me updated!

Thank you, but it seems I was a bit premature in posting earlier! I have inspected the test again (as you do) and the line seems to have almost completely gone upon drying out, and is hardly there at all so am now wondering...
Compared to today's test there was definately colour on yesterday's, and so maybe it's yet another cp, or maybe just one dodgy test. AF not due yet though so still holding out hope

When is/was your AF due? It's horrible plucking up courage to test isn't it! Oops, just read that it's due today. If it hasn't arrived yet then that's hopeful... Why don't you leave it another couple of days then? I really hope you get the answer you want when you do test! Everything's crossed for you!

Engelbart, what fantastic news
You and dh must be thrilled! Hope you have a happy, healthy and uneventful next 8 months!

I'm not going to test again I don't think - am so confused re my cycle. It's been getting longer each month, and although I thought I'd OV'd the week before last, I now have loads of EWCM, so am wondering if I haven't actually OV'd after all DH and i are back to bd'ing... I do not have a clue what's going on...

So pleased for you though!!!
