Chemical pregnancy? (This time with title, duh)

I'm wondering whether I have had a chemical pregnancy, and would be interested to hear any others' experiences of this.

We've been TTC since last May with a miscarriage at around 7 weeks pg last July.
Since then mc my cycle lengths have been:
24
26
28
30
31
31

So the cycle length has crept up a little as the months have passed. But this month I had a mammoth 42 day cycle, with 2 -ve tests on CD39 and CD40.

My period finally arrived yesterday and has been more painful than normal with more clotting.

I went to the docs to do a preg test yesterday (period arrived, with its usual grim comic timing, just as I was about to give a urine sample)- which I assume will be negative. It may be that my GP will want to see me to check things are OK. So it's all "in hand" medically.

I'm just curious as to why my cycle might have been so long... I was on antibiotics in the middle of my cycle- could this have affected things?

Any thoughts or experiences would be gratefully read...

I had a chemical pregnancy last month - tested +ive at day 33 and got my period at day 35. Sounds unlikely that you would get a +ive between day 40 & AF on 42, but I don't have any knowledge of why your cycle would go so long. Hope someone else can help.

Good luck xx

hi joy, tbh it does sound like it may have been a cp, however, i would go to the gp about your irregular periods, you are coming up to the point where your gp would typically refer you anyway, might just chivy things along a bit.

Thanks lissie- yes I think you're right, I ought to see my GP anyway just to keep an eye on things...

And there I was thinking having a baby would be easy!

Illness always delays ovulation for me, which has the knock-on effect of making my period later.
