IUD -ANYONE!

Hi.
I wonder if anyone can help. I have a coil fitted (IUD), not sure which one to be honest. I've had it for 3 years and completely love it, my periods are alot lighter shorter and less painfull. Theres only one problem, since having it fitted I've got terrible facial acne, especially on my chin. Does anyone else suffer from this side effect and what have you tried to get rid of the spots? I'm a Beauty Therapist so know the difference between skin types etc and also know my daily skin routine is excellent so i know these spots are not down to me using the wrong products etc. Someone please help me!!!!

You could have a Mirena coil which contains progesterone. Sorry I dont know any more about this coil. You could ask which one you you have at clinic you had it inserted.

i had the coil inserted that was non-hormonal. you could try switching to that one??
might be the hormones if its a hormone coil. did u suffer with spots as a teenager? could be how your body reacts to hormones?

Hi the mirena coil rings a few bells, this could possibly be the one i have.
No ive never suffered with spots as a child or teenager. i had normal skin to be honest, guess i was one of the lucky ones.

would you consider a non hormonal one? better for you anyway, doesnt upset your hormone balance.
also doesnt effect fertility once removed.
im a big fan.

i would indeed - does the none hormonal one have the same affect on periods? before having my coil my periods were heavy, long and painful - now there short light and only a day or so of discomfort.

ah no i believe it can make them worse. it did for me, heavier and more painful, but was better than the alternative of condoms. (cant use hormonal things myself makes me feel pregnant all the time)
