Hi, I took clomid for 6 months when TTC my daughter. I only took 1 tablet a day and it worked every time.
This is now my 3rd month of taking clomid and I'm on 3 tablets a day, as it didn't work the last 2 months.
I'm only on day 3 and I'm getting a lot of pain in my left ovarie. It feels like ovulation pain but worse.
I phoned the hospital and the nurse said it was probubly un related to the Clomid as it's far too early in my cycle.
I'm just wondering what on earth it is then. Has anyone else had this?
She did say to see how it goes with paracetamol then come in for a scan if it's still bad.

Are you sure you didn't ov last month? Only I had the same thing when on Clomid and - without wanting to scare you - it was an ectopic pg. I phoned NHS direct because the pain was so bad and it was in the ovary area and I thought it might be over stimulation on the Clomid or a EP - I was right

Have you any pg tests in the house? Quickest way to eliminate it. I really hope it's not - just thought I ought to warn you as it happened to me

out-of-hours GP was really good on the phone- if you ring NHS direct they get your surgery's out-of-hours GP/ service to ring you back.

I don't think it is an eptopic pregnancy because I've just finnished a normal period.
I'll buy a test tommorrow just in case. If the pain is the same or worse, I might ask for a scan tomorrow.

nomoremagnolia- did you end up loosing an ovarie? How did they treat it?

I had a normal period too - exactly when I expected it, normal length, normal heaviness etc etc...
Do a pg test to rule it out at least then you can go to the docs/hospital with some info for them. My GP said the first things he though it was would be ectopic pg or overstimulation. If it was neither of those we'd have to investiate but he thought the first thing to do was to do a pg test to see which of those options we should look at first.
I really hope it isn't bad news and that it's your ovaries being kick started

I was lucky - the embryo was reabsorbed/naturally miscarried (not too sure which, only that it went away of it's own accord) and I didn't need to have my tube removed.

Thank you, I'll do that test ASAP. Then that would be the worst thing ruled out.

That was lucky, but probubly heart breaking at the same time.
Are you going to try again?

It was heartbreaking. We're trying again/still trying...the only 'good' thing was not knowing I was pg until it was a diagnosis of the reason I was in pain. I'm off to bed now but let me know what happens tomorrow

Thank you. Sorry I havn't been on the computer untill now. It's not an eptopic pregnancy, I did a test. It's acctually a lot better now, but it comes and goes. I'm wondering if it's a cyst, or hopefully the tablets working this time.
I have my fingers crossed for this month. If it gets very bad again, I'll go for another scan. It was a worry.
