I promised myself I wouldn't obsess about these things and just enjoy the ttc.
I already have a dd so there shouldn't be too many problems, but can't stop thinking that I'm now too old (35) and that the mrena coil has messed up my cycles.

Anyway, have been paying attention to my cm. I seem to have ewcm for only a few hours.... Is this possible?? It was there yesterday in the afternoon but then in the evening was already cloudy and not strechy. This morning it was again like ew for a bit but now it's not anymore. What does this mean? I thought it should last for a few days... Or is it like this at this age?
Also, how many days after it can you still get pregnant? dh is only back on friday, so I've probably missed another clycle

Thanks for your answers

I find I get a little bit of EWCM for several days and then I get loads the day immediately before ov. Yes, IME it is normal to have other kinds of CM through the day too. Just wait and see what happens over the next few days.

When the EWCM finally ends that usually means you have ovulated. I ovulate the day after the day on which I get the most EWCM. Since the egg only lives for 24 hours at the outside, the day before ov and the day of ov are the best days for conception. After that, you don't really stand a chance.

Have you considered charting your temps? Together with charting CM it can give a very good picture of what is going on (with hindsight, anyway).

Yes, I might start doing temps next month. I wanted to do it this month but when I started doing it with dds ear themometer the variation within one minute was so high that I decided it couldn't be trusted. What is the best way? one of the older digital ones in the mouth?

You need a digital thermometer that is specifically for measuring bbt. It needs to show your temp to 2 decimal places.

You can get one from Babymad.com or Access Diagnostics. And once you've got one of those you can use it as a fever thermometer too if you want.

Anyone else only has less than a day of ewcm?

Yes, me!

The guidelines which say you should be getting several days of EWCM don't relate in any way to my experience. I get a tiny bit on maybe one day in my cycle- and as for being able to stretch it between your fingers, even if I wanted to do that I don't think I'd have anywhere near enough to do that!

I'm 28 and managed to conceive last year (had mc tho), by the way. So I wouldn't worry that it's your age.

I too thought I wouldn't get obsessed- had never heard of EWCM before but now my lack of it worries me!
