how regular were your periods after coming off the pill?

i dont know if i am in the right place as i have not been trying for a baby, but didnt know where else to put it and thought you ladies would be best suited to answer my question.
i came off the pill in october as we were going to ttc this april, but home life has not gone as planned, we still live wiht parents after failing to get planning permission to build a home nad are still in limbo as to where we will be living so have been using condoms ever since. i am religious about using them as i was scared of getting pg at the wrong time and messing up my future plans.

however we did have one slpit(but it was right at the beginning of sex so i didnt think anything to it) i am not niaeve (s?) but really didnt think it would matter, or be any sperm there.

BUT my the end of my last period was 6 weeks ago ! i started to wonder if i was pg so did a test( albeit a twin pack of the lint strip type ones £1.94 form wilko as i didnt think i would be needing them and af would come anyway)

that was negative on wednesday.

all of my periods since oct have been 4-5 weeks inbetween, i have never been this long. i have not been particularily worried or stressed about it so dont tihnk its that affecvting it, if i am then i am.

so do you think it is just my periods messing about, or should i get a better test and do another? i am going to use the other cheapo test tomorrow morning, see what that says. if it says negative i will buy a proper one to be doubly sure.

My periods are well messed up after coming off the pill - sometimes on time, sometimes over a week late! Bit scary!

yep same here.
Both times I have come off the pill my cycle was all over the place 6 weeks here 4 there 8 there not pattern till I got PG!

Oh and FYI, the tests are generally the same, they use the lint ones in hospitals!
The early detecion ones prob pick up better but prob better to wait than waste cash!?!

Says me, i'm sure I couldn't tho

I hear you! Its fecking crap I wasted £10 on a clearblue digital test today KNOWING it was too early anyway!

do you really think early morning wee makes that much of a difference?

i do banger racing and am supposed to be racing tomorrow night, i shouldnt have wasted that test just now!!!

sort of, it would have the strongest trace of hormone!
Have you got a clean container? you know where I'm going with this?

well just not i peed in a bowl dd had used for some weetos didnt think it would matter!! i will wash it really well honest!

the test i had was a strip that i had to dip into the wee and then leave for 5 mins

EUGH! Yep

FYI TMI, I used a plastic cup last time rinsed it out and left it to be washed up!
DH picked it up swilled it and drank from it EEUUGGH
Haven't plucked up need or courage to tell him!

i needed the lo at 6am so i saved that wee(bleugh) i am surprised it didnt disintergrate the plastic cup

went first thing and bought 2 of the digital clearblue tests, used one and it said not pregnant.

i feel strangley disappointed

I've bought 2 tests today, going to hold out till tomorrow am hopefully!

im not sure, i have had 3 negative tests now so surely all 3 cant be wrong?

are you trying for a baby? it took me 6 months to get pregnant with dd, every period that came after coming off the pill was heartbreaking, i thought something was wrong. we have it drummed into us that unprotected sex leads to babies, so i just thought it would happen straight away and when it didnt i was gutted.

i dont know why i was disappointed, i dont even like being pregnant, what with all the sickness, bloatedness, heartburn, cramps etc etc, i definatley didnt bloom

Yep ne neither, it sucks!

I've come off pill but we aren't offically trying yet wanted to wait til I'd had a few periods IYKWIM

I tested again today BFN,
must wait til at least Fri

No I've just re-tested still BFN

I really should wait until at least Friday, that will be 2 weeks since you know what!!
