Erpc-gone horribly wrong-in hospital :-(

(15 Posts)
Heya, just thought i'd have a rant. I had my erpc yday morning-went home everything appeard ok. The next thing i knew, i cud barely move from the pain, and going for a wee (sorry!) was impossible. So...went to AnE, had 2 wait until midnight to be seen. Was put into a room on my own where i waited til 2.00 this morning, and was put on a drip and given morphine. So...had blood tests, urine tests, then put in a room wit 3 senile (is that how its spelt) women, and was meant 2 sleep. Unfortunatly this was impossible, as old women (bless them) were shouting in their sleep. My poor dp slept on a chair. The nxt morning gyn came and swabbed me, and prodded me, and iv since had a antibiotics in a drip, another normal drip. They suspect, an infection, and possible perforation. Basicaly what i worried about al week has happened. I have moved up 2 a new ward and im in a room on my own. Awaiting more antibiotics and a scan. Have to stay again 2nyt. I dnt feel at al glamerous, im wearing dp's shorts. Lol. Sorry bout typo's, on my fone. Im just so angry this has hapened.

Thanks sunburntats i am at home now, which is gud.

The lady who did my scan yesterday, asked why i was here, i explained the erpc thing, and she responded 'ur making a habit of this arnt u, which i responded 'what do you mean?' and she said 'having terminations' as you can guess i was extremely angry, and i put in a complaint.

Thanks for everyones support the last couple of days. xx
So sorry you've had to go through this. Sending you a big newbie hug,xxx

hi Rach,
that is utter shite for you love.

Im so sorry that not only have you ahd to cope with losing your baby but now this, which is the thing that you had been so very worried about.fwiw i needed very strong painkillers for over a week after my last 2 mcs.
Couldnt drive at all, as they made me a bit funny. Those were the only thing that covered the pain. I was doubled up, it was labour pains in escence.

I want to send you a big hug.

hey rach,

prob as it's so soon after the first they are gonna give it a chance to come away naturally, if it's just a bit then it prob will.

i didn't realise i had an incomplete erpc but i kept having bleeding for a month and after calling the hospital had a scan and there was still quite a bit there.

btw the antibiotics would be pretty normal in this case - is as much to stop infection developing as anything else.

hope that means there was no perforation then?

how are you doing anyway, have been thinking of you. have some idea of what you are going through and it's truly shit. really hope you are feeling a bit better.

Hey triggerhappybaby, sorry to hear everything hasn't gone well for you recently-bt if we both had bad stuff happening around the same time, then something good might happen to us at same time! Lol.

Nolongerchunkybutstill- had scan 2day, and they said that there was 'tissue' left, bt they are not going to do erpc again. Is this right?

hey rach.

tons of sympathy.

i thought i'd had a pretty hard time with having to have 2 erpcs for the same mc... think you win on the 'truly shite' stakes tho.

maybe everyone who has had a crappy year so far is about to have some wonderful things happen to them - would be nice eh?

hope things sort out as quickly as poss, try and take it easy and get dp/family/friends to run round after you and feed you chocolate.

take care

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
