Glucosamine while TTC and/or pregnant

Anyone know whether it's ok to carry on taking Glucosamine (800mg) while TTC or pregnant? Can't find anything about it on the tablet box and am making sure I take the supplement without extra omega 3s, cod liver oil etc. as know liver should be avoided when pregnant, and I'm planning to take the prenatal supplements which have omega 3s, 6s etc. in anyhow once pregnant.

Just wondered if anyone else takes this or knows about it? Thanks.

Inspired by Yule's public spirited bumping - I have just googled this for you and found the following:

Pregnant / Lactating Women
Pregnant women should avoid Glucosamine. There have not been enough long term studies on the fetus to clearly say that Glucosamine is 100% safe for the developing fetus. There is no evidence that it would be harmful but it would be best to be safe in a situation such as this.

sorry for the delay in responding- thanks Pinkmook (and PuzzYuleLogs too!). I actually stopped being lazy and googled it too and found a more recent study that didn't show any adverse outcomes in pregnancy or through breastfeeding, so for the moment I'm going to keep taking it...then if I fall pregnant talk to GP. 800mg is a fairly low dose anyhow. Thanks ladies!

Sorry for delay in replying EldonAve- I didn't get any further answers, but am relying on the study which didn't show any adverse outcomes and am currently taking 1000mg daily while TTC. But that is obviously my own personal opinion. My physiotherapist also didn't think it would cause any problems but that was her personal opinion not a medically endorsed one.
