Hi all

I'm due to have egg collection on bank holiday Monday. This is my 1st IVF and yesterday at clinic I had just 6 follicles. 2 days prior to that I had only 3 follicles and they were considering converting the IVF to IUI due to poor response. So, I'm hoping that these 6 follies contain at least 4 good eggs that result in embryos for us. Just wondering if anyone has had similair experience?

Not personally EMZIB but I know someone who only got 4 eggs and is now about 25 weeks pg. Why don't you join us on the Assisted Conception thread, where there are other women who have experienced this.

Were you on the long protocol or the short one? Apparently some women who don't respond well to the long one have better luck with the short one.

Good luck for Monday. I had my EC last Monday and my advice would be to make sure you have plenty of rest, someone to look after you and some paracetamol handy.

Thanks! I did the long protocol. Will join you on the other thread tomorrow. Am off to rest my weary hormonal self now. Not long to go now. Have stocked up with paracetomol and have warned my other half that he'll need to wrap me in cotton wool!

Hi. Thanks for your encouraging message londonlottie

Had the EC yesterday, which I have to say was fine under sedation (incase anyone is anxious about this procedure). They retrieved 5 eggs and we're expecting a call from the embryologist in the next 30 mins with an update on their progress. I'm a nervous wreck! Will update shortly....

Well, 3 of the 5 eggs have fertilised!!!! They said that the next hurdle is getting to the cleavage (cell division) stage, but that 90% manage that ok. I'm booked in for transfer tomotrrow morning. Can't wait!
